I was trying to find some thing different for lent fridays. I came across this hidden gem! I got my husband who hates seafood hooked. Anything on the menu is good but my go to is the coco shrimp plate. Portions are great and staff are so friendly. Definitely got themselves repeat costumers. read more

Pleasantly surprised!!! I was not expecting the explosion of flavor nor the abundance of food that comes in each dish. The exterior gave me false impression of a basic white wall'ed dining experience but they definitely jazzed up the space with live plants, surf boards and fishing decor. This concept is a stunning example of mastering a few menu items and executing them exceptionally well... 6 pieces of shrimp, a salad and buttered rice. I had the sweet and spicy shrimp & my husband had the lemon herb both with the ginger salad dressing. My husband is not a small dude, when he eats he expects volume of food to sustain his very active life style and CoCo Shrimp definitely delivered!! I even had three shrimps & rice left over for lunch the next day. Both our orders were delivered to the table in a very quick amount of time - so perfect for those weekday quick lunches away from the office. My sweet and spicy shrimp was deliciously warm and zingy and full of flavor. The butter rice was definitely soft and every grain was delectable. I definitely appreciated the hand washing station to quickly wash off any sticky or shrimpy juices before we left to go about the rest of our day. Yum!!! I tried the sampler and the coco shrimp is the best fried coconut shrimp I've had! Very high quality. Will be back for more. The poppyseed dressing and salad are great. The rice makes it a complete meal. The rice comes with a butter sauce by default that I'll leave off next time, as it feels heavy. Can't wait to come back! The sweet & hot is also good, it's the coco shrimp but in a sauce. And the spicy shrimp was good (grilled) but really salty. The staff and manager are very friendly and nice. This place is amazing.... When they get your order correct. I've ordered from coco shrimp now probably 12 times and of all those times the tacos have only been right 3 times. Tonight I ordered 3 double tacos with NO sweet chili sauce, my order arrives and there is so much sweet chili sauce on all of them it's dripping out of the tacos. I've placed the same order in store and guess what, they were still smothered in sweet chili sauce. Is it really that hard to read a ticket and follow instructions? The shrimp boxes I order are always on point but having my order messed up this many times makes me not want to come back. Also went in on Friday 8/23 at 9:20pm and was told the taco station in the back had already been closed and I needed to get something else.... I understand shutting it down at 9:40 but not almost an hour before you close on a Friday night. read more

The food is delicious! But the portions are huge. I shamelessly walked out carrying half of my lunch. On the way out, I noticed several other people doing the same. My only gripe with them is I wish they had a smaller version. Otherwise, it's a wonderful place filled with very friendly people. read more

Just got home after having dinner with a friend at a very busy Plano store. Both of us had Sampler Platters and shared the different flavors. Shrimp is succulent--not rubbery. Oh, my, it was a suck-your-finger experience. Again, the garlic butter rice is indeed a thing of beauty, and the ginger dressing for the salad is awesome!! Excellent price!! Best shrimp I've ever tasted...best value for your bucks as well! They literally give you 2 lbs of food...I know, because when I get take-out I'm amazed at how heavy the bag is! The first time I came here I took the box out and weighed it. It was over 2 lbs! Granted, mostly rice...but 6 delicious shrimp on top with a yummy garlic butter sauce on top. You can get half salad and half rice, which I do now, and it's great! The coco shrimp is my favorite, but I've ordered all their options now. I've ordered take-out several times and am always sooo happy! Delicious and fresh food. OH, and their "Double tacos" are a fantastic value and absolutely crave worthy. We were already fans of the Coco Shrimp Richardson location but had to go check out the new Plano location that just opened!! This restaurant seems a little smaller than the one in Richardson but it's super cute with fun murals and lighting. Even though we went on the big opening day, service was still fast. Friendly employees and we were greeted upon arrival. We like the spicy shrimp and grilled pineapple. We are excited to have a location closer to us in Plano now! read more

Also, poppy seed dressing for my salad. All 3 of my shrimps were delicious. It's hard to pick a fave, but I think it would be the herb one. These are served with a butter sauce, which flavors the bed of white rice it was served on...Bonus! The salad is made with leafy lettuce, cucumbers, and craisins, so the poppy seed dressing was the perfect choice. This dressing is less sweet than most, as it is vinegar forward, and was a nice surprise. The ginger dressing was heavy on the ginger, which was not for me! All in all, a great lunch.
