Made by individuals that take great pride in their work, which is visible in the quality of their products. They do it all, in home designs, manufacturing, shipping and installation. Having their own installation team ensures the projects are installed consistently and correctly. No matter the size of project i feel this company can get the job done right! I have shopped The Container Store for years and they offer multiple lines of closet and storage solutions that fit many budgets, which makes it a great value for any budget. You'll find they not only offer closets, but they have a line of garage organization systems. The quality of the garage systems is spot on. Very good quality! While visiting one of the Chicago area stores, I saw they even have wooden wine racks, work from home office spaces and many more specialized custom spaces. I love their latest lighting storage solutions as well. Very innovative! Great value and a fun place to shop. The stores staff are always friendly and welcoming. We ordered a media center and a closet organizer for our new home a total price that is in the $6.000 range, for reference. Our "designer" (Patti) was not great to work with, talked a mile a minute, repeatedly spoke over us and had no follow up skills once the contract was signed. In fact, I have never heard from her again, nor have I heard from anyone from Closet Works to date to discuss this situation despite multiple requests for someone in management to call me back. Our initial install date was on December 15th, 2021. On the install date, there were MANY issues the main ones are below, but there are several more more minor issues that need to be addressed: 1. The wall and the locations of the outlets were measured incorrectly forcing the installers to do cutouts to the boards between cabinet sections to accommodate outlets. -- This renders the outlets unusable since the drawers push against the outlets, forcing us to choose a smaller drawer box. 2. Missing parts to the overall design. 3. Incorrect holes drilled in doors for the knobs, forcing us to choose a different design with credit or reorder all 4 of the doors. 4. Other design issues or incorrect parts for the media center and closet. 5. Damage by the installers to our ceiling and floor. This is only the beginning of the lack of any actual customer service and professionalism by Closet Works, their owners or leadership. Once the installers discovered these issues, they told me to "contact our designer." Which I did, and she promptly sent me to voicemail. When she did call back, she was apparently in too much of a rush to speak to me, so asked me to send her an email with all of the issues and pictures and "she would get it taken care of." Fast forward a few weeks (4 weeks to be exact), we had not heard anything. So I followed up with an email to our designer and received an email from the designer that stated "This is all my fault. I'm going to complete the order today. I've been sick then helping others sick. I'm so very sorry. " So ok, fine - I get it things happen. Two weeks later, I have still not heard anything definitive - so I called myself... I was directed to Amanda in service, who is apparently in charge of post install issues.. She informed me that she had not been made aware of any of these issues that needed to be corrected. We are now 6 WEEKS POST INITIAL INSTALLATION at this point. Amanda asked me to send pictures, make decisions about what needed to be done, which size drawers needed to be installed, etc., etc.. A point of note nobody has come back out to the house to look and see what needed to be done so if it's wrong again, that's on Closet works. I did, and guess what - I never heard from here again or any confirmation that we were moving forward. SO...here we are NOW 3 months+ post install and no resolution. We have been unable to use our TV and media center now for 3 months. But I did receive a call this week - stating they could come back on March 23rd and install / fix the items that needed to be addressed, a date that is 4+ months post install!!!! Are you serious??? I've called several times, asked to speak to a manager and never once received a call back, apology, or confirmation that they had started to fix the issues! Also, my floor and ceiling are still damaged and there has been no comment on those issues or indication of repair. It's not worth the trouble to save a few dollars, go somewhere else and save yourself the hassle. read more

Racism - recently a designer arrived at our home to take measurements, upon arrival an individual opened the door and the designer immediately said they have the wrong house, did they think they had the incorrect house because the individual who answered the door was black? The designer then texted to call her ASAP, to which I called her and she said again she must have had the wrong house, to which I said it was the correct house, then the designed asked if someone Black opened the door. Upon arriving again and meeting in the driveway to measure the garage, the designer asked if the individual was the cleaning lady or nanny. I would encourage anyone who is thinking about using Closet Works to seek out a competitor. Re to your response: your non-apology doesn't acknowledge the responsibility and facts. The claim there was any time between door bell ring and answer isnt supported by the doorbell camera. The designers first question after leaving was if the person answering was black and their first question upon meeting was if they were a "cleaning lady". How are those questions justifiable and not what my review suggests. read more

My closet designer Susan M was awesome. From start to finish, she was on time, she listened to all of my needs, made awesome suggestions and before she left, had a beautiful drawing of what her vision was for my closet. It was beautiful and nailed what I needed and exceeded my expectations. Her follow up was appreciated and the scheduling department was able to get my closet installed way sooner than expected. The installer was great and when all was said and done... my husband and I were blown away with the finished product. Every time we open our closet door it feels super special and so fancy. I cannot day enough great things about Closetworks or Sue. I will absolutely call them for our next project and want to scream it from the rooftops so everyone can have such an awesome closet. read more

What can I say? I was very close to using this company but I just couldn't get past the cost. I will say this though, Closet Works is definitely worth the money if you aren't handy or if you don't have enough time to do the work yourself. But if that's not the case, they're overpriced. Jaclyn, the saleswoman was incredible at her job. She came out to take measurements, talked about possibilities and then she and her team began designing. Every time I had a suggestion she had the new drawing as quick as possible. She honestly did a fantastic job. When I brought up my concern about the cost she didn't pressure me at all. She reminded me of the quality of work that they do and the fact that these were custom designs but that's it, no hassle. So, that said, I recommend them if you fall under the above reasons but if you're handy, make the time and do it yourself. Good luck! read more

Upping this review to 5 stars. So I just got my closets done this past Friday, per the review below, I was perfectly pleased except for the mishap with the installer arriving late. This morning (Monday) I get an email from the President thanking me for my review, apologizing for the installer arriving late and asking if he can do anything. Thanks Mike for emailing me, I really appreciate it, it's nice to know that important people are reading and appreciate honest reviews. So when I get home from work today, there are flowers on my doorstep - from Jose, the installer! In his note he apologized for the late start and said he hoped it didn't cause too much of an inconvenience. I am very impressed with this company and will gladly have them be the first to quote any future projects, and I will definitely be referring them to my friends that have any storage needs. read more

I realize my reviews are hyperbolic but I can't say enough good things about this company. I fancy myself one of those weekend warrior DIYers... I am not. I dream up big ideas about how to make my family's home convenient, organized, and beautiful but those dreams are largely unrealized because of a derth in time, skill, money or more than likely all of the above. After researching self-install closet solutions on everyone from Target to the Container Store to Overstock, I broke down and sent out a few bids to any site who popped in my Google search. (don't judge me for using Google... I'm picking the battles I can win at this point) Fast Closets designer, Jennefier, called me within 24 hours (I think it was even the same day). She was so matter-of-fact about her business that I almost trusted her outright... despite my highly skeptical consumer standing. She scheduled time to come to our house (HOORAY CONVENIENCE!), she didn't judge me for being a slack housekeeper (BLESSED ARE THE DISCREET!), and she didn't mock me for my incredulity when she outlined what was possible to organize my home's closets (seriously... that was important). In a couple of days, I had a quote and design from her. A couple of days after that I contracted the work, and scheduled the appointment. Within a week, I had two of Fast Closet's installers working on my home. They were unbelievably quick about their work. They were quiet (I work from home) and clean (swept and dusted after they finished). Our new closets are beautiful. I highly recommend the dark wood finish - it looks the richest. Fast Closets are the cheaper cousins of Closet Works but the same materials and lifetime guarantee. They have (I guess) fewer options but were PLENTY diverse for our needs. The convenience and speed with which this company transformed my closets made every penny of their modest price worthwhile. I love them and recommend without qualification. read more

I bought a shelving system for my laundry room from Closet Works over 5 years ago. In 2009, I remodeled and needed to move the shelving and replace one door that had gotten damaged. Closet Works came out and helped me to assess where to move the shelves so that they would fit in the best; then they moved them and also replaced that door, all for a very minimal cost. Last month, I decided that I wanted one additional basket for the shelving system, so I stopped by their facility, only to find out that they do not carry the baskets in inventory. Before I got home, I received a call from Greg Cetera, the designer, who offered to come out to my house with the basket. For one basket?! And he did - in fact he came today and spent some time helping me to figure out how to move my existing baskets to meet my needs - which eliminated the need for any new baskets. He then got out his drill and moved them for me, and even vacuumed up the sawdust - all at no charge! And with a big smile and happy attitude. This is customer service so far above and beyond that I barely have words enough to praise this company. Greg says that this philosophy comes right from Mike, the owner, and that's why Greg like working at Closet Works. Thank you, Greg and Mike, I appreciate it! And so will you. read more

I recently had my office re-done with Closet Works and I am extremely pleased with the results. The entire process was user-friendly. First, a designer arrived at my office and assisted me in finding out what I wanted to achieve with this design. She spent a ton of time measuring my office, existing computer equipment, etc. In addition, she offered great suggestions for improving my workflow and assisting me with picking materials (wood, colors, knobs, hardware, lighting, etc.). Less than a week later, she delivered detailed drawings to me for review and approval. Once I gave her the green light, Coset Works created my custom products and set up an install. The install was smooth, clean and easy. The installer was friendly and focused. The end result - a great office environment. I would highly recommend Closet Works to anyone looking for an exceptional experience in customized home/closet/office building. read more

Immediately contacted me kept me up to date on process emailed me and followed up was so knowledgeable on the products and what would fit where which I am not....Emilio came out and did WONDERFUL OVER THE TOP JOB on install, WOW WAS HE PERSONABLE TOO, these people really know their stuff. If I could give no starts I would. In late September 2020 after finding a picture on the Closet Works website of the exact closet I wanted, I called Closet Works from the Philadelphia area asking if they delivered to my area. I left my name and phone number. The person who called me back stated they worked for Closet Works but the number he left was a Philadelphia number. I called the original Closet Works phone number to confirm that the individual who called me was indeed from Closet Works. I spoke to Ted, the individual who handled the Philadelphia area. He confirmed that he provided my personal information to the individual in Philadelphia who represented Closet Works. With Ted's assurance I went ahead and worked with the local representative, designed my closet and paid for the closet. I was told 3 weeks until install, a date which came and went multiple times. Covid was the excuse. I was understanding at first about the delay. I was ultimately given an install date of January 4, 2021, which also came and went. At this point, I strongly expressed my dissatisfaction to the Philadelphia representative. He offered a refund. I agreed that the refund route was the best way to go. I did not receive the refund and after several assurance the check was in the mail by the Philadelphia representative, I called Ted back at Closet Works headquarters. He informed me, for the first time, that the Philadelphia representative was not an employee but an independent contractor and that the Philadelphia representative had never placed an order for my closet. Ted did place two or three calls to try to get the Philadelphia representative to refund the money but to no avail. I have still NOT received my refund nor my closet. The last message I received from Ted at Closet Works headquarter was that Closet Works is not responsible for the Philadelphia representative and would not be refunding to me any money that that individual stole from me. In a nutshell, Closet Works provided my personal data to an individual without my authorization, told me after I worked with him and paid him that he doesn't work for them, (even though they both indicated to me a he was their agent) and now won't refund the money that the agent stole from me. I am out over $3500 all because Closet Works won't stand behind the people that represent them. I didn't seek out the Philadelphia representative, Closet Works put him in my life and confirmed he represented them and now won't take responsibility. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. read more

Closet Works installed our closets 12 years ago during the construction of our new home. Our rep was Greg Cetera. They did a beautiful job of installing the closets, and they have performed quite well since then. Recently, we decided we needed more shelves, so we contacted Closet Works with the original installation numbers. We were pleasantly surprised to be contacted by Greg, still with the company, and who still had our drawings. He immediately put in an order for the additional shelves and had them less than a week later. Unfortunately, one of the shelves was damaged in transit. We notified Closet Works, and without question, immediately prepared and shipped another shelf which arrived without damage. The quality of the work is superb, and the customer service is outstanding. Would recommend them without reservation. read more

Horrible service. Waited almost 5 weeks for the installation. They were missing one cabinet door. I was told by one person it was missing and I was told by another it was damaged. The director of sales told me it would take about 9 days to order a new one. The next day they called and said the door was in. Someone was not telling the truth. I had cheaper quotes but I thought I'd go with them because usually you pay for what you get. What a mistake. Terrible customer service. Not flexible at all and rude people. Terrible service!! I waited almost three weeks for a proposal which I was told I would have within a week. The designer did not answer emails or texts unless I called the main office and complained. Then he would promise to keep me informed, but didn't hear from him. When the design proposal finally came in , it was terrible. Not much thought or effort put into it. Go somewhere else!!! Our designer, Molly worked very hard to design a completely excellent walk-in closet for us. she listened to our concerns and took our suggestions and made everything work. She was able to use every inch of space in our walk-in closet to its greatest advantage. And when they came to install the closet, the workmen were very diligent about keeping things clean and even came up with a fix for a problem that we did not anticipate with the floor molding. We've had a lot of work done around the house this summer and every single project has had a problem except our work with Closet Works. Customer service was outstanding - from the measuring/design process to the installation day. We had two closets done off the master bathroom and found the price to be reasonable and the quality of the product exceeded our expectations. What really amazes me is I used to take over about 1/3 of my husband's closet and now all of my spring/summer clothes fit in my own closet. I'm happy and I suspect he's even happier. Sue Tinker did an amazing job measuring everything out and giving me tips on how to leverage the space better. We will most definitely be calling Sue at Closet Works again for our next storage project...If only Closet Works installed garage doors and delivered furniture, then all of our problems would go away! read more

We met with Sue at our house, and she was as professional and as helpful as she was knowledgeable about her product. I had a quote from another company to do our master bedroom closet, but we went with Closet Works because Sue was able to work with us and get us the price we could afford, with all of the features that were really important to us. Our installer was a little late (and a little delayed in starting), but he did a really good job in the end, and even cleaned up after himself - a rarity in the construction/service business. Sue followed up to make sure we were happy (and we are thrilled!). As a result, we are doing another project in our house with Closet Works and Sue again. Great service and great attitude. She worked diligently on the plans to be sure the smallest detail was perfect. We had three closets organized by this company, which apparently is a victim of its own success. Customer service and communication are poor. We were told repeatedly, as an explanation for numerous unanticipated delays, that they were really, really busy. The whole process took more than twice as long as the designer initially told us it would. We were promised a design within a couple of days of when the designer measured. It was two weeks before we received a design. Meanwhile we received an e-mail message from the owner about how interested he was in feedback from customers. We e-mailed him asking about the status of our design; he never responded. Phone calls were not returned promptly and we had to chase the designer or others at every stage of the process. Once the design was approved, the "credit card authorization process," which had to be completed before the installation could be scheduled, took five days. Seriously? I would have written a check for the deposit had I known that. Although the end product is generally acceptable, it is not ideal. The designer had little interaction with us about specifics of the design, and instead made a number of decisions on his own. Not being closet organization experts, we could not have anticipated some of the problems with the design, for example, the fact that clothes that I wear the least (long gowns, scuba wetsuits, etc.) are the most easily accessible in my closet. There are other issues as well--the very expensive valet bars (attached pull out bars in the hanging areas) do not pull out far enough to clear the hanging clothes or to be of any use. Shoe shelves hold three, but not quite four, pairs of shoes. They could easily have been made a little wider to accommodate four pairs of shoes. The installer arrived late and as a result did not finish until after 5pm, causing us to be fined by our condo association. The installer, like the designer, was very uncommunicative--he installed hooks and other accessories without consulting us, resulting in someone having to come out and install additional items. We have previously used other closet design companies that provided much better service and a better end product. They were also less expensive than this company. read more

I had my master bedroom walk in and reach in closets done this past Friday and I couldn't have been more pleased with the whole process from start to finish. Sue was my project designer and was very helpful and insightful with suggestions and I really liked her designs. I had two other estimates and actually even checked with Elfa at the Container Store while there for another purpose and noticed their sale. After I had slightly tweaked the design, Sue got back to me right away with updated plans. I had some concerns about sizes of shelves, and Sue assured me it would be fine....and it sure was! Once I confirmed I was hiring Closet Works, I got a call within a day or two to schedule installation and it was scheduled for one week later! I was thrilled. I got an e-mail the day before installation reminding me of the time and also to let me know that the installers would use an orange cleaner and to please let them know if that would be a problem. The e-mail also mentioned that the weather forecast called for snow, so there could be some delay, but they should still arrive between 9 - 10 a.m. Well, it did snow, and my doorman called me at exactly 9:00 a.m. when they arrived. RIght on time. There were two installers and I think they finished up around 11:30 or so. They cleaned everything up, and were extremely neat, courteous and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend this team and company, I am very, very pleased with the end result as well as the whole experience. All of my stuff fits beautifully, is so well organized and I still have room for more stuff! It was well worth the expense :) read more
