I never thought about deep friend shimp and rice as a dish (they have other types also lol)! It was seriously delicious, the way the make it. The side salad that comes with it was what you would expect but...BUT...the best part of the salad is the Poppyseed Vinaigrette Dressing! I put it on my salad for sure, but I started adding it to my rice and shrimp and holy crap the flavor is ridiculously good. Each time I go back I get extra to put over my rice and dip my shrimp in. Another dish, is the Coco Taco. Look, I dont think fish and shrimp go in tacos...its sounds gross. However, the coco shrimp (coconut shrimp) in a freaking taco is freaking genius and absolutely delicious. It has no right being that good, that shell is something special too. (not even sure what that taco shell is, its not regular taco shell but it sold the experience). This is the best place I could imagine being recommended. The interior is pretty nice and relaxing, more laid back...don't know why anyone wouldnt just eat there, why go home and eat cold shrimp instead of eating it fresh and hot lol. Coco Shrimp is amazing! The manager, Robbie (a big Texas Rangers fan), makes sure everyone's having a great time and their food is to their liking. He personally checks on each table which is really nice. The food is super delicious, especially my favorite the shrimp sampler with Sweet & Spicy, Butter Garlic, and Lemon Herb Shrimp. The salad dressing is super tasty and, surprisingly even though I usually don't like fruit or craisins in my salad, works so well together with the dressing. Even though I'm not a fan of coconut shrimp, their Sweet & Spicy shrimp is just yum! Don't go by the pictures - you'll definitely get full with just one box. Also, being from Hawaii, I can appreciate the Jawaiian -- Hawaiian-style reggae -- playlist of songs and the surf videos playing on the TV. Don't forget to bring your cup back next time, you can refill it for just 99 cents! The manager came around on my first visit to introduce himself and see how we were enjoying the food. He gave a very good first impression. On this particular visit, I decided to get the sampler. You can choose any 2 or 3 flavors. I went with Coco, Sweet and Spicy, and the Garlic Butter. All the shrimp entrees come with a generous portion of rice and a salad. The dressing choices for the salad are an in-house made poppy seed one and ginger. I highly recommend the poppy seed (or green one). Its like a vinegarette and slightly sweet. An amazing lunch, I must say. I have tried all of the flavors and my faves are hands down the Garlic Butter and the Coco Shrimp. I've also had the shrimp tacos... I nearly melted in my seat with the first bite. Inside each taco is rice, lettuce and of course, that sauce with the crispy, coconut-ness of the shrimp.... so good! Honestly, I'm shocked I don't have a review posted, I swore I gave them one ages ago! In the last year I've ordered delivery here, both to home and work, at least 10 times and I enjoy it every time. The portions are very large for the size. In fact so large that I often get the Keiki plate instead, which is the kids meal. I'm a bit of a grazer by nature, but I cannot finish it in one sitting as the salad and rice are surprisingly filling. In fact, if I add 1 extra shrimp for $1.25 I can be satisfied off 2 meals for $7.25 plus tax. I love me a good deal! I also love that I get full before I can finish a meal here, but I don't feel heavy and uncomfortably stuffed. I'm able to go about my day without falling into a food coma and have more for later. Acknowledging I'm a grazer, even someone with a bigger appetite like my husband has a difficult time cleaning his plate off the portions here, but a lot of people could split a plate and taco and save some money. I've found the sampler a bit skewed on sides to shrimp ratio compared to the regular plate and keiki plate, I would definitely add shrimp to that one to make it more even, but that only really works if you can take the left overs or share, otherwise you just end up with extra rice and salad. It's a lot of food for only $1 more than the regular plate and does allow you to try most of the flavors. I have not tried the taco, so I'm not sure if the portion is as good of a deal as the plates are. I've tried the lemon butter, garlic and sweet and spicy shrimp, which are good, but for me it's all about the coco shrimp! It's super tasty and crispy and not greasy at all. Their rice is buttered and lightly seasoned, which will appeal to those who don't eat rice often. I grew up with plain steamed rice accompanying most meals so I don't require much out of my rice, and I find this quite yummy. What impresses me the most is their salads. Or rather I'm impressed they have me wanting to eat their salad! It's always very fresh and the dressings here are top tier! The ginger and the poppy seed are both mouth watering, you can't go wrong with either. I noticed they recently added a cilantro lime one as well. I haven't tried it yet, but everything I have tried here has been great quality so I expect it's quite good if you already like that flavor profile. I haven't been in person yet as I'm not often on that side of town without being in a rush somewhere or it being too early, but I've never been disappointed with the delivery as the food holds up quite well. This truly holds 4 1/2 stars in my heart. If I ordered wrong and didn't end up with the right portions or tried everything except the coco shrimp I would probably give it a 4, but because I've tried it so many times I'm able to order exactly what I'm in the mood for any given time and have had almost entirely 5 star experiences with the food. Take that as you will, but I say it's worth a try! read more

First experience here and it was a great one! Food is so flavorful and the restaurant had plenty of space for seating. Food came out pretty quick and there was no room in our bellies for any leftovers. The lady at the register answered all our questions and we had a great time. My wife and I stoped here about 8:00 on a Saturday night to give it a try. Overall it was a pretty good place. We both ordered the Coco Shrimp which comes with salad (we got the ginger dressing) and rice that has a very buttery flavor. The coconut shrimp is nicely done. It's about $12 for the platter which comes in a box and I will say for the amount of food it's very reasonably priced. We also got two shrimp taco that ran $10. The food overall again was really good. You get a lot of rice......we each probably didn't eat a third of the rice just because it's quite a bit. It looks like it's not a lot but it really is. The salad was fresh and the ginger dressing was excellent. I believe you can also get a poppyseed dressing. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and a great flavor. The shrimp tacos I really liked. It's just coconut shrimp with lettuce and a little bit of rice in a fried tortilla. It's just two tacos in the box so no rice or salad with it but it's plenty. We actually could have split a coconut shrimp platter and each had a taco and that would have been plenty. The only thing I don't like is the location. It shares a building with a Popeye's And the parking isn't great. I wish this place was further back in the strip center or out on its on. The interior is very casual with about 3 booths (which were all occupied and then there are tables with wooden chairs and wooden benches kind of resembling a dock/wharf feel. The signs you order from weren't the easiest to read due to the contrast of the back ground. It was fairly clean over all except for one area. One thing I didn't like was there was a huge puddle of water all around the fountain drink and tea station. They had a sign out but I was surprised the employees didn't bother to try and either mop or soak up the water. It was there the entire time we were there. Just would have like to seen a little effort so we didn't have to tiptoe around to get refills and worry about slipping on the wet ground. And I don't mean the ground was damp. I've been a huge Coco Shrimp advocate for years and have always had to drive an hour for the Watauga/Ftw locations but now it's HERE!! This place is FANTASTIC. The service is always good and the cashier today knew just what to recommend. The interior is gorgeous and the ambiance is casual but cool - there's a giant screen broadcasting ocean/nature visuals and even a sink that is easily accessible in the dining area. I always order the Garlic Butter Shrimp with poppyseed dressing for the salad and it remains my favorite food to this day. I also tried a sampler with Sweet and Spicy shrimp, and it came with a couple sauces. The garlic butter plate was $10.70 (6 shrimps) and the sampler was $12.70 (7 shrimps).
