On our way to Denver Int'l Airport, we stopped at Cholon for an early dinner. They have to locations - downtown and Central Park. We arrived during happy hours, so please to try dishes at a discount. The service was very friendly and atmosphere clean and "modern." The dishes we ordered were tasty, especially the pork belly bao. This I'll have to try to make myself since it was so delicious. However the soup dumplings (aka xiao long bao), even though they were a colorful red, were not enough - only two for $7. Other restaurants serve 10 for $15. I would've given 5 stars if not for this reason and recommend they increase the quantity per order.

Enjoyed the $16 Bento Box + Drink Lunch deal at YumCha in EastBridge today. Was sizable & delicious. Can't wait for their Patio to open for the season!

If you've long wondered what Cholon means, wonder no more- it translates to "big market" in Vietnamese and is named after the largest Chinese-influenced market in Saigon. If you have dined in both locations, you will note that the dishes are familiar but with an exciting twist. Hence, the modern asian delineation. This second location in the Central Park area is sparsely decorated but classy. You can't miss the ceiling in the dining room. What's exciting, too, is the team is going to be joined by dim sum chef from @lonsymensma's NY days. Executive Chef Michelle Xiao will be showcasing her dim sum expertise! She comes with over 30 years of dim sum experience! I can't wait to go back! Congratulations Chef Lon Symensma and business partner Christopher Davis-Massey for another exciting adventure! Great food, awesome staff and wonderful host and owner Chef Lon Symensma!

It's been awhile since we've been in a decided to stop in for an early dinner during happy hour. So glad we did! We started with the spicy margaritas which we really tasty. We also really enjoyed the Brussel Sprouts and the French Onion Soup Dumplings. Hand rolls were also good. Our server was excellent and we look forward to coming back again soon.

One of the best food experiences I have enjoyed since moving to Denver, ChoLon's rocked, combining an elite menu with exceptional customer service. Located in Central Park, this restaurant shares a large parking lot with other businesses, and would never have issues. They offer takeout and reservations. I grabbed a reservation via Monica, and we were pleasantly greeted at the door. The atmosphere is outstanding, with just the right amount of lighting. The staff effectively set the tone for a visit. They separate their food options into "small bites," which can be shared as dinner choices or appetizers, and "large plates," which are good-sized main dishes that can either be an individual portion or an excellent family-style selection. Here is where ChoLon excelled and separated themselves. Our server, Jung, was elite, taking time to explain the menu to first-timers, and at the same time, he was mentoring a new staffer. Flawless presentation with a great feel for the menu and superlative interpersonal skills, helping us make some choices with solid guidance. Our order was bigger than normal, but we were already enamored with this place. Selected four Small Bites and one Large Plate, and they were all terrific! Kaya Toast - unique tasting toast with coconut jam and egg drop, the fabulous explosion of flavor, and great advice to dip the toast all the way into the concoction. Wow. My favorite part of a great meal! Wagyu Beef - four skewers that were delicious and served with a spicy Hong Kong sauce that was so good. French Onion Dumplings - another unique dish that was yummy and full of taste. Just be careful when piercing into the dumplings. Scallion Pancakes - so very good, served with a caramel yogurt sauce and incredibly good, Large Plate was Miso Glazed Salmon with Baby Bok Choy and Cucumber Jicama, and it was absolutely incredible! A rare combination of spectacular food and flawless customer service, without question, we are returning!

I've been waiting to try this place for over a year, and it definitely exceeded the hype. We decided to try out Denver Restaurant Week so we could try a couple of things. The dinner was the perfect amount for two people and I left feeling so satisfied. I could eat an absurd amount of those French onion soup dumplings, no joke they are one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, some really cool architecture and really cozy/inviting lighting. We came back for the bottomless soup dumpling night and it was unreal. All you can eat dumplings left me feeling unbelievably satisfied. Our server was working hard and made sure we got as many dumplings as our heart desires. We tried an array of cocktails, all of which were amazing. And the new crème brûlée dessert is also a must try.

Read on some sites that we had to try the French onion soup xlbs as the one thing to eat in Denver. So we came for lunch before an afternoon flight home and had a great time! Food was all tasty, ambience very classy, and a great way to end our vacation. They ran out of French onion soup xlbs (strange if that's the specialty!), we're out of kaya, and it's all pricey, but still a very nice experience.

An innovative twist on Asian food - Cholon never fails to surprise. I've been for both weekend dim sum and for happy hour and it's great food all around. Their most iconic dish is the French onion soup dumpling - make sure to get 1 order for each person, it's going to be a favorite! My favorite breakfast drink is the Vietnamese iced coffee martini - so delicious! You can make a reservation on opentable (with a CC on file). I have just shown up before and it's not too hard to get a table. Can't wait to go back!

Great atmosphere inside and have a covered patio, which is where we sat. We had a reservation for 5:00 and we got seated at a table on the patio. We luckily were early enough to make it in time for their happy hour menu which had some great choices on it. For our starters we had the curtido chopped salad, with grilled cabbage and beets 7.5/10. We also had the butter lettuce and tarragon which was very good 8/10. For our first appetizer we had the sea island red peas and cauliflower, very good, loved the cauliflower 8.3/10. We also had the burger and fries from the happy hour menu. The burger was cooked well, 8/10, a little too much sauce but homemade ketchup and homemade bun, it's hard to go wrong. If anything the patty was a little thin, but the fries were great and crispy 8.5/10. For our entrees we had the roasted half chicken 7/10. The sauce was just alright and the first piece of chicken was a little dry but the rest of the slices were very good. We also had the pork tenderloin tournedos, pretty straight forward, great prunes and potatoes 7.5/10, the sauce made the dish. Nothing caught our eye for dessert, however we were pretty full and there are a lot of great dessert options at Stanley Marketplace. We enjoyed our time here and will look forward to coming back in the future!

We had a 5:45 PM reservation but the dining room was already full, so we sat at the bar and were immediately offered menus, water, and house-made chips and homemade salsa (Aaaah-mazing salsa!). Service was friendly and welcoming from our server Hunter to the bartenders and food runners -- everyone was happy to chat. We sampled a couple cocktails (Elderflower Prickly Pear and the Spicy Mezcal). If you like mezcal, the Spicy Mezcal is a perfect balance of heat and bright citrus. The prickly pair is too sweet for my taste buds but love the presentation. For my entrée I tried the Nomada's Best of Plate -- a grilled taco, chicken enchilada (I added green chili), and crispy carnitas (I ate these with a tortilla). All three were excellent and distinct; the chicken enchilada was my favorite and likely what I'll order next time. My wife had the crispy carnitas fajitas -- a generous portion and very easy to eat thanks to a thoughtful presentation. Highly recommend -- just be sure to make a reservation.

Three of us had driven from significant distances. Two were late, due to crazy snow. Our friend had made reservations for the high-top table IN THE BAR AREA. Upon arrival, the hostess DID mention to our organizer that the table was ours until 6. That sounded odd, but certainly they wouldn't expect us to leave if we're still eating and drinking, right? We were having a great time, and being gracious despite a few issues, like my friend getting a strangely colored margarita that tasted bad -- unlike her first, or any of the others in the entire restaurant. She explained and asked for it to be remade. Another girl brings it back again, making her re-explain. She begrudgingly took it back and replaced it. At 5:40, as people started bugging out, our snow-delayed friend arrived and our waitress took her food order, along with another friend's order for a pitcher of beer. They arrived quickly. At 5:50, we got a visit from manager Alex, asking us to wrap things up and leave. We were confused, and asked why this was necessary, since we were in the BAR section, had just been served food and beer, and people were leaving. Alex was not amenable to applying practicality to the situation. My friend who'd just been served her pitcher of beer asked which option she was supposed to exercise...pay for and leave her full pitcher, or slam it and then drive home to Boulder. Alex didn't like that, and reluctantly offered to comp the quesadilla and beer -- like it was some grand gesture. As we gathered our things, more customers left, leaving four seats open around the actual bar. EUREKA! We didn't have to leave! My friend and I sat in two, and two others sat across from us. We knew we'd find one more, and we did. Cool, right? Nope. Alex confronts me and says, I noticed you guys moved to the bar. (I thought I was being punked.) So I reply, "Yes, is there a problem with us taking available seats after having to leave our table?" He says something about us being rude. To which I said, "I'm not being rude. If you're referring to us talking amongst each other about how this situation was handled, we have the right to speak." He then informed us he was cutting us off. I wasn't one of the ones comped, and we weren't drunk. He just didn't like that we pushed back. He left, and seconds later, the drink I'd ordered before this "chat" was placed in front of me. When Alex saw it, he pulled bartender Hunter aside and had words with him. Which made matters worse, because Hunter is so kind, and he knew we were cool. Anyway, I happily sipped my drink, and we started watching the Avs. We weren't obnoxious, but it was loud, and since we were seated across the bar from each other, we needed to shout a bit. Around this time, we noticed the table we'd been forced to vacate was STILL EMPTY -- 20 minutes after being booted from it. The table right next to it? Also empty. A few minutes later, we noticed he'd moved some girls who'd been at the bar since our arrival TO OUR TABLE. Obviously to make it look like the party that wanted it had shown up. So I took a pic of that with my phone. And a video of how many seats and tables were open. Nobody knew what I was doing, or cared, except Alex, who'd been spying on us. He comes back AGAIN, suddenly claiming our "BEHAVIOR" is a problem. Despite us trying to reason with him about what this experience was like for us as customers, he tells us to leave. I have been kicked out of two bars in my life. Once justifiably at age 22, and again on this day, age 60. All because of a manager on a power trip. We ended up going to Mezcal four miles away where the food and the service were exemplary, and we were welcomed! Lady Nomada? Lady, No-thank-you. You can't defend a policy like that, take a food and drink order right before the time limit, take our table and then harass us for not liking it. There are too many cantinas out there to treat people this way.
