Recently decided to replace our kitchen counters and some other counter areas and began our shopping. Most places price their product with an A-B-C-D scale with appropriate pricing so you can judge fairly on price comparison. However, went to a "boutique stone company" and was treated absolutely terrible. They acted like they never heard of A-B-C pricing at first and then changed their story to "that's not their real price and there will be hidden extras. Walked away from them fast and returned to Builder's Supply Outlet since we have been customers for a couple years. We dealt with Layne in the EDGE department and she walked us through the entire process and gave us an estimate based upon our own measurements while stipulating the final estimate would be based on actual measurements. She was truly delightful, informative and no pressure. And honest! When the gentleman came to take the actual measurements, he too was very professional and informative on what would happen next. We received our updated estimate, asked a few questions and decided on moving forward. The installers came and once again, extremely professional, polite and clean. They arrived 10 minutes early and waited until the exact time to ring the bell. The install took about two hours and was just what the scheduler said it would take. No surprises, no extra costs, no delays, no double talk!! Just outstanding people doing outstanding work. Very hard to find these days. Love our new counters, love the way they fit and how they hid the seam. This is a family owned company and it really shows. Lots of hand holding, smiles and competitive pricing. I was listening to Lou's home show on WGN radio one Saturday morning. Tom Jahnke, from Builders' Supply Outlet, was a guest on his show. I sent a question via text about an exterior front door. Imagine my surprise when Tom personally called me! After I explained that I wanted to surprise my husband by replacing the front door (something he's wanted to do for years), Tom offered to come and take the measurements for me. As I wanted my husband's input, he was there when Tom came over. Tom answered all of his questions and suggested we look at their website/come into the store to see the different door styles. We were pleased with the price of the door we chose, and Tom suggested having his pro paint the door for us. We are so glad we followed his advice. The installer (Tom also recommended him), was as impressed with the quality of the paint job as we were. Our front door is beautiful, and as nice, if not better, than the specialty places we've visited over the past few years. The total cost for the door, paint job (paint), and installation was less than half of what we would have paid at a specialty store. We completely remodeled our kitchen thru Builder Supply and it was a great experience. From the first time we stopped in, we had one contact person who was involved in the entire process from the lay-out, design, presenting cabinetry options, selecting woods and finishes, connecting us with a contractor, to sourcing the countertop we wanted. We purchased Shiloh cabinetry and a contrasting mid-Continent island with furniture legs - both are beautiful, and we are so pleased and are enjoying it every day. After having a very stressful experience with a bath remodel, these guys were such a pleasure to deal with! They were always available for questions (which were plentiful), always responded appropriately, handled any issues promptly, and really worked to incorporate all the detail we wanted into an efficient and beautiful room. This review is for The Edge in Orland Park. Ed Worthman did a fabulous job helping me envision the many possibilities for our first kitchen remodel. His advise was insightful and very much appreciated. I learned a lot through this process as Ed's knowledge for kitchen design is extensive as well as being a pleasure to work with! Also, The Edge works with an appliance retailer and counter top supplier that offered great quality at great prices. I had shopped for cabinets at 2 of the big box stores before I went to The Edge and will tell you the cabinet quality that The Edge offers is far superior to the well known cabinet makers from the big box stores and the savings were amazing! Through this whole process, we saved several thousand dollars and got much better quality. The backsplash tile (also purchased from The Edge) went up last week and our kitchen is now complete. After 30 years, it was time to re-do our kitchen and bath rooms,so we went to Builders Supply with an idea in mind. Tom Jahnke, the owner, showed us their different cabinetry options displayed in the design center. He introduced us to his designer, Mariola Sopala, and she worked with us to pick out our cabinet color, material, style, etc. She used their CAD system to help us lay out our new kitchen, since we removed soffits and rearranged the peninsula to make a bar area. Her knowledge of the various cabinet pieces and how they would fit into different spots in the kitchen really helped streamline the process. Our new kitchen is so functional because of her thoughtful contributions. I highly recommend Builders Supply and Mariola Sopala if you are considering purchasing new cabinets or vanities. Cannot say enough great things about our experience. My husband found this place not knowing much about it, just reading reviews. We made an appointment and luckily we got Michelle Moya one of their reps to help us. She was wonderful from start to finish. Michelle was knowledgeable, helpful and did I say patient. This was a DIY project and let's just say Michelle was the guidance and kitchen counselor for all our questions. We visited big box stores and the cabinets we purchased here were far better then any we looked at. Our countertops also beautiful and installation was a breeze. Michelle took the time to help us through the process and was available by phone or email always willing to answer a question or solve an issue that came up. We previously bought two vanities from Builder Supply Outlet for our old condo, and returned for two more when we renovated the bathrooms in our new condo. We love our new natural walnut and white Bertch vanities from Builder Supply Outlet. Layne provided excellent customer service and was very helpful in running different quotes and completing the transaction over the phone, which I thought was the best and safest way to handle things during the pandemic. The walnut vanity is a little darker than shown on the Bertch website, but I think the wood grain is just beautiful and provides a nice contrast to the white shower tile and white closet doors that we have in the rest of the bathroom. My husband and I were remodeling our lower level. Actually we were forced to because of flooding. We purchased a vanity for the bathroom and granite counter top. Dan helped me pick out both pieces and some hardware. He was exceptionally patient and knowledgeable. I should mention that the prices are very competitive. You can order custom made or pick from their high quality in stock products. I picked out a beautiful granite in stock vanity top which came with a sink and back splash. And i didn't have to wait two weeks or more. This will be my first stop for any future remodels. I highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed. We found Builder Supply Outlet through an ad on WGN radio and decided to check it out when we wanted to redo the kitchen in our downtown Chicago condo. Our sales rep, Mariola, was very helpful and drew up incredible plans which used every inch of the kitchen in creative ways. While we went to several places for estimates, no one came close to matching what we paid and the quality is excellent. The cabinets are made of quarter-sawn oak with soft-close drawers and stained a beautiful gray. We were very happy with this business and particularly with Mariola. She is very knowledgeable and always returned calls promptly. We will definitely go back when we are ready to update our bathrooms. read more

I personally LOVE Builders Surplus! They have out of this world prices and the staff is extremely patient and knowledgeable. I bought a house that needed a LOT of work, very dated, but I am also a penny pincher. Some like to say I have champagne taste on a beer budget :) My house definetly looks nice thanks to BS and I finished a few extra rooms thanks to the money saved. AND, I too have chocolate glazed cabinets and I think they look great! it doesn't look slopped on by a 3 yr old, but it doesn't look perfect either, I think it gives it an antique look to it, Some people just don't like to think outside of the box. Layne took her time to completely assure that we were satisfied with our kitchen design and cabinet styles. There were plenty of styles to choose from and their prices were well below quotes we received from others including a big box store. First off with these crazy times builder supply outlet puts the health and safety of patrons first. Everyone wears masks and maintains 6 ft distance. My wife and I came in to hopefully find the right cabinets and counters to update our outdated kitchen. We were met by a sales rep and immediately was connected with Chris. Chris was very helpful and knew his kitchens that's for sure. In just a short 1.5 hours we had our dream kitchen picked out! I honestly was expecting to be stuck there for hours but that was not the case. We recently went to Builder Supply Outlet for a kitchen remodel. Mariola was outstanding and patient as we digested all there was to see and choose. She discussed options and showed us many choices and she built computer displays so we could actually see how things worked out. We ordered and they delivered on time and at a very reasonable cost! One minor glitch was noticed at delivery and It was taken care of immediately and the part was delivered within 2 days. The moving company they used was top notch and professional. Julia is the person who helped me, she asked what i was looking for, listened to what my needs were and found what I needed. Cabinets for the kitchen, replacement windows 51 x 60, four of the same ones and knobs. I guess it depends on having a salesperson who knows how to listen. I had already order my cabinets on line with a different company who promised delivery by a certain date. Two weeks after promised date, i canceled the order and came here.. I knew what I wanted, although they did not have exactly the same style, they did have ones that I can adjust and they also saved me over a thousand. This is my second purchase with this place and they have both been great I've only bought doors so I don't know about everything else But customer service you get is great this time around we had to buy 3 exterior doors we had two doors off size and Harold said they can build one to size which I didn't know If it wasn't for that we would have been s.o.l and this way we get their quality which is awesome We will definitely be back for any future purchases and will be asking for Harold I will post pictures once doors are installed Thanks to him we can keep the character of our home to it's era read more

Was new at this whole remodeling thing and was lucky to have Harold help me with the decision making! Everything ran smoothly. Their vanity selection was fine and much cheaper than most places!! I splurged and ordered the quartz through them. Beautiful. They subcontracted that out and all was coordinated perfectly!! I highly recommend them for vanities and tops. The only thing is they don't deliver so for 100.00 I had the delivery company next door ( I think they have a thing going) deliver my 72 inch vanity. I highly recommend them and maybe you will be lucky and get Harold to assist you. read more
