We couldn't have been more disappointed with this restaurant. It took over an hour to get our food, and our waitress didn't even seem to notice we were there. There was a stray cat in the parking lot of the restaurant and she cared much more about it, even taking it in to the restaurant and back by the kitchen. Who knows what this stray cat brought in to the dining room? It absolutely made me not want to eat my food that was prepared there. read more

We ordered the seafood pasta and and meat ball spaghetti. The portion size was very large but the flavor was lacking. The meatball was very soft and bland and the sauce was not as flavorful as I would like. My husband's seafood pasta were okay. High hopes got me down on this small but nice and cozy spot. For appetizer I had the spring rolls which were nothing really that special, same ol same ol. I also had the seared ahi tuna tapas but the tuna wasnt seared at all it was more like poke on a gluten free chip, meh. For the main course I had the lamb shanks and they were pretty tasty with the mashed potatoes and veggies, it was a huge portion too. I really wanted the lobster but 60 bucks seemed like it was way over priced, oh well. I probably won't go back as my standard is 4 stars +. read more

I visited Cody's once over Vietnamese New Year and once the other day and was completely thrilled with the food and service both times. On Vietnamese New Years the staff handed out hilarious handmade fortune cookies and featured great Vietnamese food. I am a vegetarian and the menu had so many options for me - I was also assured by the waiter that almost any dish could be made vegetarian if I wanted. Every item we got was delicious, unique and beautiful. I especially loved the fusion pastas, we tried an amazing chick pea ravioli with a curry sauce and vegetables. We went to Cody's last night for dinner with a friend that had been here before. Was a bit hesitant when we pulled up as the outside is pretty plain. Once we were inside, completely wonderful experience! There were 2 people working there, the owner and the waiter. s The owner, who is also a trained sommelier, helped us pick out a wonderful wine for dinner. The waiter was very helpful as well with beer and food choices. There were 3 of us for dinner and we shared several tapas, a main course, and a couple desserts. I can't begin to say how wonderful the food was, everything! The atmosphere was great, the food was exceptional and the prices were very reasonable. Look forward to going back. read more

This is the custest divey place in Aurora. It is very enjoyable. It is actually in a strip mall. The staff is very friendly. The place is really small, but I think you could have a group there with a reservation. The drinks are usually pretty good, but my friend had a mule, and it wasn't that great. The salmon salad is divine!! It is actually one of the best salmon salads in Aurora. The salmon pasta dish is also really good. I highly recommend this restaurant. Degrading in quality. This place is not what it used to be. At the last visit the salmon had a very distinctive fishy odor and taste. The owner seemed to be more interested in cycling people on tables that she literally rushed us to pay and leave. We had an amazing time at Cody's last night! Cody's is the more casual restaurant to their upscale sister restaurant, Bettola's which is two doors down in the same strip mall. Due to the pandemic, Bettola's was closed but they are serving both menus at Cody's, so we got to choose from casual to upscale and could mix and match. The food was delicious! Appetizers-warm olives and stuffed meatballs-both were yummy! For entrees, we got Rigatoni Arribiata, which had sausage, tomatoes and peppers-so flavorful and savory; the Lobster Lasagna, which had a crab bisque sauce between layers of toast and a chunk of lobster on top-very creative presentation and delicious. Josh, the server was amazingly attentive and very knowlegeable about the menu. Schaefer, the som, gave me a delightful recommendation for wine. Hubby had the chocolate cake with ice cream which he devoured in minutes. I opted to get a glass of their housemade limoncello-delish! We will be back! read more

WOW thanks Yelp for another fantastic recommendation! We checked out Cody's Café on Friday when trying to decide on a place for dinner instead of cooking. I had heard great things about this place and am glad we checked it out. Cody's Café is located on the north side of Iliff tucked away in a little strip mall. Don't let looks deceive you, as this was a pretty good find. The menu is kind-of an Italian-Asian fusion, yet super delicious. When I checked in on Yelp, I was surprised to find out that with an entrée purchase, you get a free appetizer. Our server recommended the crab cakes wrapped around sugar cane, which were ballin'! They were the perfect size and cooked to perfection. I had never had a crab cake that was prepared this way, however, the sugar cane and sauce they added made it very unique and flavorful. For dinner, I had the chicken parmesean while my partner ordered some lemongrass mushroom pasta that was by far way better than my own. I can't complain on my decision, the chicken parm was pretty standard and tasty. The lemongrass sausage pasta was by far crazy delicious. The flavor combinations meld together into a savory, mouth watering plate of awesomeness. If you are on this side of town, Cody's Café is definitely worth a stop. read more

Let's start with the bad. Cody's isn't exactly in the most happening part of town, but believe me when I tell you, the food at this Italian eatery is worth the trip. The atmosphere is tremendous, the space is cozy - the walls are decorated with interesting art- including a handsome mural of Cody, the restaurant's K-9 namesake. Cody's also had some great wine specials, and an impressive selection of local beers on tap. I started with the wontons; to die for. Light, crisp, and served with a tangy, homemade raspberry sauce. For my entree, I went the chicken parm, which may seem like a strange thing to pair with wontons, but don't try to tell me that you wouldn't turn a double play at a restaurant that had wontons, AND chicken parmesan. Supple al dente noodles, thick flavorful sauce, moist perfectly breaded chicken; magnificent. I could barely contain my excitement when I was chowing down, my meal would not have been out of place if it came out of the kitchen at an eatery in the Little Italy section of NYC. Denver isn't known for top quality Italian food, Cody's proved to be a surprising exception. Next came desert, delicious fried pineapple triangles jaggedly protruding from a heaping portion of homemade ice cream. Having worked my way into the unenviable position of being too full too full for desert, I first watched with pained hesitation as companions gorged on this decadent confection. Full or not full, I knew that I had to partake. This sounds like hyperbole, but I can honestly tell you that making a glutton of myself never felt so good. Try Cody's, you won't regret it. read more

My boyfriend and I tried this place out after seeing some pretty good reviews. Man oh man were we disappointed! When we first arrived I was excited the place wasn't packed ( only two other tables) so we were hoping for quick service...well that was another let down. There was one guy there who was bartending, taking orders and running food. My boyfriend ordered a Manhattan and when it finally arrived the first thing I noticed was the skimpy amount in the glass..two sips and it was gone ( no exaggeration). We ordered what they called "tapas" but really it was over priced appetizers. We had the Mushroom wontons which were pretty good..but tiny in size and you only get 4..not worth the money. The real disappointment came with the "goat cheese crustini". The menu should have read Caramelized onion crustini with a touch of goat cheese. The amount of goat cheese on this "tapas" was embarrassing!!! I included a picture. Entree time! My boyfriend had the fish and chips. He said it tasted OK. It came with fresh cut fries..but they were lukewarm and you didn't get that many. The majority of his plate was taken up by some shredded cabbage that served no purpose. I went with a simple chicken fettichini. Who knew you could mess that up. It came with broccoli...or should I say 3 small pieces of broccoli. The dish was lukewarm and had a very strange after taste. My boyfriend said it tasted like they added a slurry but didn't cook it long enough. I said it tasted like the sauce was made with something rancid. I of course did not finish it. It was a very upsetting dinner! We both left there hungry. So upsetting! I would not recommend this place. read more

Some of the best pasta, sauce and meatballs that I've had in a very long time. This charming little place is tucked into a strip mall between Havana and Parker Rd. on Iliff. I'm not exactly sure what I was expecting but the pasta was cooked perfectly. The meatballs were moist and flavorful - the right amount of seasoning and the sauce had the perfect seasoning with the right amount of kick. We also ordered the Shrimp BLT Sandwich and it was good, don't get me wrong but the spaghetti and meatballs were the star of the show. The service was friendly and quick and the prices are very reasonable. So if you find yourself in this neck of the woods, stop in and grab a bite - you won't be disappointed. read more

Who knew that this place would be this ridiculously good! We went for lunch so I don't think we got the full dinner menu, but I will so be back when I come to the Denver/Aurora area again to try them for dinner! The fish and chips were perfectly done and very tasty and the creamy coleslaw was so good, and that was the least of the fair we had. The Kitchen Sink Pizza... one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Perfectly balanced between meat and veggies, it was crazy good! Then we tried what sounded like it would be just too much... it's one of the best desserts I've ever had. The Chocolate Hazelnut Fried Wontons with fresh fruit and ice cream was unbelievably good! The charming waiter was so nice and pleasant and the simple but refined decor was excellent, I also very much appreciated that they displayed local artists paintings for sale, I was very nearly tempted to buy one but had no easy way to get it home. I can't recommend this place enough! The only downside I can say is that they deserve to be in a free standing building of their own instead of the strip mall where they're out now. Hands down the best pasta I have had in Colorado. We ended up here after trying to go to a larger chain restaurant nearby who's wait was somewhat out of control. We turned to Yelp to see what our other pasta options were and happened to be right across the street from this amazing restaurant. Don't let the exterior fool you, the moment you walk through the doors you are transported to an upscale dining experience. We started with the mushroom potstickers. Perfectly cooked with a sundried tomato sauce that doubled as a dressing for the greens the potstickers were served on. I had the Angel-Hair Chicken which was AMAZING. Fresh tasting veggies and grilled chicken rounded out this light and delicious pasta dish. My boyfriend tried the fish and chips. Perfectly breaded the fish was hearty enough to fill him up and the chips were hand-sliced and fried fresh. Wonderful experience and an afforable price. read more

We happened to be in the area and looked at Yelp for a nice bar. Cody's looked interesting. My wife and I drove up to the entrance, it was a strip mall that didn't look inviting. We went inside and were very surprised. It was clean, quiet, and extremely comfortable. Greg was the bartender, waiter, take out guy, he did it all....and with a great attitude and friendly smile. They had happy hour, we did the wontons, absolutely great. The coconut shrimp was outstanding but the pizza was over the top. We had the kitchen sink and I told my wife I'd move to Denver just to be near this place. I don't write reviews but because people before me recommended Cody's I wanted to be sure if you are looking at this you will not be disappointed. Sadly, I am pretty late reviewing this place. I stopped in in December after reading some great reviews. One Friday evening, I felt like indulging in an HH, but wanted to be close to home and I was by myself. After realizing this place is very, very close, it was pretty ridiculous that I'd never been here. I came in and it was pretty close to Christmas and the place was dead. I was greeted immediately and seated. The decor was nice and better than I expected for the strip mall location, in all honesty. The server told me about the HH specials and I decided to order wine and ordered the crab cake wrapped sugar cane and goat cheese crostini for appetizers. The crab cake was absolutely delicious. The goat cheese crostini sounded better than it looked, as the bread wasn't toasted, so it was kind of strange. I was still sort of hungry, so I decided to order the lemongrass sausage & penne dish. This was so flavorful. The addition of lemongrass is very unique. I took my leftovers home, which were still good, but very stinky. LOL I haven't yet been back, but writing this review is a good reminder that I need to do so. read more

I found Cody's only by the sheer luck of Yelp. It is tucked into a small neighborhood strip mall and is tiny. All the more reasons to love it! It was quaint and refreshing. Once inside you are surrounded by pure hipster love. I enjoyed being able to slip into a comfy booth while enjoying a local micro-brew (on tap by the way) and surfing the web. Hey, sometimes a girl gets tired of the coffee shop and just needs a cold one. I originally went there with my son and we had lunch. I scarfed down the Lemongrass Sausage mostly because it was highly recommended on Yelp secondly, because I freckin' love Lemongrass on anything. My son had the Rib-eye Steak Sandwich which he enjoys anything meat. We liked it so much that I decided to bring my hubby in for a try. His comment was, "Cody's is an Italian restaurant" lol. I must admit Cody's don't sound very Italian but I think that is super cool -- who needs another Anthony's or Tony's anyway?? I just figured Cody must be Anthony's awesome little brother. My hubby had the Microbrew Battered Fish and Chips. We loved it. The only thing we did not love was the price but it was worth it. Next time we will join Cody for happy hour. Hopefully, Happy Hour will be more affordable so we can stay longer. read more

Okay---Last night went to Cody's with my fella'. Nick was our server and was fantastic! Very courteous and polite. Provided the specials and oh yes--Gave us our Yelp Free appetizer! We had the spinach and cream cheese wontons.. Yikes! Dangerous for a diet, but the taste is wonderful!! The addition of raspberry sauce around it just was the right fit! (Trust me!) He had the mushroom pot stickers--I'm allergic to mushrooms, though he said WOW, they are WONDERFUL!! So you'll have to trust him. I had the special-Penne pasta with chicken meatballs stuffed with mozzarella.. It was seared to be like a mozzarella stick in pasta. It was *A* mazing. The gent had the rib-eye linguine.. It was wonderful, though we both like the special better. (Nice to share!). Jessica came out after we ate to talk about dessert. I said I couldn't do it. I'm at that tipping point, and so was the big guy. She was so friendly and talked about the restaurant and welcomed us.. I told her my Mom was a former professional baker.. Which sent her back to give us a complimentary dessert to try. Out comes a chocolate masterpiece. We couldn't eat it all. But it was perfect. Warm, moist, and served with a strawberry to take away the too sweet of the chocolate. The flavors were well thought out. Needless to say---This little hole in the wall restaurant is on our HAVE to do again list. By the way, the bar is small yet their are choices to get what you want. This place is for real a diamond in the rough; never would expect it to be there, never would go there unless you knew about it. It is my new go-to restaurant in the 'hood. They have really good happy hour drink specials, but even if you don't get there for the happy hour, the prices aren't bad for what you get. I agree that this place is not super authentic Italian, but I don't expect it to be, and everything I have eaten there I have liked. They have cute spins on food (like a coconut shrimp martini app that's incredible and a shrimp BLT) great pizza (I recommend the Kitchen Sink) and some classic dishes like Chicken Parmigiana that are pretty decent. This place is small, but somehow it works and combines an intimacy with a place to go watch the game or hang out with a group of friends. And they host a Texas Hold 'Em tournament on Mondays, I believe, which makes them even cooler! Go there anytime, but especially for a midweek my-job-is-killing-me-need-glass-of-wine pick me up, you won't be disappointed. read more

Tried this place for my birthday dinner last night. Pretty darn amazing. Here's what we had: Apps Crab cake taco - delicious, the sweet potato chips that come on the side are homemade and are delish! Spinach cheese wontons - the spinach is mixed in with the cheese, creamy and yummy inside, crunchy and fried outside Goat cheese crostini - Nice blend of sweet and savory, mixing the unions and cheese made it great Entrees Artichoke penne - vodka sauce was soooo good! My favorite pasta of the two Lemongrass sausage penne - the sausage is bit sweet (I prefer spicy) but still very good Desserts Tiramisu - creamy and sweet, this was to die for! I took the in-laws to Cody's this past Wednesday night, and it was excellent! Everyone loved their meal, and my pesto salmon over angel hair was delicious! I had it for lunch the next day, and it was even better! (which I didn't think was possible...) The waitstaff was very sweet and accommodating, and when we found out that our bottle of wine was HALF price on Wednesdays, I instantly became a big Cody's fan... :-) We will definitely be back! read more

What a great place! Rolling up on this restaurant you may wanna put your blinders on so your not distracted on the end goal which is an awesome meal at a cool little place. The inside decoration definitely turns around the initial impression and is very comfortable with a cool dark vibe with some pretty sweet artwork adorned on the walls. I've been here now three times and have had amazing meals each and every stop in. Lunch is a great time to stop by, since not a lot of traffic and delicious sandwichs are to be expected. The Chicken Parm, Meatball and rib eye steak sandwhichs are all incredible. Perfectly cooked and seasoned french fries make for an incredibly affordable and delicious meal.
