This studio gets 5 stars! As a dancer and Pilates/yoga enthusiast, I've been to most Pilates studios in the South Bay. This is one of the best studios around! My first class was their Pilates Reformers Class with Tracy Coe. The first thing I noticed was the space- small, clean, lots of natural light, a tower reformer, and several reformer carriages. Upon meeting Tracy she asked me if I had any surgeries, injuries or other issues. I appreciated her concern and shared with her some of the back issues that I've struggled with my whole life. Throughout class she gave me specific corrections and modifications that helped me get the most out of the class. She was incredibly knowledgable and dedicated to her students. Tracy has been wonderful to work with, specifically related to both nutritional coaching and Pilates sessions. Tracy is honest, but kind in how she speaks directly about ways that I have been unknowingly harming my body and even small changes I can make to improve my health, body strength, and overall well being. Wow, where do I begin? I met Tracy about 8 years ago when I answered a job post for a Pilates studio manager. At that time, my life seemed just fine and I fit in comfortably at her studio where she taught Pilates and tons of wellness practices. I know that she actively pursued and then shared a wealth of information that my summing it up as "wellness practices" is really a disservice. But as I said, my life was "fine" at that time. Time passed and eventually I moved on professionally, with fond memories of having worked there. Fast forward 6 years or so and the weight of middle age, being a stay-at-home mom, homeschooler and special needs mom with a strained marriage, all came crashing down on me! It felt like one day I woke up and was beat up, drained, tired and felt like overall crap. I'd previously had an active life of powerlifting and playing tennis. At this point I couldn't do anything without needing 10 days of rest in between. I was hurt and dragging physically, emotionally and psychologically. A dear friend suggested that at minimum I was low on B vitamins. She suggested I go to a pharmacy and grab a bottle of B vitamins. I remembered enough from my time with Tracy to know that all supplements are not created equal. So instead of shooting in the dark, I reached out to my old friend. It's super important to note here that on my journey to wellness I've learned that healing comes in layers. During that dark season of my life, I dug hard into my spiritual life and inquired of Jesus daily. It's by His grace and mercy that I found Tracy years ago and it's Him who brought her back to my memory. By the time I landed at her doorstep about 6 or so months ago, I'd already walked crucial steps into the spiritual part of my healing. That journey is not done but Tracy met me for the remaining physical aspects. She took me through a number of tests and reviewed my recent blood work. Functionally, I was struggling. So she recommended a major diet change and some supportive supplements from a reputable source. I trusted her and followed her advice. She is raw and honest and wants what I want - HEALTH in ALL ways. That's why it was important for me to include the spiritual and emotional aspects of healing. Tracy will not suggest a supplement for you if she discerns the root of part of your healing is emotional. She is honest and not making a money grab. This means you can trust her. Healing is layered like an onion. If you're fortunate enough to find Tracy, stay the course. Take her suggestions and walk forward in health. A week into taking the supplements, I felt like a new woman. When I made the diet adjustment, my sleep regulated and I can now work out like I used to! Probably better, to be honest. God knew what He was doing when He introduced me to Tracy all those years ago. And whatever brought you to her or to this review is intentional as well. I have suffered through severe back and hip pain limiting my mobility and activities for over a year. Pain medications, injections and nerve ablation-nothing worked significantly. She was able to create a custom program with nutritional suggestions, superfoods, and supplements specifically designed to support my body's individual needs. How is it possible no one has written a review here yet? Body and Mind Coe-dynamics is a local gem that I am weary to share for fear of future over-crowding. Quiet (except for the squeals of laughter from fellow students) and comfortable, this studio is tucked away off Sepulveda Blvd in a small office development. Parking, consequently, is excellent and with just enough elevation to see the ocean from the entanglement of cords and handles on your reformer equipment, you'll enjoy every minute of your class time. Class sizes are very small and the instructors are both entertaining and extremely knowledgeable. I've been to lots of gyms and studios in my life, and CoeDynamics provided a great first visit for me. I came across their TRX/Pilates class and figured I would give it a try. I booked my class online and they sent me a waiver to complete ahead of time - I LOVE studios that send that ahead of time so that I'm not rushing before my class begins. They even made sure to send directions since Google Maps and most car navigation systems will not take you to the correct place. Upon my early arrival, there was a small class going on in the small studio. I just hung out outside since it was a tiny little studio. When the class started, the instructor Susie was super energetic and ready to get us sore! I loved that there were only two of us in her class because it allowed her to get really personal with us and help us focus on the right things. Susie really helped me focus on my form and was constantly encouraging me to keep going, even when I wanted to stop. Overall, the studio's staff was extremely personable and knowledgeable. The people in the class were also very friendly which can be rare in Manhattan Beach. I am a Pilates newbie who experimented with a few differing studios before finding this fantastic gem! I took advantage of their Groupon for 10 reformer classes. I also purchased a series of three private sessions and took the private sessions before taking the classes (which I highly recommend doing). My instructor Brittany (who I had my three private sessions with and have had for all of my classes) is incredible! She is warm, upbeat, knowledgable, patient, and individualizes her instruction. I have continued on with my reformer classes post-Groupon, because: the studio's classes are reasonably priced, the reformer class scheduling options work for me, I like the small class sizes, I found a fantastic instructor in Brittany, and the studio's customer service is exemplary! read more

When I was a kid, I suffered an injury that left me with two compressed disks in my lower spine, resulting in a lifetime of back pain and hundreds of hours spent in chiropractic and physical therapy offices. This past year I worked with Pilates teacher and nutrition consultant Tracy Coe of CoeDynamics, who showed me how to relieve the pain by engaging my core, strengthening the surrounding spinal muscles, and using proper posture in my everyday activities. Tracy worked extensively with me to teach me proper form and unlearn years of improper techniques - such as such as gripping my glutes and hip flexors when doing a crunch - that were counter-productive to the healing of my lower back (and actually inadvertently making the pain worse). Since Tracy taught me to keep my spine neutral during crunches, my abdominal muscles have gotten much stronger and my back pain has lessened considerably. I started pilates with Tracy primarily to help with a pinched nerve causing neck and shoulder pain. I had consistent pain for over one year. After less than one year with Tracy, the pain is gone. I've been a member of CoeDynamics for several years and as a 50+ man, it's been a life-changing experience. First off, from a vanity perspective, I've got ridges on the stomach I never had as a twentysomething. Secondly, as a golfer, my core is so strong, I can play two rounds of golf in a day while my friends are wilting during the first round. I've been going to Tracy's classes for over a year, and I chose her class initially because she was offering a class through Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation classes. But boy, have I stayed on! This last summer I had a knee injury in Paris and thought I might need some sort of surgery. When I got back home, just one class helped my knee feel better, and now I can do everything I did before. Tracy is knowledgeable, kind, attentive, and lots of fun as a teacher. She watches very carefully to make sure you're doing Pilates the right way and getting the most out of it. I really like their TRX/Reformer combo class. It makes it less boring to do two different types of workouts in the 50 minutes.

My wife and I started Pilates 5 months ago at Coe-Dynamics. I have had an ongoing knee problem that has prevented me from running over six years. The Pilates classes have strenghted my core and caused me to be aware of my balance. Through the prinicals taught, I have been able to correct my running form and am now up to 4 miles per day. I am so glad I signed up for a mat class to try Pilates last summer. I have moved on to individual lessons, and I wanted to share how much I appreciate Debbie's (and Tracey's) support in this new endeavor. Debbie is a wonderful teacher. In a nutshell: Small (5 students max), clean studio with an ocean view. I am over 50, out of shape, & was a hesitant student. After 6 months, I have nothing but praise for this studio. All 3 teachers I've had are great (Brittany, Tracy, Kelly). They keep a close eye on your form (unlike classes with 20+ students), and make corrections. They are positive, encouraging, knowledgeable. The studio runs occasional specials, such as buy one class, get one free. Downsides? I wish they offered more basic level classes at more times (mid day or later evening). This is an update to our pilates journey at Coe Dynamics. It has been almost a year that my husband and I come to this studio to do our weekly pilates sessions. Besides our fantastic teacher Brittany, we have gotten to know Tracy (the owner) and other teachers (Kelly and Azalea). We still love our regular teacher (Brittany), in addition we really like Tracy, Kelly and Azalea. Each of these wonderful teachers have different styles of teaching, but each one is very effective. We always feel great after each pilates session. With the regular weekly pilates sessions with Brittany, my knees had gotten so much better, I could even jog now (I couldn't walk well a year ago). By the way, I used to be dehydrated and got leg cramps very easily even if I made sure to drink 10 cups of water or more per day and took enough potassium in my vitamins. One day I mentioned this issue with Kelly, she suggested to put a splash of Pink Salt in my water. I have been doing just that for about three weeks, the result is wonderful. I don't know how to explain why Pink Salt works, I just know that it works for me. Thank you, Kelly for this great suggestion; and thank you, Tracy for carry this wonderful product. read more

I have been a member of CoeDynamics now for almost a year and Tracy has completely changed the relationship I have with my body. I have suffered from chronic back pain for several years, and after practicing Pilates with Tracy on a weekly basis, I no longer suffer from consistent back pain in my daily life. In addition to her Pilates practice, Tracy is also a a wellness and nutrition practitioner. After several months of steady Pilates practice at the studio, Tracy and I discussed an internal digestive problem I have suffered from for over a decade. After realizing that my digestive problem could not be solved with steady exercise alone, I met with Tracy and we developed a nutrition program to fit my needs. Immediately after changing my diet per Tracy's suggestions, I stopped suffering from chronic migraines and immediately stopped taking daily migraine medication I had taken for 5 years. Have been going to this studio for years and generally love it The owner recently increased the prices in such a way that... Instead of appreciating customer loyalty.. She has made it impossible to enjoy the " packages" offered by putting a ridiculous time constraint on them... Thereby she has increased the price of classes in one fell swoop Years of classes and loyalty have just been rewarded with a big fat slap in the face with price hike and complete disregard for my years of classes and referrals The instructors are great. I was amazed how much pilates helped me. I'm 34 and drive a lot for work, so had a lot of compression in my lower back. The instructors really got involved to help me and the results were amazing. Just a few sessions and my lower back opened up. After trying exercise for years it's amazing to have such a result that fast. I have been taking Tracy's group reformer class only once a week for 9 months and am truly surprised at the difference it has made. Not only do I feel physically freer, but my golf and tennis games have definitely shown improvement.
