PERFECT! I got thick, bushy, Egyptian brows. I have been to places all over the east/south bay, and NEVER have I had my brows look not only perfect, but perfect for me! She's really sweet, kinda quiet, and takes her time... I let my brows grow out for a good two-months (yikes) so I could let her have something to work with. She kept my natural shape, just cleaned it up a bit... AHHHH it looks great. At first I thought $20 for threading was OUTRAGEOUS, but this is most definitely worth it. Alresa is dooope. Check her out! read more

I had never had my brows done before, but I wanted to get mine done and read about this place on yelp. I have to say, Alresa threaded my brows very nicely and now everyone always notices and compliments me. She makes you feel secure and relaxed. This is a good place for a newbie to the brow shaping thing. Tips: Book way in advance. She's very popular. Also, she's typically on time - none of that waiting around forever to be seen so arrive promptly. read more

This is it, you have discovered the best eyebrow bar/joint/place in the Bay. This shop truly lives up to it's name. Alresa is the hidden power behind my perfectly shaped and tinted eyebrows. You only need one visit to either of her shops to know that she has perfected the art of the brow. No more walking out of a salon thinking "Oh no too thin," or "OMG I look like Groucho Marx!" No, no, not here, Cloud 9 has gained my trust, ensuring that I will come out of the shop with perfect looking eyebrows every time. read more

Alresa revived by eyebrows. She maintains your natural shape and listens to what you are going for.

Let's face it...getting waxed is right up there with getting a cavity filled...or worse! Alresa is fantastic!! She makes the whole experience less painful and erases all of your bad memories of 'waxing gone wrong.' I recommend booking online and in advance because she fills up fast. read more

I was finally able to confirm all the positive reviews that this place has received. I was very happy with the job that Alresa did with my eyebrows. I was a bit concerned that she was going to make my eyebrows too thin, but she did a nice job. She was very patient, too. I'm glad that I no longer need to go to the city to get my eyebrows done. read more

As a women, I have ALWAYS been very skeptical about allowing my facial hair grow TOO long before I go in and get is WAX off. Yet, I am also very sensitive to waxing but I SHUCK it, close my eyes, and pray that the pain eases over time. As much as I love my personal waxer, she's always on vacation and doesn't take appt, which means I generally sitting around forever until she gets to me. For those of you who are LOYAL WAXERS, consider THREADING because it's painless (after the 1st minute) and overall a very interesting experiences. FYI: the threading process is NOSY because two threads are constantly rubbing against each other - my friends said the noise reminds her of someone modding your lawn. Here's more info on Threading: http://ezinearticles.com/?Threading-Hair-Removal---Fact-Sheet&id=322403 Overall, my word of advice: like mentioned by everyone....schedule an appt online - anticipate that they are booked at least 2 weeks ahead, tell her your FEAR to give her heads up, and arrive on time. read more

Got my brows done by Alresa and it was an ok experience. Alresa is what others have written here, which is nice and gentle. However, she shaped my brows unevened when she tinted them. She said that brows are not suppose to be the same shape which I agree to some extent, but I wasn't satisfied with them. First time threading and tinting and it was an experience I wont regret but i usually do my own brows, which I won't change. read more

Alresa is a great calm presence which is fantastic considering that shes pulling your hairs out one by one. Its crazy the things we do in the name of beauty. She's a brow perfectionist. That's alright by me, because I am super lazy about plucking and maintenance, and you can never get that gorgeous smooth eyebrow look when plucking at home. Things end up all bald and lumpy like a plucked chicken. Before you realize it one eyebrow is Marlene Dietrich while the other is Joan Crawford, back and forth you go trying to even things out between the two until you have the kind of eyebrows that make children on the street scream. So Alresa the brow guru/ warrior saves the day in her cute little shop. As soon as she puts on the interrogation light, i know ill walk out with a great set of brows, albeit surrounded by giant swollen red puffy area. read more

Alresa is a super sweet person and a super skilled esthetician. I've been seeing her for brow threadings for a couple of months now, and even as I've moved out of the neighborhood, I can't imagine myself going anywhere else. read more

I had a bikini wax and was very impressed by this small woman-owned business. Not only is Alresa professional, thorough, and knowledgeable, she also has a very soothing and friendly demeanor. I felt really comfortable and at ease. Probably one of the best wax services I've had. read more

I have been goin to Alresa for over a year now and she is amazing. I would never let anyone else ever touch my eyebrows. She is very professional, kind and takes her time. My eyebrows are always on point. I cant recommend her enough. read more

this woman has got it going ON! i haven't had a bikini wax in a few years (of course i have been maintaining, just not with wax). when you're laying on a table with nothing but a thong and a t-shirt on, you want to make sure that you're SUPER comfortable with the person who is...well...all up in your very private areas. let me just say that i have NEVER been so comfortable. we chatted away and before i knew it she was all done. and the best part about it is that i have no bumps! i have very sensitive skin and every time i shave or get waxed it takes at least a week for the redness and bumps to go away. not anymore! i will definitely come back to cloud nine. read more

If I could give Alresa 10 stars I would!! It's always nerve wracking to trust your brows to a new person, but Alresa does not disappoint! She's the sweetest and the best at what she does. I've been going to cloud nine for about 2 years now, and I don't think I ever want to trust anyone else! Even after moving out of Oakland, I still make the drive down to get threaded; and it's definitely worth the drive! I recommend booking a week or two in advance especially if you're on a tight schedule because she does fill up quickly! But she's great at staying on schedule, being attentive, and as painless as eyebrow threading can be! You'll walk out feeling like a new person...I always do! read more

If you're looking for a place with great service and a friendly owner/staff, well my friends, you've found it here. Not only does Alresa do a great facial/threading, but she is one of the nicest people I know. She takes great care of you and is a very cool chick! Highly recommended!! read more

Hands down my favorite waxer in the East Bay. Alresa is sweet and easy going, making the whole experience of waxing...um...whatever it is you need cleaned up a very positive experience. I've never felt uncomfortable on her waxing table. She's been doing some redecorating of the room lately, which is very nice, new paint, new lighting. Leave a message on her machine and she'll get back to you within a day. My only suggestion is the addition of a little relaxing music. read more

I have been going to Alresa for almost 6 years. I swear by her. My brows are perfect and well maintained because of her! =) I get my brows threaded because my skin is so sensitive and waxing was just way too rough for my skin type. She does an amazing job and is always so accommodating. She always does her best to fit me in (if you come last minute, that is). I was holding back on writing a review because I want to keep her all to myself! lol But just had to share how incredible she really is. If you want celebrity perfect brows go to Cloud nine or the Brow Lounge (Alresa's other location). I take my 16 year old sister to see her now and would never think to take her anywhere else. I love you Alresa!!! =D read more

I cannot recommend this place, or Alresa, enough. I have been seeing Alresa for over six or seven years. Anyone who finds waxing unpleasant should definitely try threading. I have my brows threaded and my brows ad eyelashes tinted, and I could not be happier. The threading is quick and my brows look amazing. The biggest advantage of threading over waxing (and there are many) is that you can leave an appointment and be ready to go. There are no red areas or puffiness. If you are looking for great brow shaping see Alresa! read more

I had my 1st Brazilian Wax and it was AWESOME!!!! And I'm not just saying that it was cool it didn't hurt too bad it was quick and Alresa is AMAZING!!!!! I went in super scared and ended up getting my under arms waxed too. I already booked my next appointment. read more

Alresa from Cloud Nine is a true artist! I absolutely loved my aesthetician in Austin, TX, so I was so sad to have to break up with her. After reading Yelp reviews, I landed on Alresa and am so happy I did! I have sparse Asian eyebrows, but Alresa was able to shape my little brows into the beautiful, thick brows that I've always wanted and are so trendy now. I also have sensitive skin, so her offering threading is a plus! Additionally, Alresa is super thoughtful. I see her once a month, and she always remembers little details about things I talked about four weeks ago. The only thing I wish Cloud Nine had was a more convenient appointment system. Currently, she uses an online service, which is definitely accessible, but it's month-to-month. I wish there were a way to book recurring appointments, which would benefit me since I go monthly. read more

I have been seeing Alresa for eight years now and wouldn't change a thing. She is a master at brows, and at this point I would trust them to no one else. While I'm not the biggest fan of waxing in general, she is is extremely efficient, keeping any pain to an absolute minimum, and I am in and out in no time. She knows I like the soothing effects of witch hazel so she always gives me a little for the road, which I always appreciate! I have never felt that Alresa was distracted or that I ever had anything less than her full attention during my appointments. I always feel respected to the fullest, and I appreciate the effort she goes through to make sure each and every one of her clients feels as comfortable as possible. The price can't be beat and the location is incredibly convenient, right off the freeway. If you're looking for a new place for brows, I can't recommend Cloud Nine enough! read more

Aleersa is an eyebrow ARTIST! She knows exactly how to shape them to make your eyes and face look their best. She has been threading my eyebrows and other facial areas in need of hair removal for almost 10 years and she is always super friendly, pleasant and professional.I really really appreciate that she is always on time with all of her appointments - no waiting ever. She is popular and can be hard to book on the fly, but can sometimes find time if you are willing to be flexible. But really, plan ahead!! read more

It was my first FULL FACE THREADING experience and I am so so so IMPRESSED with the results!!!!!!!!! I am a light Mexican with Dark Thick Facial Hair & I've tried face creams/waking and it just really damaged my skin (temporary acne, burn marks, discomfort). Now my skin is extremely smooth and there is NOT 1 facial hair in sight!!!!!!! I will be going back to her when the time comes!!!! read more

Hands down the first time i got my brows done and left happy!!! Soo happy !!! She really knows what she's doing!!

I'm a professional makeup artist and esthetician and I wouldn't go to anyone else for perfect eyebrows.

Good work, but lack of communication and stuck up-ness of the employees turned me down, also holly mother jesus!!! 20 dollars for 5 minutes work?!!!!! I think they just charge you for their efficiency but 20 dollars is a little too much. A mean more than a little, it's just TOO much. read more

Alresa is my girl. I've been seeing her for over four years now and every time she waxes or threads my eyebrows I get compliments on them. Yes, from other Aestheticians even! She is a gorgeous person, friendly, accommodating with appointment times, very professional and meticulously hygienic! I have recommended her to all of my friends and yes, they all love her as well! If only she were in the city, sigh, we could be best friends and do lunch, too! read more

Ok, so i was skeptical because I'm a skeptic and I'm super Super SUPER picky about my brows, mainly because of all of the horrible experiences and the fact that they're naturally 'sparse' and therefore, require a delicate touch. So, since there were so many 5 star reviews, i tried Alresa to the dismay of my friend who insisted that 20 bucks was waaay too much to pay for threading and a week was waaay too long to wait for an appointment, to which I said 'but it's my brows and I'll pay for perfection'... And I did. This woman somehow managed to make my brows look even thicker than they did when I walked in the door (huge plus for the brow deficient) and the shape and definition were flawless. Even the aforementioned friend was impressed. And this little 'cutty' place that I had passed without seeing more than a few times had a really nice and welcoming atmosphere. I love my brows! Thanks yelpers, I will return (and I usually don't). And now, a word of advice. Call ahead, it takes a while to get an appointment. Leave a message instead of calling repeatedly, she will call you back. And enjoy. read more

For years, I had the best brow shaper in the Bay Area. Alas, she had to go to nursing school far, far away and I had to go aesthetician shopping again. It was a very stressful period of time. Finally, in desperation, I found Yelp and Cloud Nine. I could not believe the sheer volume of good reviews for Alresa, the brow taming goddess. I had to try it out for myself. Now, I'm not a street parker, but Alresa is worth it. I might have to circle once or twice to find a spot that does not freak me out, but it is not a terrible parking experience. When I had my first appointment with her right as she opened in the morning, I had to wait a couple minutes for her to show, which was fine, and then another minute for her to setup (also fine). I was not sure what to think of her then. She was really sweet, but I felt as if I was in the presence of a celebrity; Yelp had made her so. She took some time to do a consult with me that was fabulous! I told her of the horrible experiences I had with others and she calmed my trepidation immediately. She said exactly what I needed to hear to trust her and I gave my excess over to her care. When she waxed, it felt like she pressed a finger to my skin and then removed it. I did not feel any tugging or stinging. It was great! She took her time, but I was totally okay with that because she is a great conversationalist and is so sweet. Her bedside manner is just incredible. I felt so comfy and even less like an intimidated Sasquatch (with the amount of hair I think I have) than I usually do. The next time, I saw her, she remembered our first conversation. I know she has fifty million clients, yet she went into details that even I could not remember. That is customer service. She did a little bit of treading on top of the waxing. I walked out with fabulous brows. I was able to make my next appointment in person. This is good because the online appointment system is crazy for people like me who like to book ten years in advance. She gets booked quickly so it is always a special task making sure I can fit her in to my busy, busy schedule. I feel like gushing whenever I think about her. She is good. She is nice. She is professional. Thank you, Yelp! Oh yeah, and not be all -ist or anything, but I love that she is a minority woman business owner! read more

I do not like having bald eyebrows, it just looks funny on me. That, and I break out after a waxing/threading. After seeing all of the great reviews I thought I'd give Cloud None a shot. Alresa (sp?) was really nice and personable and made me feel comfortable. she asked me if I wanted them waxed or threaded. She recommended threading because I am pregnant. She did an amazing job and didn't make my eyebrows bald! And I didn't break out one tiny bit (unlike the $50 lip threading I got off Hayes St)! And a few weeks later my eyebrows still looked good! read more

I highly recommend Alresa! I went to her as an eyebrow virgin and she made my threading experience as comfortable as possible. Sweet, funny, talented, and professional. read more

It's four years later (WOW time flies) and I'm still making the trek to Oakland to see Alresa. She's just as wonderful as always. A true professional! I've added eyebrow threading to my visits and I love the results. I have extremely sensitive skin and waxing my eyebrows meant I had to go straight home and stay in for the night. I have a lot less irritation with the threading although the process takes a bit longer, therefore a little more traumatic (maybe I should cut down on the caffeine). The end results however, are wonderful! Love her! read more

Alresa is an ARTIST! She's detailed and really takes her time with you. She's also so sweet and completely stunning. I love it when someone really takes pride in their work, especially if the work involves my eyebrows! read more

Alresa is awesome! She was funny, great to talk to, and took my mind off the fact that I was meeting her and having her remove hair from my vagine for the first time. She does a great job, and did my underarms too. I wish that I didn't have to book appointments so far out, but ah well, it's really no big deal. She usually has something available in a few weeks, so book it when you see stuff start to grow in, and you're good. read more

Alresa was wonderful. She answered every question I had and she did such an awesome job with my eyebrows that I got compliments from friends and family. She was also sweet and worked with me when I got afraid of threading and asked her to start waxing halfway through. I'd recommend her! read more

Moved to the Bay over a year ago and that is about how long it took me to get over my fear of a new waxer. Hey, this is about as personal in the gooming department as you can get. So imagine the mess I was before I came to Alresa. She was so sweet and cute and fast (big points for that). Will definitely be going back soon!!! read more

Make your appointment now. Alresa is great, totally worth the wait. My eyebrows were perfect and I have never had a better brazilian experience. I will definitely be back. read more

alreesa is one of the best people to go to for waxes. she friendly, personable, genuinely cares about getting to know you AND is mos definitely awesome at what she does. this is a super plus in my book. i've been to many waxers that are good at what they do, but they rush through your appointment without a bit of chit chat. although you leave all nice and groomed, it makes you feel like a cheap date. my preference is to have a least the courtesy 10 minute spoon time - thanks much! i've moved so it's not really possible to go to alreesa anymore but she's definitely a gem. read more

Alresa is great! I have been going to her for brow threading for maybe two years now. She is friendly and warm. And most importantly, she is skilled at threading brows. I have never had brow threading before I went to see her and was a bit nervous the first time. But she worked fast and it was totally bearable. She also spends time to discuss what you want done and also offers her opionion. She also tells you clearly what how the brows will look like. Now, brow threading is like getting a haircut, an absolute essential in my beauty routine. It makes a big difference to have well shaped and clean brows! read more

Alresa is the best! She's efficient, skilled, and professional. As a major plus, she's extremely sweet and makes you feel very comfortable. She's the only person I know who can make a waxing or threading session minimally painful, dare I say enjoyable. Plan ahead - her schedule fills up, but she does her best to fit you in. And at reasonable prices, you can't do much better than Cloud Nine or The Brow Lounge! read more
