I was on the search for a cleaning company because my dog was developing adult dog allergies. I needed a deep clean of my one bedroom apt and a shampooing of my carpets. I compared different quotes on yelp and this company was the cheapest at $165 for the deep cleaning and $55 for shampooing the carpets. However, although there were no yelp reviews for this company (claims she has been doing this since 2016), I looked at this as a chance to support a small black woman owned business. The owner, TJ, responded quickly and had two people come do the deep clean on the 12th. My dog doesn't like new people so I had my boyfriend stay home as I took my dog out during the cleaning. When I got home, I called TJ to ask if the baseboards in the whole apt, the outside and inside of the cabinets, the stove top burners, and the backsplash on both sides of the kitchen were included in the cleaning because they weren't done. She said the inside of the cabinets had to be empty for them to clean (ok fair!) but that the rest of my concerns were supposed to be cleaned. She offered me $40 off but I told her that I have no problem paying in full if she would just finish the job the next week when she comes to do my carpets. She said no, take the discount; but when I tried to pay the invoice minus the $40, it would only let me pay it in full. She then told me that she would take the $40 off of the $55 carpet cleaning and that she would come do it herself. I was super happy with the customer service! Then, the night before the carpet cleaning on the 17th, i emailed her to confirm because it was already 2:30am, the day of the cleaning, and she had not sent an invoice or a confirmation that she was coming. She called me an hour before the carpet cleaning and told me that she now had more important things to do so she would have to send an employee and not herself; ergo she would have to charge me full price because she has to pay her employee now. In addition, she told me that she will hold on to her word but don't bother calling back. She continued on saying that my boyfriend had done a walk through of the apt so it was our fault. I told her that when I contacted other cleaning services, they gave me a detailed list of what they would clean. When my boyfriend asked me what they were coming to clean, I told him just everything, it's a deep clean of the apt. When her employees did a walk through, they showed him everything that they had done which was included in the cleaning. The parts of the apt they hadn't bothered to touch, he assumed that they weren't included in the cleaning. She lost it on me, screaming at me and telling me that she won't do it for free. I told her that I was never looking for the discount or anything free. I work as a bartender so I know customers just want free stuff. Therefore, right after the cleaning I had taken pictures of the neglected spots to send to her and told her that I didn't need the discount, I just wanted to her to finish the job the next week when she was planning on coming for it carpets. She told me she would come because she didn't want me leaving a bad review but that she wouldn't care if I lost her number. After crying, my boyfriend told me to tell her that we don't need her to come because she was berating me on the phone over her words and her ideas. We called Stanley steamers and they got the job done for triple the price...was it worth it? YES!! Go with a reputable company with yelp reviews!! The owner then texted me back the next day to apologize and offer me the discount. Keep your money; I never wanted the discount in the first place, I just wanted the job done correctly. I would rather warn people of this company than get another service done by this company. Why would we ever give someone another chance who went back on their own word and screamed at a customer, as the owner. Insanity! Not sure the Better business bureau would ever endorse this company at all.
