We got three different bids before deciding to go with Coastline. Their quote was similar to the others but their expertise was far greater. They especially were knowledgeable about our city's codes on parkway work. It was fascinating to watch the industrious and experienced crew get the work done in such an efficient and professional manner. We were also impressed at how well they cleaned up at the end of each work day. We were very happy with the results which were a huge improvement to the front of our property. We were a small job, which they made very clear to us from the beginning. We felt unimportant. I asked when they would be out to do the job. He said two to three weeks, but wouldn't give me an actual date. He said someone would call me back. This was the first of many times they said they would call back, and nobody did. I would have to call multiple times for answers, which were in the system but they failed to let me know. Our second job with a different company, which relied on Coastline completing theirs, was delayed multiple times thanks to them. Existing Technology cannot explain how pleased I am with my house make over by Coastline. We took our time and obtained 6 bids over a 3 month period. Coastline was not the cheapest but after the bid process I knew that they were the ones for the job.Several companies use uninsured employees which could spell disaster for a home owner. Bill showed up on time and within 10 minutes he gave me an exact quote and timeline. He advised that he would have 10 skilled workers here and the job would be complete in 2 days. He even had us meet him at the supply house to select the proper stone. Other builders offered a week timeline and one guy from Orange County advised that it was a 2 week job, that his crew "Knocks off by noon". This bozo showed up for an estimate wearing a "Tracys" bar shirt while his assistant was wearing a "Joe Jost" shirt. As promised, job supervisor Raymond and Bill were here at 645 AM and at 7AM th entire team went to work, all knowing their trade and what to do. The crew all gets along like family and every member uses "Sir" and "Maam" with all they contact. Not once did the crew even look at a cell phone. They labored non stop until 6PM. I live on Bellflower blvd, and several folks stopped by, asking questions. Workers offered "Please call the company and speak with Bill" when asked about side jobs. This is a clear indication of loyalty and honest work. I offered my trash cans for them to use but they declined, hauling away every speck in their trailer. They encountered old irrigation pipes, buried concrete and junk that needed to be removed and they did so without additional cost. The work is top notch Beverly Hills looking. The crew is honest as described above, and Raymond is an outstanding job foreman. I look forward to our backyard project next year!!!!! Thank you!!!! read more

They weren't working on my house but as my son and I were walking we stopped to look at a construction site (at a personal residence) this company was working on. I was explaining concrete and such when one of the workers came out and spent some time answering my sons questions about construction, the Bobcat and dump trucks. We even got a special picture at the end. It looked like it was his break time and I appreciate workers taking time to entertain a 5 year old who loves big machines. This is an updated review in response to Coastline's response. Neither Ashley or Bill called me back after several attempts. I requested a call back to schedule a date and time to complete the work and never received that. After 4 attempts, you'd think they'd at least call me and tell me they can no longer do the job. Regardless of the bid (misunderstanding you're calling it), the company never followed up to perform the work. That in and of itself, is terrible customer service. read more

Our backyard looks amazing! Bill knows his stuff and knew not only what we wanted, but what we needed. The crew that Bill has working for him take pride in their work and not in the business of cutting corners or rushing. The demo was grueling and I felt awful for these guys working so hard in the heat of July. They were relentless in tearing down a planter that a previous owner had filled in with concrete and created unusable space back there. A huge man with a sledge hammer laid waste to that planter, and then guys tore everything out with jackhammers and wheelbarrows in about 2 days. They also demoed an old purgala that was a major hazard. Day 3 they laid the concrete for 1100 square feet, built a wall around the pool pump and side, and installed a drainage system (thank God for the drains!) . I wish they stuck around a little longer to thank all of them for their hard work, but they were all cleaned up and off to the next job before I knew it like Mission Impossible. I have gone through quite a few remodels for different areas of my house (interior and exterior) over the last few years. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend any of the contractors I've used to someone else. That all changed after my recent experiences with Coastline Masonry. I'm sure I can be a pretty picky/OCD at times, but I would think that most homeowners should be that way when they're spending a lot of money on something they care about. No matter what concerns I had along the way, Bill (the owner) was always there to hear me out and make things right one way or another. This even went as far as having to completely rip out two new steps and pour them again when I didn't feel like they matched right the first time around. Bill always said that he warranties his work and cares about his customers being happy. This sounded great and all, but I had heard it before. It was Bill's actions and overall work ethic throughout both projects I've had in the last few months that showed me he truly takes pride in his work. Bill was even able to provide great insight to my wife and I when selecting what types of stones and colors to use. I am P-I-C-K-Y...and I have NO complaints (only praises) for the work Coastline did for me. I had a substantial amount of old concrete removed, new concrete poured, fire pit constructed, drains and lighting installed, etc. It was not a small job but the crew was done - start to finish - in an AMAZING 5 days. The scheduled start was 7am each day and the crew consistently arrived at 6:45am. The guys were hard working, courteous, and clean. At the end of each shift they swept and washed down the work area and neatly stored their tools. Bill (the owner) was at the job site every morning, every evening, and often throughout the day to check job progression. If I had any concerns or questions that could not be handled by his workers, he called me immediately. I had gotten several bids for this job and had been thinking for some time about exactly what I wanted. I chose Coastline for the following reasons: 1) Bill knows the business and helped with design ideas even during the estimate. He thought of things in 15 min. that I hadn't even considered for my project and in the end I incorporated every single one of his awesome ideas. 2) He puts a large crew to work to get the job DONE! It can be difficult to live through construction. The fact that he employs a staff large enough to accomplish a job that took half the time others had quoted me for completion was important. 3) He didn't collect one single penny from me until the job was 100% finished. Seriously? No one does that these days! Today is New Year's Eve. Bill took the time out of his day to personally drop off a shorter gas key (at my request) for the fire pit than the one I was originally given. Refer back to my opening statement...P-I-C-K-Y! This is a owner who pays attention to detail and wants complete satisfaction from his customers. I could go on with many examples of the craftsmanship, professionalism, and honesty that I experienced with Coastline. Suffice it to say, I couldn't be happier with my results. I would highly recommend Coastline Masonry. I received about 4 or 5 estimates from other contractors to have a new driveway, planter and walkway installed. I then called Coastline after reading all of the positive reviews and that's when Bill from Coastline came out to give me an estimate. I felt very comfortable with him when I met him and could tell he was honest plus he really knew his business. I decided to go with CoastIine based on the reviews I read along with his professionalism. He listened to me patiently when I changed my mind several times on what work I wanted to have done due to trying to stay within my budget. I was put on the waiting list to have the work done and Ashley was always very helpful and professional with the scheduling process. If a company has a waiting list then you know they must be good and worth the wait and they were! On Monday, Jan 7, the crew was scheduled to start at 7:00am. They all showed up on time and ready to work. I met with Bill each morning at 7:00am to go over the work they would be doing each day. It only took about 30 minutes and I left for work by 7:30am. The crew worked very well together and Luis (foreman) was very professional and knew his stuff. All of the work was done in 3 days (driveway, planters and walkway) and they did a beautiful job! I couldn't be any happier! Even my neighbors told me that the crew worked very hard every day and couldn't believe how fast the job was completed. Coastline removed my old front walkway and planter, then replaced it with a stone walkway and brick planter. I was fully satisfied with the project, which took a total of 3 days to complete. As far as the company, it is a family-owned business and they are very professional. Bill is the main guy and I could tell that he takes a lot of pride in his work. He was always punctual and explained plans clearly. I never felt like I was in the dark. His office staff (also family) contacted me back promptly whenever I called. Coastline is not cheap, but the cost was reasonable when I compared to other companies, which did not seem as professional or even as interested in my project as Coastline. I built a new construction 800 square foot ADU behind my garage over the last year, basically a small house. Coastline Masonry just finished 2 porches, patio, walkway a total of 1,100 square feet of flat work. The Coastline crew came in one day and removed old concrete dirt compacted the dirt and placed rebar. On the second day they poured and finished the concrete. They left the outside area of my house cleaner than before they started. I highly recommend Coastline Masonry!!! Bill gave us a quote that matched our contractor (who is very cheap). Then he met with my neighbor and worked out our communal wall. A team of 10 people came at 7 in the morning and worked like a machine. They brought in every equipment imaginable. They were professional, precise, and they have pride in their work. All of his team members get along and seriously seem to enjoy the work they do, which is seriously labor intensive. Even the Cypress inspector could not stop talking about how impressed he was with them and how they are able to do all the work so quickly and accurately. Coastline Masonry finished the first section so quickly that the only waiting/lunch/down time they had was waiting for the city inspector to continue. I have had months of construction done by other companies at my house and Coastline Masonry supersedes them all. If you want to work done correctly, then hire Bill. After decades of working with companies, I've realized that working with a family owned company makes a huge difference. We live in Lakewood with the long narrow driveway and got tired of juggling vehicles, plus street sweeping day tickets. So got it widened for extra parking space in front. Bill and his crew were excellent. A good group of hard working guys. All done at reasonable cost. On July 12, 2016, our journey started when a neighbor drove into our small cut de sac and hit our brick planter, the block wall behind it, ultimately being stopped by a big apple tree in my adjoining neighbors back yard. Some companies spend time coming out and then never bother to get back to the potential customer with a quote. Bill, from Coastline, came out actually a few minutes before the scheduled time. He gave me a quote on the spot and was willing to work with the City of Cypress on getting the 20' of block wall permitted. Most companies don't want to be bothered which has to make one wonder about the quality of work they would do and where it conforms to industry standards. They completed the block wall along with a couple other small jobs in three days. The job would have been done in one day if workers wouldn't have had to wait for the city inspector to come out before proceeding to the next phase of wall construction. Each day, the workers arrived shortly before 700 am and cleaned up my property before they left at the end of their work day. I would definitely use coastline again and anyone reading this could take comfort in knowing they do good quality work. read more
