The event center is large enough to host community events, but can be converted to host smaller events as well. I also really appreciate the cleanliness, and accessibility to free parking. If you're looking for family friendly events in Lynnwood, I recommend looking into seasonal events hosted at the Lynnwood Event Center.

We just had our wedding here…read moreat the end of July and used the garden space for the ceremony, the patio space for cocktail hour and dancing, and the Hall for dinner. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect location for what we were looking for! That being said, there are definitely some limitations with this venue, so I've tried to list them below. Pros: - Very affordable, even on a Saturday afternoon/evening in the middle of the summer! (check their website for current rates: https://www.kirklandwa.gov/depart/parks/Permits_and_Reservations/Facility_Rentals/heritage_hall.htm#rentalhours). - No limitations on catering/bartending. You can hire whoever you wish to cater! - Air conditioning! This wasn't something I thought would be such a big benefit, but this summer the heat was atrocious and having the AC was such a relief. - 2 bathrooms (one on ground level, one downstairs). - I feel like this beautiful location was made for a wedding. Guests could flow so easily between each space (ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner), there were fantastic spots for wedding photos (e.g., the steps in front of Heritage Hall, the dock of Kirkland Marina Boat Launch, the huge gazebo at Marina Park Pavilion), and there were tons of bars just down the street in downtown Kirkland to choose from for the after party (we went to Flatstick Pub!). - The ladies at the City of Kirkland were so nice and easy to work with. I was planning this entire wedding from across the country and they answered all my questions and tried to help out in every way possible leading up to the big day. The indoor part of this venue is only an option for those with a small number of guests (max capacity in the Hall is 70). We only had a wedding of 62 people, and I still had fears about fitting everyone inside Heritage Hall and having them seated for dinner. It ended up working out, but the tables and chairs weren't the recommended distance apart that all the stuff online suggests so I'm sure everyone felt cozy. - Parking. Not the most fun because there is no dedicated parking for events and the spaces directly around Heritage Hall are all metered or time-limited (e.g., 4 hours, which wasn't long enough for our wedding). I think our guests either parked farther away or moved their cars halfway through. - No chairs/tables for outside. The venue comes with 15 rectangular tables and 70 chairs that you can use inside of the Hall, but you have to separately bring or rent chairs and cocktail tables if you wish to have any outside. You also can't have equipment dropped off in advance or left beyond your rental period, so you need to pay to have same-day drop off and pick up. It ended up costing over $500 to hire a rental company just to drop off and pick up 52 chairs and 4 cocktail tables w/linens, so that was an extra expense I hadn't initially anticipated. - No AV system. This isn't really an issue inside Heritage Hall because the space is small enough it's easy to project your voice, but we ended up renting an AV system for $200 to use outside for music/mic during the ceremony and dancing. If you do this, just note there is only 1 outlet on the outside of Heritage Hall on the patio, so you may need to get extension cords. - No real kitchen (only mini-fridge). This might be an issue if you plan on having true catering or need to keep items cold. - Alcohol could only be beer and wine; no cocktails, hard liquor, or beer kegs. This was fine for us, but if you plan on having signature cocktails, you'll need to look elsewhere. Overall, if you are looking for space to host a small, simple wedding with no frills but amazing grounds and easy access to other locations for catering options, photos, and after party, I can't recommend Heritage Hall enough.

It was great for so many reasons - we could say, Hey our location only holds 60 people so we have to keep it small, sorry! The people at the city of Kirkland were so easy to work with, and it had air conditioning (which was great for our 95 degree wedding day on June 30th)! The slight downside of working with the city is that you can only preview the location during weekday working hours, and you only get 15 minutes to walk around, but believe me, that's all you need. We were all worried we would be rushed, but we walked in and you enter right into the room from the front doors, and it's all right there. There is a bathroom downstairs you could get ready in that you can't really see from the info on the website. There are plenty of tables and chairs available as well, but they are only to be used indoors, which worked out great for us. You can't find a better location right next to the water for the same price point. We were very pleased!

I reached out to *so* many venues, and this was the only one that gave me a truly detailed breakdown of everything and a really good idea of what it would look like to have our wedding there. When we toured the space, we knew we found the right spot. It's beautiful inside and there's a lot of great features and room. We had a 185 person guest list, and our final count day-of was 127. There was PLENTY of space for everyone, and there would have been with our original count as well. Matt was so accommodating with us. He really took the time to work with us and help us customize our wedding. His response time was always quick, and I really appreciated the continual clarity with everything. The Foundry is run by Herban Feast, which means catering and the bar is all in-house. Initially, I was a little worried how this would affect the cost. And I'll admit, when I first saw the numbers, I was a little scared. But honestly, this was a crazy good value. The per person price for food was actually a lot lower than a lot of other places, and the food was seriously fantastic. In terms of the bar, they really worked with us and let us do a lot fo customization, which was awesome. In the long run, I was so grateful to not have to worry about food or booze and just let them work their magic! While we didn't do an individual tasting, Herban Feast has open houses for each season, and I was able to taste most of the menu items then. And yes, everything I had was delicious, and our selections were great on the day of the wedding as well. Overall, we were so happy to get married here and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a pain-free planning process. If you're getting married in the summer, it also doesn't hurt that they have AC!

Best venue and staff in all of Greater Seattle…read more That is a large claim to make - but I am certain it is the most valid statement as well. I had my wedding at the Foundry in November, 2013. My husband and I looked at venue after venue, and the second we walked into the Foundry, we knew it was "the one". Everything about it was breathtaking - the space, the decor, the lighting, the upgraded chairs, linens and place settings at base price (where to get those at other venues, you were paying an arm and a leg). The ease of planning and working with the staff was something I had never experienced before - and I come from a family that specialized in service in the business world. Every staff member that I emailed, would always email me back that same day answering every question of mine. Anytime I made last minute changes (which happened a lot), every last detail was taken care of. The staff (I worked specifically with BJ and Michelle) genuinely wanted to make sure I got everything I dreamed of, and gave me things to think about that most people wouldn't bring up to a bride because it would make for more work on behalf of the staff. Now the food was to DIE FOR. We went with salmon and steak for 165 people, and every guest I spoke to said they have never had that good of food at a wedding before. Every piece of steak and salmon was perfectly cooked and at a very high quality. On the day of, Michelle acted as the Day of Coordinator, and made sure everything fell into place timing wise. Every detail was spectacular - and if I had the time, I would write a novel on every aspect of the integrity, quality of service, and professionalism that Herban Feast provides. If you have your wedding at the Foundry, you will not be disappointed. The Foundry at the team at Herban Feast has my HIGHEST level of recommendation. There was ample space which was great but no lines so it was basically a big space. There's a long meandering walkway up to the venue. There's a playground but that's reserved for the kids center. It was sunny that day and the wedding started at 4pm. Unfortunately, more than half of the outdoor seating wasn't covered so I was warm and the sun was in my eyes. It was nice they had microphones otherwise you wouldn't be able to hear. I suppose it could fit about 100+ guests comfortably maybe up to 200+ compactly. Once the vows were done, there wasn't much to do. They have a room with a billard table and a fountain but that's about it. There isn't much in terms of entertainment other than that. The kids were getting antsy and it took them about 2 hours to get dinner ready! My kids were snacking on what I brought them because they were too hungry. They brought out small hots d'oeuvre of bacon wrapped dates and fruity tart with cheese but that's about it. They had 2 kinds of non-alcoholic drinks readily available - cucumber water and rosemary lemonade. They had more alcoholic drinks of beer, wine, and cocktails. Since they didn't have a program available, I didn't know what was next or how long things took. I was about to leave before dinner was served until I asked how long it was going to take. We had dinner indoors and the room doesn't have AC but they had a big fan going. The room was set up nicely - there were 12 tables in all and it didn't feel cramped. The food was decent. Once they let people know we could eat, we all headed over. They had bread and salad all prepared at the table. It took about 20 minutes for the main course to arrive. We left before the cake got there unfortunately because it took so long. How long? 4:30-6:20 just waiting around, down time. 625-725pm salad, main course but no dessert yet. The water jug wasn't cold either. The sea bass was alright - slightly overcooked but I was starving and didn't mind. Roasted summer veggies and steak was fine so was the whipped potatoes. The food came out about the same time for the tables so that was good. One of the bathroom doors werent working and they have hot water but not cold. It looked like the original fixtures. You can tell the place is old and dated.

The event space is well maintained even though it is showing its age somewhat. I visit yearly for the Japan Fair in July. Every year, it looks about the same as the year before - good in terms of maintenance, bad in terms of improvements or lack thereof. Other than being a bit dark inside (the place feels very brown), the space serves its purpose. Parking underneath is a rather spendy. $12 for an hour; the incremental hourly cost increase is a lower rate. The elevator is roomy. The stairs say for emergency only, but it is fine to use without triggering alarms. The bathrooms are clean. During the Japan Fair on a weekend, there are janitors working. I might have given them four stars instead of three stars because of this last aspect. Sometimes a venue has no staff despite having an event.
