I scheduled an AC service appointment on July 24 for September 9. About two weeks ago, the AC started having problems, so I contacted Mauzy to see if there was any way to move the appointment up. I never received a return call. I decided to leave the original appointment in place and wait. Then, at 7:36 AM on the morning of the scheduled appointment, I received a text saying they were "inundated with service calls" and were canceling the appointment, asking me to call the office to reschedule. I called. They couldn't transfer me to a supervisor. I called again and reached an AI representative named Diego, who also couldn't transfer me to anyone and simply recorded my complaint. I completely understand that HVAC companies get busy. What I don't understand is canceling a long-scheduled appointment the morning of service--especially for a customer with a service contract--after an earlier request for help had already gone unanswered. The biggest issue isn't that they're busy. It's the complete lack of communication and the inability to speak with an actual person who has the authority to resolve the problem. This is not the level of customer service I would expect from a company when someone is paying for a service contract.

I had tried troubleshooting it myself and initially thought it might be a relatively simple clog, but it became pretty clear that it needed a professional. Iain thoroughly snaked the line and got everything flowing properly again. While he was working, he also pointed out that the plumbing under our kitchen sink had a lot of smaller sections, fittings, and connections that could be simplified to minimize future issues. What I really appreciated was that it never felt like an upsell. He mentioned it simply as something I might want to consider in the future. I was actually the one who asked whether he could just take care of it while he was already there. He even hesitated because he wasn't sure he had all the necessary parts on the truck, but checked and was able to get it done. The new setup under the sink looks dramatically cleaner, simpler, and stronger. Some of the old fittings were pretty finicky, so I'm especially glad I didn't continue trying to tackle it myself. Iain and Steve spent about three hours between clearing the drain, rebuilding the piping, and making sure everything was working correctly.
