I used Leslie's for several years. I was generally VERY HAPPY with their cleaning. During the time we used them their prices just kept going up and up... more than one would expect for inflation. A couple of their senior cleaners told me they only got $21-22 an hour. That seems low based on the hour rate they charge... During Covid there was very little cleaning available... I suspect most people didn't want strangers in their house. The Leslie's staff wore masks the whole time. We were comfortable with them being here. As expected one would expect they lost a fair number of staff. We had a bi-weekly 4 hour cleaning. There were several times when we got calls a day or two before saying they didn't have a cleaner available... and would we mind rescheduling... we ALWAYS said "Yes, no problem... we will accommodate you." I think on at least one occasion we had to skip a weekly cleaning due to staffing shortages. Back to a year ago, my wife had cold symptoms... although we took precaution that it might be the flu. When the cleaner arrived for the 3 1/2 hour cleaning, I immediately told her my wife probably had a cold and was isolated downstairs in her studio.. which the cleaning wouldn't be getting to within 15 feet of (and two doors). Per her training, she called Leslies' (no problem there) and they told her to leave that she shouldn't expose herself. No problem there either. I asked the person who scheduled the cleaners " A "... what IF ANY cost was there for the missed cleaning. He told me it was the full amount of 191.00. I was in shock! We'd bent over to accommodate them on half dozens times over the years and the said that's "their policy" .. unless you give 48 or 72 hours (I forget which) notice. We didn't have that much time.. my wife only developed symptoms the evening before the morning cleaning. Their reasoning was they had to pay the cleaner and that was their POLICY... I subsequently talked to a couple of former Leslie cleaners and found out they were only paid for 30 mins (basically commute time) and not a dime more. So, they pocketed $130 because it 'was their policy' without ANY CONSIDERATION to our years of service. I told ' A ' I wouldn't pay it and we were DONE with Leslie's. Thanks for nothing. Later, I mailed in a check for the full $191.00 out of "legal obligation" we felt totally disrespected by ' A ' and by the company in general . Good Luck using them read more

After working with Alex to schedule a date for the service, due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to cancel. Alex was very understanding and did his best to reschedule for a date ASAP. Leslie's Cleaning came today to do a deep clean I paid for of my new home I'm moving into on Monday, I'm 64 and have rheumatory arthritis in my hands so scrubbing is very painful for me. I told the technician to turn on the AC at any time she wished and we exchanged cell phone numbers if either of us had a question. I was over at the new house throughout the day on this mild 83 degree day and had windows open and the whole house fan on. F rom 1-3 pm I was at the house and it was still a pleasant temperature. When I returned at 4:30 the techs said it was too hot and they hadn't cleaned my kitchen (the MAIN PURPOSE OF MY SERVICE) nor the closed cabinets in my pantry. Not the fridge, not the oven, not the greasy stovetop. Their notes to the customer read: "Kitchen, entry, living room were not cleaned due to time." This is the main floor minus the master bedroom. Their excuse was not about heat but TIME. The owner called me while I was with the technicians and was rude as hell. Blamed me for having a broken AC unit that just passed the home inspection report and said my cell phone doesn't work apparently but worked fine in front of her technicians. Leslie accused me of making them work in the heat when 'they should have gone home sooner.' Interestingly, no one was sweating, including me, and I'm super sensitive to heat. Leslie's solution is the techs can come back for ADDITIONAL CHARGES (that were INCLUDED in my original estimate !!!). And to add salt to the wound: I had to pay MORE FOR 2/3's of my main floor not being cleaned!!!!! WTF!!! I'VE NEVER BEEN SOOOOO DISGUSTED IN MY LIFE. NOT STANDING BEHIND HER SERVICE. SHE'S "BLAMELESS" for POOR COMMUNICATION??--- and who told the techs to focus on cabinets--- none of which were in the kitchen & pantry!!! The ONLY saving grace is ALEX who handled my fluid schedule (w/unpredictable sellers who kept moving the bar on me) with true professionalism, earnestness, and sincerity. We hired Leslie's Cleaning Service after reading all the great reviews. Two girls came out for a "TOP TO BOTTOM" clean. Our home is 2700 sq. ft. and it's just the two of us. The owner said it would probably take 12-14 hours which seemed a little excessive, should have been my first clue. Not to mention $644. Here is what I wrote to Leslie after the one and only cleaning: "Hello Leslie, I've gone back and forth as to how to respond to your question regarding the cleaning service. Anny and Janet did a stellar job on the bathroom shower glass and master toilet. The rest was mediocre. For instance, 2 out of the 4 blinds in the master bedroom weren't wiped down as well as the freestanding fireplace. One of the walls in the master is partial logs which were not wiped down either. Both girls kept looking at the clock and saying, "we only have 2 more hours" or "one more hour". At one point, Anny told me she only had time to either clean our office or focus on the living room. For 14 hours of cleaning and over $645, I expect my whole house to be cleaned which didn't happen. As a business owner myself, I always appreciate feedback... good or bad. One thing I could suggest is that the girls leave their cells phones in their vehicles. Too often we found them on their phones. Also, Anny kept checking in on Janet and giving her instructions on how to clean and what product to use. I don't feel I should pay for the instruction time. I expect them to know how to clean when they get here. The last hour or so the girls were in the same general area cleaning and it seemed as though they were doing a lot of talking about their personal life which is fine. However, our office was the next room over and we were trying to conduct business since we work from home. It was a little distracting. Finally, when Janet was about to leave she asked me to let her know what I wanted done on the 26th. She said she only had 3 hours and wouldn't be able to get to everything. I guess it is my fault I assumed that every two weeks, I would get a crew out here to clean my house, not just "part" of my house. I thought that was why we did the "top to bottom cleaning" first then the maintenance cleaning after that. I would like to know your thoughts." It took Leslie 8 days to get back to me and she promised to give me a call that day. After 2 days of no contact, we decided to go with a more reputable company. read more

Leslie's is consistent in their work performance, regardless of who the cleaner is. One of the big advantages of going with a service like them, as opposed to a 'single proprietor', who may clean just as good, is there are times when they're injured, on vacation, sick, or have family issues. In addition, with Leslie's you know they're given employee benefits like workman's comp, unemployment benefits, sick time, etc. You might pay a little less going with an individual, but in the long wrong we don't think it's the right way to go. With Leslie's Cleaning Services, on the occasional time our regular cleaner has not been available we've had seamless replacements fill in and do the same quality work. And, when something comes up, you will receive notification from Leslie's office explaining the need to have a replacement cleaner, or IF YOU PREFER, to switch days/times when you cleaner will be available again. Recently, Trish filled in and did a great job. IF you have a temporary replacement you'll get an email with a photo and the name of the replacement cleaner before the cleaning day. Used this service for a couple years. The people cleaning do a good job and often surprise you with extra detail. It wasn't the cleaners who I was less than thrilled with, but the management. We only paid for a certain number of hours for a home that only my wife and I occupy. Occasionally we have guests (family) and those rooms will need attending, especially the guest bathroom. The service asks you to simply close the door of rooms the cleaner shouldn't even bother with, which we do most of the time. Recently, after having guests, the home was cleaned. We noticed the bathroom wasn't cleaned, although the trash was emptied from there. With more company scheduled to arrive the following weekend, my wife was disappointed. As they always do, the service follows-up each job with an email soliciting feedback. My wife wrote to them and said the guest bathroom was missed. The office manager responded that they didn't miss it, rather they ran out of time and we should have indicated that we wanted it cleaned. We explained that the cleaner was "in" there to service the trash and should have noticed it was dirty and cleaned it. They asked for feedback and we were trying to tell them we were disappointed this time but they weren't accepting the feedback and kept trying to tell us it was our fault for not telling them that the guest bathroom was a priority. Then the office manager hands off communication to the owner and she tells us the same thing and actually says we are being disrespectful! You would never have guessed that we were a paying customer (a long time paying customer). The owner repeated that the cleaner simply ran out of time and it was our fault for not requesting the room be cleaned. Finally, I found the official "form" they leave after they clean the house. The cleaner checked off all boxes, including the "bathrooms" box. Additionally, she hand wrote a note on the form and said, "also had some extra time and worked on some of your front room & living room windows". So since she had extra time she should have cleaned the bathroom instead of the windows. My wife said that they are supposed to be professionals and certainly should be able to come into a house and assess what the main cleaning needs are - especially if they enter a dirty bathroom to dump the trash. I discontinued service not because of the cleaner missing a room. I fired them because of the lack of respect the management gave us following the feedback they asked for. If they had only acknowledged our concern and offered to fix the problem, we'd still be a customer today. My final message included a copy of the cleaner's remarks about having extra time that day. Never received an offer nor an apology. I'm rating three stars because generally the cleaning is good and as stated, sometimes even extra details are looked after. It's the management that let us down. I found someone else to clean the house for less money and is paid by the job. They assure me that they won't leave the job with any bathrooms left dirty. read more

I have to agree with Liesa B's previous review that they are hit and miss. Leslie was very responsive when I called in somewhat of a panic about my move in and move out on 2 houses. I thought her quote was a little high but based hiring them on the good Yelp rating. For the move in, I prepared a very specific list of what to do and what to skip, as we were having repairs done to the home we were purchasing. On a 3 bedroom/2.5 bath house where they didn't need to vacuum, clean 2 of the bathrooms or the ceiling fans, they charged me for 10 hours and didn't do 2 of the items I specifically listed. I also knew it wasn't 10 hours of work so told them to just leave when they were finished. Of course they charged the entire time. They even left my garbage on the porch, claiming they couldn't find the garbage can which was right around the corner with lots of workers around to ask. The visible items in the kitchen were cleaned well, but shelving and blinds were still dirty. The Admin even argued with me when I called the office. I had the dirty rags to prove I had to re-clean after them. I called Leslie to voice my concerns but never got a call back. I cancelled my move out clean with Leslie's and hired Merry Maids on very short notice. I was very pleased with the work done by Merry Maids which included more items and only cost a little more. I learned my lesson - go with a reputable company that charges by the job, not the hour. Note: Leslie contacted me and worked very hard to make sure my issues were addressed. Leslie cares about her business and its reputation, which is important. read more

We hired Leslie's Cleaning Services for our new home, in Auburn, CA. Due to time and budget constrains we settled on cleaning all the windows by one contractor and cleaning the two bathrooms and kitchen by another contractor. When the window cleaners arrived they raised the quoted price, saying that the original estimate was inaccurate. After we paid them the full price + tip, we realized that they left a window screen out. We had to call Leslie to have them come back the next day. When the cleaning lady arrived, two days later, she did a good job cleaning the two bathrooms but she was running out of time on the kitchen. She left for her next appointment, leaving the kitchen unfinished. When my wife called to complain, Leslie offered to send an another cleaner to finish the job...for an additional cost. It took me about 20 minutes to finish the kitchen. I save ourselves $50 and I wished we never hired Leslie's Cleaning Services. You can learn from my mistake - don't do it. They were so thorough and very pleasant. We were there cleaning too and they did not mind and diligently went about what they were asked to do.
