This is one of the few shuttle companies offering service to and from Muir Woods…read more First and foremost, you cannot beat the price--$4.00 per person round trip. Unbelievable price considering parking at Muir Woods is nearly impossible and requires advanced reservations. My family arrived at Larkspur Landing in Larkspur, CA, as directed when I made our online reservations on gomuirwoods.com Advanced online shuttle reservations are a must. Our reservation was for 200 pm on a Sunday afternoon. Parking in the huge parking lot is free on weekends. We arrived at 130 pm and formed a line as instructed by a very nice male employee sitting in a large, company-like camper. There are port-a-potties here, but no other open restrooms. Shortly after 200, the same male employee from the company camper began scanning for tickets. This same employee provided information on what to expect (8 degrees cooler up in Muir Woods from where we were standing), that the drive would take 30 minutes, etc... Once we boarded the shuttle, the driver came in, and they took a headcount. There were eight empty seats, so he exited the shuttle and invited eight guests standing in line to board. Darn! A packed shuttle :( We were now packed like sardines. It was a warm day, and whatever little cool air was in the shuttle was now gone. It was starting to get warm, very warm inside. Once we took off, it felt as though it was no longer warm but HOT!! The AC was on, a vent on the shuttle roof was open, yet it was very uncomfortable as I began to sweat, and I could see that other guests were wiping sweat from their brows and/or fanning themselves. The ride up takes you along a winding road that goes up and down before you arrive at the entrance to Muir Woods. The driver did a GREAT job and was very professional and friendly. When we exited the shuttle, we were RELIEVED as the cool air hit our faces The return trip was different, as there were only half the riders in the shuttle. The driver did a great job, but the ride was definitely nerve-racking. The shuttle is on the side of the cliffs, and in some areas of the ride back, the driver was kicking up dirt, which means we were very close to the edge. The driver was very experienced, professional, and a great driver, but for someone like me who HATES heights, I was definitely sweating under my windbreaker. Overall, this is a GREAT way to get to Muir Woods without all the drama of trying to drive up and find parking in your own vehicle.

They met the guest with the smile. Told us what to expect. And left promptly at their start time, and brought us back promptly at the return time.

With a new arena in Downtown Sacramento, I had to find a way to avoid the traffic and expensive…read moreparking rates downtown to get to Kings games. I've tried parking at a lot near my work that I already pay for and get in and out access, but I also wanted to find another alternative. That lead me to Yolobus and their Y shuttle. Being a West Sac resident, I found out that they offer free shuttles that take you to and back from downtown during major events at the Golden 1 Center. They consider major events when the event draws a crowd of 10,000 or more. We can park our car for FREE near the West Sac Transit Center (where the Sacramento City College West Sac satellite campus is) and that's where the bus will pick you up. For a 7:30 tip off game, the first shuttle came at 6 p.m., and they run in 15 minute intervals. The bus dropped us off at 7th and Capitol where they also picked us back up after the game to take us back to our car. The total ride to and from spanned no more than 15 minutes. After the game, they start back the shuttles 5 minutes after the game ends and also comes in 15 minute intervals for an hour after the game. We took the first bus back and it was packed. And a thing to note was that it came MORE than 5 minutes after the game had ended, hence the packed bus. One of the many perks of taking this bus is that while the Capitol Mall streets were blocked during Kings games and other big events at the G1C, Sac PD allowed the Yolobus to pass through the closed street. I guess they worked out some deal with some folks way above my pay scale, which allows them to do that during these events. Totally felt like a VIP being in a ride where the cops moved barricades so your ride can get through! Now that I've discovered and experimented with this option in getting to the arena, I will now be using it more. For more information, I highly recommend checking out their page: http://www.yolobus.com/y/
