    speciality coffee beans

I recently came back to Coffee Exchange to purchase coffee for friends since I knew they really enjoy Coffee Exchange. Next to the order counter, there is a collection of Coffee Exchange's sustainably sourced, and freshly roasted, specialty coffee. A staff member welcomed me and asked how he could help. I informed him I was looking to purchase a pound of the Guatemala Chajul American Roast and Colombia Fudam American Roast. He asked if I wanted it to be grinded and I said yes. Then, he asked if it was for French press, chemex, espresso, or drip. Since I wasn't sure what brewing method my friends used, he asked if they lived locally and I said yes. Since different methods require different grind sizes to optimize extraction and flavor, he didn't want to grind it and the taste to be negatively affected. He informed me that my friends can bring the coffee beans to Coffee Exchange and they can ground it for them. I appreciated that and he was very friendly.

Let me say I've been to many different cafes. I got an iced latte from here and it was sooooo good! Had to keep going back. It's busy all the time but the coffee and food is worth it.

This place has a great selection tea and some gluten-free snacks. It's always very crowded when I go there however. I guess people like the coffee! That being said, it's often hard to find someplace to sit.

Amazing location and vibes inside. Hot cocoa and chai are both great options for non-coffee drinkers. Busy for a reason!

Friendly service and great coffee. Just a little loud due to the customers who come in and basically shout at each other.

We came on a weekday morning around 11am, and every table was taken! Great ambiance, but definitely very busy with many people working on laptops. 4/5 Caramel Latte -- sustainably sourced house roasted beans, personally I expected a bit more roasty notes from the espresso. There was also many prepackaged syrups along the wall, and wished they had homemade syrups.

the outdoor seating was refreshing on a weekday morning. inside was a bit too stuffy. the line was long but moved decently fast. i got a lemon herbal tea large and it only came with one tea bag, i guess that's why the prices are the same for all sizes of herbal tea but i think it should be two tea bags and an extra charge for the large, tasted a bit diluted. the coffee grinding section was cool but missing some turkish variations to complete the set. baristas were friendly and swift.

Staff was kind of standoffish, but they were busy. Love the overall look of the place, but it gave pretty typical coffee shop vibes. The coffee tasted delicious. Very good cup of coffee for the price.

Love the fairtrade organic selection. wish the vegan baked goods would return or at least a similar option to enjoy with my coffee.

Best coffee beans in Providence. The roasters are knowledgeable and can explain the qualities of the different varieties.

    Not open on weekends?

Sorry Michael, Since the Pandemic started, we've only been able to open 7-3 mon-Fri. We're down to 8 people from 28, so our hours need to be managed to maintain this small staff and not open up for more people inside (social distancing. etc.)… Read more

I parked in the lot where the GPS leads to and entered through the main entrance. We walked through the halls until we started to smell the coffee, indicating to us that we were close. We arrived, and of course, it was the last business. We realized it would've been a lot wiser to park on the street by ISCO the distillery and walk in directly through their entrance. I liked the ambiance; it was very calm with the dim lights and soft tunes (loved their playlist). I also noticed they have different plants all around which caught my attention. I decided to get iced chai latte, and my mom went for the matcha. We took our drinks to a table. They have about 8 tables inside the space as well as a couple tables out in the hallway where there is better lighting and maybe more loud conversation or collaboration friendly. I loved the chai latte. It was very creamy with a cinnamon flavor to start but ended with the taste of cardamom. My mom also enjoyed her matcha but she wished it were hot instead of warm. I would definitely come back to try other drinks.

Super flaky and a lot of delicious flavor from the filling and garnishes. It was very busy when I stopped by midday. They were out of some items already (I missed out on trying the French onion croissant before they replaced it with another menu item). I did find a spot to sit outside but I can see it being even harder to find a seat during peak times. It's a bit off the beaten path yet it's known and popular for a reason. I'm looking forward to visiting again and trying more items and of course the coffee!

I was sold as soon as I read their menu and saw that they had a Halva latte. This is one of my favorites and I can only get it at cafes near Boston. If you haven't had it, it's a must try. Halva is a sweet confection that is sesame based. Brown Bee definitely delivered on this one. I hope it stays on the menu! My wife had a pistachio latte that is made with homemade pistachio syrup. It was 10/10. We didn't plan on eating, but we did end up getting one of their cinnamon rolls with a homemade cream cheese frosting. It was fantastic! They have plenty of seating and although we waited inline, there were several seats available and we got to enjoy our drinks and cinnamon roll. This place is worth the wait in line. We will be going back again this weekend. I want to try the everything croissant with cream cheese baked inside! We may also try one of their breakfast sandwiches. My only recommendation is that they add little chalk boards for each of the croissants with what they are as they had to keep telling everyone what each one was. Still a 10/10.
