Foolishly didn't make reservations but was saved by a shuttle service option! Not really. We arrived 10 minutes early for our 3:55 shuttle and the bus didn't show until 4:35 and didn't leave until 4:40. The bus times are 3:55 and 4:55, not 4:40. It appears they just drive and you just get lucky for a shuttle to come get you. Mercy. Make your reservations at the national monument or just bring a good book to sit and wait for endless amounts of time at the shuttle pickup (which is also not marked). One family just straight up left and we toughed it out, but wasn't pleasant! No instructions or anything. read more

Ace parking support is rude and unhelpful. Got locked out of my email so I called to retrieve or cancel my reservation. I proceeded to get berated on the phone for I guess an unreasonable request?? Apparently they "can't do anything" without the barcode number...which is in the email. Does not matter that I have the email, name, date time and credit card information associated with the reservation. Basically only solution now is to report it as fraud to my credit card company and repurchase the pass. Based on the other reviews, I expect I'll receive the same type of service at the park. We showed up 10 minutes early for our 2:35pm shuttle appointment, and waited until the shuttle finally left around 3pm. They check your tickets before you board, and gave an intro into what to expect when you arrive at the park. The people we interacted with were friendly, but the long wait time after the scheduled departure time was annoying. While waiting for the shuttle, a line forms before it leaves. Each bus sits around 30-40 people, so even though they leave late, it might be smart to show up at your scheduled departure time or possibly before so that you aren't last in line and have to wait for another shuttle. After we left, we arrived 40 minutes later, and spent 2 hours walking the short path of the park. When we came back we had to wait ~20 min for the shuttle to arrive and it took us back. I think the shuttles could either be more timely or more transparent with their schedule. Otherwise be prepared to wait ~1 hour in total for the in/outbound shuttles. read more

There was plenty of parking on President's Day Weekend at 100 Shoreline , Mill Valley stop. The guy loading the busses was super friendly and so was the bus driver. We bought our tickets about a week ahead. You can buy tickets for park entry as well. $3.25 for shuttle and $15 for entry per person. The last shuttle out of Muir Woods is 5:55pm. I would have given them 5 stars but we ended up waiting about 45 minutes for a shuttle to leave. One had left just as we were leaving the park. They may need more busses on busier weekends?? It was really nice not to have to deal with all the bicyclists and speedy cars and having to find parking there. Let the shuttle drivers do it for you. read more

After eating a heavy breakfast at Fred's Coffee Shop in Sausalito, my family thought it would be a great idea to go hiking in Muir Woods right after. Sure, some light exercise after devouring pancakes is great, but my god, the shuttle ride down made me nauseous to say the least! We caught the shuttle from the Pohono Park and Ride area right under the freeway. The attendant explained that once at Muir Woods National Monument, we would pay the $5 round trip fare at the entrance. I personally think that's a great deal. But you also don't really have much of a choice when it comes to getting to and from the park because she then explained to us that the parking lot fills up as early as 8 in the morning. Shuttle it is, folks! Going to the park was no problem. My family of 13 got on a shuttle almost immediately and took the 35 minute ride down there. The views were amazing, despite the fact that I was biting my nails majority of the ride because we were so close to the mountain! Major props to the shuttle drivers. Getting a ride back to the parking lot is a different story. We must've been waiting in line well over an hour even though we were told that the shuttles come in intervals of 15-20 minutes. I began to think that there must be only one shuttle per route because the other line was extremely long as well! Despite the disorganization and insufficient amount of shuttles, the park and ride option is convenient and I would definitely use it again if I plan to visit Muir Woods. Overall, it's worth it and you don't have to worry about driving and parking yourself. P.S. Don't lose your receipt because that's your ticket back to the parking lot! read more

Muir Woods is one of the most peaceful places in the Bay Area--where else can you get those looming redwoods, those patches of green unrivaled anywhere in the region, those whiffs of fresh and woody air? The Muir Woods shuttle, on the other hand, is probably one of the least peaceful places in the Bay Area. Muir Woods seems to have teamed up with Marin Transit to bring this apparently convenient service to the masses. And you know what? It is convenient--in theory. Unfortunately, this convenience is heavily marred by a variety of factors: 1. Subpar online documentation - I appreciated that there was a basic schedule for both weekdays and weekends available online, but from a UI standpoint, it just seemed like it was old information or otherwise un-maintained. It would be fantastic to have updates on special weekends--like holiday weekends. In my case, July 3rd was a Monday and sandwiched into the greater July 4th holiday weekend. It was quite unclear if there was some sort of special schedule; in the end, it was like any other Monday, apparently, despite the clearly increased number of people relative to any other Monday. How to fix this? Maybe a Twitter or Facebook page with important updates? Maybe more updates to the official National Park Services Muir Woods site? 2. Lateness - All in all, I waited close to 3 hours total for the outgoing and incoming shuttle rides. This is pretty ridiculous. The buses did not really adhere to the schedule at all. The posted papers merely were a set of guidelines plus 30 minutes, at least. Worse yet, buses with nearly full capacity would arrive and assure that the next bus would be "10-20 minutes" away. It's okay to tell us the truth; these estimates proved to be empty promises. 3. Availability - I think this is the true key to solving this issue. I'm not sure what the budget is, and maybe that's the reason for the shortcomings of this service. That said, if more buses and drivers could be available, then the 30+ minutes in between buses from Muir Woods down could be alleviated. Waiting at Muir Woods for 2 hours in a line that barely dwindled with each bus was demoralizing and really the opposite experience of what a convenience should be. 4. Lack of car enforcement - This is not purely on the shuttle itself, but the parking lot pickup area is very flawed in the sense that tourists constantly blocked the incoming stream of vehicles by idling and picking up families, dropping off people, or just basiclaly hovering for no discernible reason. Taxis and Ubers were also holding up traffic waiting to pick people up; surely, there has to be some sort of enforcement or traffic control here to really keep things moving. I have no doubt--after watching it for two hours--that this kind of lax nature propagates down and ultimately affects the timeliness of shuttle arrival. I will say this: the driver I had (had him for both trips up and down, actually) was a fantastic driver. He knew how to take those turns in a safe fashion and not have us barrel down a cliff. For that, I'm grateful, and that's the only reason I'll add a star to bring this up to 2 stars. Judging by other reviews, this system clearly needs some sort of reform. I hope Muir Woods and Marin Transit realize this and bring out the full potential of this service; for the sake of the greater public's appreciation of nature and National Parks, I think this is a reasonable ask. read more

The only reason this has one star is due to the convenience of parking and riding and of course the sheer beauty and majesty of the Muir Woods Park. They are not on time. In fact, in the time me and my fellow park goers have been waiting for the "every 20 minutes" schedule we could have taken 3 shuttles round trip. The Sausalito 66F line has arrived and left twice. The 66 to Pohono is not on time. If you don't mind wasting hours of your time, this is the shuttle for you! read more

TL:DR - There is parking available at the Sausalito ferry terminal ($2 per hour for the entire day) and Marin City stop (park in the huge shopping center next to the stop for free). 45 min one way trip from the Sausalito stop. Bus leaves on time. Return trips to the city, however, is very disorganized and is run by mob rule. Don't wait until the last few shuttles to go home. This is primarily a review of my shuttle trip from Sausalito ferry terminal and Marin City drop offs (not the Pohono stop). I went on a Monday during the day, so the crowds were probably not as bad. But I did not pay attention to the reservation site when it said that there was no parking at the Sausalito and Marin county pick up locations, this could not be further from the truth. But at the Sausalito ferry terminal, there are several long term parking lots available, while the street meters are limited to 3 hours, the ferry parking lot has parking available for the entire day at a rate of $2 an hour. The Marin City parking space is right next to a giant shopping plaza where I would have just parked at for free. This is definitely the best option, but I will say I'm not sure how strictly the businesses enforce towing for non-patrons, but as we drove by most of the lot was really empty, so it's not like business was booming on a Monday. For us, the bus left right on schedule each time. They got there about 15 min early and left right on time. The bus was fairly full, but a few people were able to hop on without previously booking a reservation even though it was "sold out" online. My guess is that some people didn't show up, so it's like, why wouldn't you fill the space. From Sausalito, it took about 45 min each way. I've previously read in other reviews that a lot of the frustration for this service was for the return trip, and that was my experience as well. Knowing this before hand, I purposely did not wait for the last few shuttles. For me, their biggest issue was not having any system, organization, signage, or anything to help people queue up to get on the bus. There just ended up being massive crowd of people surrounding the shuttle stop with people just pushing to get on the bus, some people who did not make it on the previous bus also missed on this bus, and with each bus scheduled to come every 30 min, this is unbelievably frustrating. While we did not make the first bus we intended (we got there 25 min before the shuttle was set to arrive btw), we were able to make the second bus, which came 15 min after the first one and was not on the schedule. All in all, I would def take the shuttle again, as other people have said, even with the new reservation system for parking spots, the two main lots were full by 11 am, side streets were packed, and people were already parking illegally, but the shuttle was able to drop us off right at the entrance for about half the cost of parking. read more

Come on now, let's not be babies. What did you expect for $3 round trip? Silk sheets and free champagne? Muir Woods Shuttle is the only logical mode of transportation if you plan on visiting the woods after 8am. The park's parking lot is tiny and demand definitely exceeds supply, so your best bet when it comes to getting to the woods is to take the shuttle. Yeah, the company clearly does the bare minimum they have to to get by. Yes, they don't give you any money back if you don't have exact change. But if you were able to discover the existence of this shuttle online in the first place, surely you must have seen the part about "exact change only". It's very clearly stated on the webpage. So it's your own fault for not thinking ahead to break that $20. As for the complaints about getting sick on the ride. Again, seriously? If you did even a modicum of research on Muir Woods, you would know that the park is high up on a mountain. It follows then that mountain roads are windy and there will be a lot of curving as you ride uphill and downhill. If these kinds of roads make you sick, then plan ahead and bring Dramamine. I didn't think the drivers were going particularly fast on either trip, especially when you factor in the considerable windiness and the fact that they need to drive at a certain speed so as not to impede traffic on the one-lane-for-each-way road that doesn't allow passes. All that said, the attitude of the shuttle staff sucks. They clearly hate their jobs. They're also big on power-tripping and love to make people wait an excessively long time to board the bus even when the driver and bus are right there with nothing to do. But again, for 3 bucks, what more could you expect? read more

$5 round trip fare. I gotta say it is a bit disorganized schedule wise. You park at the Shuttle Center off hwy 101 and then get in line for the shuttle. The ride to the Visitor Center from prkg lot was just over half an hour. You pay for the shuttle at the visitor center and be sure to keep receipt as that is ur ticket to ride the shuttle back. They tell u shuttles come every 10mins, but it is a lie, we waited for over 40mins to get our shuttle back. The ride back took just under 30mins. People cut the line and the shuttle wranglers are indifferent and/or oblivious to who has been waiting in line the longest, so call those out who try and line jump! Worth not having to deal with the mess that is parking at the park and it is a nice and scenic drive there. read more

Muir Woods is a beautiful, magical place with a severe parking issue. ACE was NOT the solution, though. 1. I have a National Parks Pass! Theoretically, this covers amenities (like parking)... 2. Except apparently, it doesn't cover Muir Woods parking. 3. Nothing but paying this private company $8 to hold you a parking space or paying for a shuttle service works now. So I call the ACE company and get the world's longest automated message to confirm whether my parks pass covers parking. There is no way, as it turns out, to make a reservation or talk to a real person using ACE's phone number. This is obnoxious, but more so was the online chat person's condescending explanation that the fees ''help" the park by letting them employ more park people to "make the park safer". Sure; you guys totally don't have a bunch of other parking sites in SF and I'm sure a ton of this money actually goes back to the parks. We made a reservation for 12:15 pm on 6/11 with gomuirwoods.com. We waited in the heat for over a hour and were not allowed to board any shuttle. The driver yelled at us to "stay back," if we approached to ask a question. After an hour in the heat with no chance of boarding any shuttle, a member of our party got very sick in the heat, forcing us to leave. We had a phone barcode to show the res and this was never scanned, but we were charged 55$ anyway. Res policy is you must cancel 72 hours ahead, but the res was sold that day. I have tried to contact Muir woods and the shuttle co with no luck. This is a very shoddy operation, even fraudulent, selling tickets they cant fulfill. The Park service should be ashamed to have this connection. the shuttle company should at least be investigated. This was a terrible experience - the worst of many years of travel. read more

First trip to Muir woods i drove in early and had to find parking. Second time i got here late with some family, and i didnt want the kids to have to walk on the street down where you can always find parking but a trek up, and its narrow with cars moving along. Luckily There were no long lines. We got on the first shuttle that arrived. This was around 11am. First, they dont give change, or accept cards. This makes absolutely no sense. You owe 16, you give them a 20, you get a 4 dollar token for next time. WTF. There taking all the damn cash and ones. The worker was clueless, the line was kinda a mess, and he decides to tell us after that children under 5 are free. We had enough cash for 15, but home dude tells us after we buy the tickets, nice!! Granted there was brochures he should have suggested to take first, not after. Everyone just wants to make sure they get on the damn shuttle. The ride is rough. ITs a bus moving through a narrow road so i dont blame them, but our driver was moving a little too fast, making us sick. BLAH! read more

Nothing short of a complete sh$t show. Our bus reservation was for 1:30-2:00 to get to the park which takes 30 minutes. They supposedly run every 15-20 minutes but we waited in line for over 40 minutes. Half the people didn't know anything about times or the fact you had to pay once you arrived to the park. Plan ahead for your trip to Muir Woods and DEFINITELY take the shuttle if you are planning on going on a weekend during peak times. $3 pp roundtrip, no change given - don't be bougie, this isn't a town car or a taxicab in a metropolitan area, it's a public bus, and one that, in my experience, does its job pretty well when I went a couple Saturdays ago. Drops you off at the entrance to the park and makes trips every half an hour. Plush, clean seats. On time. And, echoing Josephine L's review, seriously the ONLY logical mode of transportation to the woods, because of their limited parking space. Don't be that one (of many) stubborn driver who waits in a line of cars for hours on end, or ends up parking along the road miles away. I chose Muir Woods as our destination for the day and had no idea the parking lot at the top would be full. I take it if I want princess parking I would have to leave at the crack of dawn to get it. That's not happening. Have no fear, the Muir Woods Shuttle appeared. Along with the freeway signs that say the parking lot at the top is full, they also kindly direct you with numerous signs to where the shuttle picks up. I found the signage helpful and the location convenient being right off the highway. A few facts that will help if you decide on the shuttle: -$5 per person for the roundtrip fare -You pay at the top with the entrance fee to the park. Keep the receipt; it will be your ticket back on the bus -30 minute drive each way -Busses run every 10-15 minutes It's worth the $5 to get dropped off right at the entrance of the park and brought right back to your car when you're ready to leave. On the day we choose to go to the park people were parking 3+ miles away from the entrance to the park and walking. In fact, when we were leaving a woman and child were seeking assistance from our bus drive because they couldn't find dad and the other child who went to go park the car - they must have gotten lost on their three mile trek to the park (see, they should've taken the shuttle). The shuttle drivers are knowledgeable and do a great job of navigating the treacherous twisty roads. If you get nauseous on bumpy rides you may want to bring something to take the edge off. I don't get sick and even I had some minor issues with nausea during the drive back to our car. I would rather take the bus than try to make the drive myself, saves on anxiety and parking frustration. I would gladly take the shuttle again. read more

If I could, I would give this shuttle 10 stars, if only to offset the other reviews that give a, frankly, unreasonable and unfair 1-star rating to this shuttle. It's $3 round trip, it saves you the headache of finding parking in that very limited parking lot by the park entrance, and it only takes about 20-25 minutes from the Pohono Street Park & Ride pick-up spot, where you can get FREE parking. What's not to like? I think that's pretty damn awesome. The shuttle doesn't need to give you change or take credit cards; I have never heard of a public bus in this country that gives change or takes credit cards, so all the complaints about the shuttle not giving change/taking cards are just ridiculous. Have you never taken a bus before? Also, I found the bus staff to be quite nice and friendly, and the ride was just fine and at a safe speed. The seats are super clean and soft, and I approved of the choice of music on the ride (Mariah! Holla!). We didn't even have to wait for the bus. If you Google the schedule, you'll find that it comes every half an hour, on the hour and half hour, and indeed our shuttle was prompt both to and from the park. There were no long lines, and everything was orderly. Now, I can see how things could get kinda crazy on a holiday weekend, but maybe y'all could avoid super long waits by showing up 10-15 minutes before the pick-up time during busy weekends. Anyway, the shuttle is awesome and convenient, the pricing is VERY cheap and fair, and it's a great service. 10 stars (well, really, I'm gonna give it 5 stars from me, the other 5 stars are purely to pull up the star-average, which is just absurdly low). read more

We made reservations ahead of time for 6 people on the shuttle bus to go to Muir Woods at the Pohono Street Park and Ride. The gentleman that handles the people getting on to the bus gave away one of our reservations so we were only allowed 5 seats. My family had to squish into our seats so one more person could fit on the bus. It made for a very uncomfortable and upsetting ride to Muir Woods. My kids pushed, shoved and yelled at each other the whole way, plus my daughter puked on the bus because she felt confined. 5 stars just because if I had to drive those roads on my own, Lord knows there'd have been a news story about my rental car splintering into a million pieces as it landed at the bottom of those mountains. That had to be one of the scariest rides of my life!!! Turns and winding roads with no guardrails! I'm nauseous just thinking about it. In fact, I was very nauseous on the ride there and back. This is heavily advertised on the Muir Woods website as a great alternative to the summer parking chaos at the Park itself. A complete joke. The shuttle schedule online shows the shuttle running during the week during late June at the Pohono park and ride. Dozens of us waited for almost an hour before someone called only to find out the shuttle wasn't running during the week. So we went to the Marin pick up and when the shuttle arrived we were told it was full. That's right....the shuttle stopped, all seats were already taken, no standing was allowed and the shuttle drove off leaving 8 of us stranded. I finally drove to the Muir Woods Park, endured the parking, but even the long walk to the visitor center was a drop in the bucket compared to the time wasted waiting for the "shuttles." read more

Maybe they've changed management, because our experience was all positive. $5 for a roundtrip tortuous drive between Sausalito ferry terminal and Muir Woods - you can't beat that. We caught the second last shuttle to the woods on a Sunday, at 3pm, which might explain the lack of crowds. It's about 50 minutes each way, and I can't imagine driving or biking these roads myself unless I was really experienced with curves and hills. Not to mention, the parked cars stretched out at least a mile from the entrance. The drivers are professional, punctual, and gave all the information you need. They're used to tourists, but not jaded or rude at all. This is definitely THE low-stress way to go to Muir Woods! read more

Wow.... after reading these reviews I was scared for my life to take this shuttle but these reviewers might have lost their mind... or they might be procrastinators who wait until 2pm to go to a National Forest that attracts hundreds of tourists a day.... We arrived at 10:30 am to take the shuttle. There was no wait to get on the bus. Yes, the cash thing is a little ridiculous. They are definitely pocketing a crap load of money... so bring EXACT CHANGE. The ride up was fine. It seems like the bus driver is driving fast but he really isn't. I am a baby when it comes to heights and not driving (control freak) but this really wasn't as bad as the other reviewers made it sound. The most important thing: parking at Muir Woods is near impossible... Unless you are a horrible parent who makes their young children walk along the ride next to cars on an uphill narrow road. That is not the right option! Take the shuttle, it's $3 a person and well worth it. read more

The signs off the 101S to Muir Wood Shuttle lead you to a park and ride lot - which is fine, but then you have to cross the street, walk under the overpass (uneven sidewalks so be careful, I totally tripped and wiped out) to the actual shuttle parking lot. Needless to say, we moved our car since we had a nice early start. Parking lot is in the Shoreline Office Center - there are blue signs all over indicating that this is the right parking area. This is for the Pohono stop. We got there at 8:15am. There was one other family waiting and they said the shuttle was supposed to be there around 9:05am. We waited... And watched people trickle in. But closer to 9am the parking lot was full and everyone was milling around one side of the lot. Getting a little concerned, I tried to find out online where the shuttle picked up... And how big was the shuttle?! One review said 22 seats! What?! There was no way, with all these people, there would be any order once the shuttle arrived. Not wanting to get pushed aside and miss the the shuttle, I wandered around and saw another family waiting at the other end of the lot. Then a white van drove up behind me and EVERYONE started running. Fortunately, I made it to the "line" and was able to secure a spot for my family as well as for the one family that was waiting in the lot before us. So where is the line supposed to start? By the overpass. If you are in the lot, facing the overpass, there are porta potties to the left. I gather we were the first shuttle pick up because the guy in the white van set out cones and shouted out directions - so this probably made it easier for those who arrived later. $5/adult. Children 15 and under ride free. Shuttle probably carried 50ppl - no standing allowed. Not everyone got on. You don't pay until you get to the park. Keep your receipt as it is your ticket back. We wondered if all this was worth it but once you drive up and see the chaos, you will be so glad you did. And they drop you off right at the entrance :). This is why I give it 4 stars. But if we had a late start, and wound up waiting hours, watching several shuttles go by, I probably would give less than 4 stars. So, lesson of the day - go early!! read more

My friend and I opted to take the Muir Shuttle from Pohono Park and Ride (route 66). You will need to drive through the parking lot going past Glassdoor to get to the specific spots reserved for the shuttle, which will also be closer to where the shuttle stop is located. For the 9:05am first departure of the day, the bus arrived around 9am. The sign isn't clear where the bus will actually pick you up so there was some delay in having everyone board the shuttle. Once on board, our driver explained that the shuttle was $5 roundtrip and you pay when you get to the visitor center. There are only 37 seats per shuttle and they will arrive every 10-20 minutes (depending on the traffic up to and back down from the visitor center). When we arrived at the visitor center all of the spots were taken and people were parking on the side of the road already about a mile away from the entrance (note: this was a Saturday morning on what started to be a pretty cloudy day). Make sure to save your receipt for the roundtrip shuttle! This is your ticket to get back onto the shuttle when you leave! There are clear signs at the visitor center to direct you to the correct shuttle (Pohono Park and Ride vs. Sausalito). We left the park around 2:00pm and there was already a shuttle waiting at the entrance. Upon boarding, the shuttle was already mostly full, so we waited perhaps 5 minutes before we took off. Unsure how long other passengers had been waiting before the bus left. On our way down the mountain, we saw 2 additional shuttles for Pohono Park and Ride on their way up to the visitor center, so the 10min intervals seemed pretty accurate. Upon arrival back to the parking lot, there were still parking spots available in the lot! Overall the Muir Shuttle made getting to and from the park really easy! 5 stars for the trip going to muir woods, but 2 stars for the trip going back to the shuttle station. Getting to muir woods was great, plenty of parking, and when we arrived there was a bus waiting for us. The total time of the trip was about 30 to 35 minutes. Also, seeing how many cars were parked on the side, I figured it was worth taking the shuttle. Coming back to the shuttle parking lot on the other hand wasn't too good. For us actually, we got lucky and only had to wait about 30 minutes for the bus to arrive. But other folks in front of us told us they had waited over 1 HOUR for the bus. Even though they claim a bus should arrive every 15 to 30 minutes. The time we left was around closing time at around 7 to 730pm. My thinking is during peak times there are more buses, and during late hours, just 2 or even 1 bus going back and fourth. Came here on a Saturday. The person manning the shuttle stop told us it'd be a 10 minute wait. We ended up waiting for 30 minutes. On the way back it took a whole 30 minutes to get back to our parking structure! Was disappointing for sure. They also lack parking and we had to park in a reserved area. Luckily it was the weekend and nobody from Glassdoor was working. read more

Completely worth it during the busy season. I don't know how these drivers do it with crazy drivers parking their cars partly on the road and bicycles around every corner. Totally professional and worth the wait at each end of the trip. Check their website to plan ahead. read more

Round trip on Dec 29, with driver John was GREAT! Very good driving AND patience . I really enjoyed the trips and would take this shuttle to/from Sausalito rather than drive the car. Much more relaxing and not problem parking; especially with John. read more

So, you arrive and you wait 30-60 minutes for a 30 minute shuttle ride. The drivers are rather pleasant. The ride itself is picturesque and relaxing. For the $5 round trip, it is GREAT. They drop you off either at Pohonos OR the Sausalito ferry terminal. On the way back, same deal with the wait time. So, expect to wait BUT save a bit of money and on your own schedule. read more

I was not impressed at all. We stood in line for almost an hour to pick up the shuttle, and waited for another hour at the park to take it back. The driver was rude going to the park. On the ride back, the shuttle didn't even drop off where we parked and picked up the shuttle earlier... Definitely not good when you are touring with seniors with mobility restrictions. As nice as Muir Woods is, if the shuttle is the only option to get there, don't do it. It was a huge waste of valuable vacation time. read more

Used this shuttle service in a whim when visiting Muir Woods and was pleasantly surprised. Not only did I not have to worry about parking but the driver navigated the windy roads for me Price now is $5 per person which is worth the hassle but with the amount of people using the service a bit high. Also the windy roads in a bus left me a bit road sick. Recommend to anyone going during peak times read more

I echo the previous reviewer's statements. Granted, we visited during Labor Day weekend, however, we waited approximately 1 hour for the shuttle and the process was EXTREMELY inefficient - definitely over 100 people waiting for the shuttle, and the employees still fumbled around trying to count us out onto the shuttle that held ~ 40 people. On the way back - same thing. Unfortunately, the shuttle was still probably better than driving - people parked probably 3/4 mile away from the park, haphazardly along the winding road. Can't a more efficient process be developed? Can shuttles run more frequently than every 20 min?? There must be a better way... read more

I don't usually leave yelp reviews (my bad), but I wanted to leave one this time because the low reviews on yelp almost made me not use this service, but I'm glad I did! We decided to go to Muir Woods during the busy thanksgiving holiday weekend. I had read there are only 150 parking spots on site and most people park on the shoulder and walk up to 3 miles to the park entrance. We decided to try the shuttle service and hope for the best. It was SO easy. We drove our car to the Pohono Street Park and Ride Lot where there were lots of free parking spaces (no charge). The shuttle was there waiting for us. We hopped on and drove 30 mins and was dropped off right in front of the visitor center. When we paid our entrance fee we also paid for our return shuttle tickets (tickets for shuttle are $5 round trip per person). When we were ready to leave, we waited maybe 5 minutes before the shuttle arrived and dropped us off right by our car. The $5 a person was totally worth the hassle of trying to find parking spots. read more
