We come to Coco Bongo often and absolutely love it here! The atmosphere is always beautiful and positive, and the staff are some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet. The drinks are creative, delicious, and always made with care. It's just one of those places that always puts you in a good mood.

I could have given a much higher rating. But the most disappointing part is that the manager/owner depended solely on her two actively working wait staff to take care of everyone in the restaurant that was quickly beginning to fill. There were other workers busy on their phones. We had been wanting to try this place so many times. We are that kind of patron that will wait many years to see if a place survives before we try it. Sad but true. When we walked in we told her it was just two of us for lunch. She didn't speak English and quickly nabbed another waitress who was fluent in English. Although very kind--wouldn't have let a little language barrier stop us from enjoying. It still took us about twenty minutes to get the waitress to return to take our drink orders. My husband was getting impatient and went to the bar to order. Once again, the staff were just sitting busy on their cell phones. When our drinks arrived, we were impressed by the beautiful cocktail! We were also presented with a soup that had a shrimp floating in it and some tortilla chips. Even though, it wasn't exactly soup weather outside, we ate it and it was quite tasty. Another thirty minutes passed before our lunch of tacos were served. They were actually very good! But after only one, I was in need of a box! The food and cocktails were very good. It just took FOREVER to get our drinks, food and check. The sad part was that the restaurant wasn't even full! I couldn't imagine if it had been! We would be willing to try again in hopes of a different dining experience! There is only one waitress who so The cocktails were amazingly delicious!

This place has so much hype and not sure why honestly. We came in on a Sunday right before noon. Ordered and the food sucked! Everything is overly salty! The ceviche we ordered literally looked like it was days old and had a refrigerator taste to it. So nasty, not fresh at all!!!! I will never return to Coco Bongo! The guacamole was the only thing edible.

Overall experience was good! Drinks and food was very good! There was a bit of a language barrier since the menu is in Spanish only, but we were able to use translation on our phones. Music could of been turned down a little bit too. Will be back.

Honestly the prices and the food you get is on point. Most likely servers will know little to no English but the seafood it's great. Loud music and full of flavor!

Food was very good but kind of pricey I think

Food was very good but kind of pricey I think the lobster cost $60 it's a lobster cut in half full of seafood and the other plate is a pineapple full of seafood topped with cheese $23. The restaurant it's not the cleanest and comfortable. Also there's this giant plate that feeds several people just seafood it cost $169.

Just as I was thinking that most of local, family owned places in my immediate universe have been discovered and proclaimed to the world, the exhaustion of Indy 500 lead us to Coco Bongo. Approached the place with bright signs, but dark windows with suspicion, and yet discovered a bright, large and festive space full of family-size tables with families actually filling most of them and music enticing you to walk with a dance in your step. So, we danced to the table and examined the menu and nearby tables heaping with abundant and exotic looking seafood platters. Started with a cup of complementary shrimp soup - mildly spicy with a fat savory shrimp. Not all selections had accompanying English descriptions, so Pina Rellena and Ceviche were largely selected on the merits of the pictures and turned out delicious. Pina Rellena came in a blackened pineapple full of mixed seafood "stew" topped with cheese. The selection of deserts was light, but Horchata drink served as a sweet substitute just fine. Come check out this authentic and colorful place!

I like this place. The food was good but I wouldn't go out of my way to return. Everyone in my group enjoyed their meals. I had one of the red snapper (Huachinango) dishes; I had enough for two meals and it was quite tasty. We all had to use our English to Spanish meals to help us order. Lemonade comes in an extra large glass at $4.50

My boyfriend and I tried Coco Bongo on a whim for a late lunch. We have been to other mariscos restaurants in the area and have been wanting to try Coco once we heard it was open. It was right before the dinner rush, so it wasn't too busy. We were seated and a server brought over some tostadas with spicy salsa and a small cup of seafood soup. Delicious! This actually swayed my decision for what to order for lunch! We each ordered seafood tostadas. I just got one of the mixed seafood one to start before my meal and my boyfriend got 4 shrimp for his lunch. Super fresh, lots of toppings, and loaded with seafood! I ordered the caldo 7 mares. It was so loaded with seafood and the broth was very good. I also liked the garlic bread it was served with. I've never had garlic bread served with my caldo, so I was a little hesitant, but it complemented it perfectly! We will definitely be back to eat dinner as it looks like they have great entertainment for dinner on the weekends!

To be honest I wasn't very hopeful. I went in dinner hours. Small with a few tables. They had a few door dash orders to go. My order was ready very quick. I saw there was 2 containers for sauce. One was the Katsu and the other Teriyaki. I got one of each to go. Got home, opened it up, smelled amazing, looked amazing. I had taken a bite of the macaroni salad, the chicken with the katsu sauce and rice together. Under the chicken was fresh broccoli and cabbage. It was absolutely delicious. Fresh, hot, the rice and chicken was perfect and moist. For $13.07 total I will definitely be back. I got 2 meals out of this plate.

I have ordered delivery from here and ate inside once. I like their BBQ chicken and katsu. They are both good and reasonably priced in my opinion. The seating inside is limited, and not exactly a "cozy" space. When I got there, there was a self-order screen which was easy to use. I had a little cash on me and saw a tip jar on the counter, so when I paid for my order with my credit card, I hit the Skip button for the tips. However, the receipt showed that they still charged 15% tip on my card. This had never happened to me before at any business. I do not know what kind of error it was, but I perceived it as deceitful and sneaky. However, when I brought it to the staff's attention, he corrected the amount right away which I appreciated. I also saw someone else's review mentioning the same thing. I hope they will fix the issue. That said, I still like their food and I thank them for bringing more variety to the area.

The service was very helpful deciding what to order. The setting was fun down town indanopolis feel. The lobster roll was definitely the standout. It was packed with fresh, flavorful lobster and had a nice balance of buttery richness without feeling too heavy. You can tell the seafood is high quality, which makes a huge difference. The lobster deviled eggs were super unique and honestly one of my favorite bites. Creamy, slightly tangy, and topped with lobster--it's not something you see everywhere, and they executed it really well. My husband tried the shrimp burrito, which was great for a seafood spot. It was hearty, well-seasoned, and filled generously. It didn't feel like an afterthought on the menu. To finish, the cheesecake was a great choice it was from the cheesecake factory is what the offered for my birthday smooth, rich, and just the right level of sweetness with a strawberry topping to end the meal without being overwhelming. Overall, Slap's Fish Market delivers on both creativity and quality. It's a great spot if you want fresh seafood with a few fun, unexpected twists. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

I feel like most seafood places will have vegetarian options by way of removing the fish from pasta dishes or salad, but it's also nice to know that you can get chicken as a substitute on most of these kinds of dishes, too. Granted, it's just like chicken tenders, but still good nonetheless. I really like their firecracker pasta, which is moderately spicy in my opinion. There's no particular fishy smell here, which is always a good sign that the seafood they serve here is freshly prepared. Our food always comes out quickly for lunch and we've been a group as large as 8 or 9. I do believe that ordering is mostly done online in their mass Ave location, though. I don't really seek out a place like Slapfish on my own (no offense at all, just not a seafood girlie!!), but I would assume that it's a rather popular establishment as they recently opened a fifth location in the greater Indy area. If I did like fish and such more, I'd probably be here on a more regular rotation.

We sat on the patio, and although the shades were closed earlier in the day, they opened them later once the weather warmed up, which made the vibe even better. Our server was very nice and attentive, especially with our large group. We ordered a half mimosa tower, and I really enjoyed it. I also tried Rico's Coffee from the brunch menu, which was so good and paired perfectly with the brunch vibe. I ordered the French toast platter, which came with four pieces of French toast, scrambled eggs, brunch potatoes, and bacon. It was delicious and so filling that I had to get a to-go box. The yogurt parfait was also really good, and everyone at the table seemed to enjoy their food and drinks, including the Bloody Mary options and tea. We ordered liquid marijuana shots as a group and these were great. One thing to note: we brought a cake for our friend and didn't know there was a $25 outside cake fee, so be aware of that if you plan to bring your own dessert. After brunch, we walked around the beautiful grounds, and a few of us stayed longer on the patio. The high-top seating wasn't the most comfortable, but the drinks and appetizers made up for it. The whiskey sour was good, and we enjoyed the crab cakes, calamari, shrimp, and Rico's dip. This turned into an all-day affair with good food, drinks, beautiful weather, and great company. A really nice spot for brunch, celebrations, and patio time.

The atmosphere was beautiful although, as a couple with a late reservation, it was a little bit disappointing that they started taking away all the balloons and decorations as we were sitting there!
