Someone suggested I try Denise so I called her, got an appointment for my pedicure and have never looked back. She creates such a soothing and relaxing environment and puts a lot of good energy into her services. Her pedicures lasts a full hour (unheard of in the mall nail salons!) and her massages always relaxes me from my head to my toes. She doesn't use the drill to file and shape my nails, only uses it under my nails if she needs to. Her prices are affordable, doesn't try to get you to add on extra services and just a professional all around and I really appreciate that.

After having my nails done at another salon for a few months I noticed my nails were separating from my nail beds, I honestly taught they were all going to fall off. I visited my dermatologist and was informed that I was growing a fungus, probably from unsanitized equipment or cheap product. Make sense; cheap product...cheap price! I was advise to take the acrylics off and with medication, after a few months my nails started to look normal again. As I contemplated having my nails done again, I did some heavy research. I was told by so many people that Sherri is the best, so I gave her a call to make an appointment. I have been going to Sherri for 13 years now. She's very knowledgeable on her products, has the most current OPI colors and or trends and most of all takes the time to make your nails look absolutely gorgeous! I have never had any set backs or been unsatisfied with my nails. Sherri is a very sweet, kind and caring person, from the moment you meet her she will take you under her wing to educate you. On a whim about a month ago, I'd gotten acrylic nails in my hometown Seattle. Had them filled and…read moremaintained a couple of times, but one evening a few days ago when on vacation in Kauai, I decided they had to go and proceeded to pry them off with my teeth. My nails were, of course, a WRECK! The next day, my kids and I had ventured to Kapa'a and happened to spot a sign for this place. We parked and went in to see if they had any availability. It was 2pm and there was no one in the salon, so the gal behind the counter said she could get us in right away, that her next appointment wouldn't arrive until 3pm. There was another gal-manicurist there who was getting ready to leave, but she agreed to stay and give my 11yo daughter a manicure. She started on my daughter's while I hustled over to the ATM at Long's because gal #1's credit card machine wasn't up and running. I got back and my gal got started on cleaning/shaping/smoothing my destroyed nails ... she mentioned this new hybrid nail/gel system they had, so I opted to go for that because it doesn't chip/wear away and is supposed to last at least 14 days. She had it on her fingernails and it was still so shiny and perfect-looking, despiting being about 2 weeks old - I was sold, even though the cost was double their normal manicure prices ($50 vs $25). This stuff is called Shellac by CND and it's "cured" onto your nails with UV light - as soon as you're done with your last UV exposure, you can do anything! Scramble around in your purse for your wallet, bang your nails on the table, run them through sand - nothing musses up the finish! Well, almost nothing - apparently if you actively try to file it off, that will screw it up. The gals were friendly enough and we were done in about an hour from walking in the door. Now the traditional manicure cost about double what we'd pay in Seattle BUT this place uses disposable/take-away nail files/orange sticks/buffers, so you're paying for cleanliness, for sure! That can be a questionable part when getting your $30 mani/pedi around Seattle. Ew, I know. Plus this place seemed to be using good lotion, oil and polishes, too. Many were even formaldehyde free. I LOVE the finish on the Shellac system! Now I'll have to find a place in Seattle who does them, I suppose! Especially considering one can't take the stuff off with regular polish remover ... there are some kind of special soaking pads or something. Whatever! I don't like doing my own nails anyway. :) My daughter's manicure hasn't faired as well as mine ... there are some air bubbles under her polish and the nail art on 4 fingers that we paid an extra $10 for was only stickers that were applied a bit wonky, but perhaps it was just an off-day for that one! Still give them a go, if you're in the area and need your nails did. :)

Yes, I waited that long to do it again. My brows had turned to ash a long while ago and the monotony of painting them on daily with aging poor vision in a mag mirror finally wore me down. My quest to find a great brow tattooist on Kauai began. Until this review, she only had 3, all rightfully 5 Star. What the heck Kauai? I've asked aestheticians, hair stylists, massage therapists, baristas (true story) and friends. The name "Layna" kept repeating. Who was this mysterious mythical creature??? I checked Yelp! Apparently, if you search for "Layna" or BeautYbrows you won't find her. It's "Beaut"I"brows"! Anyway, I found her! She is indeed ahhmazing! Can you hear the cherubs singing??? Layna recommended a color correction- Agreed lol and a "combo"! Perfect, don't know what that is but let's do it! My brows which were once a weird ashy solid ink are now beautiful brown hairlike strokes that I no longer need to paint in. They are perfect as is! She recommends touch ups after a period of time however the "mag mirror" says I don't need it- yet. You can find her actively on Instagram at BeautiBrows.Kauai. Check out her work! A word of advice: please protect her work and your face and brows with reef safe SPF. I use a zinc based SPF 50 sun balm made by "Utu" AND "Freaks Nature" SPF 50. Great products!
