He explained that the moisture issue we're seeing on the main floor of our house is common in many of the houses in South Bay that have a similar build style (tall and skinny, flat roof); no attic space plus heat humidity overload, and the house will literally start to sweat on the inside. In our case, he said addressing indoor temperature and humidity issues with an HVAC company should take care of the problem. Any home construction/repair company that openly shares all information with a potential customer--especially when it prevents an immediate sale on the work--automatically earns my trust. The willingness to put a homeowner's best interests above their own shows that they're invested in maintaining their good reputation. Now when the time comes and I do need roofing services, GA Roofing is who I'll be calling.

I obtained three quotes, and even though this was not the lowest quote, I felt it would be the highest quality. The owner, Johnny, was always available when I called. I had numerous questions and all of my questions were answered to my satisfaction, and everything seemed very easy from the deposit to selecting a date. The workers arrived on time, and they were much quieter than I had expected. I wanted an old TV satellite removed from the side of the house, and they did not charge extra for that service. The job site was clean, the workers were friendly, and I could not have asked for more. I highly recommend this company.

Afterwards, Luis promptly sent the estimate document via text message and provided samples. Once we accepted and chose our roofing material, LCG started work when they said they would. Working to their estimate, LCG removed our old roof, replaced damaged plywood, and installed new roofing and skylights. They were careful and professional throughout. In particular, their clean-up each day was exceptional: it was by far the best of the 3 different roofing jobs I've been involved with in the past few years. Inspection reports and invoices were also conveniently sent by text. Luis kept us informed throughout via text and responded quickly to queries. There were no surprises in the final bill. Fortunately, my garage (which was storing much of what I had that wasn't in the house) was the only thing that suffered damage, Unfortunately, most of my mementos were destroyed. I reroofed, and now almost 30 years later, with rumors are that El Nino is making a return visit, I thought (since we had suffered minor leaks during some of the recent rains) it was time to reroof, so I put Yelp to work to find me some people to interview. I picked five for the information I could glean, asking few questions, since I knew opening my mouth connected to a brain that knows little about roofing, would be a bad idea and also seeing if people were helpful with their explanations. Everyone (maybe except one) was personable enough for me to think I could work with them, but much of the information was kinda the same thing (although I noted some improvements in roofing since 97 that were useful to ask each about). The prices were more or less the same, and close enough that I knew I could find a point that would be roughly around the general price for them all, so it wasn't money. It was rapport and ultimately who gave me the greatest sense of trust. And. I learned, information that no one else told me. Roy, with Top Roofing was the ONLY one of the five that I saw who discussed the solar pool heating on my roof with me; each of the people I met with went on the roof. Not one other person mentioned it, and if you have solar panels on the roof - it's a consideration in doing the job. When I called the others who'd come to the house to say I'd made my choice and asked why I picked someone else I told them this - it was determinative that one person told me this was a job that needed to be done in addition to the roofing. He hooked me up with a solar heating company, he'd worked with before and I got on the phone with them and felt reasonably satisfied that between them and Roy it would get done on time, on budget. (It's not a small add-on to have them remove and reinstall the works, so if this affects you, be warned). Roy stayed in touch with me throughout - He came by and we spoke on phone daily. We had agreed that in the cost we he would completely replace and repaint a tongue-and-groove porch which was pretty rotted out) and aside from some permit forms I had to fill out, gave me a date of less than a week every date was kept. His crew was punctual, and so neat - the pool was covered, they cleaned up each of the five days they worked. Roy walked the yard with me before they started so I could make sure my gardener trimmed where he needed to, then walked it again, to tell me where we might need to keep trimming. He touched base with me every day, and when it was over gave me a video of the roof (both the main house and the garage were reroofed), and the porch which looked haggard now looks beautiful. I can't say enough about what a positive experience this was. And it looks really good. And since the last time I put on a roof, the tile now cools down the exterior which is good to have in an LA summer. The roof is up, the solar heating is back in operation. Let's go. A roof is an expensive proposition, and I think it's ok to know little if you hire someone you believe in (and, I'll admit, test out a little bit at the onset), who speaks to you in a way that is helpful and doesn't overwhelm you, but I think this was an incredibly positive experience in terms of labor, cleanliness, schedule and most importantly communication. I also loved hearing that this is a family business--started by his father and now run by three brothers, which really speaks to their pride and integrity in their work. Throughout the entire process, Mike was very professional and the level of expertise he exhibited was obvious. Before Mike, I had met with 3 other contractors to compare services and quotes but what sealed the deal for me was the 3D render service Mike offered. It was affordable and it would be free if you end up going with MDM for your remodel. Mike was able to get the renderings to me very quickly and made adjustments whenever we wanted to change something. Seeing the details of the renderings really brought what we were envisioning to life and helped with the design process. Fast forward to beginning of demo/construction, Mike's employees were impressively fast and efficient at their jobs, but what really impressed me was how clean they kept our property after each day of work. And that stated true throughout the entire process of our 7 month renovation. During construction, if there were any last minute changes, Mike would always try to cater to our needs whenever possible. Even if subcontractors made mistakes with anything, Mike would make sure it is fixed and perfect right away. Keep in mind, you can't rely on Mike for everything (as much as you might want to). You really do have to do your research (in terms of design, finishing materials, sourcing those materials, and getting them delivered on time) and know exactly what you want and how you want it, that way, Mike can plan and put into action what needs to be done. After this entire process, we are extremely happy we got this project completed with MDM. What really sets them apart is the quality of work, dependability, and the great people that work for MDM. Shoutout to Mario! They really respected our home and were very considerate of us during construction. We had quite a few leaks (unfortunately) and many layers of shingles on our roof and needed an excellent roofing company. Lani and Mike from Terrazas did a superb job. The estimate was same day and pricing in par with other roofing companies. Work took a day over the estimated timeframe but that's only because they found some plywoods that needed to be changed out to pass city inspections. We passed all required inspections with flying colors. The roof that was recommended by Mike was a "cool" roof so my summers are going to be a few degrees cooler. That's a win in my book. Pat Chiewchanpanich came over to review the project and offer a quote. He was friendly and knowledgeable . He explained the process thoroughly, answering all of my questions patiently and made sure I understood. He offered to have his team cover all the items in the garage from at falling debris. He directed us to a house that installed the same shingles we were leaning towards. That really helped. The quote was very reasonable. The crew was very nice and professional. They worked hard finishing in only 3 days. The Forman,Danny Corona took special care to protect the rain gutters and recommended the best place to install the attic fan. He knew his stuff. Years later we found out that they did not get the final inspection done by the city. We called…read moreand asked about it a couple times and Rosa asked to call us back but she never did call. Also the replaced roof leaked after the next rain. Don came out and used his business card and put it under the tiles to find the leak and repaired it-again. They also did not properly line a part where the water is supposed to drain off the roof and I had to hire a contractor to do it right. They seemed like nice people but that doesn't overshadow the issues we had with their workmanship.

We supposedly had a new roof, but it leaked like a sieve in last year's atmospheric rivers. Energy was out here a couple of times. They said they had fixed it, but it just kept leaking-- and leaking bad. Performance came out, quickly figured out what the problems were, and fixed them. We finally had our watertight roof.
