Ordered the 3 chicken strips combo. I love that there is a drive thru. It was hot and fresh. It was slightly soggy. I would assume because its in a box and it was very steamy hot. The strips are huge. So I think a 2pc would have been just fine. I got mild. It had a kick to it with a lil hint of sweetness to it.I rate it 3/5 I ordered lemonade. Service 1 star - nothing but gen Z stare is the standard but sometimes it's downright rude, being ignored at the front desk for up to 10 mins before an employee even acknowledges your existence. I only come back because the food is so good. Tonight however, I came back, and actually was met for once with a happy and motivated employee at the counter - she gets a gold star and is the only reason(other than the food ofc)this is a 3, not a 2 star review - and was refused because I was paying cash. Cash is king. I can't believe you would refuse a customer because you "already counted your drawer". I had exact change + tip, and the manager didn't even have the decency to come out and tell me herself. Mind you this was nowhere near closing time, and it wasn't busy. I worked in restaurants and service for 8 years and the service here is just garbage, seemingly from the top down. I don't write negative reviews often. I feel that most negative reviews are due to a one time bad experience or some sort of personal grudge with a particular employee. This is not the case. This is years of being tortured by LOVING the food of an establishment but actively reducing how often you eat there because of how disgusting you are made to feel by the time you walk out. Even the pickles that came with the strips were spicy from contact with hot as cluck, so I appreciated the buttery bread underneath. I like that they have sweet tea. I prefer the crinkle fries over waffle cut, even though they have the same seasoning. My favorite item was the chicken and waffles. For my first time at Clyde's it was a pretty good outing. I loved the wings as they had pretty good heat to the 1931 and a good seasoning blend to it. I thought six was a good amount but I could've pushed it to the 12 amount. It's a small location, but the service was good and the staff seemed to be competent about making suggestions when the customers were indecisive. I just dug the vibe of a small chicken shack that gave you options as to your meals. From best to worst. We used to come here 2 - 3 times per week because our son loves it. NEVER AGAIN. Two visits ago, someone who identified herself as "the manager" screwed up our order. Then ended up charging us for food we did not order. This last time , the same "manager" says, "Our system didn't process your order. Please park in the back and it will be another twenty minutes". I went to the Fullerton location twice and twice i encountered discrimination by the manager. The manager (woman of a short statute, middle aged, short dark hair) I was not told her name is RACIST. I have an accent since i was not born in this country. During my first visit, the manager repeated my order and it was correct. When i approached the window and paid she handed me the wrong order claiming that is what i ordered. When I told her that is not the order she told me I can purchase another order. Clearly, there was no miscommunication since she repeated the order to me perfectly but decided to give me the wrong order. Sadly, I proceeded and paid yet for another purchase. Two week later I came for the second time and I ordered at this place (just a chicken sandwich) After I paid, she told me my order was not entered correctly in the computer therefore is not ready and told me to go park behind the restaurant and wait. I told her i will wait at the window because the person in from of me had no issue with his order yet for some reason now there is an issue with my order (just a sandwich). She became hostile and she started bringing the food orders to the cars parked in line behind me. She started yelling at me and said she is refunding me my money and that she will not serve me. All i did, was waiting for my food that should have been made before the other guest behind me were served. I did not want refund but she processed refund and yelled at me to leave. She appeared aggravated by my accent and was very hostile. The second visit at this restaurant proved that the manager was targeting me because of my accent. As of December 2024 they have lowered their prices. This was one of our faves, but we stopped coming when a sandwich cost $17. It felt absurdly expensive, but we're happy to have it back! The skinny chick is probably our top item. Most people don't make a non breaded hot chicken sandwich. For the sandwich we like the 3rd hottest level. With the bun it evens out the spice. Tenders we opt for second spicy since there's not much to calm it. But if you like a little kick I would def do the 3rd level. Waffle fries are better than the crinkle. Potato salad was good but VERY pickle forward. Their sauces are really good as well! Coke Zero as their SF option which is a bonus since most people only do diet. Their workers are always really friendly. The food comes out quick. Their designated lot is small only a few spots, but behind the restaurant there's a lot more parking that they share with the others. read more
