Would never shop there again. They never called to notify my counter top, sink and vanity were ready for pickup. When my son arrived to pick them up, they never provided him the vanity and I needed to make a 2nd trip. The vanity counter top & backsplash was loaded into my car unwrapped and partially cracked that they did not take responsibility for. The knobs I ordered had screws that were too short to extend through the cabinet front that they did not take responsibility for. When I called to notify them of the issues I had, they never returned my phone call. Contact them via online chat to inquiry about ordering touch-up paint - a representative never came online. I received a text and email message that someone would be reaching out to me - never happened. In short, the WORST service ever. Little did they know I am a contractor and wanted to see what the customer experience would be if I did direct MY customers to them and put MY reputation forward. NOPE! NOT GONNA HAPPEN! I worked too hard to build my brand to have it tarnished by vendor who does not share the same customer values as I do. read more

Very disappointed with the process of countertop installation. Quoted price was not honored due to errors made by BSO representative and Dan the customer service person was extremely unhelpful and unscrupulous in resolving the issue, and he threatened legal action in the midst of our trying to figure out the situation. Spoke to his manager who was of little help, and was shocked that Dan threatened us legally. Guessing Dan was trying to cover his own mistakes without anyone knowing. Ended up having to install our own countertop supports, in addition to unquoted fees. WOULD NOT do business w them again. Could get similar prices at many quartz manufacturers. read more

We made the trip back again to BSO after having purchased a vanity top for a previous bathroom renovation. Our current bathroom project hit a bit of a dead end on our vanity search and we came here for inspiration. Having previously looked into the Bertch cabinetry line we were happy to see the Bertch set up and a large selection on display. We quickly found a vanity we loved (and hadn't seen elsewhere) and found Dan Wilson right away. His knowledge on the Bertch brand impressed us greatly. Naturally the style we loved was being discontinued but Dan looked into it for us right away and found that we could still order it for about a month longer. We left that day and called Dan with some more questions a few days later. He quickly got us the answers we needed (re: a recessed medicine cabinet option) and we returned the following weekend to order our vanity and cabinet. We had looked at Bertch at other retailers but Dan impressed us with his suggestions, knowledge and follow through customer service we were more than happy to give him and Builders Supply Outlet our business. We'll be back in a few weeks to grab a top and sink and intend to use BSO for our next project needs as well. We thought Dan deserved a little bit extra recognition. Cannot say enough good things about Builders Supply Outlet. They were fantastic in helping me design my kitchen island and bar area. Cynthia Rutledge was our consultant- she worked with me to get exactly what I wanted at the size that I wanted. The island was completed on time (which for those of you that were remodeling during COVID- you know this was a huge plus!!!). The came in at budget and on time- and with a quality product that I love! What more can you ask for. Mariola was a very knowledgeable help with our cabinet and kitchen design. She really knew her business. We had tried to do a kitchen plan at Menards in Bolingbrook but the sales woman didn't have a clue what she was doing and was surly to boot. So...we ended up at Builders Supply Outlet. Mariola put the design we thought we wanted up on her computer and immediately noticed that there weren't any spacers in the plan Menards tried to do. She started working with it and in no time she had it figured out to our liking and gave us pricing. Everyone from the owner down was very helpful. Saturday's can be very busy there so we went back during the week when things weren't so busy and even though it took us several months to commit to doing the remodel there was no pressure and when we came by they would pull our design up from the catacombs and change whatever we wanted. I was shopping for bathroom vanity tops for two vanities in my master bathroom as an update. My intention was to buy pre cut but one top was not a standard size. I assumed that buying custom was going to be too costly but BSO had great options in my price range, sink included! Angel helped me out with measurements and placing the order. Days after placing my order, the install company came to my home to confirm measurements. A few days after measurements two beautiful quartz vanity tops were installed. BSO was professional, helpful, and had a great selection. Angel called a couple days after my install to check in and make sure I liked the vanity tops and that the process went smoothly. This is our second time in two years using Builders Supply Broadview. Two years ago we did a main floor bathroom, total gut/remodel and this year a basement new install bathroom. We have shopped around at the 'big' stores for prices but the service here was by far the best experience of ANY place. The staff is knowledgable of the products and they were not pushy to make a sale. One Big Tip for you is that they are closed on Sundays so plan accordingly if Sunday is your only day to shop here. We decided to have our kitchen totally updated. We had gone to a few other cabinet designers before going to Builders Supply...huh!! DON'T waste your time just go to Builders Supply. Builders Supply was at LEAST 20% less for the exact same cabinets we had priced at different stores. Layne, at Builders Supply, was the designer who walked us through this process with patience. She is 100% professional, listens to your needs and makes suggestions with that creative mind of hers. Again the icing on the cake was sitting down with Layne with our dimensions from our contractor and she immediately began our design on her computer, we were able to follow her on a projected screen. We will be heading to Builders Supply, no where else, for our flooring project next month and Layne will definitely be our designer. read more

After hearing the radio ads for several weeks I finally made a visit. I already had a bathroom design and was looking for a specific style of vanity and faucets. They had a really great selection of beautiful vanities and tops. The faucets were somewhat limited. I found the staff extremely helpful. I must have had three different employees ask if I had any questions or need assistance. They carry doors, trim, flooring, cabinets and most items you would need for a remodel/update project. The prices seemed really good. I didn't make a purchase but I will definitely return when I'm ready to begin my next DIY project. Keep in mind they are closed Sundays. read more

Our contractor recommended this supplier for our kitchen remodel. Very happy with cabinets and countertops we selected from them. Unhappy that the drain basket wasn't included with the sink when our contractor thought it would be but especially disappointed with the faucet we purchased. It turned out to be a returned faucet that didn't have all the parts to install the faucet. Two trips to the hardware store and two hours later he was able to complete the install. We contacted BSO about the faucet but they weren't interested in providing a partial refund. Great materials but double check what you purchase to be sure all parts are there. read more

I give them ZERO Stars. I am remodeling and my contractor suggested I get my kitchen cabinets from them. After submitting payment,, I was informed that I would receive the cabinets in 2 weeks. It's now better than 3 weeks and the agent I ordered through won't even return my calls. My house is total disarray, I have missed work opportunities, and NOTHING is being done about it. We used builder supply for our cabinets, marble countertops, sink and faucet. The quality was very good and the price was lower than the other places we went to(and we shopped around too). The faucet we got there was more than $300 less than at other plumming supply store, we got it at builder supply for 375! As compared to 700. Great place to try before Depot or Menards, However we bought a front entry door last year with a single glass panel in the top, I broke the top glass last week and I'm having trouble finding glass to replace, Builders Supply tried as well, John the manager was very helpful but bottom line is I might have to spend a ton of money to replace break away glass or buy a new door, Can't go to local hardware store because It needs to be cut to length, If you buy something that might need to be replaced at Builders Supply make sure you have an option before you pay. read more

What a joke! You hear their commercials on the radio and the owner Tom Junkie continually tells us how customer service friendly and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC they are. We went in today as we are doing a major kitchen remodel. Got up early and excited to go in. We were greeted with folks who could not give us the time of day, or even shocked that we went in without an appointment. WHAT APPOINTMENT! Finally, told you make an appointment, meet with a designer, and then you are shown around their showrooms! I've basically been shopping at this store since they opened. Remodeled a 50s home top to bottom. The only issues i've had, and a good piece of advise. Whatever you buy, but extra. It's a surplus store, so when it's gone, it's really gone. Had shorted myself on tile and payed high dollar to have it ordered elsewhere. The staff is awesome. I learned how to tile properly and install crown molding the right way. Having someone spend time on the clock to teach you things just doesn't happen at corporate stores. But a major downside is their kitchen cabinets. They carry a few lines of cheaply made/ priced brands. I puchased a mid-priced brand. They look fantastic, but I honestly don't know if they'll last 20 years. I could have easily bought the top of the line and still paid less that what the box stores sell their mid-line product. Overall I probably saved 15,000 in cost over the last 3 years. But I made sure to research exactly what I needed and what I was doing. They have no return policy and mistakes are all on the buyer. So make sure you either know what you are doing or have a contractor that is very reputable. read more

After a long search for bathroom cabinets and counter, we went to Builder Supply Outlet. We spoke with Harold, who was very knowledgeable and patient. We placed an order for a bathroom vanity cabinet, medicine cabinet, additional storage cabinet and countertop/sink. When the items arrived, Harold himself helped us load everything in our van. Interesting that they've got 2 different names for the same company. Whatever money is saved versus buying... Whatever money is saved versus buying from the Home Depots or Menards is not worth the aggravation. Remodeled kitchen. Bought Americana Capital Cabinets manufactured by Wellborn Forest in May 2012. Middle of the road cabinets. We couldn't afford high end cabinets, yet we did not want the cheap ones. Originally wanted just a Honey Finish. Salesman talked us into getting a Honey Finish with Chocolate Glaze for doors and drawer fronts. Had the chocolate glaze finish been consistent and looked good we would have stayed with it. Cabinets came looking like a 3 yo slapped the chocolate glaze on. Crappy looking with a crappy finish. No consistency in how it was applied. In some places very heavily applied, in others barely visible. Voiced our displeasure by calling and sending emails to company and cabinet maker. Salesman and cabinet rep came out and took a look at the doors. Unfortunately I had to rely on my 25 yo son to show what we received because I could not get away from work. Because I was not there, I don't think they took my concerns and complaints all that seriously. I tried to get the manufacturer to replace the doors and drawer fronts. After 2 weeks of repeated calls and emails, I finally got a reply on what the manufacturer would do. It would cost us $800 to replace the crappy glaze-finished doors/drawers for the same with just a honey finish. Supposedly the manufacturer was giving us a deal. By this time I was so ticked off I paid the $800 extra for what I should have gotten originally . . . quality cabinets. Two (2) weeks later, new doors and drawers. To add insult to injury, the manufacturer forget to send one door and one drawer front which meant another 2 week wait. One more insult . . . the door is not the exact size as what was specified. It's about 3/4" narrower than it should be. I'm going to leave it as is. I GIVE UP!!! I'm tired of dealing with Builders Surplus and I'm certainly tired of Wellborn Forest. Cost us an extra $800 out of our kitchen budget. If you want a crappy cabinet buying experience, then by all means come here. Here are the takeaways from our experience: Stay away from Wellborn Forest cabinets, especially anything with a chocolate glaze finish. Don't believe any salesman when they tell you it will look good. I'm really disappointed with Builders Surplus. I feel they did not fight hard enough for me as their customer. read more

Recently decided to replace our kitchen counters and some other counter areas and began our shopping. Most places price their product with an A-B-C-D scale with appropriate pricing so you can judge fairly on price comparison. However, went to a "boutique stone company" and was treated absolutely terrible. They acted like they never heard of A-B-C pricing at first and then changed their story to "that's not their real price and there will be hidden extras. Walked away from them fast and returned to Builder's Supply Outlet since we have been customers for a couple years. We dealt with Layne in the EDGE department and she walked us through the entire process and gave us an estimate based upon our own measurements while stipulating the final estimate would be based on actual measurements. She was truly delightful, informative and no pressure. And honest! When the gentleman came to take the actual measurements, he too was very professional and informative on what would happen next. We received our updated estimate, asked a few questions and decided on moving forward. The installers came and once again, extremely professional, polite and clean. They arrived 10 minutes early and waited until the exact time to ring the bell. The install took about two hours and was just what the scheduler said it would take. No surprises, no extra costs, no delays, no double talk!! Just outstanding people doing outstanding work. Very hard to find these days. Love our new counters, love the way they fit and how they hid the seam. This is a family owned company and it really shows. Lots of hand holding, smiles and competitive pricing. We highly recommend that you shop here and ask for Layne if you are planning a project. Make life easier on yourself! read more
