Poor internet connection most of the evening
    S I.

The equipments are mostly old. They did some renovation over the past year and rearranged equipment but overall comparing to other fitness center this is does not even come close, not modern, buttons don't work, etc. I come here because it's 5 minutes from home, otherwise I would be going somewhere else. Customer policy and customer service is mediocre, to give you specific, the internet bandwidth is terrible (especially in the evening when everyone logged in). they charge you to replace your check in card even thigh it's because of ware and tare (confirming even after owner posted policy) Too focused on signing up new member, not nearly enough on keep the existing. Also, fact, compare the gym hours especially weekends compare to other gyms or even other golds.

These are Kangoo Jumps shoes used for the class!

This is a very functional suburban gym. The layout is basically one giant room with weights and all the conditioning equipment in the center of the room and all the cardio equipment around it. The reason to go to this gym is the KANGOO JUMPS cardio class. I had read about these classes in the Washington Post Express and had to try them. Unparalleled fun. The instructor Beth Kruper is a gem: knows her stuff, energetic, and makes choreography easy to follow. You have got to try this class.

    My awesome price list.

I may have enjoyed being a member, but I'll never know because I was SO turned off by the crazy spiel covering all potential costs. So, HOW was I was given all the pricing breakdowns and options? On a brochure or even a nicely printed sheet of paper with details and prices nicely organized so I could make a fully-formed decision? HA! Try frantic scribbles on an index card (see photo) while furiously talking. I tried to make notes after the fact while it was still fresh but an hour later I was confused. JUST GIVE ME THE DAMN PRICES ON A HANDOUT. I decided to buy a treadmill instead. I was going to only give them one star, but the facility seems nice, I liked that the women's locker room had its own exercise area, the A/C was pumping, and I like that they offer childcare...so I added a star.

Another useless sign on the wall at Golds no one adheres to...

I have been a member of this Golds gym for over three years and am usually in this facility almost seven days per week. I have enjoyed using this gym during the past three years and used to recommend it to others but due to what I have recently observed I cannot recommend this gym and will be looking for a new fitness facility. Today when I arrived around 3:15 pm I was using the bench press in the center carpeted area of the gym. On the shoulder machine in the carpeted area was a gym patron talking loudly on his cell phone. He was within about ten feet of Dale, one of the owners/managers and other gym staff yet no one asked this patron, who is one of the biggest men in the gym, to either end his call or move to the lobby to continue his discussion. In addition to talking loudly on his phone this member failed to remove the weights on the shoulder machine and also did not wipe down his equipment. This member moved to the leg machine where he sat and continued his loud conversation within a few feet of a sign asking members to take all calls off of the gym floor. Once he left the leg machine, which he also did not wipe down, he moved to the back machine where he continued his extremely loud conversation, failed to remove his weights, or wipe down this machine. I was working on the decline press on the other side of the gym and I could still hear him talking. Not once during his loud conversation did a member of the Golds gym staff ask him to refrain from talking on his phone. When I was on the treadmill around 4:00 pm, about forty minutes after I began my workout, I observed him walking into the locker room still talking on his cell phone, which according to the gym rules, is also prohibited. Unfortunately gym patrons talking on their cell phones is a daily issue at this Golds gym and it is a travesty that the gym staff at this Golds do not enforce the rules they posted. One of the reasons I left my last gym was due to the inconsiderate and rude behavior of fellow patrons who talked loudly on their phones while sitting on equipment those of us who are there to workout could be using. I am not paying my dues so I can come to a gym and have to listen to other patron's conversations. The last time I checked a gym is where one goes to workout, not engage in loud and lengthy phone calls that are disruptive, rude, and distracting to those of us that are there to workout. If you are serious about fitness and working out then I recommend you join a gym where patrons are considerate of one another, follow the posted rules, and where management actually enforces the rules they posted in their facility. Unfortunately this is not done at this Golds and it has become more of a social club then a gym where those serous about fitness go to exercise.

According to one of the staff members they "cut the lights out 10 minutes early to remind members the gym is about to close."

Tried signing up with the free 3 day pass to try the gym and got an email with a QR code and then was forced to set an appointment time to tour the gym which I set up. Then when I get to the gym I mentioned that I was here for a tour of the gym I had to do but they just ignored me as I stood there for a few minutes until they asked if I needed help scanning into the gym. The employees at the desk then told me that they don't actually participate in the pass program even though it listed as directly from their location's site. After reading other reviews on google it's obvious that this has been a thing for over a year where they won't honor the pass that they themselves are distributing. The employees then tell me they can get me on a full membership or a $20 day pass which isn't really a "day pass" since they don't send you anything that shows its good for the day or for the next 24 hours. It's just for you to walk in right then. Not wanting to leave and give up a chance to work out when I already drove all the way down there plus making it awkward I just agreed to get a day pass. After going downstairs I noticed that while they do have a lot of equipment around a lot of it is in disrepair or is extremely old and missing things. Attachments for cable machines just lying randomly around the floor, dumbbells strewn around everywhere, dirty wipe cloths littering the floor and draped on half the machines. The place was very dirty and they have just one poor woman trying to clean the entire gym. Even more so as a health concern there were almost no supplies to clean and wipe down equipment after use with there being only one stocked wipe dispenser in the ENTIRE gym. People aren't going to clean after themselves if you make it so difficult to do so but as a result it's just asking for ringworm transfer or something along those lines. The only water fountains are broken and don't even have the buttons you need to activate them. Vending machines broken, equipment broken, and the gym just tapes a piece of paper on the side saying "repairs scheduled." The locker room was gross and had a nasty, musky mildew smell. TLDR: The worst gym I have ever set foot in so far. I feel scammed out of my money and the whole place is in a gross state of cleanliness and disrepair. Turned me off of ever going back to a LA fitness again in the future.

I would like to formally report ongoing behavior at the gym that has created an uncomfortable and…read moreunprofessional environment for me. I am asking management to please review the security cameras because I believe the footage will support what I am describing. On multiple occasions, I observed an employee spending work hours working out instead of properly cleaning. One specific incident involved him barely vacuuming before returning to floor bench pressing. I directly asked him, "Are you cleaning or working out?" because it appeared he was using work time for personal workouts. I also want to address damage done to my brand new "One Day" Crocs. I checked them carefully before bringing them into the gym, and they were not damaged beforehand. I have previous experience working in clubs and gyms, and employees were only allowed to work out during breaks or after shifts ended, never while actively working. The main guy tall African American gave a glance look at my left damage crocs note with a sad reaction. I knew and gave me the proof to see what type of man the Muslim cleaning dude really is. There have also been repeated situations where this individual entered rooms exactly when I did multiple times, creating discomfort and concern about personal boundaries and respect for personal space. One time after I was told "this needs to stop," he was standing near the middle bench press area watching me in a way that felt inappropriate and confrontational. I responded by asking, "What the fuck are you looking at ?" because the behavior had already become ongoing and uncomfortable. Check the camera above the main lobby desk Additionally, I have noticed him repeatedly using the emergency exit located between the family bathroom and women's locker room area in a suspicious manner. People notice these actions, and it contributes to an uncomfortable atmosphere in the gym. I want to make clear this is not about religion, race, or background. This is about professionalism, respect, boundaries, and maintaining a safe gym environment for members. I am not gay at all. Since I have been attending this gym, I have not personally caused problems or had complaints made against me, but this situation has continued escalating due to his actions. I would appreciate management taking this matter seriously, reviewing camera footage, and helping resolve the issue professionally because the current environment has become uncomfortable due to these repeated actions. I just enjoyed my unnecessary vacation.
