Wow! Chris responded to our request quote within 5 minutes (it was 9pm). He quoted us a very affordable and fair amount for our stopped kitchen sink. Being local to El Cajon he mentioned that he could have a tech out tonight. Being a bargain hunter that I am I decided to take a moment to get a couple other quotes. I had a water leak from the upstairs bathroom. Chris called and recommended a water damage cleanup company to come out first. He then showed up later that day to evaluate and provided an estimate. He worked directly with my home insurance claims adjuster as well. When the first repair exposed additional problems he kept me informed the entire time. Chris really pulled through in my time of need. I called after dark about a sewer blockage, and he came after finishing a job, after working all day. He offered me a free quote, advice, and even a little labor. He called a friend of his and they made a quick fix to get me through the night. They did all this without charging me an arm and a leg. Chris is good, and reasonably priced, so he is busy. He was not able to help complete my project for a few days so I had to, regretfully, hire someone else to finish the job. A friend recommended CML Plumbing to fix a leak in the line leading to one of my toilets. Chris responded promptly to my call and was able to send Josh to inspect it the same day. Josh fixed the leak but also informed me that my toilet was cracked, and that that was a safety hazard. I didn't know that, so appreciated the information. Found out a second toilet was cracked, so arranged with CML to replace both. CML installed one toilet, and it works perfectly. Need to wait to install the other, as Josh showed me that there is subfloor damage near the pipe; have to fix that before CML can come out again. CML is terrific! My husband and I were so grateful to Chris the owner and Jimmy. We had a cold water slab leak under our staircase inside the house. This had been our 3rd leak in 37 years so we decided to bite the bullet on expense and once and for all reroute all the remaining water lines to above ground. Their quote was very reasonable. It was a challenging job because none of the manifolds and lines were in logical places. Chris was EXTREMELY methodical in calculating where to cut the drywall as to minimize the damage and cost to repair the drywall and paint. He cuts straight lines and makes it easy for the the repair. They worked in our home for four and a half days and each day they were conscientious, polite and very professional. They treated our home like it was their home. Chris and Jimmy are a great team working together. They are like brothers. We are so happy we went with CML because they did a fantastic job. Our master shower drain needed to be jack hammered out and replaced. Chris came out and quoted us a price for this which was inline with our final price. Josh performed the job and was pleasant. The job took longer than expected because of an error in shipping made by their supplier. Once the product came on they got back to our house the soonest they could. Yet another plumbing problem and involving my bathroom subfloor prompted me to call CML plumbing to come to the rescue. As I said in my previous yelp, I really trust CML; the owner Chris is now part of my "service provider team" and I am a lifer. Chris really goes above and beyond to help his customers. My subfloor problem prompted me to talk to him about a new bathroom I am adding. He gave me excellent advice about the location I was considering, advising me not to do it in that area due to how my plumbing is in the crawl space. This changed my whole remodel idea to a less expensive, and more doable design. On top of all that, when I told him of the subfloor bids for the existing bathroom, for which he was fixing the toilet leak, he referred me to a good contractor he works with to do the demo part of my subfloor at a price significantly less than what I had bids for. I'm going to write a review. Why? Because I'm so tired of contractors coming out to my home after scheduling a time out of my precious days off from work only to have them not even give me a written quote. Maybe it's my airline pilot/engineering background that intimidates them into not wanting to work with me - that stereotypical difficult customer. Fine. Then tell me to find someone else. Chris came out to my house and gave me a verbal quote of around $4000 to upsize my gas line from 3/4 inch to 1 1/4 inch. Chris told me he'd follow up with a written proposal afterwards but nothing came of it. Not even a followup afterwards. We are in contract with another plumbing company, but I figured I would write a review to reflect the annoying lack of followup from companies that have established reputations with Yelp because they pay them more money to be placed at the top of the search list. read more
