The promise of resembling my bedframe was not accomplished. Not only did a pay a high fee to dissemble my bedframe, the onsite workers dissembled my bed to the point of it being unrecognizable when my storage unit had space. Karan a member of Clutter team said the team would reassemble anything they dissemble (if they do not need power tools.) My bedframe did not need power tools. I am a local teacher and I had only so much time and money to relocate my housing. I trusted clutter because they promised they would make that process easier. I have never used a moving company, I trusted clutter as they promised to fulfill the promise of resembling a furniture piece they dissembled. The onsite workers were at my apartment for 35 minutes when I have 2 hours of included service. I was shown texts from their boss saying to not assemble the bed because they need to make their other appointments. This was very dishonest. Now I need to find someone and spend hundreds of dollars to get my bedframe rebuilt. I called to complain and was redirected to an online claim. My claim was denied. I emailed and again and am waiting for a response. I will never recommend clutter. read more

I have had a dispute with Clutter since March 2025. Previous reviews reveal the details. In September 2025, we finally reached a settlement and I signed a "pay to vacate" agreement and gave them my new credit card (new because I had to cancel my credit card three times because they continued to debit unauthorized charges). Once I gave them my new credit card number to pay the agreed upon settlement amount, they start running unauthorized charges again. In addition, they made it so difficult to receive my furniture as a punishment to me, that I have had to block them from running charges through again. This is incredible, and disappointing, that despite the fact I acted in good faith and complied with the terms of our settlement agreement, we are back to square one again. What a complete waste of time. It looks like I will have to hire an attorney and sue to get my furniture from them. I do not say this without justified cause, this is the worse company I have ever dealt with and wished I never hired them to move my furniture. Beware if you are thinking about using them. Appointment scheduling is very confusing. A month ago we scheduled an appointment for next Wed, and just now we find out that Clutter needs to do the move over two days, so it unexpectedly becomes Wed and Thur. Unfortunately Thur does not work for us. So we called customer service and they said a two-day move is typical given the size of the move (a 4 bed room house), but they did not mention anything when I initially book the appointment. Even more confusing is that when we try to reschedule to Tue and Wed, the customer service turned the appointment into Tue and Thur (without our consent) and then said it is irreversible. We call another representative, she said we cannot go back to the original appointment and told us to either go with this or cancel the appointment. We called a third representative, he said he will look into it and we have not hear back since then. So now strangely we are moving on Tue and Thur, and thus we need to book one more night of hotel. Pros: Clutter is excellent at packing and moving. They brought the materials needed for packing and wrapped furniture well. They are friendly and efficient. Cons: I would NOT recommend for long term storage. I had my items stored for 8 months and unfortunately some boxes are lost/damaged and furniture pieces are also damaged. They are claiming everything was returned however things I know I packed are nowhere to be found. They did take time to search lost and found but still claimed everything was returned. I hate leaving bad reviews and i never do this but I felt like i needed to share my experience. I'm so upset because i love the idea of what services they offer and i was excited to use them. However, today my movers were suppose to arrive between 7am-10am. At 6:59am i received a text message that they had to cancel and rescheduled me for four days later. This didn't work for me as I had planned my schedule around moving out that day. I understand things happen and although the last minute cancel was beyond frustrating especially because I booked this over 1 month ago i decided to just book through another company and call to cancel the date they moved me to. Clutter used to be great but now it's just an inconvenience and straight up scam. I first used them in 2019-2020 and they were so good. I stored my stuff again March 2023 before going on an extended roadtrip. Back from the trip and settled into a new place, I thought I could get my stuff out pretty quickly as before but no, they cannot deliver my stuff until almost two weeks later. I cannot even go pick it up myself because somehow self pickup also requires an appointment (which was somehow also booked up) and a whopping $500+ fee. I had to sleep on the floor with no furniture for the time being. That's not even the worst part. In 2019 they broke one of my side tables. I submitted a claim and it was reimbursed immediately. This time, I purchased the $15/month insurance for the entire duration of my storage because I had multiple valuable items stored. So I thought I should be protected in case of damage or theft. When things were finally delivered I found one of my surfboards broken. I submitted a claim, and now the "trust and safety" person kept on asking for proof of photo at the time of damage. At one point, they even said there must be a third person (a clutter staff) present when the damage was found. How am I supposed to provide that when the clutter movers wrapped, picked up, and delivered my stuff??? It took me two days to unpack and check everything, am I supposed to hire a mover to stand there and watch me unpack just to prove that it was actually damaged by clutter? If I am to lie about the claim, wouldn't I claim more expensive items like my iMac??? If you guys just don't want to reimburse people even when they purchased your insurance, just say it. I originally loved the concept of MakeSpace which is now Clutter. However, it has become a Bait and Switch company with outrageous fees and ridiculous high amount of service charges. Stay away from this company. Sadly they treat your belongings very poorly and often come back broken or damaged and you file claims that go into the twilight zone On another note the drivers are the BEST part and the only reputable Part of this company. They insist on dismantling everything and then literally didn't box the leg of an expensive floor lamp in its box. But did take the leg with them when they left... So it was lost and my (now discontinued) lamp was useless. A brand new, expensive desk arrived literally in pieces. AND when I pointed out the damage to the delivery guy he asked me if it wasn't already like that?! But okay, let's even consider that we all take on risk when we let others handle our stuff. That's why we but the insurance right? Yeah they tried to fight to not fully cover my losses in spite of my providing receipts for everything. You have to go through their website. I know this because if you are lucky enough to find their number they only tell you that they can walk you through setting up the delivery. Whatever you do do not use this company. I was with make space before they merged with clutter and was never even aware of the merge until a clutter truck showed up to pick up my items. I was strong armed into signing paperwork or threatened to leave all of my items when it was my last day to move out. They also fail to inform you that removing your items you have to make an appointment, only have an option of Fridays weeks out and the facility is in Fontana and I'm in Los Angeles. They also charge you over $500 for you TO PICK UP YOUR OWN STUFF!! They are not upfront about these fees and practices and hide behind emails instead of dealing with issues head on. If you choose for them to deliver, there is a $469 service charge and then they want to also charge you $80/hr in addition to the "service charge" to deliver your items. At no point and time was I informed about any of the above. Trust me this is not a practical solution. It's way cheaper to have your stuff in an actual storage unit where you can access your items at your own terms. Oh and to have just 5 small to medium size items delivered to you it's over $200.
