That happened to me. Again, I was in the same neighborhood and same thing happened with my car but different part this time. I called Tikal on a Sunday thinking that it was open but it wasn't. The owner answered the phone call & said auto repair shops in Inwood are all closed on Suns cuz of auto parts shops are also close. So no parts coming in means no parts getting repair. I was devastated since I wasn't from the neighborhood. I was from Queens. Very far from where I am. The owner was super accommodating in coming to the shop on a Sun when its close just to get my car into the shop. He told me he'll take care of the parts & let me know what's wrong with it & the pricing. Monday came around, true to his words, he'd let me know over the phone that it was the same as my suspicion predicted, it was my brake pads that flew off. Told me the pricing and had it fixed after I agreed to it. Got it done within the same day & I was able to pick it up around noon after being notified like about 3.5 hrs before. I was super happy with the work & the results. The service was superb and the shop owner & his son was extremely helpful and not hostile like some of the shops that I'd went to. A helpful tip .... I had a very disappointing experience with this shop due to poor diagnosis and refusal to take…read moreaccountability. I brought my Jeep in with an engine issue and was told I needed to replace the O2 sensors. I paid for the parts and labor based on their diagnosis. When the issue persisted, I took my Jeep to an official Jeep mechanic, who identified the actual root problem as a valve cover gasket leak -- something that should have been diagnosed from the start. Because the valve cover gasket was leaking oil, it contaminated the brand-new O2 sensors this shop had me replace, rendering them ineffective. In other words, I paid for parts that never should have been installed until the real issue was addressed. When I raised this with the original mechanic, they refused to offer a refund or take responsibility, despite the fact that their misdiagnosis directly caused unnecessary expenses and additional damage. I fully expect a defensive response to this review claiming these facts are untrue. They are not. I have documentation from Jeep supporting this diagnosis and the sequence of events. I am sharing this so other customers can make an informed decision and avoid paying for repairs that do not address the actual problem. Mistakes happen -- but how a business handles them matters. Unfortunately, this shop chose not to stand behind their work. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before authorizing repairs here.

Yes, it is hot, 100 degrees outside, however when I brought the car in the sticker was connected to the windshield and the sticker is the same from the DMV, nothing to do with my particular car. (besides pieces of the old inspection sticker were left on the dashboard, not very professional) Where is the service for me to get to my car and just see the sticker off?? don't know if it's off the windshield, they can ticket you for that. NOT very business-like at all!! Few years ago, brought a different car in for whatever reason and after few days of them telling me they are looking at it, go on the lot and see my back window opened while it was raining, ask them why the window is opened while it's raining?? oh, it's broken, WHAT?? it was working fine and closed when I brought it in!!! I had to pull the window up and tape it to stay closed.

I took my C300 to this shop and asked for a replacement of my backup light and washer fluid hose. Not the most difficult of work and the guy even assured me it would be fine. He ended up replacing my backup light with a used bulb that was dim and charged me 50 dollars for it. Next, he "replaced" my entire washer fluid reservoir when only the hose needed replacing . A panel from the bottom of my car ended up falling out 2 days later and all my washer fluid fell out. I ended up leaving with more problems than I had because I had to find someone who could put the panel back up. Avoid these people if you can.

I recently found an honest and good mechanic shop Called Central Valley Auto repair. Mr. Muhammad is a very nice man and made me feel so relaxed and comfortable. I have been hearing and feeling a grinding noise on the right side of my Ford explorer truck for a while. I kept postponing to get it fixed due to not knowing any shops i felt i could trust. I started looking online for the best shops near me. I came across Central Valley Auto Repair. I took my car there and spoke with Mr. Muhammad, he said I would have to leave the truck and he will inspect and give me a call. He call me back shortly with a great quote for the parts and labor so told him to proceed with the repairs. A few minutes later he called me again and stated there was more issues that needed to be addressed with the repairs. The quote for the additional parts and labor was also great and fair. When I went to pick up the truck Mr. Muhammad informed me the truck was repaired and better than when I brought it in and if anything is wrong with his work to bring it back and he will fix it. As I drove the car home I kept thinking to myself this car is riding amazing feels like it was new. Before I reached home I got another call from Mr. Muhammad asking how was the car riding. Now that's what I call customer service. I told him I'm not taking my truck anywhere else for repairs. Central Valley Auto Repair has a customer for life! Mr. Muhammad is the Best!!!

As it was late at night I googled the nearest 24 hour shop. In the north of Queens there basically aren't any but I found M & F within reasonable range. Fortunately for me I was driving on runflat tires. The service was immediate. They plugged the hole pretty rapidly in a work area that was pretty well lit. I looked like a solid independent establishment. I had only two issues with the place: 1) They were cash only and had no ATM. I had to cross the street where there were two gas stations. The ATM at one was out of order so I had to then walk to the next. Money-in-hand I got back to my car and drove off. 2) The technician inflated the tire to double the recommended pressure. My car is equipped with tire pressure sensors. It detected a tire pressure of 54 psi in the newly plugged tire. I had to stop, for the 3rd time that night, to release pressure until the tire was at the recommended 32 psi. Bottom line: If you're in a bind don't hesitate to go there. They'll get the job done. Just bring cash and know the specs of your car/tire situation.
