5 of us went in for our 5:30 appointment. 2 regular pedi, one royal and 2 deluxe pedi but we all finished the same time... Our serviced was all rushed. I got my toe cut and I just got a sorry and she just continued to put cuticle oil on my toes and sent me off. I should have bottom a discount for my service.. Also, I NEVER went to a place where they make you buy your file pack. A ziplock with a nail file, pumice stone and a small nail buffer for $4. Either buy one or we can buy one and share.. and next time you come brIng it with you.. everything was just unprofessional down to the service people. Will never go back there again... read more

It's a been a year since I moved to kauai and it's been difficult to find a good nail salon until now! A lot of places here have bad reviews so it's hard to find a good nail place here. I called early in the morning and luckily they had an opening today for me for a mani and pedi. The salon is very spacious and very relaxing. They were doing appointments only so I'm happy I got an appt in. The man who did my mani and pedi took his time and took care of my nails. He did a good job and the other staff was very friendly. For a spa pedicure it was $34 which is a very decent price especially since a lot of nail salons now charge so much. I will definitely come back again! read more

Tried to get a pedicure four times with two different reservations and two times as a walk in. Main lady in charge of reservations and services put my first reservation down for the wrong time after confirming 3 times over phone for the correct time when making the reservation. When I arrived at the reservation time with my friend she argued that my reservation was for the incorrect time 30 minutes prior despite me saying no, I confirmed with you 3 times yesterday it was 5:30pm not 5:00pm. Then we tried to come in as a walk in but she refused to take us bc a larger group of tourists had just walked in so it "would not be possible for us to get our pedicures today". They were still open for 3 hours yet we were told we couldn't get service that day. So we made an appointment for the following day in person. Then she said "oh wait I can't do that time how about this time instead?" We said fine tomorrow at the later time we can be flexible. When we came back the following day, again we were told you can't get services today we're overbooked. So then we tried asking when we could get 2 spa pedicures today? The lady told us about an hour and 15 minutes and then she'd be able to take us. We said no problem we can hang out and come back in an hour to be here. Then the lady replied, "oh no, sorry, we can't do that time either"... wtf?!? So I again said okay, when CAN you take us today? She responded maybe in about 4 and a half hours. I was livid as this was the second time driving to the shop to be turned down for services and now we were being asked to wait for 4.5 hours when they had 10 spa pedi chairs wide open and techs not doing anything. I immediately called Professionail in Lihu'e at Kukui Grove who immediately said yes, please come we'll be waiting for you both and have chairs ready. Night and Day difference in customer service! We drove to Lihu'e and it was well worth it bc we were immediately taken back to spa pedi chairs, the services were less expensive, staff was very kind and extremely great at their craft and we finally got our spa pedicures. Sam and Stephanie at Professionail are the best!! Coco Nails has something against locals and it seemed they were holding spots open for when the tourist boats in Port Allen would return or the hour before they departed to take walk in tourists over locals who booked times for services ahead instead of just showing up. Skip this place and go to Professionail in Lihu'e!!! At least at Professionail you'll be greeted promptly and with a smile plus you'll have your spa pedi done by the best!! The gel is worth the extra $20 too bc it won't come off in the sand or working in boots on cliffs all day. Run away from Coco nails and run towards Professionail; you'll be pleasantly surprised by the quality of services, staff, cleanliness and everything else you could want in a nail salon. They also do a stellar job with gems on your nails for some holiday sparkle in Lihu'e. Zero stars for Coco Nails and 10 stars for Professionail in Lihu'e making it worth the drive into town. Hope this helps y'all decide where to take your business especially if you have a schedule and are trying to get services for the time you actually booked to be able to get some self care and still meet your daily scheduling requirements from work to keikis. read more

I've gone here a couple of times and enjoyed it. but I went today and the male nail tech I had cut very deep into my cuticle. he didn't clean it with a new sanitary napkin but instead kept wiping away the blood with the same cotton and placing it back on his work station. he also tried to get me to put my bleeding toe back in the basin. he then told me after my service to clean my toe later so I don't get an infection! when I told someone at the counter she just sprayed alcohol on it and charged me full price and just said to come back if it hurts in a week. the rest of the staff is usually very good but I felt like this was all unprofessional and dismissive. Good place whether you are local or visiting. They take very good care of you. I've heard of this place a while ago but I live 30 minutes away and never did go towards eleele. However last week I went for a sunset dinner cruise on Blue Dolphin Charters and found this place along w Kauai Chocolate. Anywho, very serene atmosphere and thty had an available spot for me when I called in same day. First time here. Had a pedicure with Vivian, which was great! I then followed up with a full set with a guy, I didn't get his name. They are really nice there, but I wasn't very happy with my nails. I asked for round tips, and although he did them round, you can see in the photo they are all different lengths. So a few of my nails just look short and fat because they were filed down so short. Mind you, these are acrylic tips, so there was no shortage of nail to get them all the same length. Again, the pedicure was great, but maybe I would go to another nail tech the next time. read more

I have...had, great natural nails. I do not use gel polish and I do not go the acrylic route. I have no idea how the spa is with regards to gel polish or acrylics. But I will tell you they know nothing about natural nails. Or even how to give a manicure. My fingers and cuticles were so cut up by the time the technician was done. The next day, three of my fingers were infected, one of the infections lasting almost a week. The file that was used on my nails was for acrylics. My nails are now splitting And chipping. The file was way too rough for natural nails. I had great nails until I went to Coco, Nail Spa, it will be months before they're back in shape. If I could give less than one star, I would. read more

I have been to this nail spa a few times and each time has been just okay. The facility is clean and neat, but nothing glamorous - not that that is expected (of course). The staff is alright, typical staff. LOL My 2nd to last experience here, I had an absolutely terrible technician. She basically was yelling at me when she asked if I liked my nails. It took me a bit to answer and as I was answering, she screamed, "YOU TELL ME IF YOU LIKE IT OR NOT." I am glad to report, that lady is no longer there. I hate posting negative reviews, but I'm not satisfied with the care and quality of my manicure. As you can see my manicurist was way to harsh on my cuticles and they are now sore and infected. I felt she was rushing and was rough with my hands. It is hard to speak up in the moment and it's mostly to avoid conflict, but this is unacceptable and would like my money BACK! 73$!! First off I'd like to say that I am so HAPPY that we have a nail salon on the west side of kauai. For the past year I've been working out west and hated having to drive all the way to Lihue or farther to do my nails. My experience with this salon has been nothing but great! The hours are reasonable and so are the pricing. Since the change over from Hayden nail spa to Coco nail spa I've been consistently going to my awesome nail tech Tea. She's fast, articulate, and does her best to please you with any nail design you desire. I've been bringing a picture example off of Pinterest or the internet and Tea along with Bang, Tina, and Ryan have always been able to recreate the look for me. Me along with my sister went to wax today 8/25/18, worst waxing ever! I usually go to Coco nails to wax, but today there was a different lady. She took forevers to do it, she made the wax go all the way on our eye lids, like almost in our dam eyes, using a hard brush to brush it, wax was hot as heck & obviously BURNED my skin!! Burned all around my eyes even on my eye lids. It's been stinging since I was done waxing & still is. I guess I'm never going back, or at least making that lady do mines again!! BAD EXPERIENCE. This nail salon charges for clean products. First i got a gel manicure and she used a old nail file on me and i didn't notice till the damage was done so i followed through and got the gel polish then I sat down in the pedicure chair and she was about to use a used pumi bar on me so i asked for a clean new one and she directed me to on their menu, i can purchase a new nail file and pumi bar for 8$ extra on top of a 30$ pedicure. I am a licensed nail tech and cosmetologist, first there is no way to clean a nail file and a pumi bar 100%, second there is over 200 nail fungus's that can transfer on a used pumi bar and nail file and that's not even if you break the skin, Third to charge extra for clean utensils is ridiculous. I did not get a pedicure today because I'd rather be safe then sorry. read more

This place is legit good. It has all the things a quality affordable nail salon has. This review is for their nail repair services in particular. I'll post another review after I get a mani-pedi, which might be a while since I live east side and don't go west side that often. I had ripped my thumbnail a couple millimeters below my nail line three-quarters of the way across while punching someone. Long story short, needed my [natural] nail repaired or else it would rip off and rip more skin. I was on this side for a car show at PMRF and a friend recommended this spot. The guy that did the repair was a true nail artist, effortlessly and meticulously fixing my nail in mere minutes. I highly recommend him and this place for nail repairs! Heads-up though - this place is constantly crowded, as it should be. read more

Went with a few of my friends to do our nails for our work Christmas party. Staff there won't immediately offer help. Techs just stare at you basically hoping that the next person will help you. "Receptionist" guy is sort of demanding at times and instructions are not really clear. My friend got nicked by one of the tools as her nail tech was doing an acrylic set on her. I could tell she didn't look comfortable even if she said "it's okay." Overall, service was average. My gel manicure could've been better as I noticed a few of my nails were lighter than the other even if I chose the same color for all of my nails. I would recommend that staff work on their customer service skills. I most likely won't be returning to this nail salon in the near future. read more

Only thing I was a little weary about was that they were pulling unsanitized tools out of their drawer to use on me. I didn't see any cleaning products around. This was such a great nail salon! Very friendly staff, very clean working areas. And they're prices were very fair. Plus, they had a range of types of manis and pedis to choose, from a $20 basic to the $47 deluxe specialty! They also had many notes saying what would cost extra and what wouldn't, and they clarified everything I wanted before proceeding. I got a plain pedicure, so just regular polish, but the deluxe version, so a wonderful massage and lotions and oils came with it! Very professional salon. I will def be back in the future. read more

When this was HAYDEN NAIL SPA ran by Derek, he was so friendly and able to run the flow of the nail salon. I could walk in and it was fine, wait was not bad. I could call and get an appointment quickly. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and always did great nails. When the business was sold, I could tell that things were changing and not for the good. During one appointment I watched the salon pick and choose what clients they wanted to serve. Now I feel like she did the same to me. I called TWICE to make appointments and TWICE got turned AWAY. The first time she said to "Come back tomorrow," so I called the next day and I got turned away AGAIN. Another customer also saw the owner choose clients as she was getting services done. Customers would come in, then the owner would get phone calls from customers and she would say, "sorry there's no time." Then a mother and daughter came in for a walk-in for two mani and two pedis, and suddenly she has time for them?! I hate that I have to rate it 1 star because there is one *amazing* nail tech who does a great gel nail and he shouldn't have to lose business because of a horrible salon owner. If you want great gel nails go to Bang, he sits right by the window. He's the best... only if you manage to get service here. But due to poor customer service by the new owners running this place, I no longer can go back. I hope it changes soon. I used to recommend this place to everyone, but will not do so anymore. The owner didn't even TRY to save getting business from me, just an "okay, sorry." If you decide to go, you'll get great service ONLY if the owner decides if you're worthy. I've been to this salon twice and had very different experiences both times. The first time the nail tech that I had was a guy and did a very good job on shaping and cleaning up my nails. When painting, he made sure to clean up any messes that got on the skin and when I had a concern regarding the nails looking like it had ripples he gladly did it over. The second time i had a lady and she was very friendly. She did good and cleaning and shaping, but when it came to painting, it got very messy and at first she started cleaning it but seemed like she gave up. The toes came out nice and the fingers could have been better but I left pretty satisfied. Once I got outside, not even one minute out, the fingers had impressions from getting into my car and it had tiny black bubbles. It looks very messy in the sunlight. I'm upset that I paid over $40 for the most basic mani/pedi and that it came out the way it did. It is much cheaper to get my nails done in Honolulu. 3 stars for good shaping and cleaning my knocking two stars off my second experience (price and paint job). read more
