She took the time to listen to what we wanted, looked at pics of our current bathroom, and was very direct with what could and could not be done given our dimensions and budget. She was very professional and we left the store confident we were headed in the right direction. Mario (owner) came out a few days later to measure and take pics. He was professional and also straight to the point. The quote was a bit higher than we had hoped, but we felt good about the design and items we selected. Items were ordered and Kim kept us updated on their status since it was several months before they could even start constructions. Once they started, we realized why they cost a little more than the average Joe contractor. Every contractor (4 different guys) were each phenomenal. They treated our home like it was theirs. They were all very clean, very detailed, and they ended up doing a few extra repairs outside of the contract (with my permission). Kris was the main contractor and was here the most and I would give him more than 5 stars. The painter is expertly skilled and I can't tell where the drywall repairs were done. The crew also was very careful around our dogs and didn't leave any doors open. The final project exceeded our expectations. We noticed a few paint touch ups that were needed and Mario sent someone out - a week after the job was done and the check was cashed. They all take pride in their work and I feel really wanted to do whatever they could to have me as a satisfied customer. Make an appointment, rather than just walking in - Kim is busy. Bring in pics and measurements if you can to help her out. They won't be the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. I would hire KB&B again and encourage everyone reading this to check them out.

We started with an idea of what we were looking to do. Didn't really know what was feasible or attainable with our space. Pete showed up, reviewed the space and dimensions, took notes on everything we were really looking to get out of the space. He didn't just take down the specific things we asked for but everything we were really hoping to be able to enjoy about the space once done. He sent over designs and reviewed them with us together, had no problem with the numerous adjustments we made along the way. Not just from things we wanted to change about them, but ideas he brought up that would work really well in the space as well. Much of which we didn't even know existed. Given this was going to be a massive update to our kitchen, den, laundry room and mud room; going in we were definitely anxious about how everything would ultimately play out. However Pete communicated the timeline, how it would all take place in which periods, and what to expect along the way. Everyone performing the brunt of the work our direct employees as well. The painters and flooring are from separate companies, but they're all friends and every one of them is friendly as can be. It was comforting knowing that the largest percentage of the work performed was by direct employees and not subcontracted help. Lastly, Pete's pricing structure is top notch. It is broken apart in multiple phases. Our's was a big job, so it was 5 chunks with the first roughly a third of the cost in the first chunk (not sure if that's how it works for all jobs, just our experience with this one). With the last 4 payments being paid AFTER each phase was completed. This form of payment breakdown is also the sign of a well established contractor that knows exactly what he can deliver and when, truly putting his money where his mouth is. This meant a demo of wood, demo of tile, new carpentry, new tile, reinstall of a fixture, additional pipe, and new baseboards. We decided (without any pressure for add-ons) to extend the work to the whole bathroom floor instead of just the localized area. So our results feel like not just a repair, but a remodel. Things that stood out: Communication - We felt the main point of contact, Anthony, was clear and helpful through the whole process. This is true of every crew member we interactacted with as well. Questions were answered patiently, things were explained clearly, we new what to expect next, there were no overpromises. Everyone that came into our home was respectful. Our input was sought at appropriate times, and we were shown progress consistently. Execution - Everyone seemed competent and capable of the tasks at hand. The results look good, feel good, and inspire confidence. If there was a mess made, it was promptly cleaned up. If there was a concern, it was handled appropriately. Initially I was a little skeptical of the proposed timeline but after seeing the work in action it made sense and was accurate. They removed all the crumbling concrete steps, porch pad, rotted wood supports and frail metal railings. They were able to reenforced the existing brick base and ceiling supports, reducing my costs. They framed, and rebuilt with cedar beams/ railings and finished with a beautiful, durable composite wood flooring. The detail of the craftsmanship on the custom cedar railings and posts are amazing. Demo and rebuild were completed in the estimate that was given of 3 weeks. I showed John a picture of how I wanted it, and he and his team did the rest! Seamless from beginning to end. Let me start by saying this - I don't make a habit of leaving reviews unless there's something…read moreextraordinarily good or bad about an experience. I've already used them 3 times, all positive experiences, which is what brought me here to confidently say that I'll be referring them to anyone else in the area as well. I first brought them into my home for what I saw as a relatively straightforward patch and paint after some water damage from a leaky roof. They gave me an estimate, which was lower than the other 2. I approved it and they came in the next day, identified the actual issue, removed the drywall, stopped the issue, put in another custom cut piece of drywall, sealed it up again with tape and paste, then sanded it down to make it look literally seamless with the rest of the ceiling. Anyone else would have charged at least double (based on other experiences I've had) but the communication was there from the beginning and I could tell that they weren't giving me the runaround. The transparency was surprising and greatly appreciated. That gave me the confidence to have them come back another time to replace some windows that had been cracked from rocks being kicked up from the alleyway over time, both paned glass as well as some square/cubes replaced. Bob, the owner, said he wasn't a glazer, but had a good contact that was also reasonably priced and knocked out that job in 1 day. After that, I gave him a call about some of the mason work that I was having done because at this point, I realized that Bob was trustworthy and transparent, and I felt like getting a 2nd opinion on what work had been done so far and what still needed to be done. I've even met someone else in the neighborhood who's house I visited and I was complimenting her new deck. Turns out that she had her deck rebuilt by JOB1 ! That's what brings me to this review, which I hope is enough detail to describe why JOB1 is so different than many other contractors these days. Bob and his crew are transparent, trustworthy, thorough, professional, and fair.
