I used to practice yoga very regularly, and go to the gym very often, but I've been out of that regimen for quite some time; now I get winded walking up a long flight of stairs, and the gentle yoga class makes me feel like I'm going to die. Being that I am in in such poor shape, it's pretty intimidating to start working out again. But I feel really comfortable here, the instructors work with you and you get individualized attention based on your own capabilities. I bought a few classes on Groupon after going to the free trial class offered online, and I will be purchasing more.

You will learn a lot about the origins and traditions of Yoga, and they offer your first class free. I've practiced yoga on and off for years now, both at home and at other studios in the NOVA area, but I finally found a place that has inspired me to practice seriously this time around.

Some of these schools are great (specifically the Jhoon Rhee ones), but most are WTF belt factories. What makes this place special is that it is only a martial arts studio and workout gym. You come there to work and learn and be part of a community. The instructors are focused and passionate and they have my 10 year old reaching for aspects of himself taekwondo never did. With it being my first time, I was so pleasantly surprised to see a nice welcome note when I first walked in. It had my name on it and everything. I'm always a little skeptical of corporate yoga spots, but this one actually was quite warm and made me feel comfortable enough to come back. Plus, I really enjoyed the class. I might have opted for different music, but Melanie is at a great job. There is ample parking available in nearby lots. They offer refreshing eucalyptus towels. The bathroom is clean with deodorant, facial spray, and dry shampoo, if you need it. I absolutely look forward to coming back.

The classes are on the higher end price-wise, but honestly, the way you feel when you walk out after each class makes it worth it. My only wish is that there were more shorter class options.
