I walked in and was greeted by sunny, smiling faces. I'm mad at myself, because I wrote the name of my excellent waitress down, but lost the paper! She was very friendly, and totally on point with the service. She even gave me a helpful hint to go jump in the lake! Ok, it's a tourist spot, where people jump off rocks into the lake. I drove by, but didn't jump in...But I digress. Their Cudighi sausage was incredible. The seasoning makes a unique, and flavorful breakfast sausage that went perfectly with their heaping amount of hash browns, and the two eggs. The pricing was fair, and the coffee was good. However, as good as the food was; the service was better. Waitress had time to serve customers, and talk to me as well. One waitress was just so darn friendly as we discussed the differences of summer between Marquette, and Phoenix. I came here on a Sunday hoping to get brunch. The place didn't look busy enough to not be waited on. I was seated towards the back. I sat on my table for 10 min and no server bothered with me; not even to offer me a glass of water. So I walked away and took my business elsewhere. They have poor customer service!! read more

Wow, thought the line leading into this run down retro looking place meant it was a hole in the wall gem, turns out just rock! Mismatched coffee mugs supposed to be "trendy", might be if they were properly washed along with the faded silver ware. Same goes for some of the staff, whose unkempt appearance did nothing for my appetite. Coffee in the chipped mug was just like the atmosphere tired, and tasteless. Delicious food. My husband brought me here, as he wanted to share one of his favorite breakfast spots. Unfortunately, we ended up with a waitress who sat down when she took our order, came back quite some time later, sat down again like we were family -- only to inform us there was only one order of their homemade cinnamon French toast left... and proceeded to re-write the entire order. She forgot our straws and we had to ask another waiter because we weren't sure where she went. We ended up being there for over an hour for what was quite the small order to begin with. Also, our waitress along with another one couldn't seem to keep their masks on for the life of them. They simply kept slipping off their faces. Disappointed. read more

They serve breakfast until close which is a win! If you get a waitress that has been there for more than two seconds your service will be splendid. The prices are super reasonable and your coffee cup is always full. This is the way a diner should be! read more

Cool little diner style restaurant with great food. They have a good variety of breakfast options.

I went here for breakfast and ordered the sirloin skillet. When my meal came the sirloin in the skillet was sour meat and tiny chunks besides! I waited for my waitress to come over and check on our meals (I placed my plate on the side of the table). She proceeded to sit down and eat. By the time she checked on our meals my companion was almost done with their meal. Still charged us for my coffee. Spoke to the owner and he only had excuses! Service is usually fast and friendly. Breakfast is good and reasonably priced. I only have had breakfast here. I have tried numerous breakfast options. My only complaint is the biscuits. Do not order anything including a biscuit. They are hard, dry, and small. I suspect they are using pre-made frozen biscuits. Too bad. Everything else has been good. read more

First time here. Two waitresses, but we got the slow one. I ordered waffles with a scrambled egg. The eggs were DOA. They weren't scrambled at all, and they were way over-cooked. My wife ordered French toast with bacon, and the bacon never showed up. Coffee was incredibly weak to top it all off. First and last visit. read more

The restaurant is nice and clean and the waitresses was friendly. The food however was mediocre at best. The eggs benny, the eggs were cooked over hard and the sauce was bland. The farmers omelet had raw veggies in it and the sausage gravy I ordered on the side was barely warm and looked like it came from a can. And the wait time for a half busy breakfast place seemed a bit long. Could be a great breakfast place if they found a cook who knew how to cook. read more

Best breakfast in Marquette! Everything I've had is delicious. They frequently run out of chocolate milk which is a bummer for both my niece and I as that's our breakfast drink of choice. The service is okay and sometimes there's a longer wait on food than you'd like but understandably so when it's busy. read more

Better food and service than Jeffery's, also in town. This place had the best shredded hash browns, this day, that I have ever had. The day before, our party had breakfast at Donckers, and I thought those were the best, until I ate here. (Another person in our party thought the hash browns were the other way around, so I guess it is a tie.) Food was fine, portions and taste, for the price. Will come here again during our visits to Marquette/NMU. *edit* Later visit: The has browns were burnt on one side, all uncooked on the other. Best breakfast in town! No question about it! Look for the purple roof that says restaurant across the street from the ramada! Ask for the cinnamon roll French toast or the banana French toast! read more

The Coachlight is the go-to place for some great breakfast. They don't have the best hours (last time I was there, their hours board said they close most days at 2 PM) but when they are open, its pretty easy to get a table with good fast service. The prices and portions are good. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for good simple breakfast. read more

Absolutely dreadful. We were greeted by being told to look at the specials board if we wanted to know what the specials were. After we were sat, two children were running around the restaurant crying. The person who sat us rushed after them and grabbed one up in each arm. Bizarre. Come to find out it's the owner? Anyways, our order was never taken, we never received any drinks, and to top it all off, this was after 20 minutes of having been there. We had to walk out. Quite a bizarre experience. read more

Food is good and prices fair. Service is hit and miss. The restaurant is clean and well maintained with plenty of seating. I normally stop in for breakfast 2-4 time a month. Service recently has been a miss and has been sliding more that direction. I sat at the counter for breakfast and had the same waitress walk by and look at me at least thee times w/o any acknowledgement, saying that your waitress will be here soon, offering water, coffee or even a menu. A second waitress did a walk by then stopped and did everything above. I was w/i 30 seconds of walking out by that time. My waitress came took my order, delivered my order and handed me my bill, meanwhile my coffee cup remained empty. I actually had more interaction with the gentleman bussing then I had with any wait staff. I don't care or need to be doted on, but for this time I was pretty much ignored. The three waitresses did have time to hangout together counting their tips and carrying on with other conversations. Heck the busser that actually gathered up my dishes and I had more of a conversation than I with the wait staff. Food, facility and bang for your buck 4-5 stars, recent and past service trend 1-2 stars. read more

Had lunch on a Saturday. Ordered one of the specials - Prime Rib French Dip. It was excellent. Husband ordered the club sandwich and felt the same. Service was friendly and efficient. We will return for breakfast probably. read more

Definitely a place for post night-out breakfast, but definitely not a place to take friends or family from out of town. Flavor isn't a staple here, and the decor borders on depressing. Still, it serves a purpose and the staff have never been anything buy friendly! read more

We had an unpleasant experience this morning. I do understand it is the 4th of July and they could have been under staffed, but when we arrived they were not that busy. We waited about an hour for our food and our waitress was not attentive. She brought the wrong juice for my wife, never brought me my salsa and sour cream for my skillet meal, and had to be reprimanded by her supervisor to stay on task because our food was actually sitting ready and she was to busy having a conversation with someone instead of working. I have had pleasant experiences here in the past, but unfortunately probably won't be returning if that waitress is still there. Also when did the portion sizes get so small? After a wait in a short, crowded hallway just to be seated, we waited again at our table for service and waited more than an hour to be served. The food was way way over salted and the "southern" biscuits were tasted like flour and were dense instead of fluffy and buttery. Very disappointed. read more

I am giving this place one star strictly due to poor service. I was greeted when I walked in and sat promptly but that's where it all goes down hill. My waitress took my order "steak an eggs" I added 2 eggs and crispy bacon. She didn't write my order down but heck I am one person and I wasn't substituting much of anything. The food came out a little longer than expected with the amount of customers in the place but not enough for it to be a big deal. When the food arrived it didn't have my extra eggs nor did it have my English muffin. She refilled my drink and said oh let me grab your English muffin. Well she went back to the kitchen 3 times before I really started to boil. About 12 minutes passed before I decided to get up and leave. As I am walking to the counter she approaches with my 2 eggs and the English muffin. I said no thanks and asked for my bill. The gal that checked me out asked "how was everything" well I was honest. The service was pretty poor honestly and a third of my order just arrived after I had finished my meal. She said oh sorry why didn't you grab me. Keep in mind I've never walked into this place and only been in this town a month. I said is it really my job to grab someone as the customer? She said well we could've fixed it if you had. Then she told me how much and tried to charge me for the two extra eggs. When I commented again that they came out after I was finished she removed the $2 charge. Idk it may be a bit petty but in towns like this it seems to me good customer service should be a huge priority. Here it didn't see to measure up. Pretty disappointed in my experience. I am the guy that commonly tips the check. But even if I am not shouldn't paying attention to the service end be a priority? For the record. There were 3 waitresses. 15 people spread across 6 tables including 3 at the bar as a group that were chatting up my waitress. Don't know if I'll attempt to come back. read more

Very nice atmosphere, good food, HORRIBLE SERVICE. Had to ask 3 times for more coffee. Never seen my waitress for the entire time after we were served. Other waitresses walked by and never asked AS THEIR hands held a full pot of coffee. Manger, other waitresses were BSing at the counter and not to customers but did look at my table like it was my time to leave now. Not good. I will not be back. Coffee was like water. read more

Typical breakfast place. You walk in and get seated pretty quickly, yet the service is slow. Don't come if you are on a time schedule. The food is okay, it's a good place for breakfast since there is not much else in town. Our server talked to her friend for 20 minutes as we were sitting waiting to order. Terrible. So disappointed we went there. Waited forever, had people sitting around us(possibly the owners) yelling across dining room to other customers, my omlette was so overcooked, it was completely brown. We showed up and were seated quickly. We both ordered a simple platter of eggs and toast. As we waited, the restaurant got busier and busier so we were understanding when the waitress kept coming to our table apologizing for the wait. She only refilled our coffee twice and when she did she only filled the cup halfway. Customers came in 45 minutes after us, got their food, ate it and left before we got our breakfast. The breakfast itself was ok. When the waitress brought out the bill we asked if we could be compensated somehow for having to wait two hours for our meal. The restaurant was basically empty at that point and everyone who came in at the same time as us was long gone. She said she would talk to the owner, came back and said that they would pay for our coffee (which was cold and watered down) and I asked to speak to the owner personally and she would not come to our table. We then got up and went to the register to talk to her and she was rude and uncooperative. She insisted that she would only pay for our coffee and continued to make excuses until we just agreed to pay and left. She tried to blame it on us by asking us if we made the waitress aware that our food was not out yet. I will never be eating there again, any place in Marquette would be a better breakfast than this place. read more
