I am regretting booking this company and now concerned they will damage my items and count it as the "cost of moving" with them give how poorly they handle picking up my thing. I booked my appointment which required 6 people, recommended by them. They sent only 3 people and did not finish the job. I was patient and they reassured me they would adjust the final bill. They also rebooked a follow up to finish the job. I thought great, it will be okay. They screwed that up. Sent only 2 people who said they cannot do the job. I am now stuck waiting on hold and received push back as if this was my fault. AND on top of that I have to cancel my flight AGAIN because they had a screw this up a second time. read more

Do NOT use this company. Over the weekend I unpacked all the boxes that were delivered from Clutter Storage. One of the boxes was damaged awfully. It contained CDs and books. Some liquid was inside the box and stained CDs and books all over. It is hard to remove and I had to dispose of some CDs and all the books. I wonder where and how they stored my boxes. You may be able to buy the CDs, however I would never be able to find the books. Those are priceless for me. I hope they compensate losses for me in some way. read more

NIGHTMARE - STAY AWAY AT LITERALLY ALL COSTS I never write reviews, I have no interest in ruining peoples days or livelihoods but on principle, I must express that Clutter has given the absolute worst experience I have had with ANY business. My move was supposed to be today. 48 hours ahead of the move it was arbitrarily cancelled due to 'a change in operations' and my move was automatically rescheduled to the nearest date NINE DAYS LATER. We are talking about spending thousands of dollars with a company in order to ensure that there are no headaches and instead, it's the biggest headache I have ever had. Entrusting literally all of my worldly possessions to Clutter to have them withheld long past my scheduled date is truly unacceptable if not criminal/immoral. I have been placed into the position where I have to find a place to sleep and work for NINE days on short notice. And I've paid thousands of dollars to be put into this position. My god. Things happen, I understand. But compensate me for my inconvenience. When I asked for compensation I was told I could get a $100 credit. What a JOKE. When I asked if I could hire movers myself to come get my stuff I was not allowed. I was told to keep checking for cancellations every day. So, in essence. All of my worldly possessions are being withheld for 9 days by a company who charges a premium price and then offers me to work manually to check their website every day for cancellations instead of hiring more staff and/or alerting me of cancellations proactively. And offers $100 for what will ultimately be another couple grand worth of lost time and funds to find interim housing. This is a matter of principle. I will do everything in my power to ensure that clutter loses well over my greater than $3000 in business unless my situation is remedied with real solutions. A phone to discuss my claim for a appropriate refund. Oh yeah, you literally only have a chatbot as an immediate customer service option. I will gladly pull this review and refrain from further bashing the clutter brand if I were to receive a phone call with confirmation that I am being taken care of as a customer and human being. I trust that the right thing will be done, thanks so much for your help in advance. read more

From my experience, their workers do not wear masks ( which is forgivable except they tell the clients to wear a mask and they claim their workers do the same), they damaged a couple of my items, blast music while working (when there are other people in the apartment sleeping), and ask for your number so they may text you (just ew). Unprofessional and not worth the increase in their price. They do not notify you of a price increase and will not reduce the size of your storage unit to fit your needs as they claim. They will keep you at a much larger unit even though you do not need it. They don't have a lot of windows for delivery so if you need something in a pinch, you are out of luck, and you cannot go pick up your items. It has to be delivered to you. Also, their customer service is all talk and no action. They say what is necessary to appease you but will not assist, especially with their chat customer service (it's a waste of time). This company has gone down in quality in a very short amount of time. I would highly recommend another storage company. read more

After carefully selecting which moving company fit my needs i ended up hiring Clutter. Got everything i could on such short notice ready for this move and then the day came, Clutter shows up takes pictures of my place and the movers just leave. Customer service calls me to tell me the movers should have told me the following. 1) The path is obstructed. (by 3 sheet rock walls that were moveable by myself or the super.) 2) That my level of packing was not what they expected. (I'm sorry you said you would assist with packing and furniture disassembly?) Is my deffinition of assisting with packing different than yours? why else would you bring boxes and the like? I Informed the movers exactly what they needed to take, and what assistance I needed for the 4 hours I was going to pay them for. Instead they all left and let customer service handle it. Their only saving grace was they did not charge me. Had the workers explained their grievances like **adults** then we wouldn't be having this negative response. So now instead of my agreement i would be out by the 20th I not only have to find a new solution to store my apartment, but also find new movers to do so. And explain to the new landlord why his workers cant do the job he paid them for. Which is literately costing both of us 100s of $ a day. Thanks Clutter for the stress free move! read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I will make it my mission to leave this review on every website I can find to save anyone from experiencing what I have. This company is the absolute worst. I sent everything in my apartment to storage. We requested everything back and to close the account. They kept one of my boxes. I fought with them for 2 months to get it back. There is zero customer service so don't expect to talk to an actual person. We were missing some items, so we assumed they were in the last box. When we finally got the last box back we realized we were still missing a box with some artwork and a record player and a few other valuable items. I know what I sent because I had to take everything out of the apartment for a tenant that was moving in. I paid extra for the insurance. I filed the claim. They flat out denied it and that was it. I have now been emailing back and forth for weeks now. They asked me what the box looked like. I said it was a brown box that looked like the other 24 I sent in. Then they came back and said they searched their warehouse and didn't see a brown box. WHAT?? Surely we are not the only ones who packed everything in brown boxes. They asked me for a picture. So I screenshotted one of my brown boxes straight from their website. I sent it in and they said they had no record of it. I was like really? Because it is literally on your website. Then they said oh yeah upon further review we do have that. So I caught them in a lie and they knew it. I am absolutely furious. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR STUFF. I promise you that you will be sorry. Horrible. Literally the worst service in my life. read more

Final update: they agreed to compensate for some of my destroyed items. We'll see if I see that money, it hasn't processed yet, it's been a few days. Regardless, I would rather have my things. Missing box w/ value over $1000 was not found or compensated for. They are saying there is no proof that the item was in their possession. Ok, well, someone picked it up from my house 8 months ago with the rest of the things that were in their completely careless facilities, so not really sure what happened between then and now. Implied warranty of merchantability - owners, please look it up. Your customers are paying for safe storage of their items, and safe delivery. DISAPPOINTED WITH CLUTTER: If you like surprise rate increases halfway through storage & scheduled move-in dates that mean nothing to the movers, then CLUTTER is for you!! They approved our new move-in date a couple weeks prior to move-in & confirmed everything from storage would be delivered to the NYC apt. TWO (2) days prior to move-in I got a message that they cancelled our appointment! Then Clutter proceeded to put some random date on the portal, not 1 or 2 days later BUT 8 DAYS LATER, as if we had agreed to this new date! Not to mention the fact that we needed to schedule move-ins with our new apartment's super weeks in advance! One of the roommates just flew in from TX, all to sleep on the hardwood floor on their first week back at college I'll spare you the long thread of me begging them to have the move still occur on the day they had promised. Worthless, so I then proceeded to dig through the site for any form of a contact # for Clutter. Finally found 1 number & the woman on the phone was very pleasant, understanding & I honestly felt for her because her supervisor refused to pick up the phone & speak with me him/herself. I couldn't even get the name & number of a Clutter supervisor..that's as far as they allowed me access. I then told her I would get another moving co. which would drive out to their mysterious storage facility and gather our things BUT I was told, "We can not do that". So now, they are withholding our belongings!! Their best suggestion I was advised: take the date given to me and to offer me $100. I kid you not. read more

My items had been stored for years. I loved being able to go online and see that my items were accounted for. Ordering the return delivery was simple via the website. The return prep information helped me get ready. Tracking the delivery driver was a nice touch to narrow the delivery window. And the delivery person was very courteous and efficient. All went very smoothly. Thank you! read more

If I could give less than one star I would. - They take advantage of their customers with hidden fees. It feels like a money grab at every turn. - They market their storage as being 'accessible anytime', but you are not allowed to access your items without paying their movers to do so and you have to book through one of their limited appointment windows. - They will do everything they can to avoid paying for items that they caused damage to, even when you pay for their protection plan. - Their customer service is terrible. -- I booked with Clutter back in May when I was leaving the city for a while. Everything I owned went into their storage unit. The initial appointment was okay. The movers were nice, but the cost was upwards of $1,200 when all was said and done, which was much higher than the initial quote. The real problems started when I needed to remove my items from their storage for my move at the beginning of August. First, when you go to clear your account, they offer you 50% off your storage price indefinitely to stay, which makes you realize how insanely overcharged you've been from the beginning. Then, despite marketing their storage as being 'on demand' and 'accessible anytime', you aren't allowed to access your items on your own. You have to pay their moving service (their insanely expensive moving service) to do it for you with no exceptions. They also have incredibly limited appointment windows for being 'on demand'. At this point, you have no choice but to suck it up and pay the fees, so I did. On the day of, my appointment window was 3 hours. I was running about an hour behind and the movers informed me that their bosses wanted them to leave, despite me having the full 7-10am window set aside for my appointment. To their credit, they were nice and stayed, but when I got to the appointment, they were rushing and asked if it was alright for them to keep the wrappings on my furniture to save time. No one told me if I didn't go through every item individually with them that I would have no argument for damaged items when filing a claim. The movers told me I could go through everything and submit photos online after they had gone, implying there wasn't going to be an issue. Keep in mind, I arrived by 8am, so there was plenty of time for us to have done this if needed. I let them go, but sure enough, one of my items was damaged. I took photos as soon as I unwrapped it and submitted the claim. It's valued at $500, more than covered by the $2,500 protection plan that I paid for. Of course, the claims department denied me and told me that since the movers weren't present, it didn't count. Having to now replace an item that they broke is the cherry on top of a horrid experience. Please do yourself a favor and don't give this company a single penny. read more

Raymond and Kelvin were awesome! I did a bunch of prep and had everything organized within boxes and bags when they arrived. They disassembled furniture and wrapped everything up super carefully. They also boxed up my bags to ensure everything would stay together in storage. Overall great and easy experience! The worst moving company EVER, I work on real estate I'm always helping my clients with their moves and places. I have never experience something like it, for starters they sent a crew of 2 instead of 3 they packed everything wrong no bubble wrap no nothing it cost much more than any other company (same day I had another client moving with the company piece of cake , that job was twice the hours and was cheaper the rate. Everything was ok when got to destination with them) clutter broke every single item almost. TVs, coffe table, dinning table, monitors... you name it! I have never seen such unprofessionalism. And their response is we will get you 2,500 when they broke more than 15,000 dollars in items. And they charged 1900 for pickup to break everything and 1900 for delivery to take hoooooouuuurs to unpack the broken items ...as they pay by hour... This company is a joke, please people never use them!!!!! read more

When I was moving out, the movers destroyed my bookshelves because they weren't equipped with the proper tools to disassemble them. I was on the phone with the customer service call center in India for over an hour on moving day, and no one from local dispatch ever called to assist, even though customer service said they would. When my stuff was returned, the movers had broken my standing desk, couch, entertainment unit, a paper shredder, shelves and a painting. The items total around $4400, yet the "$2500 per item" insurance is actually in the aggregate per person. I have filed a claim and they only reimbursed a fraction of the cost. read more

m updating my previous experience that was good. During the time i used the service, everything was fine but in the middle, they change their pricing and way they charge for it (WITHOUT ANY COMMUNICATION). If I could give them 0 stars I would, worst service ever, they completely damaged my bed, coffee table and art piece and offer me $15 dollars for it when the value came down to more than more than $2k. UPDATE: After leaving a negative review, Michaelangelo from the Trust team called me and made it right. We spoke several times on the phone about my experience, and they were able to help me come to a resolution. That meant a lot to me one day after a tough move, and I applaud their team for working fast to remediate the situation. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've had to move yearly for the last ten years due to military deployments and travel, so I already know how long it takes to move an ALREADY PACKED, 600-sq foot apartment. It does not take SEVEN HOURS. I ended up paying for the equivalent of what it should cost to move overseas and all I was doing was moving some boxes to a storage unit. Zero sense of urgency, and at one point I came by to check in and 30 minutes went by without seeing any movers. Despite the storage unit being only 25 mins away, it took them an hour to get there (that I paid for). This is the first and last time I'm using this company. read more

I cannot recommend Clutter enough to people. I recently de-cluttered my apartment and wanted to open up some closet space in my small city apartment. I looked for many different storage places, and Clutter stood out as one of the best in my area. I packed up most of the items I was sending out, and Clutter worked with me when I had to push my pickup date twice. On the day of pick up, Nicholas, Orel, and Orvin arrived to pick up my items. They came equipped with everything necessary to secure my items for transport safely. They worked so efficiently, moving out 25 boxes in what I can imagine must have been a record time of 30 minutes. I live on the second floor of a building with no elevator. Clutter charges an hourly moving fee, but because they moved everything within 30 minutes, Clutter did not charge me for the full hour, just for the 30 minutes, it took them to pick up my items. I much appreciate their approach of thinking about the customer and working so efficiently in order not to overcharge their customers. Nicholas, Orel, and Orvin were friendly and super professional, and I felt at ease that my items would be secure with them. I HIGHLY recommend Clutter, and if you get lucky to have Nicholas, Orel, and Orvin as your movers, you can feel at ease that they will do a great job! read more

The website is easy to use and makes pick up convenient, but I've used this company twice and both times my furniture returned damaged. The first time I stored quite a lot of things and many of the pieces had small amounts of damage to the legs or the arms, cracks in the wood. The second time I only stored a mattress, wrapped in a mattress protector, but it returned with mattress protector torn and the mattress reeked of urine and mice. I had to throw it out. The process is easy but your stuff is not safe. They would not compensate for damage to the mattress because you can't take a picture of a terrible odor! read more

RUN FROM THIS COMPANY!!! I never write bad reviews as I am a business owner myself, and will always give a company the opportunity to right their wrong. I will be taking action against his company for criminal behavior due to theft from my account. They continued to charge my closed account for over a year after I had already retrieved my belongings and closed my account. Once I discovered the issue, I informed the company that they should not follow policy and try and refund the card that was on file initially, because I was no longer an authorized user on that card. I was a secondary paying my prt to the primary since we were sharing accounts. The person I spoke with said OK at the time. After two months of patiently waiting, they sent the funds anyway to that card. They then wiped their hands of it, and cried policy and directed me to deal with the bank/ CC company to get the funds they shouud have never sent in the first place. They then proclaimed that due to policy, they could not fix the issue and was basically putting the loss in my lap as opposed to acknowledging that taking money from me for over a year apparently in their minds, did not warrant handling the situation according to the circumstances. If I couldn't get the money from the credit card company, and I I am no longer in contact with the ex that left me at a deficit due to their thievery. They basically made it my problem. I have given them three months already being bounced around from one to another without resolution. I am left with no alternative, but to file criminal charges, and to legally make this company find a payment option that will ensure I am made whole. I am not going to stop until this is resolved! Their mistake but my problem. Or was it really a mistake? This may just be how they lace their pockets with charging accounts that were on auto pay well after it is closed...shame on them!!! read more

Absolutely horrible company. DO NOT USE this company. I was a customer through MakeSpace, which then Clutter acquired. I had to store my entire apartment with Clutter for almost three years, of which I paid them $11,000 in storage fees. I received my items back and several things were damaged, I'm estimating a value close to $2,000. Clutter denied 95% of the claims I made and taking no responsibility. The carelessness of how my things were handled, must be happening to others. Entire boxes where glasses, vases, lamps were packed with care, were not just broken but shattered. DO NOT USE read more

As a longtime customer of Clutter, first of Box Butler, and then through two further acquisitions, here are some tips to avoid being overcharged or worse, complete loss of items. 1. Always ask for photos to confirm the items you've asked to be disposed of, and paid fees for, were in fact in their possession. I paid for a 5x5 storage area, identified items to be delivered and items to be disposed of. Miraculously, they found all the items for disposal but only one item to be returned! How can that be? Result: I paid a lot of money to store items I suspect have been lost a long time ago, and then to add insult to injury, paid them to dispose of things I am sure they were unable to find! 2. Always keep copies of any transaction and don't rely on the dash board. They remove information very quickly with no way back! That's infuriating. 3. Best advice: Get your things out of Clutter! read more

Clutter is a really simple and hands free storage that accommodates your packing and storing needs, while remaining accessible and all at really reasonable prices (especially since they pack for you). Packing was free and included with the first month, which was a huge lifesaver for me because many places charge for packing alone. They were prompt, organized, and clean. The online account is easy to manage and track your stored boxes, as well as schedule free delivery of any of your stored boxes with free pick-up again to be re-stored in their warehouse. I requested 7 boxes and all were delivered on time and in perfect condition as packed. They don't do moving services to your new destination, so you would have to find another moving service to pick up from their warehouse to move. read more

Stay away!!! First, their monthly storage charges are high. They only reduce it when you try to leave them and then offer 20% discount! Second, when you want to leave them and get your stuff back then you have to wait since they have no time in their schedule and then stall until next billing cycle to charge you an extra month! Third, very unprofessional- didn't bring basic stuff for move from a doorman building like Masonite so I had to pay the building for it and they refuse to reimburse me! Fourth, they broke multiple items and then make it hard to claim and get money. Fifth, I'm missing items. Bottom line! Stay away if you care about your stuff or your pocket! read more

The purpose of this review is to warn people to not leverage this service and provider. I didn't read enough reviews before using it and I regret it, I hope this helps someone else. Here is my story I used Clutter to store artwork, I'm an artist in the city. At first I had a great experience, the customer service rep that describes the service to you is very good, detailed and make sure you feel good signing up. This is the first stage of the scam. Then they tell you it's very easy to get items delivered back and forth about $100 for NY, the average I've paid in all different locations was $190-$200. At my first big pick up, I noticed that one employee was really good at packing and the other one has not packed anything before and handled things very rough. I had a talk with the experienced person and they repacked it. Then when I had to do another appointment with a large storage, I wasn't there the full appointment to watch over them and I realized at the end at how bad the packing was. They had brought no materials except boxes, no wrapping was used at all. The person was also high. Flustered, I didn't know what to do right at that moment and I called for help. I paid $200 for this appointment. When I filed a complaint I was returned $35. I received no help and just a lie, I was told my items would be repacked properly. After this I didn't trust them and booked a cancellation, which earliest was 2.5 weeks. This required me to pay for storage and delivery $145. I was just looking forward to ending this situation. At the day of delivery, they forgot a box with an artwork I needed bc it was sold. I'm livid, I called for help, there is no help, they tell you to just rebook and file a claim. The customer support for issues is completely outsourced to India. They tell you they cannot help you or override anything. If the items you have are for any decent value or fragile. Please do not use this service, you will totally regret it. read more

Total, intentional, repeated and blatant negligence by Clutter, 25% of our stuff was destroyed. We have been storing our household items with Clutter for several years now. It has been a complete and total disaster. They have completely demolished many items. Destroyed items include marble dining room table, book shelves, multiple flat screen TV's, lamps, pots and pans, glasses, cups and plates. (See photos). These items were collected, packed, transported, stored by, returned and unpacked by Clutter. The first occurrence was last year when they returned a few items that included a bookshelf, that was completely destroyed and some items were lost. Clutter paid a portion to cover damages and made appropriate reparations then. Last week we had Clutter return the balance of our items in storage and we were stunned at the amount of destruction of our property. When the Clutter delivery people showed up, they said that we should expect a lot of damage as excessive damage is typical. They explained that there is no care at the warehouse and all items are stored in one area, not segregated and protected areas. We did not expect that kind of commentary. They were telling us the truth. We were shocked to see a marble table smashed into pieces, 2 flat screen tv's screens shattered and frames broken and bent, a floor lamp reduced to bent broken pieces and boxed goods smashed. These are all items that Clutter personnel packed, transported, stored, returned to us and unpacked. We made contact with Clutter to file a claim. They sent us a link to a replacement table and told us to buy it. They have also denied all claims hiding under their terms that they are not responsible for anything. They did offer us about $600 as a settlement. One of their justifications for the level of their offer was that they overpaid us for the previous claim. That is an insulting joke. I have been attempting to negotiate in good faith, to no avail. We are now going to file reviews, complaints and are in the process of filing a lawsuit. Class action is certainly on the table. We were hoping that Clutter would have acted as a professional company by assuming their responsibilities, however, they are not. Their terms and conditions of storage are not valid given that they have acted with extreme and wanton negligence for the care of third-party personal property while in their care, custody and control. Their advertising is very misleading as they do not handle anything with care. We are not even sure if the warehouse is environmentally controlled as our possessions were freezing when they were returned. For the contents of the boxes to be as cold as they were, they could not have been in a warm environment. At this point, we will be going after costs to replace destroyed property, plus storage fees. We are not willing to pay fees to store demolished and broken items, which they broke. We paid them approx. $16,000 over three years for their services. We understand if a few things were damaged, but not to the extent we have suffered. The way in which they are handling this, indicates intentional neglect. Class action? Certainly would entertain a class action lawsuit if there are others who have been harmed by Clutter. Please send an email to info@classactiondemolishedbyclutter.com Happy to share photos of the damage, photos are available, just send a request to the email to info@classactiondemolishedbyclutter.com read more

has anybody filed a lawsuit or sued clutter? What do we do? This is theft and they must be sued for false advertising. I will if I don't get my items back. The customer service agent tells me they're not in a storage unit but a warehouse and that they're missing. They're not missing because I know where they are. David and Jonathan made our first experience with Clutter a dream! They were prompt, professional, and incredibly helpful on our moving day. They came with boxes, tape, and bubble wrap to support our moving process. Additionally, they helped pack our bookshelf and other miscellaneous items we forgot abouPro tip: pack as much as you can (or have piles ready to go) so that when clutter comes all you have to do is put your items into the boxes. ****Update**** A lot transpired after our excellent pick up experience from Wednesday, May 29th. Our things were promised back to us about 4 days after they were picked up. Not only did Clutter cancel delivery to us the following Sunday AND Monday, but they lost our mattress, damaged our dresser and lamp. On top of that, we had to pay extra money to accommodate ourselves since we had no mattress and most of our items until today Thursday, June 6th! Please only use Clutter if you're prepared for numerous back and forth with their customer service or if you're incredibly desperate. It's not worth the sleepless nights without your things or receiving damaged items upon their delivery. If you unfortunately have to use clutter, make sure you pack enough things to sustain you for at least a week. Better yet, don't use Clutter. read more

Dan & Michael were superstars! There was a minor setback with the truck as the appointment before me cancelled last second. I would recommended this team to anyone! Thank you Dan & Michael for making my move in seamless and stress free! read more

Clutter - Dan & Michael helped my move be stress free!! They were fantastic! - Self Storage Near Me

Amazing work. Very profeetional On time, accurate and friendly Will always use them again read more

I had 2 clutter movers come pick up my stuff a few days ago and so far so good. Very friendly and thorough guys however will say they weren't the quickest as they took 3 hours for what I thought was not a huge amount of stuff. Movers usually have a quickness about them that these didn't have....but I was in no rush so no biggie. They disassembled my bed and I was promised it will be reassembled upon redelivery but now after reading these reviews in depth I'm getting the feeling that won't happen ...so that's concerning:/ Either way, I should be back in about 2 months with comments on redelivery/ damaged or lost items/ reassembly etc. But no significant issues thus far. read more
