I had an outside garden spicket spring a leak on a Sunday at 4:30pm. Water was shooting out and gave Solid Plumbing a call. They had a Plumber on site within a hour. He capped the problem. Then I hit him with another issue I had. A clogged line/sink next to my washer in the garage. It was a tight spot next to my water heater/supply rack. Mario talked a good game, and the job got done. I am not sure I got the best value, but that's partially my fault, in that I was motivated to get an emergency solved ASAP, and so I only got one bid -- from Solid. I would have felt a lot more comfortable if Solid could have provided a line item invoice, so I could see what I was being charged for each task. Mario claimed that they're somehow not allowed to provide that information. There were a few less-than-stellar incidents along the way, causing delays and inconvenience. These seemed to be caused by inadequate attention to detail, perhaps due to Solid being "spread too thin". But the job did finally get done. read more

We had a leaky copper water line in the attic, dripping through ceiling drywall late on a hot Friday afternoon. We contacted Solid Plumbing & Drains through the Yelp website. We appreciated Mario, the owner, quickly responding by phone and that he arrived with his assistant about an hour later. Mario replaced a short length of the leaking water line, charging $658. So far so good. But Mario said and did several things which caused me to no longer trust him. (1) When he gave me the initial price of $750, he said there were actually two leaky fittings (showed me photos) but the next morning I saw he only made one repair; apparently there was really only one leaky joint. (2) His written estimate said he would make solder joints per code, but then he mentioned he would use a "pro press", which I Googled and found out is essentially a crimped connection which is faster and easier for the plumber. When I told him I wanted conventional soldered joints, he resisted and tried to talk me into the pro press. When I insisted on soldered joints, he said he would need a "change order" to charge more money. I pointed out that his written estimate called for solder joints; he said the estimate was AI generated and it should have said pro press. So after a rather lengthy discussion Mario agreed to do the job with soldered joints, and it looks like he did a good job. (3) He told me his work is guaranteed for one year; but his invoice (received by email hours later) had a link to "terms and conditions", which state that his work is only guaranteed for 90 days. (4) When he first described what he had found in the attic (as he quoted me an initial price of $750) he said the leaks had been going on for some time with damage to a wood beam, and that he would refer me to a remediation company. But at the end (after our disagreement on method of repair) I asked him about the possible beam damage, and he acted like he had never said any such thing. read more

Quick response after-hours on a weekend night, came out and assessed the problem with our clogged main drainage line which was causing backups in our bathrooms, toilets, and shower. Snaked the main line but was not able to fix the clog, so Mario and his coworker then did a hydro jet which cleared out the backup and fixed the issue. My insurance company contacted Solid Drain and Plumbing. They responded quickly and sent Erik who did a scope check and made a quick determination that my main sewer line was plugged up due to root invasion. Mario and his staff contacted me and explained what the project would involve and scheduled a start date. They showed up on time and fixed the issue expeditiously. Update : After the rains, the ground area where they trenched to access my sewer line settled and left a gaping hole.
