The money pit I bought has been a borderline disaster with what was/is wrong with it and these guys have made it much more tolerable to deal with while we try to fix up the place. In the past year they have replaced my water heater, repiped the exhaust, participated in a complete bathroom renovation, and a chimney removal with relocation of the exhaust. I knew they would care about their work when I got my first estimate from them about my water heater. I had quotes 2-3 times what Hubbard's quoted me. Both brothers were very tolerant of my many questions and could tell I was in over my level of skill with this house and went well above what they needed to when working on those projects. I know they are super busy as I imagine they are the most popular plumbing and heating guys around and my projects have all been complicated and needed to schedule others contractors with them. I wouldn't be surprised if they might have to triage an issue during high-needed times, but they are worth the wait. I almost feel bad that I have more work needed to be done and don't want to waste their time or talent.

OK, here's the deal: usually when something goes wrong with my parents oil burner/boiler (which is from the 70's no less) or anything else they own-I get a call to see if it's something I can help them with being the handyman of the family. However, unless it involves hitting a reset button, or telling them they're out of oil, they usually wind up calling Rand Handy for repair haha (Hey I can't know everything). All I can say is these folks are FAST. If you call them and say you've got no heat they show up about 30 minutes later. I'm from Boston, so I'm used to scheduling things during the week, so I'm blown away that these folks always show up so quickly. If you need something major done and HAVE to schedule it and they say they'll be there on Tuesday at 2PM they'll be there on Tuesday at 1:55PM. I don't know if they don't get very busy on the south shore or what, but man these folks are reliable. The other part of the service experience is the people who show up themselves-almost always someone older (45+ years old) who knows what they're doing, explains things, and lets you know what's going on and are friendly. I have no idea how their prices compare in the area, or if they deliver very far from Marshfield, but their service is old-school and definitely top notch, which these days counts for a lot.
