I had used Cochrans for well over a few years (dont know why). Like others, we found them in our Church Business directory. We were happy to have found a pool cleaning business in Gilbert as that is where we live. Well..
We have one Sissoo tree near our pool. It sheds a little all year and Feb-March it is a bear due to winter burns. The Pool Tech, as time went on, needed to spend a bit more time on my pool, netting leaves, emptying pump and skimmer baskets (isnt this part of their service?). I paid cochran monthly for once a week care. As months went on, the pool tech grew more and more agitated doing our pool. Because it slowed him down on his route.
I started receiving phone calls from office manager telling me I need to cut down my tree. That her service tech was not happy that my pool was slowing him down on his route. At this point, I was not happy with her. She was not at all pleasant and was rather direct in telling me what I should do with my backyard. I told her no, we like the tree, its not coming down.
These phone calls occured at least 4-5 other times. Each time I said no. So they upped my monthly service because of how long it took their complaining Pool Tech to take to service my pool. I thought it was reasonable and agreed to it. You would think all is good.
Few months later, I get a phone call from Mr Cochran, telling me I should do something about my tree. He even suggested he could spread some type of acid around it to kill it! I was like what? Again, I am paying more a month so deal with it - right? The pool tech was rude and changed his arrival hour so we never saw him. The Pool Tech NEVER approached us about any issues, ever. We always heard from the office manager, and she was not always pleasant/friendly. Now I think about it, I dont think ever.
Finally, 3 weeks ago, I received another office manager phone call, complaining and whining about my pool and Sissoo tree.
I had enough of Cochrans and fired them, let them go, whatever you want to call it. I know its what they wanted. Pool companies should have good customer relationships, not tell you how you should do your backyard and not have a whining, complaining Pool Tech who never talked to the customer. They never offered positive solutions to their problem other than cut your tree down.
Steer clear of this company. Not worth the headaches - other pool companies do better work and dont have to work hard to have better customer service than cochrans. read more
