This review is just for our estimate. Raymond came to our house for a planter wall replacement. He was knowledgeable, honest, and no pressure. I absolutely appreciate that when I I'm learning about something I have no clue about. Also, he was on time, and gave me some suggestions. If this is representative of the rest of the company, then I hope to work with them in the future! read more

Ray came out the day I called for a quote. He is personable and honest...a real professional. The price was good. The day the job started, a whole crew showed up early and started setting up. Ray went over the details of the job one more time to check for accuracy so there were no problems. Everyone worked hard and got the job done. The work crew was friendly and enjoying their day, despite the heat. They were a great team and liked working together. It was our pleasure to have this company do work at our house and we would definitely call them again. Thank you Ray and crew!! -Mike B. read more

Coastline is awesome--the best experience we've had with a contractor. Everything about working with Coastline was great. It was easy to schedule a time for an estimate and they showed up exactly when they said they would. We had a complicated series of concrete pads that needed pouring and a block wall built; these all needed to be integrated around an existing pool and a deck under construction and they were happy to spend all the time necessary to walk my property and go over each element in our design making sure they know what we wanted and how we wanted it done and making sure we were informed about all the options we had and how Coastline would be doing the work. The crew showed up on the street promptly 5 minutes before the start of work time each day and kept the work site clean. The crew was easy to communicate with and any concern or minor change I had during the process was addressed with a "no problem" attitude, and the quality of the work they do is very good. Bill and/or Ray were on site each day to check the work and make sure the crew knew the details of the job. Likewise Bill and Ray are easy to work with. The work they did came out phenomenal, they were out every day and finished the job in exactly the number of days they said it would take, and the price was very reasonable. We've dealt with many, many contractors over the years and Coastline is the best contractor we've ever had in terms of communication, doing the job as scheduled, quality of workmanship, and price If you need some masonry work done these are the guys to call. read more

Coastline Masonry just finished redoing our double driveway and hardscaping the parkway with brick. We can see why they get all these great reviews on Yelp. We got three different bids before deciding to go with Coastline. Their quote was similar to the others but their expertise was far greater. They especially were knowledgeable about our city's codes on parkway work. It was fascinating to watch the industrious and experienced crew get the work done in such an efficient and professional manner. We were also impressed at how well they cleaned up at the end of each work day. We were very happy with the results which were a huge improvement to the front of our property. Would we ever use Coastline again? You bet! read more

Bill and Coastline did an AMAZING job! They built a front patio seating area with a privacy wall and tore out existing concrete steps and redesigned the steps. The job took two days. The job site was clean and free of any construction mess every night. We cannot say enough about Coastline! read more

Coastline tore out an old concrete patio and poured about 600 sq ft of concrete for a new deck with a fire pit and a block wall around the whole thing. Had everything you want in a contractor: good pricing, great crew, met their timing deadlines, good communication and cleaned up after each day. read more

We were a small job, which they made very clear to us from the beginning. We felt unimportant. I asked when they would be out to do the job. He said two to three weeks, but wouldn't give me an actual date. He said someone would call me back. This was the first of many times they said they would call back, and nobody did. I would have to call multiple times for answers, which were in the system but they failed to let me know. Our second job with a different company, which relied on Coastline completing theirs, was delayed multiple times thanks to them. I would have fired them if I had had time to hire another company before our other job. read more

They weren't working on my house but as my son and I were walking we stopped to look at a construction site (at a personal residence) this company was working on. I was explaining concrete and such when one of the workers came out and spent some time answering my sons questions about construction, the Bobcat and dump trucks. We even got a special picture at the end. It looked like it was his break time and I appreciate workers taking time to entertain a 5 year old who loves big machines. You don't get many companies who still make those connections willingly. read more

Although the person I spoke with on the phone was friendly, I never received a call back for setting up an appt for some concrete work. Personally they lose my business. And i will only deal with 5 star helpers! This 1 star messes them up :( Update: I upgraded to 3 stars because I received a response and decided to give it another shot. Stay tuned....stars may change. Actually, this is partially my bad, because i did NOT talk to anyone on the phone but left a message. Still never received a return phone call, but am calling them today. read more

We hired Coastline to build a pool, deck, block wall and other miscellaneous concrete work around our house. From our first contact to the end of the project, we found them to be incredibly professional and knowledgeable. They completed the job quickly because they were organized in scheduling the various components of the job. The workers were super courteous and clean. We plan to use Coastline again for future projects and would strongly recommend them to anyone looking for masonry work. It should also be noted that the city inspector commented the great quality of work done. They are truly artists! read more

Coastline just completed a large concrete patio replacement for us...quality work from start to finish. They were on time, did high quality work, and cleaned up nicely. The owner and foreman made sure the work was done right, and to our satisfaction. Highly recommend. read more

This is an updated review in response to Coastline's response. Neither Ashley or Bill called me back after several attempts. I requested a call back to schedule a date and time to complete the work and never received that. After 4 attempts, you'd think they'd at least call me and tell me they can no longer do the job. Regardless of the bid (misunderstanding you're calling it), the company never followed up to perform the work. That in and of itself, is terrible customer service. read more

These guys are the "Pros From Dover". It was a pleasure to work with the Coastline Crew from the very start. They were very competent and agreeable in every phase of my drive way and side walk project. They were punctual, professional and REALLY GOOD at what they do. I'm very pleased with work they did and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to any one that is looking for high quality, fairly priced concrete or masonry work! read more

Our backyard looks amazing! Bill knows his stuff and knew not only what we wanted, but what we needed. The crew that Bill has working for him take pride in their work and not in the business of cutting corners or rushing. The demo was grueling and I felt awful for these guys working so hard in the heat of July. They were relentless in tearing down a planter that a previous owner had filled in with concrete and created unusable space back there. A huge man with a sledge hammer laid waste to that planter, and then guys tore everything out with jackhammers and wheelbarrows in about 2 days. They also demoed an old purgala that was a major hazard. Day 3 they laid the concrete for 1100 square feet, built a wall around the pool pump and side, and installed a drainage system (thank God for the drains!) . I wish they stuck around a little longer to thank all of them for their hard work, but they were all cleaned up and off to the next job before I knew it like Mission Impossible. Great work guys and thanks to everyone at Coastline! I'll try to post before and after pictures soon. It looks like a different house now. read more

We are a local lake wood fence contracting company and whenever we need any type of masonry work done we know who to call, Coastline Masonry! We recently installed a gate on a new wall and the gate swung open further than normal causing a brick to break. Our customer had a company come out for a quote and let's just say the number was astronomical. We then called Bill the owner of Coastline Masonry and once again he gave us not only an excellent price but completed the job in an amazing time frame and with excellent quality workmanship. read more

I have gone through quite a few remodels for different areas of my house (interior and exterior) over the last few years. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend any of the contractors I've used to someone else. That all changed after my recent experiences with Coastline Masonry. I'm sure I can be a pretty picky/OCD at times, but I would think that most homeowners should be that way when they're spending a lot of money on something they care about. No matter what concerns I had along the way, Bill (the owner) was always there to hear me out and make things right one way or another. This even went as far as having to completely rip out two new steps and pour them again when I didn't feel like they matched right the first time around. Bill always said that he warranties his work and cares about his customers being happy. This sounded great and all, but I had heard it before. It was Bill's actions and overall work ethic throughout both projects I've had in the last few months that showed me he truly takes pride in his work. Bill was even able to provide great insight to my wife and I when selecting what types of stones and colors to use. Anytime I need anymore masonry/hardscape work done in the future I won't even consider looking anywhere else! read more

I am P-I-C-K-Y...and I have NO complaints (only praises) for the work Coastline did for me. I had a substantial amount of old concrete removed, new concrete poured, fire pit constructed, drains and lighting installed, etc. It was not a small job but the crew was done - start to finish - in an AMAZING 5 days. The scheduled start was 7am each day and the crew consistently arrived at 6:45am. The guys were hard working, courteous, and clean. At the end of each shift they swept and washed down the work area and neatly stored their tools. Bill (the owner) was at the job site every morning, every evening, and often throughout the day to check job progression. If I had any concerns or questions that could not be handled by his workers, he called me immediately. I had gotten several bids for this job and had been thinking for some time about exactly what I wanted. I chose Coastline for the following reasons: 1) Bill knows the business and helped with design ideas even during the estimate. He thought of things in 15 min. that I hadn't even considered for my project and in the end I incorporated every single one of his awesome ideas. 2) He puts a large crew to work to get the job DONE! It can be difficult to live through construction. The fact that he employs a staff large enough to accomplish a job that took half the time others had quoted me for completion was important. 3) He didn't collect one single penny from me until the job was 100% finished. Seriously? No one does that these days! Today is New Year's Eve. Bill took the time out of his day to personally drop off a shorter gas key (at my request) for the fire pit than the one I was originally given. Refer back to my opening statement...P-I-C-K-Y! This is a owner who pays attention to detail and wants complete satisfaction from his customers. I could go on with many examples of the craftsmanship, professionalism, and honesty that I experienced with Coastline. Suffice it to say, I couldn't be happier with my results. These guys earned every dime I paid them, AND THEN SOME. Thank you! read more

I would highly recommend Coastline Masonry. I received about 4 or 5 estimates from other contractors to have a new driveway, planter and walkway installed. I then called Coastline after reading all of the positive reviews and that's when Bill from Coastline came out to give me an estimate. I felt very comfortable with him when I met him and could tell he was honest plus he really knew his business. I decided to go with CoastIine based on the reviews I read along with his professionalism. He listened to me patiently when I changed my mind several times on what work I wanted to have done due to trying to stay within my budget. I was put on the waiting list to have the work done and Ashley was always very helpful and professional with the scheduling process. If a company has a waiting list then you know they must be good and worth the wait and they were! On Monday, Jan 7, the crew was scheduled to start at 7:00am. They all showed up on time and ready to work. I met with Bill each morning at 7:00am to go over the work they would be doing each day. It only took about 30 minutes and I left for work by 7:30am. The crew worked very well together and Luis (foreman) was very professional and knew his stuff. All of the work was done in 3 days (driveway, planters and walkway) and they did a beautiful job! I couldn't be any happier! Even my neighbors told me that the crew worked very hard every day and couldn't believe how fast the job was completed. I already told Bill I will having new pavers installed in my backyard in a few months and I am definitely going with Coastline Masonry! read more

Existing Technology cannot explain how pleased I am with my house make over by Coastline. We took our time and obtained 6 bids over a 3 month period. Coastline was not the cheapest but after the bid process I knew that they were the ones for the job.Several companies use uninsured employees which could spell disaster for a home owner. Bill showed up on time and within 10 minutes he gave me an exact quote and timeline. He advised that he would have 10 skilled workers here and the job would be complete in 2 days. He even had us meet him at the supply house to select the proper stone. Other builders offered a week timeline and one guy from Orange County advised that it was a 2 week job, that his crew "Knocks off by noon". This bozo showed up for an estimate wearing a "Tracys" bar shirt while his assistant was wearing a "Joe Jost" shirt. As promised, job supervisor Raymond and Bill were here at 645 AM and at 7AM th entire team went to work, all knowing their trade and what to do. The crew all gets along like family and every member uses "Sir" and "Maam" with all they contact. Not once did the crew even look at a cell phone. They labored non stop until 6PM. I live on Bellflower blvd, and several folks stopped by, asking questions. Workers offered "Please call the company and speak with Bill" when asked about side jobs. This is a clear indication of loyalty and honest work. I offered my trash cans for them to use but they declined, hauling away every speck in their trailer. They encountered old irrigation pipes, buried concrete and junk that needed to be removed and they did so without additional cost. The work is top notch Beverly Hills looking. The crew is honest as described above, and Raymond is an outstanding job foreman. I look forward to our backyard project next year!!!!! Thank you!!!! read more

Coastline Masonry did an amazing job with our yards! We needed stone and brick put in to extend our hardscape and they did an excellent job. We have had "Coastline Masonry" replace damaged blockwall on two occasions. The office staff is efficient and pleasant to talk to. They followed up on all our requests and needs in a timely manner. We highly recommend "Coastline Masonry" as an excellent company to work with and will use them again if needed. read more

Great work! Just had stone veeneer added to the front of my house and garage. It looks so great.4 guys arrived at 7:00am ready go. They worked so fast, and did such a quality job. Bill and his team did great work on a large job and again recently for a smaller one. We had an old brick patio removed and new concrete poured as well as new walkways. They also repaired an existing brick walkway and matched color on existing steps. His bids are always more than competitive and more importantly, his crew leaves without a trace. No damage to the lawn or sprinklers, no trash left behind. Everyone is professional and respectful of your home. I would highly recommend them! read more

Coastline removed my old front walkway and planter, then replaced it with a stone walkway and brick planter. I was fully satisfied with the project, which took a total of 3 days to complete. As far as the company, it is a family-owned business and they are very professional. Bill is the main guy and I could tell that he takes a lot of pride in his work. He was always punctual and explained plans clearly. I never felt like I was in the dark. His office staff (also family) contacted me back promptly whenever I called. Coastline is not cheap, but the cost was reasonable when I compared to other companies, which did not seem as professional or even as interested in my project as Coastline. I highly recommend them. read more

Beautiful Job, Coastline! I was referred by a mutual friend of the owner, Bill, to have an estimate on remodeling my front and back yard. He was very professional and gave me ideas on what to do. He personally met me at South Coast Supply so I may choose the materials and colors I wanted for the stone veneers and brick work. (I did choose a different color of bricks then he suggested and I regret it so take his word). His workers are very professional and ready to complete an excellent job. I also had Marathon Grass and Irrigation installed for both front and back yards and it is very beautiful as well! I recommend Coastline Masonry very highly and if Bill tells you to drive by my home, in Lakewood, as a sample, be my guest! read more

I had a very specific vision for my back and side yards. Bill and his team made sure that it looked exactly as I planned. The scope of work included, a paver patio and walkways, multiple brick planters, including a seating wall planter topped with bluestone, two brick and bluestone porches, a brick faced block wall,(all handmade face and full bricks), concrete walkways with paver ribbons, cast iron gate installation with brick pilasters and irrigation systems. Professional, good quality work, done in a timely manner. Great Crew. I would recommend Coastline Masonry. read more

Highly recommend Coastline. They installed a concrete footing and pavers in our backyard and we couldn't be happier. His crew arrive ON TIME each day (I have to stress on time b/c I know after 6 mths of working with contractors, this is VERY rare), are professional and clean up the work area upon completion. I wouldn't think twice about hiring them again. Bill also helped us change our hardscaping design which we thrilled with. He has a lot of experience and knows what he's talking about. They are very busy so book them as soon as you can! read more

I highly recommend Coastline Masonry!!! Bill gave us a quote that matched our contractor (who is very cheap). Then he met with my neighbor and worked out our communal wall. A team of 10 people came at 7 in the morning and worked like a machine. They brought in every equipment imaginable. They were professional, precise, and they have pride in their work. All of his team members get along and seriously seem to enjoy the work they do, which is seriously labor intensive. Even the Cypress inspector could not stop talking about how impressed he was with them and how they are able to do all the work so quickly and accurately. Coastline Masonry finished the first section so quickly that the only waiting/lunch/down time they had was waiting for the city inspector to continue. I have had months of construction done by other companies at my house and Coastline Masonry supersedes them all. If you want to work done correctly, then hire Bill. After decades of working with companies, I've realized that working with a family owned company makes a huge difference. I've read other reviews about Bill and he isn't the smooth salesman that you might be used to working with, but he does the job right. read more

We live in Lakewood with the long narrow driveway and got tired of juggling vehicles, plus street sweeping day tickets. So got it widened for extra parking space in front. Bill and his crew were excellent. A good group of hard working guys. All done at reasonable cost. They removed old sidewalk and a ton of dirt, tied new concrete to present driveway, leveled, rebar, and all done in about 1/2 a day. They returned to remove forms and clean up after a couple days. My wife and I are very happy with the high-quality work done by the contractor and crew of Coastline Masonry. Bill met with us personally and gave us expert advice about the design and materials of our new walkway. Our HOA had a lengthy cobblestone stamped driveway that was badly cracked and needed to be replaced. Additionally we has several sections of our concrete swale that also needed replacement. We were impressed by the number of workers assigned to the tasks, their professionalism and workmanship. It was labor intensive work and much more involved than we initially envisioned. We were told all the work would be completed in two days and they met that deadline. The did an excellent cleanup job and went above and beyond their obligations by helping us to move 40+ trash cans so that trash trucks didn't have to drive through our complex and potentially damage completed concrete work. We would definitely use them for any future projects. read more
