DO NOT BUY A WHITE PURSE FROM COACH! I was a gifted a white synthetic leather purse for christmas and wore it once with a blue shirt. The blue shirt rubbed off on the white purse and I tried every cleaner under the sun. Leather cleaner, Car seat cleaner, oxyclean, rubbing alcohol, COACH BRAND LEATHER CLEANER and nothing worked. I took it back to this store and the associates were very unprofessional and rude. They started that since it wasn't a manufacturing issue that they couldn't help us at all. No store credit, no money back, no exchange, no warranty. Nothing. Even the manager was insistent on the fact that "this happens to all their white purses." Ridiculous. Why not warn your customers or fix this faulty design? One of the associates shooed us away and insisted that "dawn dish soap will clean it right off." I went home and tried dawn powerwash. Poor customer service. Went to the store today and purchased a bag and wallet. Not one sales associate said hi to me or asked if I needed assistance. I thought maybe they ignore everyone. But I was wrong. They said hi to all the individuals and families who were predominantly a specific color/race; those that looked like them. I walked around and observed for 30 minutes. Never got a hello. Just when I thought they acknowledged me, I realized they were talking to another person/ppl that resembled a specific demographic. All people of color had to approach a sales associate when they had a question. Really sucked. Thought maybe it was Carlsbad thing, but the Kate spade and MK staff were amazing! What is it with the unhappy workers of the Carlsbad coach outlet? Or their unhappiness with me? But the one star I'm forced to leave for them goes to the great inventory they have in the store. We don't have many great things in our Los Angeles stores. Go LA! They have cute crossbody bags, great satchels/shoulder bags, and lovely larger totes. When I walked in the door, I found two bags I liked immediately. One was an adorable crossbody and the other was a really nice satchel. When I couldn't make a decision, a friendly salesperson, named Dee, came to my rescue. I usually wear a crossbody, and the satchel was just so fun that I had to get it. When the bag had a scratch, Dee found me the last available bag from the back! Woohoo! With 65% off, I was even more excited about getting that cute new handbag! This store also had a good selection of wallets on sale here too. Best monogram on a handbag evarr! Whew! Last paycheck before Christmas :o Tis the season. It seems the better time to stop by is on a non-holiday weekday morning. Reading reviews about being here during peak times sounds like the worst Black Friday fiasco where people get trampled. I prefer a more leisurely shopping experience with less royal rumble and mortal combat over limited quantities of discounted merchandise. I walk in and it's fairly crowded with most people browsing the back of the store. A store associate hands me a slip of paper explaining their discount with an added amount for clearance items. Guess what's at the back of the store, Clarence? Viviana walks over and offers to help me. She was very nice and helped to explain the discounts and was quick to help find some gifts. She even has a calculator handy to crunch numbers. I may be a dude that doesn't know much about different purse styles, but as a shopper that hates shopping it's helpful to have some general idea of what you want so you can get out quickly. It's gotta be mildly infuriating for a store employee to get that customer over and over with no idea what they're looking for. Help the employee help you by narrowing down the list. Viviana is able to quickly locate a handbag with matching wallet that should be a neat ladies gift. Thank goodness for this discount and that we're not obsessed shopaholics. One Star (because I have to give a star) based on my visit September 25, 2014. Any other day it would easily be at least a 4 Star visit. I had purchased the signature 'CC' silver charm that came on a silver chain for $78 + 50% off store coupon weeks ago. The second time I had worn it it had left me with a grey line all the way around my neck! Yes, I never wore again. On the above date I had dropped into the store to look at the new merchandise. Browsing around a tall blonde man had asked if I had any questions. I did actually. I asked if he had heard any complaints about the said silver necklace. He said no. I told him I had purchased it and it turned my neck grey. He then said, "Well, it is silver plated." Had I known that 'SILVER' on the packaging meant silver plated, I probably would have passed on the $39 purchase. Ok, problem solved. It was what the man had said after that just bothered me. He went on to say, "At least it was 50% off." I responded, "Really? It doesn't really matter because I won't wear it again." And here's the kicker!! He says, "Well, you can give it to a friend." What makes this Coach outlet store different than the other outlet store locations is the staff. I had about an hour and a half to kill after work before my dinner plans. I dropped in to look for a matching wallet to my silver Madison Sophia satchel. It has the pebbled/speckled type of shimmery silver/champagne leather. I bought the purse about a year ago and have been suffering from buyer's remorse since I did not buy any of the matching accessories. So, ever since then I've been on the hunt for a matching continental-style wallet and/or coin purse. I know my chances are slim since this type of leather isn't around anymore in the flagship stores. I was not very hopeful walking in here this weekend, but for some reason, my prayers were answered. I found a wallet that looked almost EXACTLY THE SAME as my satchel. I remembered that my purse had silver hardware and the shimmery leather, but I could not be 100% positive about if the wallet matched. I showed the picture of my purse (yes, a good shopaholic always has a picture of her faves w/ her at all times) to the manager (?). I was already checking out, since I figured I could always just return the wallet later if it didn't match. Did you know you could return an outlet item at a Coach flagship? That has always been very convenient for me. Anyway- I paid and the manager began to look through their catalog for me and try to see if they matched. Long story short, he was able to tell me that he was pretty sure they would go together since they seem to be the same leather. The wallet came out later than my purse though, so neither of us could be sure. I went home, and VOILA! They are a perfect match! SO HAPPY. I also asked the manager if another one of my purses (Madison Caroline) had any matching wallets/accessories. He was able to locate it in the catalog (which is no easy feat) but couldn't find the exact type of leather of my purse, since I purchased it at a flagship, not factory store. He worked so hard to help me even though it was near the end of the day and they were about to close. I am not used to such attentive service at any outlet stores and I was very happily surprised that this store's staff goes above and beyond for their customers. The manager (wish I got his name) who helped me seemed knowledgeable and more importantly, passionate about his line of work, and about Coach, which I find is rare. ALSO- I almost forgot to mention that the floor staff were very helpful too. You can give them a price point and they can point out bags that would be in your range, and they calculate all the discounts for you (no headache!). Great staff, and pretty good selection when I visited. Much better quality of staff than the San Ysidro location for sure. read more

Eh. I feel like most outlet brands have gotten more expensive and trendy over the years and yet the quality still stays average. Look, I'm fine with paying for slightly-above average quality for an outlet price. Most outlet stuff isn't boutique quality, anyway, but the deals are what make outlet shopping fun and exciting. Yesterday I roll in here because I wanted to get a nice purse to replace the Coach tote I bought back in 2008 (also from the exact same outlet). It had a good run, but I needed a nice looking bag to take to work and this one was really falling apart. Much to my disappointment, most of the bags here are very logoish and small and much too trendy for me to take to work. And it's not just here...I went to Kate Spade, Dooney and Bourke, and Michael Kors, and they all had the same overpriced and garish bags. I finally came back to this store and settled on a Coach bag that wasn't nearly as nice as my old leather Coach tote; it was pretty, don't get me wrong but it lacked all the handy pockets my original Coach bag had. Unfortunately, it wasn't without being hassled by 3 different sales associates. Years ago I could find a decent quality, very understated, and reasonably priced tote bag without anyone badgering me so that I could help them get commission. The bags here have gotten too pricey and trendy, which defeats the purpose of my having to go to the outlet mall to begin with. If I want trendy and pricey, I may as well get a Prada or LV (although they've also taken a nosedive with quality, but I digress). Some of the purses here are still cute and there are deals enjoyed by many people who shop here. And it's comparably way cheaper to buy here than at the regular boutique at the mall. I love the Coach Outlet! I always score great deals here. Most days that I walk in (even when it isn't a holiday weekend), I get a coupon for 50% off. During my most recent visit, the coupon was 50% plus an additional 10%. I also had a 20% off entire purchase coupon mailed to me which I was able to use in conjunction with those deals. If you find something in the clearance section (which is 40% off) then you score even more! The store is big, spacious, and clean. There are always a lot of people working the store with calculators, so you can ask them how much an item will be after all the discounts. If you don't see something on the shelf, just ask someone and they will check the back for you. I definitely recommend that you ask someone if you're looking for a particular item. I was looking at a certain tote and Ashley brought out 2 other versions of it (different fabric/color). I'm glad I asked her because I went with one of the two she brought out. You will likely be asked if you need help multiple times by different people, so there's plenty of friendly staff to help you. I think about 90% of the time I walk out with something. I swear I'm addicted to coach merchandise! They always seem to have great items on the clearance shelves or have great sales when I do come visit. My last purchase was a card holder, green leather. Not the color I would have normally purchased, but I purchased it for $15 plus tax from the clearance shelf. I hate putting my credit cards in my wallet, and this was so much of a better place to store my credit cards that I don't regularly use. Prior to that purchase, I got a tan perforated leather messenger bag, very suitable for work! I needed a new bag and it was perfect product that was on sale at the right time! If I remember accurately, I think I purchased it at about $100 cause there was an additional store wide discount. And the store wide discounts happen regularly! The staff here are great. For those of you who follow my Yelp Reviews, back in October I was in New Orleans and my last night partying on Bourbon Street the strap of my Coach Purse broke while I was at a bar dancing LOL. Since my purse was already a few months old I didn't have the receipt anymore. I remember over a year ago there was damage on my sister's Kate Spade bag and I took it to the store and they sent it to their tailor to have the strap sewn back. When I brought my Coach purse here I honestly thought they would just have it repaired. I was happy when the manager just gave me a brand new purse for replacement! It was better service than I expected. I felt bad because the damage exchange transaction was probably difficult to ring up on the cash register and the employee had a hard time with it but she was very nice and wanted to make sure I left the store happy. My sister n'law convinced my wife to head on over here to check it out. I went with the twins to make sure she did not go "overboard" on spending. Right when you walk in, there is a staff member to greet you. The employee was handing out 30% off flyers to everyone. Of course, that just made my wife more eager to check things out. This outlet had a large assortment to browse through. The shop was pretty clean and well organized as well even amidst all the people. As my wife, sister n'law, and mother n'law browsed, my father n'law, the twins, and myself relaxed on seats next to one of the entrances. Made waiting more tolerable because we weren't out in the heat, and the chairs were comfortable. After about 30 minutes, my wife found a purse from the Clearance section that she really liked. Even better it fit the budget. The purse was originally $198.00, and she ended up spending a total of $57.45 on it out the door. Not a bad deal!! Coach purses are one of my favourite brands but the price can't justify a new purse, unless you can buy them at an outlet store! There are a few Coach outlets I have been to in Canada but this one in Carlsbad seemed better. It was a Sunday and the store was buzzing. The key is if you see a purse you liked but are undecided, hang on to it because someone is right behind you wanting to grab it. I think the thought of someone else buying that last purse makes it even more attractive. I walked the whole store and found a cute gold wristlet that was an extra 50% off. But then I saw a purple leather purse that caught my eye and it was also 50% off. Not only did I find a purse that I really loved the colour but the price was amazing. I bought it for $85 marked down from $328. I could never find such a great deal in Canada and for my new favourite purse! Although the store was buzzing there wasn't much of a line up. It's always nice when you get that coupon for that extra 30% off your purchase, not to mention that a lot of the merchandise is marked with an additional 40% or 50% off. I ordered a gift online for store pick up. There is a spot SPECIFICALLY when you have a store pick up that you fill out with the person who will be picking it up. It also advised VERY specifically that the person you have picking it must pick it up and show the ID. I placed my son's name in the spot as he was picking up the gift for me because I am in the middle of my workday. They gave him SUCH a hassle. He even had the confirmation email showing he was the designated person picking up the item. I had to take a photo of my ID to send to him so he can show proof because they said it was only under the name of the person that paid for it. I had to stop a meeting in the middle of my work day to do the VERY thing I wanted to avoid doing!!!
