I purchased an offer they had for $50 and the screen didn't change so I hit process again and this time it acknowledged the payment and my purchase. However my credit card was charged twice after several emails to bar method they refuse to refund the second $50 payment. I've never felt like a business was robbing me until this experience. Their absolute refusal to simply return the $50 has been the most frustrating customer experience of my life. Even though $50 is nothing to me, I can't believe they would treat a customer like this. Great exercise class!! The studio itself is located in a historic building and the high ceilings, exposed brick, and heaps of natural lighting make the space really lovely to work out in. The workout itself if challenging, rewarding, and invigorating. You will feel that burn!!!! But in the absolute best way. To give a little bit of perspective, this was just under twice as hard as a club pilates 1.5 class. (I always set my apple watch to a pilates workout and it tracks calories burned based on my heart rate, and a typical 50 minute club pilates class burns anywhere from 110cal-150cal, while a typical 1 hr bar class burns anywhere from 275cal-300cal...and I know these are both strength building classes not cardio but I think the calories burned provides a standard way of comparing how much effort I put into each class) My only slight gripe is that they fill up those classes and it can feel a little crowded in the studio. But overall, a really great workout class if you're looking to tone rather than bulk your muscles and grow stronger! Tiffany, who teaches the Saturday class, is great! read more

I'm not one to write bad reviews normally but this was absolutely the worst experience in a workout class I've ever had. If I could give zero stars I would. The teacher was nitpicking at EVERY single thing I did, 100% solely judging me. I honestly felt bullied by the end of it, I almost left before the end of the class. The energy in the room was terrible. I played soccer my whole life, worked out with personal trainers, taken yoga, have taken many different work out classes so I don't mind being corrected when I'm doing something wrong however she corrected every single thing I did down to the centimeter and ONLY me, and not in a friendly manner either. It was rude and I will never be back nor would I ever recommend this place to anyone. It was a horrible environment!!! I think her name was Lacey. The bar method workout is effective and individualized. This particular studio is located in a beautiful building, right on the beach. Every single instructor and staff are incredibly friendly, and always take the time to get to know their clients. I've absolutely noticed a huge improvement in my posture and overall well-being since I started doing bar method regularly. These past few weeks have shown me that the Bar method staff are truly up for any obstacle that comes their way! Where do I begin? The Bar Method studio in Hermosa Beach is a very special place. I came back to the studio a year and a half ago after not having been for many years. I was overweight and out of shape, and knew it was what my body needed to get right and tight! Owners (and instructors) Millie and Denae welcomed me back with open arms & extended me the $99 / unlimited monthly deal. After that 1st month, I saw significant changes in my strength, tone and flexibility. I signed up for unlimited monthly membership & take class 5-7 times a week. I'm not exaggerating when I say The Bar Method transformed my post-kid, over 40 year old body. Down well over 30 lbs and many inches. But more importantly, feeling strong and empowered. Classes are challenging & what you give is what you get. This is a METHOD. If you follow proper form & breathing, you will see incredible results. I love the method because it is cardio and strength training without impact. The stretching throughout allows your muscles to lengthen as you work them. The instructors are amazing at guiding you though the method in a gentle, hands on way. They work to correct, never critique, & always give positive feedback. Located in a historic theatre building, the studio space has wonderful high ceilings, exposed brick, & big windows letting in lots of natural light. You feel like you're in SoHo in NYC! Snobby/pretentious, and then some. I took advantage of the new client special over two years ago. I really liked the workouts/etc, but I did remember one instructor that was really snobby and would correct my form with her feet (she's no longer there). I remember enjoying my workouts with Tracy, who is thankfully still there. I've been doing Dailey Method in Sacramento/Roseville area, but I went back to this Bar Method location while I was in the area for a week. For those of you that want a comparison between Dailey and Bar: similar, but not quite the same. Dailey spends more time focused on stretching. Bar does similar stretches but for very short periods of time. Bar's arm workouts are definitely way more intense. Also, more of Bar's workouts are done with a tucked spine as opposed to neutral at Dailey. The workouts are as intense as I remember. However, what really stood out to me was how snobby the studio employees/instructors were. When I arrived, since I'm an unfamiliar face, I told them that I'm a returning client but that I've been doing Dailey in Sac. The person that I talked to immediately said, "Dailey?! Um, well... what do you think about them? I mean, Bar Method instructors train WAY LONGER to become instructors." I know that Dailey might be competition, but that was just plain rude. I then proceeded to take Kathleen's class, and she also corrected my form with her feet, just like that instructor from two years ago! Unless you're correcting the positioning of my feet with yours, it is NOT okay to practically KICK a client. I was doing my crunches and she pushed down my shoulders with her feet. She's also incredibly aggressive -- when she wasn't actually correcting my form with her feet (rare occurrence), she practically yanked my arm with her hand. It's funny how that one lady bragged about how Bar Method instructors get longer training than those at Dailey, yet they don't focus at all on treating their clients with respect. Everyone at my Dailey studio (from my experience) has been friendly, respectful, and gentle. Tracy is the only saving grace of this place (from my experience -- I haven't experienced the other instructors' classes). She's really sweet and really focused on making sure that everyone has the correct form to get the most optimal workout. I'm glad that I got to take a class with her during my trip down! read more

Let my just start out by saying I'm a bar method addict and I attend classes religiously in NYC. I've been thinking about how to write this review for a long time because there is so much wrong with this place I don't know how to put it into words. Let's just start with the owner, Millie, who is off-putting and intense. Even her voice always sounds strained, like she's shouting. From my very first interaction with her I was thrown. I told her I attend bar method NYC and her reaction was that she'd been there, and it must be so hard to not go shopping every time I go! Ok, way to make it about yourself first of all and second, no, it's next to like, the Chanel store so ummm... Yeah it's pretty easy not to go shopping there if you can't afford it. What a narrow world view. I really can't stand their shallow and vapid focus on appearance. Millie, Kathleen and some of the owners always talk in class about how this exercise is going to make you so skinny! Or look so great in those crop tops gals! First of all I find it awkward and condescending to be talked to in such a gendered manner. Second, I'm trying to zen out and focus on my workout, not how I look. Oh and the counting. They never count!!! I'm holding a difficult position, could you count this entire movement please rather than going on and on about the most inane nonsense like crop tops or guys or the beach. Ugh. They never recognize your effort and rely purely on your appearance to judge you. So sad. This place is like a mean girls club where they can seem nice and warm but it is so phony and transparent, I think even a toddler could pick up on it. I did not feel like I could be myself here and the people are not warm or genuine. They honestly don't even know bar method that well. I got corrected at times on stuff that's just plain wrong. For example the side stretch over the bar, you should have your foot slightly out and they would tell me to face it forward. They focus way too much on nitpicking the little stuff, especially if they don't like you, rather than praising your effort or a job well done. Here are some Examples: Bar method NYC: "excellent push-ups (my name)!" Hermosa beach: "your feet should be 1 inch closer together (my name)" (for the record, I'm knock kneed, meaning my feet don't quite touch when my knees are together so that's why my stance might be a little different. I think the worst one might be Whitney though. Avoid her at all costs. She's immature, mean, spiteful and petty. Negative, worst attitude in the whole place. The ONE bright spot in this entire studio is Heather. She is positive, encouraging, fun, energetic and GENUINE - something this studio sorely needs. Overall, I love bar method, but hate the vibe of this place. read more

What an amazing experience for my first ever barre class! Bought a Groupon and honestly had no idea what I was getting myself into, but I couldn't be happier!! The studio was pristine, the energy in the class was positive and upbeat, and I don't think I've ever been more impressed by the true attention that our teacher Denae was giving to each client throughout the class. Her ability to keep everyone pumped, engaged and motivated while kicking our asses and giving individual feedback was just impressive. She clearly knew everyone's name and made it a priority to assure that we were doing the correct postures and modifying when necessary. Considering I'm 7 months pregnant, I can't even begin to tell you how grateful I am for that kind of care. Highly, HIGHLY recommend-- but be prepared to have some wobbly glutes and thighs the next day! Oh, and don't forget to bring closed-toe socks! Wonderful workout, targets all the areas that you are probably conscious about! The teachers are good and make sure you get your money's worth. They have a plethora of times and levels. The studio is clean, the receptionists are sweet, and there are lockers for your things - make sure you wear socks! Only thing that turned me off a bit was my first class - I walked in, said hello to my sister and was mentioning that I had a hard time parking (I mean Hermosa Beach parking is a pain in the arse, ugh) and the teacher grabbed my shoulders and turned me around. I was thinking, hmm normally when I'm paying for a class someone doesn't just grab me and turn me around like I'm in elementary school but ok whatever. So later when my sister and I made eye contact she put her finger up to her lips and said shhh! And I was just giggling. So if you get that teacher (Thursdays @9AM) be quiet! Only downs to this studio are the parking and the parking! Anything in Hermosa is hard to get to and there are new meters that are hard to figure out, takes awhile. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!! If I could offer ZERO stars I would. However, based on the instructor being a pregnant bad ass the one star was earned. Also, partially towards the owner who is very polite and answers emails personally. First off, I'm very active. I love anything and everything that keeps my heart pumping and calorie loss going. I've got several memberships to different gyms, play tons of South Bay City leagues to be social, have fun and keep fit. I don't think Money is ever an issue if you're having a great time and seeing results. Keep in mind, a work out is BEST when you're surrounded by awesome people. If you're going to offer a Groupon/Living Social Deal, then by all means. HONOR IT. I don't care if current members pay $150 for unlimited classes. Bottom-line is my GF's and I all paid $30.00 for an unlimited 2 week membership. We started on Tuesday 8/21/12 as I posted it on my FB, which I should remove because tons of people (men & women) asked me all about it that day. Five of my GF's and I decided to go in on this deal so we could experience it and decide if it's something that we could see ourselves signing up for. That's the reason we do these GROUPON deals. Granted there are certain people that bounce around for these deals and don't care, there are a slight percentage of people that may actually like the place/class that they'll sign up. Not sure what Bar Methods intentions were on this DEAL, but I suggest they NEVER do it again. As I stated earlier my GF and I decided to give it a shot on Tuesday 8/21/12, just over 2 weeks ago. Being able to bike down since it's so close to our residence, it was great. The building, set up, location as well as the facility is spotless. Can't complain about that one bit. However, from the second we walked in there we felt like complete strangers. No warm welcome, it seemed more like the 2 girls and group hovering behind the computer were more occupied with their personal lives than they were with Potential New Members/Groupon People. I can't remember if one of the ladies names was Lindsey, honestly I wanted to forget it right away. I'm normally really good at getting names down everywhere I go so I could leave feedback if I feel it's worth my time. In this case, it's worth everyone's time. So we get checked in with a smirk, cause we're there on a coupon and not actual members. After the not so warm welcome, we stepped into the class. We respected all the rules listed and tried to make the most of the class. The instructor was sweet and kicked our butt. However, the people that are current members NOT SO FRIENDLY either. It's like there's something in the water cooler that everyone drinks. I feel like I need to walk around with my nose in the air like everyone else. Sad. The workout was great, no one in the studio was overly obese but no one was as toned as I thought they'd be either. As we worked out as newbies to Bar Method I was trying to get assistance from the girl next to me...her response: Don't pay attention to me, I'm doing a more advance movement" REALLY?!?! I was speechless but should have expected that type of reply. After the hour class ended we walked over the cramped locker room, grabbed our things and left. No acknowledgement from staff at all, I mean who cares right? We're not actual members anyway?? Poor Customer Service. Let's just say I NEVER returned for the rest of the 2 weeks. My other 3 GF's that have yet to claim their deal. I told them they were better off elsewhere and to kiss their $30.00 good bye. My GF continued to go and attended 2-3 more classes after our ordeal, cause she figured she may as well take advantage of the deal. Good for her. She has a membership to 24 hr but doesn't mind shopping around for the next best work out . She never spoke about how much fun or great the classes were. To make matters worse, we started on Tuesday 8/21/12 and figured our last day to take advantage of the classes was Tuesday 9/4/12. Look at a calendar, it seems pretty self-explanatory. Not to mention the classes were narrowed down this past weekend due to the Labor Day Holiday. I offered her to come to my gym last night to work out and she declined, said she called Bar Method to see if she could go in and they said YES. I called her after my workout last night to ask her how it went. She said, she biked down to claim her last class only to get the same pretentious attitude from the girl behind the computer. This lady told her last day was yesterday Monday 9/3. Clearly, she was WRONG. However, my friend is not one to start any drama and nicely bowed out. With all this said, I will NEVER come back to this location or their PV location for that matter. I don't hate the type of workout, just dislike the people that work at this location. I've taken over 100 Bar Method classes. My regular studio is in WeHo, but I took one at Hermosa with a coworker who lives in the area. The teacher (I believe her name was Erin?) was excellent. There weren't towels available (in fact, most people didn't have them in the studio - do Hermosa folks not sweat?) but everything else was pretty much on-par to what I was used to... which is a great, efficient workout. The whininess of a couple of the other reviews of this studio gave me a good laugh. Criticizing the studio for enforcing their publicly-stated policy of not allowing late arrivals? How, exactly, is it the studio's fault that you were late? They don't allow you to miss the warmup, and believe it or not, it's for your own good. And as for the person expecting the red-carpet style adulation from all staff and fellow classmates... good lord. P.S. For the record, we don't all wear Lululemon. read more

I absolutely love the Bar Method! I just finished a one month unlimited through Bloomspot for this studio. Before coming to the Bar Method I did Pure Barre for almost 2 years. As I did with Pure Barre I went about 3 or 4 times a week and incorporated 1-2 days of cardio (spin or running). For me my body needs some cardio thrown in, but nothing has created toned, lean muscles like Bar. I feel that the bar method is far more challenging than pure barre and focuses more on your form and flexibility. Because there is so much of a focus on your form, you end up getting a better workout, which to me is always a plus because then you are getting your money's worth. The Ab series at Bar Method are also killer! Especially flat back and round back. I've definitely noticed that change in my abs. The instructors really take the time to call you out by name to correct your form or walk around the class and get you into the right position. The classes are quite expensive but it is definitely worth it! I work for a non-profit so I have to budget to afford to come, but you can't put a price on your health and longevity! All the instructors are extremely nice and the receptionist always remembered my name :) I even love the fact that the owner, Millie, teaches some classes. It shows that she is truly invested in the exercise and enjoys bringing this wonderful workout to her students. As other reviewers have mentioned the only downside about this location is the parking. However, I tended to go in the early 6 AM classes where Parking wasn't enforced and it wasn't a big deal for me. I'll definitely be returning and will most likely sign up for the unlimited month that can be as low as $150 if you do a reoccurring package! If you go 3 to 4 times a week it makes the most sense. The following review sounds like an info-mercial., I know, but I am seriously in love with the Bar Method and I want to share the love!!! Bar Method is the best. There is no better workout. My entire life I have had stomach flab. I have done endless cardio, weights, yoga, which all got me into good shape, but did not SHAPE my body. The Bar Method has given me, for the first time in my 31 years, a sculpted stomach, back, arms, thighs, and calves. My friend was even walking behind me up the stairs the other day and was like: "damn! how did you get calves like that?" It gets better: this class never gets easy! There is always a new challenge, a deeper way to make it harder and to have more impact. It is unbelievable the change I have seen in just one month (three times a week). Plus, the studio is beautiful with large picture windows over-looking downtown Hermosa Beach. Everyone who works there is so nice. The instructors make an effort to learn everyone's name and they honestly do remember. It is expensive, but they have a new member trial offer: $100 unlimited classes for a month -- that is what hooked me. I am willing to pay what I pay now because the results are there, the atmosphere is friendly, and the exercise is challenging. I think if you did Bar Method 3-4 times a week and just power-walked or ran three times a week you could have your perfect body! The only drawback is the parking, especially in the summer. For the most part, there is only paid parking (meters and lots), but if you get there a little early and don't mind walking a couple of blocks, you can find street parking (it is limited to an hour or two though). read more

OH Bar... Why O why did I listen to my gfs.... cause now I'm addicted! First of all, I may be biased cause I HATE the gym.. boring ol ellipticals, even more boring treadmills... So Ive been trying outside of the box work outs to make keeping in shape fun! And then my gf turned me on to Bar Method. At first glance, $100 bux? Just for the intro package? You have to be kidding me! I have three days more, and I keep trying to justify dropping the extra dough for more classes! Why 4 stars? This place is NOT cheap... But why it deserves 5? I have never felt my thighs burn so bad, I have never seen results so fast, and I feel amazing about my body. Its true! That's why people throw down the dinero just for more opportunities to feel the burn and see the fat melt.. (if only my ex could see me now! muahahaha!) and the ambiance is so amazing. A block away from the ocean, sunlight fills the work out room.. so nice! And working out with the bar makes me feel like a ballerina! If you want results FAST, this is your class! Yes, you will be gritting your teeth and cursing under your breath the whole way through, but let's face it, who has hours to spend being leisurely at the gym? All you need is 1 hour, 3 times a week (more if your schedule allows), and you won't believe how strong you feel. The teachers are motivating and paying attention to your form, making sure that you maximize your time with them, pushing your limits each time you go. The only downside to this location is the parking. It's Hermosa, and right by the beach - you know how that goes. There's nothing like sprinting back to your car after the 9am class to try and beat the cops ready to hand out tickets at 10. It's enough that I can't see myself keeping up an unlimited package after my first month is done, addicting as it is. read more

Not only was it my first class at this location but also my first time at Bar Method. I was initially nervous not knowing how the class was going to be like especially since a class like this is focused heavily on form and technique but decided to try it out anyways (thanks to ClassPass)! I parked at the nearby structure which I recommend because street parking around this popular area of Hermosa is usually a nightmare. The studio is located on the second floor. As soon as I got there, I walked into a cutely decorated and inviting room. The check-in was fairly easy - just had to fill out one form (whole process took no more than 5 min tops). There are cubbies there for you to keep your personal belongings. Don't forget your socks - they're required! When I walked into the room I didn't know what was considered the front/back because the instructor could stand on either side. Luckily, for me I guess I picked a place in the front (I would do something like that). The instructor, Miliana was very welcoming, sweet and most importantly, patient. As I mentioned before, Bar Method does focus a lot on form and technique so Miliana made sure to keep an eye on me since she knew I was new and kept fixing my form - which I truly appreciated because the form does make a world of a difference. The workout was KILLER but definitely in a good way. I will for sure be back! read more

I love this place! The staff is friendly, and the instructors are terrific! I was in a work out rut for the longest time and finally decided to check this place out. I DID have to go a couple of times to get the hang of the teaching and work out style, (I'm normally a Crossfit, "it's not a good work out unless you puke" or HIIT training kinda gal) but after a few classes I was hooked. It's a completely different work out style than I'm used to. The core strength I have gained is amazing. I love being active, but no matter what I did, my core never seemed to be strong enough, because my back would always hurt after a long walk, run or even in the mornings right when I would wake up. Of course I thought it was a million other things that would cause my back to hurt, but since I've been going to Bar Method, I've not experienced any of that back pain. I love this place. This is my second time with this studio. I left when I moved away from the area and joined again when I moved back recently. When I was doing Bar 2 - 4 times a week and incorporating 1 - 2 days a week, I was in the best shape of my life. Looking forward to whipping this mushy bod back into fighting form! I started taking these classes after having my 2nd child and it was absolutely perfect. I was suffering from pelvic symphysis disfunction and Bar Method was the ONLY workout that worked for my postpartum body. Its a low impact, full body workout in every class. How could I not love that? The Express class worked with my schedule, I could hop over on my lunch breaks, get a quick sweat in for 45 minutes and then head back to work without missing a beat. All the instructors are so inspiring and really push you to be your best self during practice, which then carries into everyday life outside of my practice. I have also really been enjoying the goal setting challenges that we have been having, keeps me interested and wanting that SHAKE daily. I definitely recommend everyone trying a class at least once. I can't say enough great things about the Hermosa Bar Method staff, teachers and classes. When I first started, I was very worried because I was so out of shape and had recently gained weight due to an injury. I was determined to find something to motive me again, and this is just the place. They are very encouraging and helpful during class, and it is such a nice place to come when I've had a stressful day. Light, bright, clean studio. I've been doing Bar for most of five years now and used a Groupon a little far from home to save money. Although highly effective, Bar Method is pricey. I admit that after some negative reviews about snobbery and corrections with one instructor's foot, I tried a different instructor. Tracy was positive, polite, and professional. I Love Bar Method!! A couple of my friends brought me and I was hooked! The Studio is so clean and in a great fun location, a place you want to go and workout. The instructors are so sweet and really kick your bum into shape. They are also really good about helping you get into the right pose to make sure your doing the exercise correctly. I really liked Pilates but felt like it was missing something. Bar Method is the perfect combo of strengthening and stretching. You can really feel it changing your body. Bar Method is hands down, the best total-body work out I've ever had! I've been taking classes here for 2 1/2 months and have been coming at least 3 times per week. I've tried so many other workouts -- yoga, Pilates, spinning, boot camps -- and Bar Method is by far the most challenging, the most fun, and gives the best results! The studio is impeccably clean and beautiful, it feels like going to a spa! It's so great that I've been driving all the way from Long Beach to get here, and know several others who are doing the same. For the past 5 years I've been in and out of physical therapy with lower back pain. I am so happy to say that since I've started Bar Method I have not had any back pain! The entire class is low impact and there is no stress on my spine. I feel stronger with each class, and my body already looks leaner. Bar Method is appropriate for any fitness level. The instructors will show you how to modify each exercise to make it more or less challenging. They pay close attention to the entire class to ensure that everyone is in the correct form...not only to maximize the effectiveness of each exercise, but also to ensure that no one gets hurt. I spent a month at this studio, and if it weren't for the fact that I moved quite far away from Hermosa, I would have definitely bought a monthly pass at this place and made it my regular routine. I wanted to gain strength and to tone my arms and legs, and within 2 weeks, I could definitely feel and see the results! All the instructors here are super motivating. There have been multiple times where i wanted to let go of a pose, but they would be so motivating that I'd keep going with the routine, and at the end of the hour, I'd always feel so accomplished. The studio floor is carpet. At first, I thought it would be a bad idea, but it was actually always very clean and helped with the workout because your feet wouldn't slip (some other studios I've been to are hardwood floor). The instructors play awesome music, and within a week, they know you're name and always provide individual attention to correct your form. The owner of the studio, Millie, teaches some classes as well. I definitely recommend taking a class with her! Although the studio is located in Hermosa, there's a parking structure right next to the studio, which makes it very convenient. read more

I had my first class at the bar method today, and it was fantastic. I am a beginner, and let me tell you this work out is tough! I had to sit on my shower floor to shave my legs afterwards! I read some reviews complaining about how the instructors call you by name to make adjustments, and how they may touch you....I don't understand why this offends people. If you've ever taken a ballet class you know this is par for the course. The movements are so small that proper form is essential to isolating the muscle. Also, the instructor pretty much calls on everyone, and no one else really cares or is paying attention to the other people in the room, so relax. If being touched is something you don't like tell your instructor beforehand or hey don't take a technical class. I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist. As someone who has done yoga, runs several time a week, and hits the weight room regularly, I thought the Bar Method was going to be sort of easy - that any fitness class dominated by a bunch of thin beautiful women could not possibly be that tough. Now I know better. After my first class, I was never going to look at a 3-pound weight the same way again. It doesn't matter how fit you think you are - the first time after you've done those multiple 25-rep sets, your arms will be sore. We were kept constantly in motion or holding our legs or arms in posture, always working on just a few more repetitions. Thankfully, my instructor was highly enthusiastic (and supportive), and kept the atmosphere of the class intense but upbeat (the great music selection doesn't hurt either). Having a lot of flexibility will definitely help, but isn't mandatory. As long as you're working at the edge of your body's limits, you will get something out of this class. The program is great for strengthening and toning your lower body, which obviously appeals to female students, but even for guys it has some great benefits - especially if you're into sports that demand balance and stability such as basketball. The studio is clean, spacious, and bright with natural lighting. Definitely a good vibe. Even though it's located near the always-busy Hermosa pier, parking isn't an issue - there is a large parking structure right next door. The Bar Method is definitely a great addition to the South Bay fitness community! read more

First time barre class student and I had such an amazing time at Bar Method Hermosa Beach. Jenna M was our instructor and she was so great! She had Amazing energy and made my first barre class ever feel like such a success for me because she made me feel comfortable and have fun. Highly recommend her class! I found Bar Method while in search of a new workout program to include in my weekly rotation of routines. After the first class, I was hooked. The instructors are what make the classes so worth it. These ladies are hands-on, watchful of form and truly care about class participants getting the most out of the moves. I have increased flexibility, strength and stamina. Bar Method mentally toughens you as well. It is totally one of the best parts of my day. Bar for life! read more

I have been going to classed here at SELF Fitness for a few weeks now and I am so impressed with the experience I have had! Great variety in the workouts, I have a tough night schedule so I appreciate the flexibility available and Tiffany always has wonderful energy and encouragement !!! They help when you're not doing the exercise right to get you quickly into good form to get the best out of it. The studio is bright and clean and has a great energy to it. I am not one to write reviews, let alone a bad one. However, I couldn't with my experience and wish I knew from another fellow reviewer. Please clients beware before purchasing classes. Their newsletter offers can be misleading. They are quick take your money, but won't care to help you at all. The owner stated they have 2-week refund policy and this is nowhere stated on their site nor did I sign an agreement. The owner, Miliana Katic was so unkind towards me. I received a birthday message reminder and it reminded me check a refund from a long time ago. The refund was never processed, so I followed up. Miliana told me if I never received a call back that can only mean I did not call and no notes in my profile. I did call and thought the refund was processed, which why I never came back. Miliana also said she had better things to do than go in circles about my refund. I asked for her last name and headquarters number and she told me that I could look it up myself. For the HQ number said she didn't have a computer in front of her to look it up. It doesn't take much to help your clients and most businesses do, this is not one of them. All I was asking for partial refund for an unexpected charge on my account and remaining classes I did not attend. Sad to be treated so poorly when the business is rooting for women's health and wellness. Think twice before going here because they won't make you feel taken care of. read more

I've found my great love. My real love. My ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can't-live-without-each-other love. This love is so great that I am willing to drive through the pouring rain, battle the painstaking LA traffic, save every dollar, and even give up meat! Bar method is not only a workout, it is a lifestyle. I neglect the boy and my friends for dinners/happy hours and wake up at the ungodly hour of 7am every weekend morning just so that I can put my body through such therapeutic pain. I cannot say enough good things about this exercise regimen combining yoga, pilates, ballet, and isometric movements. It sculpts your entire body into the epitome of a woman's body - that of a lean, long ballerina. This ultimate graceful body comes at a price though. The classes are quite pricey at $200/mo for unlimited sessions or approximately $20/session. To add to this madness, everyone who takes the class is hot and decked out in Lululemon head to toe that I want to go out and blow a month's worth of Bar on a single outfit. Of course, the workouts are extremely difficult and make me want to cry out in anguish every time. Not to mention, the locations of Bar Method are usually in hip, trendy areas which makes parking rather difficult and often cost money. You say I'm crazy? I got your crazy, but even the boy admits that I'm starting to shape the perfect bar body. read more

Make sure you look up as you walk down Hermosa Avenue and you will see the big beautiful windows of Bar Method. Those windows are just one, small thing that make it one of the best places to work out in all the South Bay. The energy is amazing. The instructors are incredibly well trained and know how to get you moving and shaking whether you have been going to Bar Method for months (or years) or if it is your first class. The workout is great and so is the sense of community. The studio is spotless and parking is easy! read more
