The Coffee Break Cafe was a good solid breakfast experience for me while I was in Hampton Beach. I stopped in two mornings in a row for take out orders and the staff was ready, set and go upon opening. The orders came out pretty fast and were packaged nicely with no mistakes. They had a decent variety of bagels that were soft and fresh. They aren't the best bagels you'll ever have, but my sausage, egg and cheese on a pumpernickel bagel was tasty. The kids split a plain bagel with cream cheese and they split a big chocolate chip cookie. Drink wise I had a coffee, espresso shot and my wife enjoyed an Iced Latte with chocolate sauce. At $30 total I didn't think that was too bad considering your in a beach town. On my second trip the kids wanted one of their great looking donuts. They split a chocolate frosted with sprinkles and said it was fresh and moist. On both visits I had their Capone Dark Roast which wasn't a bad cup of coffee. The inside was clean and had several seating options. You could sit at the bar, on a couch or at some high top tables. This was the best breakfast spot for takeout I could find on the lower end of Hampton Beach that was easy to walk to, had parking if you needed it and wasn't charging totally ridiculous prices. read more

Loved this spot!! The interior is cozy and super cute. The woman who took our order at the register made conversation and was so so sweet I felt so welcome. They even gave us free pastries since we came in close to closing! The coffee flavors are unique and so good I loved the white raspberry mocha. After a difficult time finding parking in the lot, we entered and noticed the cashier looking nervous, e.g., not making eye contact or saying hello. Suddenly, I saw her take a bite of what appeared to be a donut that she was carefully hiding in one palm. I turned and looked at my partner, and when I turned back around, she was licking her fingers! I was so disgusted at the thought of this individual handling my food, that I asked my partner to step out of the shop. We discussed what to do next and agreed to politely explain to the teen cashier that what she was doing was unhygienic and ask her to wash her hands before waiting on us. When we went back inside and did just that, she told us that she had just finished washing her hands since she had been eating. So, we did go ahead and order. The build-your-own breakfast sandwich was good, but the price of the sandwich was very hard to figure out since some prices are listed in odd .75 increments, but then others are in .50 amounts. Ordering sauce or dressing on the sandwich would have incurred an additional $1.50 charge which seemed wildly excessive to me, given that it's a breakfast sandwich and you're only going to get a "drizzle" of sauce. So, I avoided ordering the sauce, figuring that the melted cheese would be sufficient. All-in-all the breakfast sandwich was tasty and fresh. The coffee wasn't great...rather weak for a dark roast, but it wasn't awful either. I would definitely recommend returning for the breakfast sandwiches. And this rating would normally be a "4" based upon the food alone. However, the unprofessional and unsanitary behavior of the teen cashier was just revolting initially. And it is hard to erase the image of an employee physically licking their fingers while manning the cash register and serving food to customers! I do appreciate that this young lady appeared to understand that eating at the register/customer order counter necessitated washing her hands. However, I do not believe she should have been eating anywhere other than in an employee break area... in the first place! Unfortunately, I did not see any adults or managers on the premises, although they were likely back in the kitchen. So, we did not know how to report the behavior. Also, the fact that the cashier did seem to recognize that she needed to wash her hands, leads me to wonder if she is not being given a regular break. In other words, perhaps this is not within her control, and she has just been instructed to eat when there is a lull in customers. read more

This is a little gem of a place...quaint, cozy & enjoyable atmosphere. We've only had breakfast but they also have some seemingly good lunch wraps & sandwiches to choose from. My wife got the Vegetarian breakfast wrap & I chose the Irish Eggs Benedict. The eggs benedict was good however my wife's vegetables were not grilled and the corn beef for my dish was just ok...not homemade. The staff is friendly & prompt. I also like that you pay/tip for your food when you walk-in & after your done just throw your plates in the trash & leave, no waiting for a waitress to come along and bring your bill. Was looking to grab a quick bite to eat on my way out. My sister said to try this place, so I did. This may be the greatest breakfast sandwich I have ever had. All of the parts worked perfectly together. I ordered the Live free or die sangy, which is 2 local fresh eggs over med, corned beef hash, bacon, Vermont pepper jack cheese, green monster sauce on multi grain toast. The eggs were runny and fluffy, the corn beef hash had a perfect crust on it which added to the sangy. The cheese was kinda hidden, but that was ok because it didn't overpower everything else. Nice crisp bacon and the star of the show was the monster sauce which added a nice flavor at the end. The sandwich was well thought out and everything worked in perfect harmony with each other. The sandwich is a 5 all day. Can't wait to go back, but do I get the same thing or see if there is something better. read more

This place was delicious! The service was fast and friendly, the cafe is adorable and has plenty of seating. The large iced coffees were bigger than most cafes (like a dunkin large). There was free parking in front of the cafe (which is hard to find in the area). Best of all, the breakfast sandwiches were delicious! I highly recommend the "live free or die". It had 2 eggs, they were delightfully drippy and messy, with corn beef hash on a hearty multigrain bread. My only complaint was that I asked for no bacon (due to allergy) and they did put bacon on the sandwich anyway. In my case, it's not a dangerous allergy but I have to remove a star because of their oversight. read more

I decided this wasn't working for me so I had the young girls remake it & tried the cold brew.. awful! Weak yet burnt tasting all at the same. Also, what happened to service with a smile? THE BEST BAGLE BFAST SANDWICH ON THE PLANET!! It wasn't like a hard bagel with everything sliding off. It was a nice semi soft bagel that was a delight to eat. I got the French which is a French toast bagel with egg cheese bacon sausage and drizzle of maple syrup. It was awesome. I pray theY change the name of it tho, maybe the White Mountaineer or Granite Stater ( not a fan of the French ) lol. Whatever this owner is doing they're doing it right! Great coffee too. read more

Grabbed some food and bev for the road trip back home after a concert at the Casino. We got a wicked strong (delicious) regular coffee, perfectly brewed iced black tea, the Jalapeno wrap, regular egg wrap with cheese and a fresh out of the oven sticky bun. The JW was enormous with tons of fillings and just the right amount of heat. My EW was missing the cheese but they must have used 4 eggs in that thing because it was enough for breaky and lunch. The sticky bun was devoured when we got home and popped it in the microwave for a minute. All of this for about $30. Food was divine and filling, caffeine kept us going for the awful traffic filled trip home and the staff were really nice and friendly. This cafe is tucked away in a little strip mall along the Hampton main drag and it's easy to miss. Inside it's clean and welcoming with a modern coffee shop feel. We've only had the opportunity to try their breakfast sandwiches because we always seem to arrive right before their lunch kick off at 11:30am. However, their breakfast sandwiches are bomb! You're able to choose how you want your eggs prepared which is a nice option since at some establishments you have to stick to their chosen egg preparation. They have a bunch of speciality sandwiches on their menu or you can choose to build your own. Today we chose to each get a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich but I got mine on and everything bagel and my fiancé got his on and English muffin. I usually get their cold brew coffee which is deliciously smooth and my fiancé likes their mocha lattes because they have a strong espresso flavor and don't taste like chocolate milk. The staff is always really friendly and today was no exception. I saw a previous review stating that their staff weren't wearing masks but when we were there today everyone was. Prices are tipping into the higher end (today 2 drinks, 2 breakfast sandwiches and a cookie cost $25) but everything is really fresh and tasty so we don't mind a bit of a splurge whenever we're in the area. read more

Being stuck in very heavy traffic (90 degrees outside) on Ocean Blvd for over a good hour, I was very thirsty and in need of a pick-me up. I pulled over into a small plaza which has a laundrymat, arcade (what a joke!), and Coffee Break Cafe. There's also free off-street customer parking, sweet!! The Coffee Break Cafe serves up hot & cold coffee/espresso drinks, lattes, mochas, frozachinos, tea, baked goods, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, pizza, and breakfast too. The place is order at the counter. The walls are decorated with local artwork and there's table seating in an adjacent room. I got in here around 3:25PM and the place was closing up at 3:30PM (on weekends), quite early on a popular day. I ordered a large iced coffee ($2.85) and a baklava ($1.95) to go. The Iced Coffee was pretty decent at first, but the ice cubes melted really fast, watering down the drink. Some coffee houses up north in the Lakes Region offer coffee ice cubes, so the strength of the drink is not weakened. The baklava was really good, which was a good sized triangle shaped piece with layers of phyllo dough, crushed nuts, cinnamon, and lots of sticky honey. The service was prompt and the place was closed as I got back in my ride. The barista who took care of me, headed off shortly after, rollerblading towards the beach area.
