We first had American Roofmasters come out several years ago because we weren't sure if we needed to reroof. They explained what maintenance we could do, as well how many years the roof should have left. We have had them do inspections and perform maintenance a total of 3 times to prolong the life of the roof and make sure there are no leaks, especially with earthquakes and ground movement. A couple of years ago when it was raining a bunch, a termite inspector commented that he hadn't seen any leaks in the attic like some other houses he'd been to. Mark, Russell, and Karen are all knowledgeable and helpful. read more

Mark called on MLK day and asked if I was still available to have someone come out. Russell was out within the hour. American Roofmasters originally completed repair of my roof back in 2018. Six years later, I called them again to inspect my roof. The original roof repair held up after all these years! Nothing new had to be done this time. Foreman Russell is extremely knowledgeable and skilled (he worked on the original repairs). ARM fixed some loose tiles, sealed around open areas on the siding, eves, and joints to prevent pests from breaching and wind swept rain from entering through crevices. The roofer,Russell, was a real champ, because he had to work around a swarm of wasps for several days. ARM gave me a referral to a bee keeper, so two problems resolved. ARM will also touch up painted areas around repairs. read more

American Roofmasters came and inspected my old house. They were incredibly honest. They found a lot of things wrong (which was hard to hear), but instead of trying to sell me on work they could do - they explained that that would just get me by for a time. They explained that rather than just putting band aids on my roof it was time to get a new one - and a few other things. They did not make any money off this situation and could have convinced me to spend money on repairs. Instead they did the ethical thing and are helping me to find contractors that can fix my problems for the long haul. In the end I will save money and I am impressed and grateful for their help. She will not hesitate to tell you, you are not worth the crew's time, or it is an inefficient use of time to diagnose the problem with your roof, or if you think it IS that big of a problem she'll call you back MULTIPLE times in two minutes to tell you she'll pass it on to the owner and "maybe he'll call you back as he wants the business but he probably won't because it's probably not that big of an issue that would require our very busy crew to get out there as they have to pack their trucks with every contingency and not knowing your problem would be an inefficient use of their time so he won't call you back because you're wasting our time" - nearly verbatim. Is your roof tile brown or dark brown or light brown or in-between light and dark brown or in-between brown and light/dark brown tiles? Do not recommend, save your time looking elsewhere. Very disappointed with this roofing company. They say that are the best of the best but they are hard to get a hold of, they don't use modern technology to communicate (no email, always voice messaging), no invoices, etc and just all talk an no follow through. I paid alot of money to do some maintenance repairs and after 12 months (of no rain) it finally rained and the same exact leaks reappeared. They put Russell on the job and I don't think he is very good. After they charged me $8,500, they told me the next year that it was due to earthquakes and bad weather and that now I had to get a new roof and referred me to a new roofing company. Very unsatisfied and just a bunch of BS. I am never using them again. They talk about how if you are a customer once, then you are ahead of the line but no change. So hard to find a good roof maintenance company. Gave them additional chances and just get the same level of service and always saying they are so busy. No priority. read more

I waited 7 months for them to come and see my roof which is fine, they are busy, I get it. Mark the owner finally sent out one of his guys, Russell. I told them about 3 problem areas where water was leaking in at the top of my windows from the roof, something I was able to reproduce with my hose. He called me that night and spent 30-40 minutes telling me of multiple problems with my roof. I told him I just wanted those 3 problem spots repaired and that I didn't care about the other problems. He convinced me that if I get all the maintenance done my problem would be solved. had some wasp issues but after that was taken care of he came and ended up doing 2 days work, $8000. Next storm, same exact problem in all 3 spots. I called him and he sent Russell out again. I reproduced the problem in front of Russell with my hose. He said he knew what the problem was and sealed some areas on the roof again. Mark the owner acted like he was doing me a favor coming out and kept saying we won't charge you for this visit, it will be courtesy even though he never fixed the problem I hired him to do. Next storm, again nothing resolved, same problem in all 3 areas. Called him again, didn't respond for 2 weeks. Called him again and this time he called me back and told me he would get someone out to check it out again. Never did, called him again a few weeks later no response and I have not heard from him since. So I basically paid him $8000 for nothing, I still have the same problems. Total rip off. Mark the owner talks a good game but did not fix the problem I hired him for and didn't care that he took my $8000. Very unethical, I don't know how he sleeps at night knowing her took someone's money but didn't fix the problem he was hired to do. They never did their own test to make sure they know what the problem was and never checked to make sure the problem was fixed after all their so called repairs. I have given him several months hoping that he would make things right, but didn't happen. I have now hired another contractor who will start with figuring out exactly what the problem is prior to just charging me for work that is not guaranteed to fix the problem. They did really a good job of their repairs for my entire tile roof. I contacted them for one of the tiles flew away from my roof due to a really bad winter weather. It took a couple of months until they finally sent me an inspector since my roof's problem was minor and they are very popular in south Bay Area. But it was worth to wait. The inspector conducted a thorough inspection on my entire roof and reported me immediately about what he found in detail. I took the chance to repair all the problems on my roof and they finished all the repairs the following day as scheduled. I received a follow up call the same night and was reported what they did in details. I checked the finish on the roof myself too and was pretty satisfied with their professional work. I really cannot judge the work that they have done as it has not rained yet. What I can say is that I hired them based off Tesla Solar stating that my roof needed to be repaired or replaced. I opted to repair and hired American Roofmasters. In my initial conversation, I relayed what Tesla had reported was the problem. American Roofmasters came out and performed the work. I paid them the day the work was performed; they would only take cash or check and did not provide an invoice that day. I waited over a month for the invoice, when it arrived it was very generic and did not provide a listing of the materials used or the cost of the materials to me nor did it provide the number of labor hours and the cost to me. It did not list the details of the work done, it was very general and probably just a template that they fill out with minimal information. When Tesla came back out to reinstall my solar panels, they would not stating that the roof had not been repaired properly. American Roofmasters came out and did further repairs. I had several companies tell me that I was overcharged based on the repair work performed. I think American Roofmasters justifies the cost based on they offer a yearly maintenance inspection. This is not all clearly stated in the invoice and many of the agreements are oral. It comes down to what he said, she said. I have since chosen to have my roof replaced. All I can say is Buyers beware. I will not be doing any further business with American Roofmasters and would not recommend them to anyone. read more

I had the worst experience ever when I contactied this company to set up services. I was lied to by the owner Mark. He did not do what he said he was going to do. He had me give him all my personal information including the age and problem with the roof. I explained everything telling him the roof was somewhere around 15 years old. Then he read from a script for 10 minites about how reliable and "perfect" his company was. He acted strangely on the phone. He told me he would send out his worker to look at the roof and give me a quote right on the spot. He said they would let me know if my roof could me repaired. Then if so they would give me a quote right then on the phone and fix it the same day. He expained that they were a "mobile service". Then after more than a week he called my tenant demanding to know how old the roof was and everythinng about the roof. My tenant said he was very pushy and unprofessional. My tenant explained he did not know and that he should talk to me. Afterward, Mark called me and very rudely told me he was too busy to waste his time to send out anybody to even look at my roof. I was shocked how high-handed and rude he was. I did not like that he had taken so much of my personal information when I first called to set up the service. It was too late for me but others should be warned about this company. When I later looked more carefully at their website I saw more signs of unusual business issues. Buyer beware!!! read more

My elderly mom had a leak in her living room ceiling last year and had her roof repaired in October 2020 by American Roofmasters. They did an excellent job. However, during the recent rain, she noticed the same spot was leaking. I called American Roofmasters and left a message. She and I both received a return call from the owner, Mark, within the hour. A technician was sent within two hours, who determined the leak was not coming from the roof but from a gap between the eaves and stucco. He sealed the section of the gap where the water was coming in. He was very patient with my mom, and was extremely friendly and polite. We received a follow up call from Mark, who told my mom there would be no charge, even though the leak was not coming from the roof. We continue to be impressed with the service, friendliness, and professionalism of everyone at this company. read more

Last year in Oct our older (Late 1970's) 3-unit condo complex in North Redondo (red tile hot-roof) was beginning to develop leaks in all three units. After many years of being maintained by a Redondo Beach (J Witt) roofing company that had been with us since 1984, but had recently gone out of business (retirement), we began to look for a new roofer. We did an EXHAUSTIVE search, and interviewed over a dozen companies, and got proposals from most of them. NOT A SINGLE ONE showed the genuine concern, knowledgeability, professionalism and thoroughness of AMERICAN ROOFMASTERS. Mark and Karen in the office were exemplary, keeping us up to date and fully informed every evening, as things progressed. But it was Eric and his team that really took the First Place Prize. Eric's breadth of knowledge, professionalism, and his "all-seeing eyes" allowed him to point out and document EVERY SINGLE LITTLE DETAIL that was a potential contributing factor to our leakage problems. He was simply AMAZING in catching details that the other 10 companies either missed or weren't even looking for. Eric and his crew did a thorough job on all 3 units in less than a week; and, their bid for our job was very thorough, very competitive, and very fair in our estimation. When local news stations warned of an upcoming storm that would dump a lot of rain in our area, I climbed up into our attic to see if I could find any holes in the roof and sure enough, I found one. My son and I put a temporary patch with super glue into the hole and we hoped for the best. I contacted American Roofmasters because quite honestly, there isn't any other company I've found that just does repairs and not full reroofs. One of the roofing companies I did call to get an estimate for a new roof actually recommended AR for repairs. After the first storm came through, they came out, patched up the hole correctly, replaced missing roof tiles that had blown off, sealed around the roof vents and cleaned out all my gutters around the house. The roof sofar has stayed intact after several more storms pounded through our area including one that dumped 4" of rain in a 2 hour period. After the work was done, I was told that the office was backed up and that it would be up to 2 weeks to get a detailed work invoice detailing all the work they had done. I called 4 weeks later, left a message, but no response. I called two more times after that and finally after 6 weeks, someone called me back, apologized for the paperwork delay and then mailed me the invoice. The work that was done to the roof was excellent and should hold until the summer when I will need to get a new roof put up. The customer service aspect though, with respect to my invoice and unreturned phone calls was less than desirable which is why I can only give them 4 stars and not 5. Overall, I would still recommend this company for roof repairs. read more

Called and left a message asking for roof repair service. Just when I thought I wouldn't hear from them, a friendly lady called me at 7:30 on a Friday night two days later. She promised that someone would follow up the next week. Nobody did. I left three more messages over the next three weeks. No response. Seven weeks after speaking with the friendly lady, I finally received a call from a man at 8:30 on a Friday night who repeatedly lied, saying that he had spoken to me, then changed it to that he had left messages. He blamed their lack of responsiveness on the fact that "they don't get up to [LAX area] much" - not a valid excuse for not returning calls, and then lying about it. When he offered service for the next day, I told him that I wouldn't do business with his company. Perhaps the actual repair services are decent. Perhaps they do good work. I didn't get past the terrible customer service at the start of the process. read more
