I have enjoyed all the classes I have taken at Club Pilates Burke and am stronger and happier for the workouts I completed.

I've been a member since 2020- I started with four a month and have worked my way up as to an unlimited member. Every instructor is so knowledgeable and empowering. It was very hard for me to get started but they made everything so accessible and were so helpful along the way. Even "tough" instructors genuinely are encouraging and want you to get it. I always feel good after a class even when it's been challenging because they make you feel really positive about your workout. I've never stuck with any workout or exercise club and I've been so pleased with my membership and specifically this location. They've made a nice community of instructors and members and everyone is very friendly and chatty. Great workout every time and great vibes all around! read more

I am so glad I found this Pilates studio! The atmosphere is super relaxing and Zen-like, making it easy to unwind and focus on my workout. The studio is always spotless and organized, which adds to the calm vibe. The manager, Larry, is incredibly helpful and goes above and beyond to ensure I have a great experience. The classes are well-structured and challenging, and the instructors are knowledgeable and offer helpful variations and corrections. Overall, I'm loving the studio, classes, and instructors - it's a great fit for me even though it is pricey. My plantar fasciitis is worth every penny, as foot work is important, and has helped a lot in my recovery. read more

Life-Changing Experience at Club Pilates is the best description! I seldom do reviews, but this experience deserves sharing and my time, in hopes that someone else may benefit. I have worked at being active most of my adult life and actively embraced most forms of exercise at various gyms, recreation centers, churches, gardening, etc. As a senior, diagnosed with osteoarthritis and chronic inflammation, I can honestly say that joining Club Pilates has been one of the best decisions I've made for my health and well-being. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed respected, and completely at ease. My hat's off to Larry and others who set the tone for my experience. The studio is clean, calm, and nicely organized, creating a comfortable environment for all fitness levels. The front office staff and class instructors are exceptional--knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely caring. They take the time to explain each movement clearly and always offer modifications, which makes the classes both safe and enjoyable. I never feel rushed or pressured, and I truly appreciate how attentive they all are to proper form and individual needs. Since starting Pilates, I've noticed significant improvements in my strength, balance, flexibility, and posture. Everyday activities feel easier, and I have more confidence in my movement than I've had in years. The classes are challenging in the best way, yet gentle enough to protect my joints. What I love most is the sense of community. Everyone is friendly and encouraging, and I always leave class feeling energized, accomplished, and uplifted. Club Pilates has helped me stay active, independent, and positive--and I look forward to every session. I signed up for a complimentary Pilates class to see what's going on. I really liked my instructor. She was very patient and easy to understand. However, I did not have a good impression with Larry. He started pressuring us to get membership. I personally did not think 130 a month plus 150 dollars is worth 4 classes a month. When I expressed my thoughts, he called me broke and said it's ok to admit I'm broke. At first I thought it was a joke. But the more I got home and thought about it. It did not sit right with me. Just because of that I will not be getting a membership at Burke Pilates but I will at Fairfax location. Edit: I just don't see how calling someone broke is a sales strategy because does he think I'll buy the membership to prove that I'm not broke? I joined in Dec 2024 after having chronic full back/pelvic pain and mobility issues (started when I was 26, Oct 2023) and was doing physical therapy for over a year. My physical therapist recommended Pilates because while therapy was helping, it was not improving my pain or range of motion. On the day of my free into class, I walked out sore but feeling stretched and with a lower pain level then what I walked in with, it felt so good to be able to do a workout after not being able to exercise. Mr. Larry was so helpful in getting me signed up and working with me so that I could start classes right away. Two months in and I can honestly say you'll love Club Pilates Burke. Every instructor is amazing, they are really supportive during sessions, being super careful and alert to any chronic issues you alert them to. Larry the general manager is all about the money and nothing else. I get it, everyone needs to make money in the end,but the way he does it is not right. Avoid this place like the plague! If I can give this awful place no stars, I would do it. I'm so shocked that this establishment has "5 star" reviews on Google! They must be phony because I have heard rumblings among members about this place. The owner Julie Karickhof who runs this place is awful and trains her employees to be rude and disrespectful to customers. The so-called "General Manager" is Larry who has a super awful attitude just like the owner. If you are not white or East Asian, expect to be treated badly at this establishment. I believe the owner has prejudice against people of color based on preconceived prejudice and it's reflected in the people she hires. I have noticed that this club is full of white and Asian clients and I'm usually the only brown person in the class most of the time. I'm quite sure the owner is going to respond to this trying to discredit me because that's what she did when her staff treated me terribly. I pay $200 a month for my membership with this place and got treated terribly! I noticed that Julie, the owner was filming around me when she was taking videos of the class for IG and Tiktok. It was almost like she didn't want me to be seen in her videos. I thought that it was just a coincidence until it happened more than 3 times! I also noticed that she was filming the whole studio and all the clients in all her other videos of classes in which I wasn't. I thought they are just people with bad personalities until a few incidences confirmed it's more than that. The club recently introduced a policy that members must arrive on time and if they are more than 5 minutes late, the front desk staff won't let them take the class. This is a real problem for busy customers who sometimes, run about 7 or 10 minutes late. Personally, I have never been more than 3 minutes late. Usually, I'm early or on time. I have seen other members who kept coming in about 7 minutes late and not getting tuned away. I was running 2 minutes late one day and the front desk girl was super rude to me and asked me to leave. She almost seemed to have a personal issue with me being only 2 minutes late! The instructor asked me a few days later why I left, and she was shocked to hear that I was asked to leave. I called Julie and she sounded annoyed that I called because she didn't want to handle customer complaints. Recently, I had to buy a pair of toe socks from Club Pilates Burke. The receptionist was on the phone as always. I showed her the socks and she waved at me to indicate that she will charge me when she got off the phone. When the class was over, I asked if she charged me and she had forgotten. I did her job for her that time. The second time I had to buy socks, she was the phone again and I asked her to charge my account. I thought she did, especially, since I had bought socks from her before and I'm easy to remember as the only token brown person in the class. When I showed up to class a few days later, I was treated with judgement because their receptionist forgot to charge my account again! Larry, talked to me in a condescending manner as if I couldn't pay $20 for socks when I was paying $200 for the membership! When messaged Julie she responded saying that her time is valuable and can't talk on the phone. She finally called me and accused me of being "chronically late to class" when I wasn't and blamed me for her staff member's failure. She also asked me to leave her club because I wasn't happy. Yes, that was her solution! She further stated that she doesn't like to bother with handling the club and wants her employees to be able to run it. She said that doesn't want her staff to feel uncomfortable! She told me in a condescending tone that a YMCA might be a better option for me and not a boutique club! Yes, that's exactly what she said! If she says things like that to customers in the age of social media, can you imagine what she must say behind closed doors? I told her that I would like to leave her Club Pilates and join another one in the area! Avoid this place like the plague! read more

The Burke Club Pilates had me at Hello! Each staff member has been so helpful and kind. Every workout is different even if it's the same type and level so the classes are never stale or boring. The instructors are always fun and do a great job of watching each member and correcting our form as needed. They make working out safe and enjoyable! Although I have been fairly active most of my life, I've never really worked out on a consistent basis. After having 3 kids late in life, my core strength was non existent and my back was always aching. After learning about Pilates and the core strength/stability benefits I decided to try it. I've been attending for 6mo and have seen a dramatic increase in core strength, balance and flexibility and a huge reduction in back pain! Larry, the general manager, was very rude and a bit overwhelming. I had a class scheduled on a weekday morning at 10am, when I was met with an emergency, fortunately I was able to give them an hour notice of my unexpected absence, however Larry decided to make a snarky comment saying "emergency or you just don't want to come in" and proceeded to tell me he would "accept it" this time but next time there would be a charge. He honestly made me very uncomfortable and drove me to make the decision to part ways with this location. Aside from that, the instructors are a great, saddened their manager isn't setting a good example. read more

I went in for a complementary class and enjoyed it. The instructor was lovely. With no intention to pay for a membership at this time, as a college student, my friend and I pressured to do so by Larry. As another comment mentioned, he kept making us uncomfortable with his unprofessional comments. Luckily, we had 3 days to think about it and we decided that it was not our decision the first place. My friend got her refund instantly, but i'm practically begging for mine. I called them and no answers, my friend on the other hand called moments after and got a response and refund instantly. Without even confirming that they refunded me, I started to think I was getting scammed and texted them and got they briefly said they canceled it. My friend received an email instantly confirming her refund, while I did not, so i am still concerned at this moment. I've gone back and forth with them many times and it seems like they cannot resolve any issue. I'm afraid I might be getting scammed, i'll wait a few days then I will dispute it with my bank because this is frustrating, honestly i've never had this much issue getting MY own money back. It seems like if you're not willing to give them money, they have absolutely no regard towards you. Please do not go here for an intro class if you get pressured easily or do not want to be made feel uncomfortable. Shameful that we really enjoyed the class and instructor though. Just took an introductory class. While the instructor was very helpful and thorough, after the class the owner, Larry, was extremely abrasive while trying to sell memberships. He went over all the information and was asking everyone "ok who wants to sign up?!" Over and over again. Calling people out specifically about signing up. Honestly I wanted to sign up and then after hearing him talk and berate people to get a membership, it made me not sign up. I could not get out there fast enough. No one was getting up, everyone felt extremely uncomfortable when we were just there to try a free workout and see if it would be a good fit for us. We didn't even have enough time to breathe before getting a membership thrown down our throats by Larry. Don't recommend. read more

I am a 47 year-old man and although I have been working out my whole life, I recently developed knee stiffness after injuring myself on the tread mill. I was skeptical but with about 3 months of Pilates, I gained flexibility and strength that I never had before and my knee is better. All of the Instructors are knowledgeable and every class is different. I highly recommend adding Pilates into your normal workout rotation. read more

Probably not the best place for younger people. Such a nice and clean studio with (a bit overly) friendly staff. However, the class was very high energy which I was not expecting from a Pilates class. It seemed more like an aerobics class. I especially didn't like how at the end of class all of the employees came into the area to sell us a membership. It felt very overwhelming to have everyone there. In the end as I was talking to Julie about the class, she did not pay attention and instead turned to cater to another woman who was buying a membership. I just left out the door a little off put. Overall it was an uncomfortable situation and not at all as calming as I expected a Pilates class to be. read more

Loved my initial membership. After I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I asked to pause my membership due to a double mastectomy surgery. I was met with debate and monthly fees. Multiple requests to speak to the franchise owner were ignored. I do not recommend. read more

This is a brand new studio. The equipment is awesome and the studio is amazing. Classes are very popular so sometimes it's hard to get one...you have to book in advance. The instructors are great too. I've only taken classes with Julie (the owner) and Thuy. They are both very professional and gives you a great workout. I think I got dismissed from the end of the presentation because I was reading ahead. At the end of the introductory class, I believe the owner, unsure because she didn't introduce herself, she was a different person than the instructor, spoke to the group about the different packages. I know my schedule, reviewed the packages, and was reading the testimony on the back page of the handout( I was interested to see how others have benefited- which could be a selling point!!!). Apparently, reading ahead is not allowed. The owner called me out saying, "we are on the first page".I replied, "I know I've already read that page. " She then said, "if you've read ahead, you can go to the front desk then." Maybe she didn't think I was interested, maybe she didn't think I had the money, but she basically kicked me out of the group meeting. She didn't do that to anyone else ( there were at least 8 other people there). *The instructor and the people at the front desk were approachable. However, the owner is the one trying to sell the program. Maybe think about either telling people before you start your presentation that you prefer they stay on the same page as you or giving folks the option to go to the front desk if they already know their needs. Julie and all the instructors made it so easy to get hooked on Pilates! The classes have something for everyone, and the instructors are high energy, super knowledgeable and very friendly. No class is ever the same, even if it's the same level and type. If you happen to get on the waitlist, it's fairly easy to get into a class, as people frequently cancel. I have yet to not get off the waitlist. I go once a week and have seen amazing results in having a stronger core and I'm much more effective in my other sports. I have been goi g to Club Pilates Burke for about a year and a half. My posture is better, my abs are stronger, my feet never hurt, and I zip up and down steps faster than my 11-year-old. And I have fun getting stronger. All different classes and instructor styles to choose from, and the classes are small enough that you get the attention you need from the excellent teachers. I came to Club Pilates Burke from another location and I can honestly say that everyone has been so welcoming. Every instructor I've tried so far has been super great. With the different levels and types of classes offered here, no workout is ever the exact same so the variety has been great to add to my routine!
