There are so many things to love about this clean and cute studio located in a non-description strip mall. A few little places that need improvement, though. So it's helpful to already have a pretty good knowledge of basic Pilates before you come here. There's almost zero notes given on proper form in any of the classes, I have attended here. When I look around the room, I see many people doing things in many different ways, some of which, as an experienced practitioner, I know are not good alignment and could cause back or knee pain. Second are that could use some rethinking are the wipes. Each student has given wipes to wipe down their equipment at the end of each class. Seems seems like a lot of environmental waste. Other than that, generally, it's a pleasant place to do a not very sweaty not very intense workout on the reformer in a mid sized group. The only one bathroom, but I have never had to wait for it. Plenty of parking spots in the lot. TL/dr: enjoyable studio for group classes, with just a few areas that need improvement

It's a really fun way to start your Saturday morning. She does 30 minutes of fun choreographed boxing and then 30 minutes of barre. I just tried barre sculpt with Janet K and I love her energy and attitude- she's funny, high energy, and really positive vibes that push you through class. I also tried Petra's yo-barre class on Thursdays and loved that as well. She does 30 minutes of barre followed by 30 minutes of deep stretching. I don't stretch enough so I really like her take of the yoga/barre combo. Katie's Monday night barre class is also amazing because she REALLY focuses on core. She is an incredible trainer and is so good at cue-ing your breath connected with your abdominals. Kim's step class on Mondays is SO fun. I was laughing my butt off because I was so uncoordinated. It's not only an excellent physical workout, but it works your brain a lot too. I love that Barreworks has grown and developed into so much more than a barre studio where you can still get barre, but also a lot more.

My experience may be different from someone who is completely new to Pilates. It was instructed to come 15 minutes early before your first class so I did. A class was finishing up but the studio is very clean and for me self explanatory. So I put all my stuff in the cubbies provided, self-checked in on the Ipad, and waited for the class to finish. My first class was with Brittany and she did briefly explain the reformer to me, but I told her I had used a reformer before so I didn't need a thorough explanation. There was another girl in my class who was new so she helped her. The LIT class, which is their entry beginner class, I will say is a pretty good workout. I liked that even in the LIT class Brittany gave you the option if you wanted to do a higher level of weight/work for more of a challenge. The space is very clean, the reformers are in great working shape, and decorated more trendy. I enjoyed the music here (but if you are looking more for an experience where its playing more elevator type music then I would say this studio is not for you). Another thing I like about this studio is the variety of different classes like the cardio-jump board class, straps, classic pilates, etc. I took a jump board class with Allie and it was a great workout! Allie was also super sweet. I'll be back!

Seems like there is a regular core of folks in each class but enough space for new folks to come and in. None of the clique-y vibe of some similar group class studios, either. Ample parking in front free lot, which us good as the room has more than a half dozen reformers plus a cadillac. Group classes combine a bit of floor (when I attended it was mainly a few stretches and prep for the reformers more complex balancing so nearly all of class was on the bed) with reformer. You'll want pilates socks for this studio. They have a smart and tidy method of giving each class attendee a plastic bin to put each person's personal goodies in then return at end of class. Keeps things tidy and clean! Music was a mix of newer pop, country etc. not very loudly played which was nice. Just enough to focus when things got tough. Pilates is like that: seems easy but the workout sneaks up on you in intensity. I found this studio through ClassPass, which was nice as I wouldn't have discovered it in a drive by, tucked away as it is. Mary Kay was delightful and welcoming. TL/dr: low key but strong energy at this local Pilates studio

The workouts themselves are challenging, effective, and something I genuinely enjoyed. After that, I signed up and eventually started attending classes on my own. As someone who was still new to barre, it took a lot of courage to go alone. Unfortunately, during two separate classes with two different instructors, I struggled to keep up. The instructors did help and reposition me, which I appreciated, but I continued to struggle, and in one of the classes, the instructor laughed, which made me feel self-conscious and discouraged as a beginner. While I understand classes can be lighthearted, in that moment it felt uncomfortable rather than supportive. After experiencing something similar again with a different instructor, it became discouraging and made me feel like this might continue happening. What ultimately led me to explore other options wasn't the workout itself, but the feeling of being judged during class. Fitness environments should feel encouraging, especially for people who are new or still building confidence. I did have a positive experience with one instructor who was very helpful, but she primarily taught Define or Empower classes, which felt too advanced for me compared to Classic, since I was still new to barre. Because of these experiences, I decided to try another studio where I felt more comfortable and eventually canceled my membership here.

But what really convinced me that PB was the right place for me is their incredible staff. This isn't your typical gym - this is a community that looks to uplift each and every attendee. The workout itself if challenging, rewarding, and invigorating. You will feel that burn!!!! But in the absolute best way. To give a little bit of perspective, this was just under twice as hard as a club pilates 1.5 class. (I always set my apple watch to a pilates workout and it tracks calories burned based on my heart rate, and a typical 50 minute club pilates class burns anywhere from 110cal-150cal, while a typical 1 hr bar class burns anywhere from 275cal-300cal...and I know these are both strength building classes not cardio but I think the calories burned provides a standard way of comparing how much effort I put into each class) My only slight gripe is that they fill up those classes and it can feel a little crowded in the studio. But overall, a really great workout class if you're looking to tone rather than bulk your muscles and grow stronger! Tiffany, who teaches the Saturday class, is great!
