At this location, they have live music, Tuesdays & Fridays from 3- 6 PM. I've been a fan of their restaurant since 2005 when I first visited their Waikiki location!! From tonight's dinner, I enjoyed the first round of ahi tacos although the second round was a tad too salty. I've indulged in the mahi mahi, mashed potatoes and Korean sticky ribs!!

SO many folks came to take pictures right in front of our table...so it turned out to be a bit of nuisance. In any case, this restaurant was bustling with people...very high in energy! Quite casual, but very nice nevertheless. This restaurant also turned out to specialize in Hawaiian food...something I haven't had since our 2nd honeymoon to Maui decades ago!! We started with Crispy Coconut Shrimp, which was delish! Then shared this huge Rib & Chicken plate and this Vegan Ravioli dish. We were stuffed by the end of it. But then, given that they knew that this was our anniversary trip, the restaurant treated us to this amazing dessert (huge serving of ice cream with fudge etc.etc.)...and WOW! We really appreciated this generosity!! Also enjoyed their Margarita (Boomers, I think?). Service was good, but a tad slow...given how bustling the crowd was. Overall, we had a great time here (minus all the touristy picture-taking in front of us lol!).

We came for Sunday brunch and joined the waitlist beforehand. The hostess was a bit rude when we came to check-in (but could have just been very stressed due to the late crowd) and told us it would still be another 20 minutes despite us being second on the waitlist. We got seated after about 10 minutes though. They were clearly understaffed and our server was understandably overwhelmed. Service was significantly slower than I would have preferred but he was apologetic and explained the situation. We were seated on the patio and it does get warm with direct sunlight but they were quick when we asked for the blinds to be pulled down. I got the maple fried chicken breakfast sandwich with hash browns. I really enjoyed the hashbrowns, they were perfect. The chicken was very crispy and the brioche bun was excellent. Unfortunately the whole sandwich was a bit bland for my palate but after adding some maple syrup it was pretty much perfect. My best friend's go-to here is the risotto Benedict and she loves it. Overall food was good but wait times left a little to be desired. The place itself is very cute though. Prices are a bit on the higher end but reflect the location. I would go again but maybe only on a weekday when they're less busy.

Our favorites were the duck pasta and tomato and burrata appetizer, but everything was delicious. Highly recommend sharing everything family style - you'll want to try as much as possible! In addition to the great food, everyone here was amazing. For one, our server accidentally put in an appetizer that we didn't order, and instead of taking it away, they gave it to us as a complimentary treat. They also explained everything well, packed things up for us as we went so that we had room for new dishes, and gave a full sized cheesecake slice as the complimentary birthday dessert. Overall, I will absolutely consider coming back to Catania for any special occasion, or just a delicious meal!

The restaurant wasn't particularly busy, and there appeared to be more than enough staff on hand, yet the service was painfully slow. The sea bass was extremely dry and underwhelming. The yellowfin tacos were decent, but certainly nothing memorable. What bothered me most, however, was the attitude of the staff. Everyone seemed unfriendly, irritated and unwelcoming. Between the mediocre food, sluggish service, and unpleasant staff, this was not a great experience.

It was a really hot day, so we were happy to get an indoor table. The atmosphere was really cute and colorful, with lots of flowers and pink. Definitely a little girly for me, but my girlfriend loved it! There were a couple of small things that were a little off. We didn't really like that the drinking glasses were plastic. Also, we ordered a few lattes, including the pumpkin pecan latte, and one of the drinks that was supposed to be hot came out cold. We let them know, though, and they replaced it without any problem. The food was definitely the best part. They have a really good variety on the menu, and there were so many things that looked good it was hard to decide. I got the lobster Benedict, and my girlfriend got the steak and eggs. Both were really good! The ingredients tasted fresh and high quality, and everything was cooked and seasoned really well. No complaints at all about the food, it was fantastic. One other thing worth mentioning is the restroom! it was very clean, which is something we really appreciate when dining out. Overall, a great spot for breakfast/brunch with a beautiful atmosphere and, most importantly, excellent food. We'd definitely come back!

I got the fried chicken with biscuits and gravy, hot honey, eggs over easy, with a side of fruit. The chicken was lightly battered and fried to perfection. The hot honey was delightful. The gravy and biscuits really completed the meal. The eggs were ooey gooey :). The portion size was very generous, I could not finish it in one sitting. Guess I'll have breakfast for dinner tonight too. I also tried the pistachio latte. At first I wasn't getting much pistachio in the drink, but i stirred the foam in, let it sit til the end of the meal, and finally it is there. Drink was ok. I also tried some of the chilaquiles and spicy shakshuka. Both were also really good! The single blueberry pancake was very fluffy and on the sweet side, but my friends really enjoyed it. Personally, I like tart so I usually go for something more lemony. If you like sweet pancakes, this one is for you. The waitstaff were very attentive and were very knowledgeable about the dishes. I would definitely come back to try other dishes. This was such a good brunch!

The biggest draw about Destiny Coast was the ocean view as the outdoor terrace was perched above the cliffs of La Jolla Shores that gave an expansive look at the open water. Parking can be a challenge as the lot had maybe six dedicated spots that could be used for up to two hours. All of the other spaces required payment so be mindful if you come at a busy time. You order at the service counter and then take a number to bring to your table. Most of the seating was on the terrace that could hold at least 50 customers, but it wasn't rainproof. Any hint of precipitation would close the area. The inside was limited to five small tables which was where I sat. Breakfast and lunch were served daily until 3:00. Dinner was offered from Wednesday to Sunday between 5 and 9 pm. The top of the weekday food menu featured Destiny Cinnamon Rolls at $10 a pop in three different flavors. Morning favorites, sandwiches, flatbreads & salads, protein bowls, soups & sides, and sweets were the categories. Drinks were listed on a separate page with coffees, teas, smoothies, specialty cocktails, and prepackaged beverages available. My selection was a Golden State Breakfast Burrito that consisted of soft scrambled eggs, beef short rib, crispy smashed potatoes, and pepper jack cheese. A cup of red salsa was provided on the side. While the size of the burrito was nice, the price was a whopping $24!! The item was cut in half to make it easier to manage. The short rib was tender, and the potatoes were small and smashed as described. The salsa was quite spicy for my palate. I could see the cost being elevated because of the type of meat that was used, however crossing twenty dollars for a burrito was excessive. Most of the menu choices were inflated by a few dollars even compared to other La Jolla spots close to the Cove. I gave a four star rating for my lunch at Destiny Coast.
