The food and service were not good at all. They only had one guy waiting tables and he simply couldn't keep up - not his fault but many customers had the same problem and it's not fair to expect us to tip on terrible service just so the owners can save a few bucks. It's counterproductive as we heard multiple other customers say that they won't be back ... hard to disagree. Besides the poor service, the food was terrible. No other way to say it - bland, gross, not worthy of their location. The only thing going for Coco Deck are the strong, inexpensive drinks. Our game plan in the future is to pregame here for the drinks then go across the street to Mala or Honu where the drinks are weak but the food is amazing. read more

I called today and left a message to let them know that the four of us just tested positive for Covid. So I made sure that I called the restaurant and left them a message to let them know that we were not going to make it. He is the kicker. They just charged my credit card $80 because we didn't show up and they have not listen to my message. That is what I call a desperate restaurant. We came here to support Maui and Lahaina but it would be nice to have a little humanity and understand that people do get sick. I will dispute my charge and I will never go back to Coco Deck for their incompetence. People at Coco Deck. Read the room but most important have some empathy toward people that are sick. After waiting 45 minutes for our table (we were told 20) and then at least another ten for a server to arrive, we were told they were too busy to handle our allergy needs. This is the ONLY restaurant on Maui that responded this way to a fish allergy. We were asked to simply wait an indeterminate length of time until they were less busy and then they could help us. Do yourself a favor--if you have a food allergy, go to Hula Grill...and DEFINITELY steer clear of Coco Deck. Their customer service is ridiculously poor. read more

We went back to the hostess 15 minutes later and were told to wait longer. We then pointed to an open table and asked to sit there, and she said she didn't realize we could sit there. The staff at this place are useless. After waiting for 45 minutes, we sat down and they refused to comply with the dietary restrictions of my party. One person had a fish allergy, and the waiter told us we would need to wait 45 minutes for them to make any of our food. We got up and left. We were excited to try this new place, since it gets great reviews. Now we see why...we loved it! We went at 4:30 (happy hour is 3-5) and had a full meal for a reasonable price. We tried the Fried Brussels Caesar, fish tacos, Garlic Shrimp (so yummy, wanted a spoon for the sauce), and the Strawberry Watermelon salad. Randomly decided to have dinner here tonight on what so happened to be opening night. Service was fantastic, our waiter and the floor manager were very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The Mahi was very fresh and the flavor combos were incredible. Cocktails and beer selection were on point. We got to see to the sunset from the deck. Great place! read more

We decided to try Coco Deck after seeing the good reviews on Yelp. My wife got the smash burger and I got the sourdough crunch and we ordered the chips and salsa with queso to share. We also got a couple of alcoholic drinks that 1 of which was pretty decent and one was just ok at best. The chips and salsa were just ok as well, but the queso was bland as bland can be. I didn't know you could make cheese taste so much like nothing. The smash burger was decent but when we ordered, we asked the server if the special sauce was basically thousand island, to which she replied no but couldn't really describe what it was. She said we would like it though. Spoiler alert, it was thousand island which my wife does not like. We would have said something to the server but we pretty much didn't see her again after ordering. Someone from the kitchen, it appeared, brought our food to the table. He did not ask if we needed anything like ketchup and since the server never came back we didn't get any, along with the mustard my wife asked for when we ordered. The sourdough crunch had potential but they didn't pull it off. The pork carnitas in it was very bland and it needed cheese inside too. Better flavored carnitas and melty cheese inside and that sandwich would slap. We sat at the table for 20 minutes after finishing our meal and finally flagged down the manager to ask for our check. I don't know what in the heck he was doing after that but it was like another 15 min and I finally just ordered an Uber and walked outside. My wife went and found the manager and asked if he wanted us to pay the bill because we were going to leave. She paid our bill, which was way overpriced for the quality of food and especially the terrible service, and we left. I don't recommended this place from our experience. A dining experience should have good food, good service, and be a reasonable price for the food and service quality. 2 of the 3 can salvage a dining experience. In looking for a place to eat away from the hotel strip we came upon Coco Deck. The menu looked like a good offering of options so we went. Had to wait a few minutes for the hostess to acknowledge us but once at a table, the staff was on it. Claudia, our server, was engaging, humorous and checked on us several times. I went to Coco Deck today with a girlfriend, we both had a black bean tacos. I must say I ate it because I was hungry however, they kept us waiting at the front with no one approaching us for a while. There was someone standing near. They never said anything. Finally someone came and took us to a seat. The young lady who served us was kind he replaced the water I asked for coffee. I didn't get it until I was almost finished with my meal. She had forgotten when the food came out. It was messy. The tacos were wet. The black beans were underneath the tacos with juice. I was not happy at all. This is my second time experiencing unpleasant conditions there the waitress was friendly. They were not very busy however the food just was not good. I will not go there again!!! read more

The restaurant/bar is intentionally designed to be more accessible - less expensive option for locals and tourists. Cheaper does not mean lower quality. We ate dinner at Coco Deck last night. When I looked at the menu I realized they had a tostada just the way I like it. My husband saw the smashed burger and we were in. We. Arrived before five so we got happy hour prices. The tostada was everything I wanted and the presentation was perfect. My husband's Smashburger was great.
