I was surprised how nice this place was! I always heard the food was great but I didn't realize it was so upscale. My friend and I got some margs to start, blackberry for me and 43 berry for her-both with sugar on the rim-excellent idea. We split the guacamole and tostones rellenos. The tostones were so good-highly recommend but the guacamole lacked flavor of any sort, didn't even seem like their was lime juice or anything at all but the 2 salsas that came with it were really good. For entrees we split the Cuban on multigrain seeded roll and the skirt steak on the French baguette. Both were very tasty. The steak had a chimichurri sauce on it and the fries were extra crispy. I would def come here again. The parking lot was super annoying tho, it was extremely tight and uphill so it was a little hard to maneuver around in my suv. Plenty of parking in front as well as the rear of the restaurant. Nice intimate restaurant. Ordered the pernil asado which was very flavorful and juicy, slightly salty but good nonetheless. Vegetables were fresh and cooked well. My wife had the sweet potato picadillo. One of the biggest sweet potatoes I've ever seen came stuffed ground beef. I've had this place bookmarked for a while and finally went last night. Jay O. And I made it just in time for happy hour and were able to snag the last two bar seats. There's only valet here so make sure you bring a few dollars to tip. Upon entering this establishment I immediately took notice of how beautiful it is. A lot nicer than I expected it to be. Now time for the food! We looked over the happy hour and decide to try a few items from there. We each ordered a red sangria 6 dollars during HH it was so-so had more of a strong grape juice punch at that point I knew I would not be ordering another one. I debated going to sangria 71 lol I loveeee their red sangria!!! Guava wings 7 dollars during HH hot and crispy with barely any guava sauce. I scrapped some from the plate to get to try the sauce. The sauce tasted good from the little I was able to taste. 4 small pieces for 7 dollars is pretty pricey. You're better off ordering a regular order of wings which comes in at $13 with 8 pieces. Beef empanadas two very small empanadas but it was tasty. Tapas ceviche it came with one shrimp cut up in a small cup. This dish was ok. I don't know if the entrees are a better option here. I found the place to be very nice but a bit pricey for what their offering. I don't mind at all wasting top dollars on good food but I'm not willing to take the chance here again for mediocre Cuban food. Also Jay O. wasn't too pleased with such an establishment as this that Amex is not accepted. We had our reservation and were seated right away. The ambiance was private but not secluded. Was not noisy and you just feel at home! We had fried calamari and Pulpo Salad. The calamari was perfect! the puplo salad was good just different from what I thought it would be. quality of the octopus itself was satisfactory. For the entrees I have the Churassco with Shrimp, white rice and black beans. I personally am a medium rare type of person and it came out exactly how I wanted it. awesome great dish! My partner had the same minus the shrimp and we split an order of maduros. just delicious! The customer service is perfect here. adequate timing for service and attentiveness ( You don't feel rushed or ignored, which I'm big on), The evening was wonderful for me and my partner.Complete success and happy customers and will be returning ! I've been coming here for years! Used to not frequent as much but recently back in the scene... I usually grab a gf and we sit at the bar for a bunch of splitting... we start with our casamigos reposado pineapple margaritas... split a cubano usually... I've had this on a regular baguette as well as multigrain, both are great.. and I love that they will cut it up into four pieces if u request... coconut shrimp is also always a great app to share. The newest thing I've tried was the black truffle Mac n cheese and it was really good. Perfect for the table! You can add lobster and something else but I forget... they do have a nice heated outside area where you can sit if you're not ready to commit to indoors just yet and I think they recently opened their basement dance club again! First time actually dining here. Restaurant itself is pretty nice. We were greeted promptly at the front and was seated immediately as we just got in right before the dinner rush! I took the advice of our server and ordered the tamarind margarita. I was not really a fan of this cocktail. I ordered the seafood paella but the rice came out kind of mushy and it was just ok. I'm confused as to why people rave about this dish? It seems like it was made in a huge pot and scooped onto my iron plate to be served after it has been sitting for hours... that's my take on it. The server was extra sweet... little one was not crazy about her Mac and cheese ( I thought it tasted great but she was not a fan of the crusted breadcrumbs on top and she didn't enjoy the strong Parmesan cheese flavor. She refused to eat it so the server suggested to bring out something else instead. Grilled cheese. She saved the evening. If it wasn't for that, I really don't have much compliments regarding the drinks &/or the food here. They have a lot of room for improvement.
