The highlight of working with this venue is Joanna. She is so incredibly warm and welcoming and focused on creating the event you want. She was available all the time and always answered emails and phone calls promptly. She is flexible and happy to meet and show you around and walk the grounds with you. She also suggested my amazing planner, Julia Pavlovski of Wedding Wise Seattle, and for that I am forever grateful (sorry, shameless plug, but it really was such a great recommendation). When I arrived to Robinswood on the day of, overwhelmed by everything that was going wrong (sooooo many things went wrong) Joanna saw me and gave me a giant hug and it really reassured me that she and the team were going to make sure everything in their power went perfect. And they did. The space is intimate. They say that they can fit over 200 people, but I wouldn't suggest it for over 100-125 as I feel you'd be quite cramped. We wanted an outdoor wedding and as it rained (even though the forecast was only 10% chance!!) on our big day, having the log cabin and awnings was a great relief for ourselves and our guests while the teams were prepping the reception area. The grounds are unique. I am actually a huge fan of the flow from ceremony garden area to cocktail/dancing area to reception area. It kept everyone organized and in one place. Additionally, their staff for day of is really great. We got compliments about the bartender and serving staff. I would say the things to be aware of is a lack of flexibility on their policies. Their policies are their policies and there isn't wiggle room, so if you were hoping to work with a specific caterer who isn't on their list, or serve liquor, or do a sparkler send off, etc be prepared to nix those ideas. In a way, it actually does make it easier for a bride to make decisions by narrowing down the options (trust me future brides, a million options is not always a good thing), but for people who have a very very specific idea in mind, talk to Joanna about those specific ideas before signing your contract to ensure detail you have in mind is allowed. Over all, we are very happy with Robinswood House. It was great for our perfectly imperfect day!

After spending seven months on the hunt for the perfect wedding venue, I was ready to give up. I'm…read morenot going to lie, I am picky; I specifically wanted a large, open, indoor space with natural light, and minimal furnishings - ultimately, a blank canvas. Just something neutral, classy, and easy to work with my vision for my wedding. Apparently I was asking too much, because every other typical wedding site was $3000+ to rent, required you to use their vendors (boooo), had hideous carpet or tapestries, or their coordinators liked to ignore me. Then, in a final search of desperation, I found a link to Great Hall at Green Lake. It was meant to be. Nelda was super prompt in responding to me (major cookies and points here), friendly, and didn't just want to throw numbers at me. My fiance and I scheduled a tour of the place and Nelda showed us every nook and cranny, and was more than happy to answer all of our questions. Very reasonable rental prices (in comparison to all the other wedding venues out there) and Nelda is very up-front about any optional/additional costs. I am not a bridezilla, but I do expect a professional attitude and level of interest from someone acting as a vendor on one of the most important days of my life, and I am happy to say that thus far, the communication process and tour of the space has been perfect; I cannot wait to have my wedding here next spring, and I will surely return with another review.

I also really liked that it got a lot of natural lighting in the building. We initially wanted an outdoor wedding but being in Seattle, that was too much of a risk to take even in the month of August. We were initially concerned that it would be too hot and that we would need to rent air conditioners but it was pretty cool outside that day so we did not need to. They also had some large portable fans on the stage if needed but we did not need them on our wedding day. The staff was very hands-off. We scheduled a tour twice and sometimes it seemed like they were not expecting us. I think it was because someone was on their way out of the job and some things needed to be communicated. They were very flexible about letting us come in to look at the place for a second time with our wedding coordinator and set out chairs and tables to see what it would be like, they basically left us alone and said we could leave whenever we were finished. They have one larger room upstairs to be used as a bridal suite, and then one smaller room downstairs that seemed too small to be a second bridal suite. I ended up letting the groom/groomsmen get ready in the main, larger bridal suite, then us ladies got ready at my friend's house, and then we told the guys to leave when we were on our way and that worked out pretty well. I had about 120ish people at my wedding and it was pretty tight when the tables were out, like my husband and I could barely walk across to get to our table and people had to stand and scoot in. During there ceremony, it was perfectly fine. The main thing that was an issue for me is that they do not have a dumpster that we could use and expected us to haul our own trash out after the wedding reception. They charged quite a lot of money if we were to leave trash for them to dispose of. I think that was the most stressful part, and they also said that we can't dump garbage in the neighboring dumpsters. This was the only reason for me taking off one star. Otherwise, I loved this venue for my wedding!

The ballroom also comes equipped with a kitchen for use during rentals. Chairs, rectangular/banquet and round tables are available for set up. A projector can be accessed and hooked up to a laptop for presentations, movies, videos, etc. It's quite an unassuming space from the outside, but definitely worth a look if you're on the search for a reasonably priced venue for a gathering of 100+ in the Greenwood neighborhood.

This lodge building is one of the many local gems still operating in the same neighborhood since…read more1923 and in the same building since 1924. Many other local lodges also use this building for their meetings. The building is available to rent for weddings, receptions, classes, and other community activities. Rental spaces include a 1500 ft sq. dining area complete with a commercial kitchen. Upstairs the lodge's 2000 ft. sq. meeting room is also available for use. The decor is staid, but very user friendly. It's also handicapped accessable. One of the many lodges that meets here is St. Johns' #9 which has been working in Seattle since 1860. You'll find they're often in the background of such events as the Freemont fair, Seattle Youth symphony, Dr. Maynard's grave restoration, elementary school reading programs and a small project long ago... the location of the University of Washington here in Seattle. (The four columns by the HUB were carved by one of the brothers around 1869 - a guy named Denny.) Probably the most enjoyable and entertaining lodge that meets at Greenwood is Daylight Lodge 232. A lodge formed for entertainers and others who worked nights. They've been meeting in Seattle since 1920 and are still centered around the arts community. Other vendors were not allowed early access to the hall as agreed, which caused cascading delays across the entire program. Additionally, the hall was not fully cleaned--trash from the previous event was still present when we entered. The décor (done by French Creek Manor) was also not up to standard, and there were multiple issues throughout the event. When these concerns were raised, the owner refused to acknowledge that the problems were due to mismanagement. There was no accountability or effort to resolve the situation. I strongly recommend against hosting your event at this property.

It was super convenient for friends who already have a kid and dog and are expecting their second one. The arrangements were good, but I would say little expensive for my liking. The starters were good but the we found the main course to be decent. They have a center stage that they can decorate as per your liking, bring out a screen if you want to play something, and overall made sure guests enjoyed the event.

We loved it and appreciate all the memories. We choose this chapel for its incredible beauty, all inclusivity equipment, beautiful location and budget. We wanted to spend less time on things like decor and setting up tables/av, and more time with our loved ones. Best pros which saved us a ton of time and funds. 1) No decor needed - the chapel is already gorgeous, and so is the exterior if you want some photos/videos 2) Equipment included - mics, av, stand, chairs, check-in tables, table cloths, brooms, changing rooms, table cloths, etc. 3) Amazing floor space and acoustics: We had lots of bollywood style dancing and performances so floor space and acoustics were important! 4) Serene - In the middle of a state park (perfect for fall, winter or summer) Free parking for all your guests! 5) Someone on sight to help ensure things run smoothly (note, this is a staff member, and not a wedding coordinator or technician) 6) Fits up to 200+ people do you don't have to compromise on the guestlist. We only had around 80 max to keep it intimate as we wanted to interact with everyone. 7) Affordable price - We would probably not have had a wedding if venue prices were any higher! Honestly this is a great deal. Cons: - Strict no food policy, though the cafeteria is right. I wish they allowed us to at least serve cake/dessert outside within the time frame as it's a cultural tradition. We brought water bottles for our guests. Instead of a traditional ceremony followed by reception, we had an intimate party the day prior at our apartment lounge with food. Cost as of 10/2019 is $1400 for summer-Oct, and $1100 for winter months. $250 deposit. This was one of the best prices when we were shopping around. Alternatives were community centers but they required us to do all the setup and decor, which we didn't want to burden our loved ones with. I recently got married here…read more I say that with such ease now, but for anyone who has ever been part of planning a wedding, you know that it is anything but easy! Pam Vaughn, the events coordinator there was a pleasure to work with. They were very accommodating to us regarding our budget and the whole thing went off pretty seamlessly. A couple of perks about Bastyr: - The chapel is huge and gorgeous - if you like traditional European style churches, you will love their chapel! - They've started doing receptions there also and the food is top notch. They grow a lot of things locally on their grounds and supplement by buying things locally, so everything is excellect quality. We had a chicken dish and their vegetarian lasagna and had nothing but glowing reviews from all of our guests. - Compared to a lot of places I priced out, they are very affordable. Having a wedding officiating business as well, I will definitely be referring Bastyr to my brides.
