Bill is a rare find and a true craftsman. He is one of the most professional and friendly contractors that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Here is a list of the work that was performed: -Brick and ledgestone applied to a BBQ island and firepit -Concrete countertops on the BBQ island and firepit -Natural slate installed over an existing concrete patio -25 foot long brick planter with bullnose caps I have been tinkering with this backyard project for quite some time and finally decided to bring in a professional to finish off the hardscape........I'm so glad I did. My project was a little different because I had done the BBQ island structure myself, but wanted a professional to do the stone/brick work. I know from experience, that having a contractor come into a job and finish what was started by another can be difficult, but Bill and his exceptional crew knocked it out without a hitch. The patio slab was also installed by another concrete contractor, but Bill assured me that the slate installation would be easy and you would think that the whole area was done at the same time......he was right, as it has that perfect, uniform, seamless appearance. The 25 foot long brick planter was built to match an existing planter and it matches perfectly and was very well done. I was also in a scheduling bind because of landscape/sod installation, and Bill was very accommodating and worked with me on a date that was good for everyone. In a nutshell, Bill is about as honest as they come and is extremely knowledgeable with his trade. His crew is exceptional, and kept the project clean and orderly (that's a big one for me), they're also friendly and courteous. The whole project from start to finish was an awesome experience and done in a very timely manner. Bill showed up when he said he would, his crew was on time and he returned all of phone calls.......something that I'm not accustomed to from other contractors. From the guys cutting brick and setting stone, to the guys who are swinging by to pick up/drop off material, they are all professional and a pleasure to deal with. This is the second time I have used the company and both times they were reliable, professional, and the finished product was exactly what we wanted. In April coastline installed pavers in our parkway and walkway. Recently the city of HB, executed a major street and curb repair job and we had concerns that the pavers would be damaged. I think I was the first customer on our block to use Coastline Masonry in 2017. Since then 4 or 5 of my neighbors have used them also. From what I hear from neighborhood talk, they have all been as happy as we are. Our most recent job included demo of a large concrete front patio and driveway, pouring a new driveway and parking area, and a beautiful new stone walkway and sitting area. This job was quoted in December of 2021, and Bill let us know that we would have to wait a few months. During that time he kept us up to date on his schedule and worked with us to start the job with our vacation schedule in mind. When we finally got a start date that worked for us both everything happened just as promised. Bill said they would start at 7:00 am on Tuesday, and at 6:45 am on that day we had half a dozen trucks, a bobcat, and 10 or so workers ready to go. This is an unbelievably great crew that has worked together for years. Super helpful foreman that was always ready to answer questions and let us know what would be happening. That first day was all demo, and we were amazed at how hard these guys went at it. It was a noisy mess, but by 5 pm everything was cleaned up and washed down and ready for the next steps on Wednesday when Bill's crew laid out the forms for the concrete that would arrive the next day. We had a few minor changes to make, and the crew was very helpful in helping us make last minute decisions. When concrete arrived on Thursday is when we really got to see these guys work together as team. It was very obvious that they are not only professional, but that they knew what part they would each play in getting everything done right. On Friday they laid out all of the stone work, and on Monday they set all of the stone and finished up. Bill was on the job site most mornings to make sure everything was coming along, and each day the crew did not leave our property until everything was cleaned up and washed down. I was pleasantly surprised when Bill provided a written quote the day he came to estimate my project (2 driveways and a backyard). The quote was comparable with other quotes I received and since my project was mostly masonry, I selected Coastline two weeks later. Six weeks after that, Coastline started my project. Raymond, who oversaw the project helped in providing options and reasonable pricing in correcting potential issues (i.e., drainage) and changes in scope. We have been dreaming of a new backyard for years. Besides budget, part of our reasons for putting it off was the intimidation of not really knowing what to expect, how to get started and the hassle of dealing with contractors that overprice and take advantage of two female homeowners. We received 4 bids for our job an Coastline is the only company that didn't quote us double of what the cost of the job should be. Here are a few reasons I chose Coastline: 1) Ashely answered the first time I called and booked an appointment for an estimate. She was professional, answered all my questions and didn't make me feel rushed. They are a family owned and operated company. 2) Bill was on time for his estimate and gave me a written quote on the spot. His price was competitive. He was the ONLY contractor that didn't try to quote us at least double for the job. We had done our homework on the approximate cost for concrete deck, pour in coping and patio and all the others tried to over charge us. 3) We were already in contract with a pool remodel company and Bill said he was willing to work with them and coordinate timing for the concrete demo and other steps of the process. 4) Bill and his crew were right on schedule. They showed up when they told us they were, they were on time and his crew worked hard everyday they were here. The demo and haul away of the old concrete was done in 2 days. Other contractors told us it would take 4-5 days. This was a big job. For the most part it went smooth and without problems. Bill was available to me by phone when I had questions and worked well with the pool remodel company as promised. That communication was very important for our process. Here is what we had done by Coastline: Demo/Haul away of old concrete and coping, pour-in-place stamped and colored pool coping, colored and stamped pool deck and patio, drains added to the pool deck and patio and decko seal. Bill offered suggestions on the design for the pool deck that was so much better than what we had originally wanted. His expertise and experience helped us achieve more than what we expected. He even helped us choose the tile for the pool and it wasn't part of the job he was doing for us. The only thing we are waiting on is for the concrete to fully cure and the color in the concrete to even out. Due to the cold weather, there are parts of the concrete that haven't been touched much by the sun. I believe the heat of the summer will help that. Even with that minor issue, everything looks great! We will be calling on Coastline for future jobs and referring them to our friends. Don't be fooled by Bill's "gruff" exterior. He is good at what he does and cares about the job. He wants his customers to love the outcome and that's what the entire crew strives to achieve! I first Heard about Coastline Masonry through South Coast Supply in Los Alamitos. After meeting with Bill Jordan for the first time to discuss our plans, with his ideas we decided to look no further and hire his company. Bill Jordan and his crew added stone veneer over our 30+ year old slumpstone retaining walls and incorporated glass block columns for lighting. They also extended out the front porch with stone, enlarged the driveway, and added stone ribbon across the driveway to match the new front porch. It turned out absolutely beautiful and made a huge difference to the appearance of the front of our home. We highly recommend using Coastline Masonry! Our first impression was that Bill is a professional and knowledgeable person in the Masonry field. The price he quoted us for the work was reasonable and competitive. I first found Coastline Masonry online when I searched for hardscape services in the area. I decided to have them out for an estimate when I saw the great reviews they received from everyone online. I was looking to take out a lot of old, run-down hardscape and replace it with a more updated design. Bill came out and gave me an estimate. He was on time, very professional, and honest about his recommendations for the job. His price was very reasonable, and I felt very comfortable going forward with him after we met. We are so very appreciative to Bill Jordan and Ashley at Coastline Masonry for the exceptional and so very affordable installation of ledge stone surrounding the garage door of our home. Bill was more than fair with his very competitive price and had no qualms about taking on a smaller project compared with his bigger demands. He made sure that he could schedule our project and gave us details as to where we could view the sample ledge stone. Once selected on the day, he immediately made a call to the company to start the ordering process with his excellent discount. The price of our ledge stone and installation was all inclusive. The crew was punctual, expeditious, tidy, and friendly. Since I was on holiday, I did not get a chance to see the work until I returned home from my trip. I did find that there were some gaps in the ledge stone and specifically in the seam between the garage and the roof, but Bill and Ashley kindly and courteously assured me that they would take care of this. And it certainly was taken care of, and taken care of so very well. The quality of the workmanship is excellent and we would not hesitate to hire Bill and Coastline Masonry again for further work. I met with several contractors for a pretty big hardscape remodel. Once I Met bill i immediately liked him. He is very self assured and professional. Throughout the negotiation process, he kept telling me not to worry and that they would fix this, or correct that. I felt I was in good hands. So... Good: 1.Promised it would be done in 10 days, in fact it took a little longer. Still, under two weeks is amazing especially compared to the other contractors who quoted a month or longer. The guys work very hard. 2. Kept me abreast of any additional costs as we progressed- no surprise bills!!! 3. Easy to reach office staff. Bad: 1. During initial consult., said they'd "throw in" things but later "forgot" because they were not written down 2. Day one, we had 9 guys here. Progressively fewer and fewer...in fact the average number was 3. A few days, no one came as they were waiting for supplies. 3. Finish product not as meticulous as I had hoped. 4. Prior to starting, I was under the impression that Bill, the owner, would be here quite often, in fact he came for an hour on day one to direct his "foreman". He came by at least one other day, in my absence but I would have loved to have been told that he did in fact not supervise anyone. 5. I wanted the white grout and the seal around the pool to match but he only offered grey. I found several products in white but since he never used them, he wouldn't recommend. Not having any experience with these products has cost me design imperfections. I feel if they want to grow as a company, they need to try new things and be brave enough to offer more stylish products. 5. Said they'd put up temp fences but never did - leaving us open to liability issues. 6. A day after the first concrete pour, I noticed a crack. I assumed they'd fix it, but they just said to read the contract as they are not responsible for cracks. Crazy to think I had them take out cracked concrete just to be replaced it's cracked concrete. The answer was to add a fiber to the rest of the concrete - now we have two very different textured surfaces. Not really what we wanted. 7. Never power-washed the street after getting it very dirty. Still waiting for that power wash. 8. It was not recommended to me to get rain gutters installed prior to starting and the water/condensation coming off the roof has left stains on the concrete. When I called to ask what we could use to clean it up, nothing was recommended. 9. Excess concrete that oozes out of the forms is just left there. I had to ask if they could come back and grind off spots as well as fill spots that had no concrete in them (corners, behind poles, etc). They did come back but missed quite a few spots. I guess I'd recommend them if you want something fast (maybe for a flip?) but if you are picky and plan on living with it, you may want to look around or hire these guys but micromanage them daily to ensure everything is being done to your specifications. I should have but trusted it would get done right. read more

I hired Bill and Coastline to help expand the usable area of my property in Belmont Shore, and they did a fantastic job. He helped design and build a 6' wall along the long side of the house as well as front and back patios. He has a great relationship with his crew and suppliers (South Coast Supply is where we got the tile). Bill also was able to recommend a great plumber and stucco specialist to help me complete the work I needed done on the house. His quote was competitive and when there were modifications we discussed the pricing ahead of time. His crew works quickly and they are friendly and polite. There was a snag with the permit (due to the city) and Bill helped solve the problem. Even considering the permit issue and the rain, the project was completed much sooner than I expected. I am very nit picky and did have one issue with some tile work (mostly bc it rained unexpectedly). Bill's response: no problem...they were out the next day and made it right, no questions asked. They went a long way with me. Several people stopped by during construction to compliment Coastline's work. I recommend giving Bill and the team a call if you are interested in working with a strong team that has alot of experience in Long Beach. It was easy to schedule a time for an estimate and they showed up exactly when they said they would. We had a complicated series of concrete pads that needed pouring and a block wall built; these all needed to be integrated around an existing pool and a deck under construction and they were happy to spend all the time necessary to walk my property and go over each element in our design making sure they know what we wanted and how we wanted it done and making sure we were informed about all the options we had and how Coastline would be doing the work. The crew showed up on the street promptly 5 minutes before the start of work time each day and kept the work site clean. The crew was easy to communicate with and any concern or minor change I had during the process was addressed with a "no problem" attitude, and the quality of the work they do is very good.
