We're currently in escrow for a home purchase and reached out to J&S Roofing for a roof inspection…read moreand estimate. Serafin came out to the property, and I was genuinely impressed by how thorough and detailed he was. He walked us through his observations on-site and provided a very clear, professional explanation of what needed attention. The estimate arrived the next day--quick, organized, and easy to understand. I initially contacted J&S because they handle both roofing and gutter installation, and their reviews were consistently positive. After meeting Serafin, I felt confident that I made the right choice. I also loved hearing that this is a family business--started by his father and now run by three brothers, which really speaks to their pride and integrity in their work. Serafin even showed us another house nearby where they had recently completed a roof project, and the work looked excellent--clean, solid, and professional. It was reassuring to see the quality of their craftsmanship right in the neighborhood. Buying a home can be incredibly stressful, with so many big financial decisions to make in a short period of time. Serafin's professionalism, clarity, and patience made the process so much easier, and his inspection and estimate truly helped us make informed decisions during escrow. We hope to move forward with this home and have the opportunity to work with Serafin and his team on the roof replacement. (I'll be sure to update this review once the project is completed, but so far, my experience with J&S Roofing has been excellent!)

I bought my house in Sherman Oaks in 1997 and while I was out of town on work for a couple months…read moreshortly after moving in, El Nino hit. Fortunately, my garage (which was storing much of what I had that wasn't in the house) was the only thing that suffered damage, Unfortunately, most of my mementos were destroyed. I reroofed, and now almost 30 years later, with rumors are that El Nino is making a return visit, I thought (since we had suffered minor leaks during some of the recent rains) it was time to reroof, so I put Yelp to work to find me some people to interview. I picked five for the information I could glean, asking few questions, since I knew opening my mouth connected to a brain that knows little about roofing, would be a bad idea and also seeing if people were helpful with their explanations. Everyone (maybe except one) was personable enough for me to think I could work with them, but much of the information was kinda the same thing (although I noted some improvements in roofing since 97 that were useful to ask each about). The prices were more or less the same, and close enough that I knew I could find a point that would be roughly around the general price for them all, so it wasn't money. It was rapport and ultimately who gave me the greatest sense of trust. And. I learned, information that no one else told me. Roy, with Top Roofing was the ONLY one of the five that I saw who discussed the solar pool heating on my roof with me; each of the people I met with went on the roof. Not one other person mentioned it, and if you have solar panels on the roof - it's a consideration in doing the job. When I called the others who'd come to the house to say I'd made my choice and asked why I picked someone else I told them this - it was determinative that one person told me this was a job that needed to be done in addition to the roofing. He hooked me up with a solar heating company, he'd worked with before and I got on the phone with them and felt reasonably satisfied that between them and Roy it would get done on time, on budget. (It's not a small add-on to have them remove and reinstall the works, so if this affects you, be warned). Roy stayed in touch with me throughout - He came by and we spoke on phone daily. We had agreed that in the cost we he would completely replace and repaint a tongue-and-groove porch which was pretty rotted out) and aside from some permit forms I had to fill out, gave me a date of less than a week every date was kept. His crew was punctual, and so neat - the pool was covered, they cleaned up each of the five days they worked. Roy walked the yard with me before they started so I could make sure my gardener trimmed where he needed to, then walked it again, to tell me where we might need to keep trimming. He touched base with me every day, and when it was over gave me a video of the roof (both the main house and the garage were reroofed), and the porch which looked haggard now looks beautiful. I can't say enough about what a positive experience this was. And it looks really good. And since the last time I put on a roof, the tile now cools down the exterior which is good to have in an LA summer. The roof is up, the solar heating is back in operation. Let's go. A roof is an expensive proposition, and I think it's ok to know little if you hire someone you believe in (and, I'll admit, test out a little bit at the onset), who speaks to you in a way that is helpful and doesn't overwhelm you, but I think this was an incredibly positive experience in terms of labor, cleanliness, schedule and most importantly communication. I think that if you meet with a number of roofers, you will agree with me. I highly recommend...

I got 5 estimates, compared notes, reviews and materials used. I am so happy with the results. The crew cleaned up well everyday and my rain gutters around my house was not damaged, which I was worried about. It has rained twice since my roof replacement, chef's kiss! No leaks And our house feels cooler with the cool roof shingles. I do notice the difference. Roof replacement is a nerve wrecking experience, Adir was patient and answered all my questions and made it easy for me.

He explained how he would fix issues and what options we had where things were failing. Anchor Point's quote was very competitive and he agreed to upgrade some of the materials to a higher grade. Their quote included some allowance for wood replacement from dry rot and termites. The "extra" wood is the hidden cost, because you don't know what wood is bad until you do the tear off. Then, you're stuck replacing wood, because it has to be fixed before the inspector can sign off. So the reroof is always the proposal PLUS any damaged wood replacement. So you have to factor that extra cost on top of the base proposal. Despite the companies shorter time in business, I found their knowledge and experience to be great. We didn't select Anchor Point Roofing, but they were a strong contender in roofers. We ended up with a general contractor because we had other work to do besides the roof and we wanted a coordinated project manager to handle the other upgrades as well as the re-roof. The general contractor could also complete the roofing this month and then we could start other projects like exterior painting.

He was always quick to respond, clear in his communication, and incredibly professional. I really appreciated how knowledgeable he was. I trusted him to make decisions on details like fascia size and a few style recommendations, and I am so glad I did because the final result looks amazing. We re roofed our house, garage, and a 900 square foot outdoor patio, and everything turned out top notch. Alex handled all of the permit appointments and had great communication every step of the way. What really stood out was how much he genuinely cared. He went above and beyond by hauling away some extra construction debris we had from another project and even fixed our gate out of the kindness of his heart. He also suggested adding extra vents, which we truly appreciated. When I was feeling indecisive about roofing options, he came back out with samples and walked me through everything patiently. It is rare to find this level of customer service and integrity. I would absolutely recommend Anchor Point Roofing to anyone looking for quality work, great pricing, and a company you can truly trust.

Replacing the roof was an expensive project we knew we eventually had to get done - and this was the summer we decided we couldn't ignore it any longer. My husband pulled out a listing from Yelp, plus referrals from friends and must've gone through like 2 dozen estimates. Jason was one of our earlier calls and quotes and even after a dozen quotes later, his demeanor, his explanation and his pricing stuck with my husband. We got a huge range of quotes and while J&D's wasn't the cheapest, it was fair based on the materials being used and the timeline presented. We called him back and he was able to get the work started a week later. They pulled the permit, demolition, installment and cleaned up all within a week pretty much. There was some wood damage which was expected and they changed it. City inspectors came to check and inspection passed. The workers did not leave any nails or debris on the ground. My husband went up on the roof and took a video and the work looks very clean and neat. During installation of the roof, there were some cracks in the interior ceiling in the house... Jason came to look at it, and his staff was able to come a few days later and get those fixed. Well, looks like we got the roof done just in time, because we got some rain this past weekend and guess what? No buckets were needed!!! woohoo!!! No longer stressed about the upcoming El Nino we've been promised this winter. :) We've already passed along J&D's contact along to family looking for roofers and would definitely recommend the company to our fellow neighborhood Yelpers as well. :)
