Staff was deadly slow, and they could care less. Ordered online, ran a couple of quick errands. Went to pick it up almost 30 minutes later, the order wasn't done and when they finally handed it to us it was wrong. Would've given it zero stars if I could. read more

Playa Bowls 38 E. Palisade Ave. Englewood, NJ 07631 PB&J Smoothie This thick specialty breakfast drink was blended with strawberry, banana, and peanut butter. It's my second visit and I'm giving them a 3.5/5; great menu of bowls and smoothie options; the juice bar is unavailable (which loses a star because it's on the board but no real definitive answer when it will be available). I like how the service attendants have always been friendly, patient and easy to communicate with (a star right there). In response to some of the other reviews on cleanliness, I can't say I agree with those statements entirely, the service workers wear gloves and the floors are relatively clear of debris. It's the patrons are slobs by leaving or throwing their straw wrappers on the floor. Or not picking up napkins that fall or fly from wind. I've added video from my most recent visit. read more

Fresh ingredients, quick service, something new to try that's healthier. Good amount of casual seating.

I went in with my son who placed an order. We waited for 50 minutes!!!!!There were four employees, including a cranky manager who kept telling a door dash driver (who spoke limited English and used his hands to say hurry), that he doesn't speak ASL and he could cancel the order if he was angry and had to leave.Another mom who asked for a drop of extra Nutella, was barked at that she needs to pay an up charge, despite her waiting one hour for the order of two bowls. The table we sat to wait at was filthy, full of sticky old residue. What a disgrace. To add insult to injury, they got my son's order wrong, so my $22 bowl and drink turned into upset. Do better, delegate orders better, and remember that customer service is everything read more

Update: Manager reached out to me, and it sounds like they are putting steps into place to ensure that the quality of the fruits meets their standards. Glad they are listening, and trying to improve. ----- Original: I used to love this place. The last few visits, the fruit toppings are awful. Usually underripe. Try eating hard as a rock tasteless mango. I've tried swapping my preferred toppings but haven't had much luck. I don't know what changed because the fruit used to be delicious. In this particular trip I got some overripe and some underripe mango. Pathetic. Service was good and employees were nice. read more

Generally, this place is average and I'll explain why below. Ambiance: (5/5) I like the theme and music they have playing. They have plenty of seating. Price: (3/5) Not too bad, but portions are small. Food: (3/5) The base consistency was too thin. It was like they actually took a smoothie and put it into the bowl. It should have been thicker. The bowl was also kinda small to be able to mix all the fruit together. Fruit didn't seem fresh. Service: (5/5) Food came out quickly and the staff was nice. In conclusion, I wouldn't come back here read more

Wait 20 minutes for a smoothie that was awful. It wasn't even crowded in there. Probably 3 people including me.

Standard playa location. Customer service is meh. I was waiting 3 min to pick up my food (ordered ahead of time). Every worker ignored me when I called them. I had to say "Hey, can you guys stop ignoring me? I literally just need to pick up my food". And they finally helped me. Staff seems lazy. read more

Don't have super appetizing photos of the things I got (my fault) but got the açaí bowl (chocolate protein powder mixed in) and the booster smoothie. Booster smoothie was alright, I think the focus is more on health than the taste, and it's pretty hard to cover up protein powder flavor IMO. Açaí bowl was tasty with fresh fruit and crunchy granola, but, if you get nutella as a topping it could be overwhelmingly sweet for one person. Overall I enjoyed what I got and the açaí/smoothies were thick, which is important for me :) Good for something refreshing but definitely wouldn't call it a light treat. read more

I have no major complaints about this location. The staff is energetic and friendly, but it is busy! It's best to order ahead because you'll be waiting 15-20 minutes. Some of the fruits are not ripe yet, such as my mango from today's bowl. Other than that, it's clean, spacious and tastes great! Metered parking only. read more

Bowls are good. But three stars because EVERY SINGLE time I come in the juicer is broken. Which makes me think they either do not feel like juicing or these juicers break often. Regardless of the reason only in Englewood it is constantly "broken". read more

The store's aesthetic is what truly creates an inviting ambiance. I find the service fast and efficient, food always comes quickly and looks fresh. In terms of taste- I don't recommend the smoothies, most with a banana base have overwhelming tastes of underripe banana. The acai bowls themselves are fresh and tasty, I recommend. read more

Same exact style as the Playa bowls down the shore. Açaí bowls are pretty good, they have a huge variety to choose from. I would said a bit expensive $10-12 for one açaí bowl. Also they don't put a lot of granola, so I would ask for extra on the side. Which they will charge you for. Also no calories are listed next to the bowl, which is annoying. Also, they have a loyalty program, however they never ask you if you want to be a part of it. Which I found a bit weird. I've been there over 5 times and purchased 2 each time, I think I would have gotten a free one, yeah they didn't care LOL. Definitely a younger vibe, which reminds me of down the shore. Overall the açaí is great so 3 stars for me. read more

I went on the playa bowl app and ordered two bowls. I noticed that they were taking a while and the estimated time of delivery just kept on going up. I called the store just to ask what was going on and the guy who answered the phone was just so rude and dissmissive. We asked if there is any ways he could tell us if it was ready and if it was on the way since we ordered on their app. He rudely stated oh it's ready we have it in the fridge idk when or who's gonna pick it up So they he said u can just pick it up and then he supposedly went to check his tablet and came back with the same answer. so we asked if he could remake it since it has been some time and he stated "Oh it's busy I'm im a rush I can't do that" Just so rude. When we Finally got to the store he gave the same nasty rude attitude(tall man beard and man bun.) Thankfully Juliet I only have her name she was nice enough to remake the bowl that was melted. she was really sweet. But that other dude Like if u don't wanna work food service don't If u can't handle it without getting a nasty attitude. we all get busy we all Work hard man up and don't be rude for people simply asking for fresh food that they paid for. Anyways the bowls look Very nice and can't wait to Dig in. Have a good afternoon read more

I am very loyal to Playabowls in Englewood but lately the bowls have not been good. One bowl I previously received had rotten strawberries in them and the bowl I purchased today was like soup. I live a 5 minute drive from the location and by the time I get home my bowls are usually pretty solid. Today, the bowl wasn't fully complete with enough fruit and it was as if I was eating soup. I am very disappointed. read more

While me and my family are loyal customers of this place as well as many other P.B. I have to say and call the entire staff out on their foul music choice, which is full of ignorant lyrics and curse words. It is even more ignorant that the entire staff does not find this inappropriate while we walk in with our little children. Shame on you for your ignorant and public display of inappropriate lyrics of your so called music, but if you knew any better that would certainly not be your 1st choice I assure you. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR FAMILIES AND UNDER AGED CHILDREN! read more

I love that Englewood now has an acai bowl/smoothie spot, it's definitely something that this growing downtown needed. When you walk in you are greeted by a beach town aesthetic, with chalkboard writing, wooden tables, and a light blue motif throughout. As far as seating goes there are about 5 seating areas, which I think is pretty typical for a spot like this. The menu is way more extensive than any other smoothie bowl spot I've been to. In addition to your acai and pitaya bowls they have green bowls, banana bowls, coconut bowls, and chia pudding bowls. My bowl came with an acai base topped with granola, strawberry, banana, coconut flakes, and honey. The toppings fruits were fresh and crisp, the granola was crunchy, and the perfect amount of honey drizzle was sprinkled throughout. I got to say, I think this is my new go to! The only slight downfall is that parking on palisades ave is hard to come by- but these bowls are worth the struggle. read more

Playa Bowls was really good, but the fruit didn't taste that fresh. That being said, the ambience at this location was great. It was also really clean. Service was great and staff were very kind. Horrible take-out experience I ordered extra coconut shaving and granola and they only gave me condiment cup... pretty absurd due to the fact this is the only playa bowls I experienced this at, other playa bows I would just get extra in a regular cup. We love this place and go there as a family all the time. This Saturday we were there and the music has been atrocious. I had to bring it up to the staffs attention that their music selection and the lyrics are totally inappropriate for young kids to listen to. They looked at me like I have horns on my head but thankfully they changed the music selection and we left shortly after. Unless you are picking up for Uber Eats or you are 21 and older and don't mind explicit lyrics in your music do not visit this place. This is completely unprofessional and inappropriate. read more

if I could give them ZERO For their service i would. They are very rude and the person handling our order was very loud to my daughter when she asked we have been waiting 15 minute.... she said your order has already been handled... when she realized that all of our bowls were still sitting on the counter, instead of apologizing she threw the bowls toward my daughter I wish I dumped the bowl on their counter instead, but we r not rude people like them. read more

I don't get why this playa bowls spot doesn't have a higher rating! I've gotten at least 20 bowls here over the past few years. It's almost always consistently good!!! Very yummy and fresh. I think I've memorized the menu by now... A lot of the workers are high school students from the community and its so great to see them! I actually wanted to work here and am still hoping to next year after my college apps. Whenever school is making me feel done with life, I like to come here. The environment is clean and calming to me. My classmates and I even came here to work on our projects and stuff haha (in the past, pre-covid). I just wish the prices were lower but I guess that's not up to the individual store managers. That being said, I haven't had one in a while... gtg get one asap Hire me playa bowls!!! -a big fan. read more

Havent had many acai bowls before but the ones i have had have been a disappointment and definitely not satiated. For the first time, i actually enjoyed an acai bowl and it was from Playa Bowl! The nutella bowl had the perfect balance of sweet and fruity flavors. The portion was a perfect size for me. The fruit was perfectly ripe and fresh. Acai bowls are not very satisfying for me as a lunch or dinner but they make for the perfect healthy breakfast, dessert or large snack. Next time i am in the mood for an acai bowl, i will only be ordering from Playa Bowl. read more

I am a lover of Acai and Nutella! It is literally life when I am craving something sweet. I usually go to the Rutherford location for my fix, however I found out this location opened up in Englewood, so I decided to try them out. This place is identical to my review at Rutherford. My bowl was delicious as always however, this location is in a main area of Englewood (Palisade Avenue) so depending the time of day, parking can be a hassle. Also, sometimes it's a bit of a wait just to enjoy my bowl. Despite those things, it's always worth it for some fresh Acai. Enjoy! read more

Been to a lot of playa bowls in my experience and have never had this bad of an experience. My friend got her usual Stupid Cupid. Although, it came out fast it was bland as if the base was not made correctly. In addition, my Poke bowl took about twenty minutes to come out, and so did the people that were waiting in front of me. There were about 5-6 girls working there, but they seemed more preoccupied with the song selection, dancing around, and other personal conversations that they were moving at their pace with no regard for customers. They were all very nice and friendly, but only for the little bit of time that they paid attention to the customers. I actually had time to sit and write this review while waiting for my bowl. However, when I got the bowl (Classic Shoyu Ahi Tuna) it was extremely tasty! read more
