Tried out Club Pilates for the first time last week and I'm really glad I did! Michelle was the instructor and not only was she kind and informative, she was also funny--making the class more enjoyable. I live nearby, so was extremely excited when I was able to walk to this studio. Unfortunately, in the nearly two years I have been coming here, the class selection has become far too limited. Until a few weeks ago, the studio had four 6:00am classes, but now they only have one or two- depending upon the week- and one is a suspend class, which offers little work in the reformer. Looks like I'm going to be searching for a new studio that can allow me the flexibility I need to attend classes before work! read more

I've been coming to club Pilates for three months now and I love the culture and community here. Each instructor has a slightly different style so it's been fun to try each of their classes. I've never had two classes that are exactly the same, and it has really helped me to improve my practice. Each instructor has been so kind and friendly, they always answer my questions and offer kind corrections to help improve my form. Club Pilates Redondo Beach and Palos Verdes studios have some of the best instructors in the industry. I've been at several Club Pilates locations during my hundred plus classes I attended, but few match Redondo's vibe. I've been coming to this Club Pilates studio in Redondo Beach since it opened. I was new to Pilates, and I have to say it's one of the best things I have ever done for myself. The classes and instructors are fantastic. I appreciate that they watch you for form and safety, and they are very kind and knowledgeable. I've been challenged beyond what I thought I could do and am continuing my challenge and getting stronger and healthier. I broke both ankles at the same time a few years back and have always had a problem with my balance. This has helped tremendously. Come in and try a class, you will be surprised. As I tell my friends, it's exercising laying down, what's better than that at our age?? (not really, it is a workout, but once you come, you're hooked). read more

If it was just a rating on the instructors it would be 5/5 but the management different story. They make it so easy to sign up and say you can cancel anytime.. when you try and cancel you cant get a hold of anyone! The Torrance location had someone to answer the phone and call me back but they let me know that redondo and torrance are different ownership completely and good luck. Well I copied what it said on the website "cancel anytime" the response when someone finally got back to me was ... yes you can cancel anytime but it has be a 30 day notice otherwise you have to pay the entire month still. that is hilarious. Yes you can cancel anytime on your time but not when it comes to actually canceling and stopping payment that is 30 days. It's sad for these great instructors that they don't have management that supports them. And they know it. Please listen to the other comments that say this exact same thing. Dont think they have changed because they havent. And when they knew I was upset not being able to cancel they said "we wish you the best of luck" hahahaha.. I need it if I want to get a hold of anyone. When calling and calling someone picks up the phone and says to leave an email and someone will get back to you in a little over a week. I asked to speak to the/a manager and they said - cant do that email is best. STAY CLEAR! PLEASE THERE IS ANOTHER CUTE PILATES LOCATION IN THE RIV! I love Club Pilates! This studio is always clean, instructors and friendly and knowledgeable, and I always get an amazing workout!

I needed to get out of my comfort zone and try something different, and Pilates was in my list! I started coming here since April and I have loved it ever since! They have great instructors; all have different styles and techniques which made class interesting because you'd learn something different majority of the time. I'd definitely recommend a Pilates class to anyone who's interested. I just started going to CP when I was able to purchase five classes, rather than a membership. I am happy to say I'm really liking it and now I'm considering a membership! All of the instructors I have had have been very friendly and helpful, I felt welcome from the first class. The studio is very clean and all of the equipment is in great shape. When I first started here, the experience was not good....management, teachers, etc. I am happy to report that has changed!! Tonight I went to a class taught by Katie. It was her first time teaching. What a great experience! Not only was she personable, but she was very knowledgeable. Her cueing was spot on and her encouragement helped everyone in the class feel successful. do not join this or the PV location. they never responded to emails or text messages. I've been with this studio for over a year and I've never experienced so many 6am instructor no shows in the last month. this is unacceptable. do not join this studio, you will be paying for a membership where you will barely attend classes since they have removed classes that fit the working day women and if they do have a class that works with the working day women, the instructor might not show up. read more

I went into this location in a year ago not ever trying Pilates. I only wanted to purchase 4 sessions (a plan they have) and NEVER signed up for a long term commitment-this is how the owner explained it to me. After my 4 session trial I decided it's not for me so I never re-purchased sessions. Well, I've been getting charged monthly!!!! Thank goodness my card has since expired. No help AT ALL from this location after MANY calls and emails. At some point they referred me to "corporate"... no help there. They wanted to charge me hundreds in order to stop the weekly charge attempt. I let them know that I'm never signed up for a subscription but just a trial of 4 sessions! On top of all this, it's not one attempted charge monthly, they roll on 20-30 at a time every other day! I have saved screenshots. Run... run fast away from this place. It's a shame that this place has gotten some bad reviews because it's a really great pilates studio. I've been a member at this location since they opened their doors in February 2023. I was previously frequenting another less convenient CP location. The instructors here are all great! They each have their own style, pace and teaching method, but they are all enthusiastic and really helpful. I get a great workout from every session. There's a good variety of instructors (6-8?), class difficulty levels (1.0, 1.5, 2.0), and types of pilates (reformer, cardio sculpt, control, center+balance). Find what works for you or try them all! Their website and app lists the upcoming schedule (usually a month in advance), and you sign up for your desired session(s) based on your membership type. I can understand other reviewers' comments about having a hard time signing up, especially if their week/day/time availability is limited or their subscription type is restrictive. The classes do fill up (12 slots per session). I've been fortunate as this hasn't been a huge issue for me. I try to sign up when the schedule becomes available, and I have probably gotten into 90% of the sessions I've wanted. If the session is full, there's also a waitlist. You can only sign-up and waitlist yourself for the total number of sessions in your membership per month. There's also a 12-hour cancellation and no show policies ($ fee or loss of a class credit). I think that's fair so as to deter people taking up unused spots that can go to someone on the waitlist who would be able to utilize the session. I agree, it is sometimes difficult to get in touch with management if you do have a question or concern. Their email or phone hasn't always been the most reliable. A lot of their business is automated through the app and website, especially in terms of class schedules. The instructors are pretty helpful at answering some of those questions (if/when they're able) in between the sessions. Aside from the managerial hiccups and the need for strategic class scheduling coordination, Club Pilates in Redondo Beach is really an awesome place. It's a clean and vibrant studio with brand new equipment. It's a great community of fun and energetic people. And you'll get a fantastic and challenging work-out every time. read more

I've been doing pilates for over 23 years and have tried many studios in the area. 5 stars for the location, parking, instructors, and classes. 2 stars for any customer service responsiveness if/when you need to make any account changes. They are super responsive by text/email when you are signing up, but if you need to change anything, you are pretty much ghosted. Which reflects so poorly on such a great place. Cat, Siena, Brittney, Lisa are stellar instructors. Good luck trying to get a class, so many are waitlisted weeks in advance. Instructors are great, management blows! read more

I recently joined Club Pilates Redondo Beach and was genuinely enjoying the classes. I've taken three so far--two at Level 1.5 and one at Level 1--with prior Pilates experience, and felt comfortable modifying/pausing movements when needed as im currently in my first trimester of pregnancy not feeling my greatest and strongest. Unfortunately, during my last class, the instructor made a passive-aggressive comment in front of everyone, saying she "just realized I dared to come to a 1.5 class after only three classes," and that she'd stay near me for a move. After class, she loudly told me to "stick to Level 1" and added she would've "kicked me out" under normal circumstances--all in front of other clients and without speaking to me directly. Feedback is always welcome, but this approach and language were rude, very public, and unprofessional. It's a shame, because I liked the studio, but I no longer feel comfortable returning after that experience. read more

I attended an intro class and signed up. I had heard so many good things about Pilates and was looking for a good workout without going to the gym. I am pleased with how Pilates works out your body, especially how it builds your core. I have had issues with lower back pain and neck pain and Pilates doesn't aggravate the problems, it helps to alleviate them. All the instructors at the Redondo Beach location are wonderful, some more challenging than others. You can choose how much or how little you want to be challenged. I love how the instructors walk around the studio to make sure you are doing the workout correctly to prevent injury. I look forward to working out each week! read more

This place is garbage! I feel for the instructors as they do a good yet the management is a joke. I've called several times to cancel my subscription as I can never get into a decent class as not much availability. I continue to call and place email in writing to cancel, yet I get 3rd party answering service stating they'll get back to me. Nobody has responded. I've gone in person to cancel and I was told to talk with the owner and meet him in person. This is the worst customer experience I've had and clearly management failure. I would recommend another studio to avoid the pitfalls of this poorly ran facility. read more

Just started doing Pilates after a friend recommended I try the intro class at club Pilates. There are different instructors so it may take a minute to find the person whose teaching style you mesh with the most. I've been taking Abby's class and I really like her. She's very supportive and helpful. The studio is clean and has brand new equipment. The grippy socks are a little pricey ($26), but I noticed some reviews complained about the insistence of having grip socks but that is for safety purposes!! In defense of the company, they make it clear via email when you sign up for your first class that you'll need socks with a grip. If you don't bring your own and have to purchase from the studio, that's on you :/ I'm still a newbie, but I'm really enjoying it so far and the staff is kind. read more

This has been a great club for me. Coming from a private studio, I was a bit concerned about joining a club with so many different instructors. It became an advantage for me because It allowed me to have more varied workouts (which your body needs) and I don't get bored. Cat, Sienna and Brittany have become my go to instructors. I've heard management has had some struggles but that has not had any impact on me. The staff is always friendly when I walk in that's about the extent of my experience with management. The studio is clean and the machines all seem to work well. Overall, been a great experience for me. read more

I've been meaning to write an update as they hired a new manager, Morgan, who was absolutely amazing and helped solved my previous issues. A couple months later, I needed to speak with someone about my account again...I emailed them a question (as they STILL do not have a phone number, they share a phone number with the PV location), and without contacting me back, they put a freeze on my account which caused me to lose days that I was able to book classes even though I had paid. They stopped responding to my emails and my account was still frozen when I was trying to book classes. Still, they did not answer my question. It took 6 emails, 1 voicemail, and quite a few text messages to actually get a response. They told me Morgan is no longer with them which is so unfortunate and whoever is responding to emails now is responding anonymously so I don't even know if there's a new manager or who I am speaking with. Again, the INSTRUCTORS ARE AMAZING!!! I love going to the studio and it's such a positive class experience but if you need ANY customer service or need to speak with any one at club pilates about your account, DO NOT GO HERE. It's been like this since the beginning and it's so disappointing for the amount of money you are spending. When you are in the studio, it feels like a community but when you need to discuss anything having to do with your account, it's anonymous corporate nonsense if you can even get a hold of someone...otherwise expect to be ignored. read more

Such a great new Pilates studio. Very clean and 12 reformers so you can almost always get in. The only thing lacking is a lot of great instructors. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE Instructors are sweet but poorly trained and I now have a never before back injury and pain - enough to have to see a doctor. Very hard to even get a seat in a class during the typical person's after work hours and if you did like a specific instructor - they will change it last minute and if you then don't want to then take the class. - you will be charged a cancellation fee. I signed up for what was clearly explained as a 3 month unlimited membership and depsite endless emails, in person visits, written notes - I can't get the membership cancelled without paying more membership dues and lthey won't accept a cancellation request without paying another month then they will accept my cancellation request from that date forward. How desperate are they for business? California law allows for cancellation per a physicians note https://www.dca.ca.gov/publications/legal_guides/w_10.shtml#:~:text=If%20the%20total%20value%20of,days%20to%20cancel%20the%20contract.&text=If%20the%20total%20amount%20of,have%2030%20days%20to%20cancel.&text=And%20if%20the%20total%20amount,days%20to%20cancel%20the%20contract. They take excessively long to respond to emails, don't answer their phones, don't staff their facility with a proper front desk person - it is covered by whatever instructor is there thus - you better catch them in between classes ( close to impossible). Go join an nice independent studio - there is no need to deal with this nonsense and poor business practices of a greedy franchise. So many other options in our city. They are both the same owner. You will be sorry if you sign up for a membership. You will end up paying for an extra month no matter what. They are manipulative and do not own up to the mistakes their management makes. Take your business elsewhere. BE AWARE. I should have read previous reviews about this place. The owner of these 2 establishments will most like respond to my post by stating the contract they have in place regarding membership termination as a defense. They know their business practices are not as honest as they portray. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Doing business with these people is not worth the headache.
