This place is interesting. It is in the location Pho Thanh used to be and has a modern/hipster chic decor. Relatively small number of menu offerings which are mostly Vietnamese dishes. I had the large combo pho (Dac Biet) for $10.50. It's not on the menu for some reason but they made it for me. The meat was good quality with the exception of the tendon. The vegetables were good quality. The broth was ok but lacked depth and complexity. Not as good as Pho Thanh. Portion size was good but at $10.50 it better be. Overall it was a good but not great bowl of pho. Service was good. It's a new spin on Vietnamese food similar to Bambuza and targeting Millenials. I prefer a more traditional Little Saigon look and feel and menu so not a great option for me but will probably work for others. read more

Had some decent pho, some pretty good banh mi, but the Taro bubble tea I had was the worst. The ice was not fully blended - there were large chunks of ice in it - and the boba was flavorless and mostly clumped together so it could not go up the straw. Boba should be sweet and delicate, not like this. I ordered it through Uber eats and the drink came in an unsealed, open-too style cup too.. that is not cool. It looks like people have just touched fruit in the bins and painted the walls and touch the counters. Obviously there's no clean stainless steel . BLEACH is your friend! Especially when you're dealing with any type of fruit, and I know from experience because I've ran smoothie bars and juice bars and restaurants before. This is just nasty! They need some serious cleaning training from the management, and if the management isn't cleaning then the owners need to get in there because when the health department comes through. This used to be my go to for pho. And I especially loved the veggie pho. But today I went and it was watery. Very little taste or noodles and no mushrooms. Which was a main ingredient. Very sparse on the veggies. I asked where the mushrooms were they said the market doesn't have any. Hmmmm weird cause every market I go to does. I think the quality of the broth has way declined. Sad cause I used to like to support this small business. But I need to find a new pho favorite. They did give me 10% off. But honestly. It was tasteless and not worth the 12.53 I paid. my fiancé and i came here one night when it was not too busy. after months of passing by and wondering about this restaurant we finally made the decision to come in and check it out. to be honest, we were deterred by the bad reviews we read about this place, but vietnamese cuisine is not easily messed up. we were the only ones there, and we were greeted very warmly. our waitress was very sweet despite being seated with her own family (we assume it is a family run restaurant as most pho corners are). the inside of the restaurant is beautiful, the atmosphere is absolutely friendly and inviting. the place looks clean and smells clean. i think the way they set up their menu is very simple and easy to order from. their pho does not bombard you with various bowls of the same broth with different meats. instead, you get to pick your meats (up to four kinds) and decide the size. pho was pretty good. i also ordered salad rolls as well, which were simply delicious. peanut sauce was very tasty as well. read more

We came across this place during our trip to Portland and I have to say the wings is by far the best compared to all the Korean wings places we had been having in LA, California. It came with 3 large wings but it was actually 3 drumsticks plus 3 wings. It had a perfect crunchiness with a Vietnamese "zing" sauce. We also tried the Pad Thai and it was so savory on its own. Their home-made hot sauce just made it even more delicious to eat it with. I was also impressed of how well the drink tasted. I had the lemon-grass citrus refresh. It was just the icing on the cake - a fruity, refreshing drink after meal. I will certainly recommend to anyone visiting Portland to try out this place. I visited the restaurant on a business trip during Covid. It was actually the night before their opening. New owners had taken over and they worked feverishly on the decor to complete it before the opening. I walked in (that's what they get for not locking the door!) not knowing they weren't open for business yet. I was greeted with surprise and kindness. They immediately swung into action and made me a to go order. I order the rare beef pho and a smoothie. I took it back to my hotel room. The pho was exceptional. The stock was rich and flavorful. If fact, some of the better stock I've had in any pho restaurant! The beef was tender and of higher quality than most pho restaurants. The sprouts and cilantro were fresh and crisp. I've been to over 19 Pho places around Vancouver & Portland. Not only am I impressed by the beautiful remodel but the quality of the service and food has been one of the BEST I've had. A simple yet tasteful display of spring rolls presented as our appetizer and given the option to choose up to four meats to add into my Pho? The pho is probably the best around the area/neighborhood, however, I haven't had much else besides their banh mi and boba tea. I ordered delivery on both occasions. I ordered the special combo and bbq pork banh mi. Good flavor, not too hard of bread, but a little dry. They gave us some sauces I was unfamiliar with but it helped a bit. I also ordered the boba tea cause the lady and I have been craving it. Got the taro flavor and when it arrived I took a look and right off the bat I can see it was watered down. I took a sip and it was mostly ice... idk about ya'll but I like a mixed/blended boba tea that is a SMOOTHIE. Not an slushed/iced out tea. That's not real. Needless to say we didn't enjoy it but I finished it anyway cause I wasn't gonna waste my money. :) I wouldn't order it again though. Nope. Like others I was came to this restaurant before it changed owners and I loved it. So......I ordered Chicken Pad Thai. It was fresh, uhhhhh..... But the flavors were no less than bizarre. It was wet, they used chicken thigh which I am not "normally" used to, and very, very, very little of it at that. I ordered medium spicy but it had no discernable heat at all and it was just... gross. Sorry. I didn't want to give a bad review, the portion was great, but it was inedible. PS. We did not have to wait to be seated but the service was ultimately deplorable. The prices were very comparable with other local venues. We were very disappointed in the service and quality. Second time ordering from here. First time I got a few appetizers, a blended taro tea with honey boba, and a lychee tea with popping boba. The appetizers were alright--all hot and freshly made but pretty average in flavor. I was disappointed by the crab rangoon; did not see or taste any crab (real or imitation) It just tasted like it was stuffed with plain cream cheese. My blended taro boba wasn't blended well; it had a lot of ice chunks and was a little watery, but the black honey boba was delicious! The lychee tea with popping boba was also delicious. This time around I got another blended taro bubble tea with the honey boba. It was much better consistency and flavor this time, blended perfectly. However, the boba was white (I've never seen white boba, not sure if it makes any difference) but this time around and extremely undercooked/hard making the drink undrinkable. Not sure if its a full 5 star place since I don't live here, but we spotted the place while driving to my sister-in-laws and decided to pick her up and take her there, her first time to eat pho. I ordered pho tai chin, my sister ordered a special meal (#28) and my sister-in-law went with the pho chicken. The broth was super flavorful with no overpowering salt. The meat to noodle balance was good. I ate 1/2 my bowl before adding a little hoison that's how tasty it was. Restaurant is new, opened only 3 weeks or so. Nicely decorated and clean. Service was good. Prices a bit higher than Vegas, but $9 for a small (big) bowl of pho is still a good price. Looking forward to going back a couple more times. My sister-in-law fell in love with pho....so she is hooked now and ready to go back. read more

So I have gone here twice and with multiple people to order Pho. The broth is okay and the noodles are okay. The bowl is good but is definitely not great. A large bowl would run you about $10.50. However, my GREATEST complaint is that they do not put enough meat on their simple Tai (beef) orders. I would have to order an extra side of meat (additional $2) for about 8 extra slices of beef. Only then, was there a good proportion of noodles to broth to meat. To note, this is a comparison to Pho restaurants that I've grown up to in California (really amazing!). So overall, the ingredients are good, but $12.50 for a "good" bowl of pho is too much when compared to other places where the prices would be between 8-10 for great Pho. As for the Bo Luc Lac, it is cooked all the way through. I have not asked for it to be cooked medium rare (as I normally like to have it at) but I shall try next time. Even though it's cooked all the way through, the meat is still soft and tender. Seasoning is decent and I think this is a pretty good dish for $13. Instead of white jasmine rice, I would prefer if they had the red tomato rice as an option. read more
