The staff was notably welcoming, it totally set the tone and made me feel excited to be there too. The shop was very clean and modern and a place you could totally stay awhile and feel comfy and cozy. The coffee was delicious, lots of depth of flavor and the latte was well made with great foam. The cold brew was also wonderful, rich, smooth flavors without being bitter. We loved it enough to buy beans to take back home. I wish I lived nearby to make this our regular weekend hangout but will make a point to come back when we're in Portland!

The only thing I'd change would be a seating with a bit more support to the lower back.... They have someone out taking orders and the line seems to be moving. I order a medium blue lagoon whipped lemonade for my husband and a medium soy, blended blueberry cobbler frozen latte for myself, and a sandwich. By the time I got to the window, it was only about ten minutes later. Again, with the size of the line, totally fine. But now it all goes wrong - I'm barely greeted, the staff is more concerned with saying goodbye to their teammate departing for the day than giving customer service or focusing on the actual orders. I had just signed up for the app (we just moved and I was planning on coming here more) and there had been a free drink in the app, I ask if I can apply it or if it's app only and the guy helping me doesn't respond, just tells me my new total, okay great it does work. I finally get my drink and I'm disappointed to see there's no blueberry drizzle like in the photos and taste it, it's weak flavored but whatever I'll live. They hand me the other drink and I leave, not realizing it's not a whipped lemonade. My husband tries it, and we realize there's bubbles, meaning they made it with Fuel.....for my husband who can't have caffeine. So frustrating. Be rude or be inaccurate, but don't be both. I'll just stick to Starbucks for a close by caffeine / fun drink fix.

Great place to start the day…read more It only took two years to finally visit Insomnia Coffee, and I love it. Our friend from Houston was complaining about the lack of "good" coffee in the area. I recommended Insomnia and she loved it. The bakery items are also terrific. I am a croissant freak, and theirs is now my 3rd favorite. My first is anywhere in Paris, 2nd is Bakery Noveau in Seattle. My third favorite was La Provence, but the version at Insomnia is even better. It flakes crumbs as it should. The staff is also quite friendly Today I had the blueberry/blackberry scone and it was so good. I did bring a croissant home as my wife agrees with my assessment as well. I will definitely be back, and that will be quite soon.

I'm mostly a latte girl but I still like the strong taste of coffee but I don't get that with their lattes. Imo, their coffee has a really bad aftertaste and isn't ground very well. That and their pastries are my favorite. Plus it's always a nice place to relax and study. Esp on a nice day.

It was a warm day and all their drinks can be made into iced version, so I ordered an iced mocha, my sister got an iced refresher (so many flavors to choose from!), and our friend got an iced caramel horizon macchiato. We also ordered a set of dog biscuits for her doggies. All of the drinks were soooo good! I'm normally not a fan of sugary drinks because they're usually too sweet, but these were just the right amount of sweetness. They also tasted like they were made with higher quality ingredients. I was told the dogs loved the biscuits! The service here is also spectacular. It is run by a very kind father-son team, and they couldn't have been nicer. I really hope this cart sticks around!!

It's packed with savory flavor, and the egg has an incredibly light, cloud-like texture that pairs perfectly with the bacon, peppery arugula, and the rest of the ingredients. It's one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had. Their lattes are just as impressive. I've tried both the ube coconut latte and the black sesame latte, each made with plant-based milk instead of regular milk. The ube coconut latte was smooth, well-balanced, and not overly sweet. The black sesame latte, however, was the standout for me. It had a rich, nutty flavor and is hands-down my favorite of the two. I don't believe it's a regular menu item, so if you happen to see it, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. Loro is on the pricier side, which is why I don't visit as often as I'd like, but I genuinely think it's worth it. The quality of the food and drinks makes it feel like a special treat. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is the parking. The café is tucked between apartments and other retail spaces, so street parking is your only option. I've had to circle the block several times before finding a spot, making it less convenient if you're driving. Parking aside, this is a charming neighborhood coffee shop that consistently serves flavorful food and thoughtfully crafted drinks. If you're looking to treat yourself to an exceptional breakfast sandwich and a beautifully made latte, Loro Coffee is well worth the visit.
