I've been a customer of Jason's for two years. He repaired our tenant's boiler twice during the deep freezes of '22 and '23. It cost us upwards of $6000, which was a lot for us, but I never haggled because we had no choice, and I appreciated his responsiveness at the time. He has a cheeky attitude that can tip over into disrespectful. One example, he got irate at me for not responding to a text when he arrived, after I had specifically asked him to ring the doorbell. This is relevant later. He has a way about him that makes me uneasy, like a guy who jokes around but is about to blow a fuse. On the second repair visit this past February, I asked him to also quote replacing the hot water tank, which still works but is approaching end of life. He texted me a quote in March, and in June I said we'd like to move forward. He said he had to requote, and I had no issue with that. But it's been like pulling teeth ever since. The texts speak for themselves, attached to this review. This is the part that tells me I'm done with him (typos are his): "I'm very busy with a.C issues at the moment and by the way I gave other customers that' have spent 5x more money then you have so I would not pull that card feel free to call a plumber thanks" I don't care how busy or lucrative you are -- you don't communicate with an existing customer this way. And I've been pretty polite and patient this whole time, as you can see in my texts -- and we're talking six months since my first inquiry! Apparently, if you're less than a $30K customer, be prepared for unresponsiveness combined with major attitude. Jason doesn't need your business. Good for him! (but not really, in the long run)

Ryan was great, tried to keep my carpets/bathroom clean as much as possible and was patient in discussing my options and answering my questions. Surprisingly was able to get an appointment for install on Monday. Jared was also great. Definitely appreciate the small details and concerns to keep the carpet clean like hand carrying both the old and new water heater up 2 flights of stairs. Between the quick response/scheduling time, clean workmanship, and fine attention to detail, happy to say the leaking water heater experience felt less chaotic with 128's help! Total turnaround time, Friday 11pm to Monday 4pm hot water up and running!!

I called 128 Plumbing about one cracked drain pipe. I was told my entire house needed to be…read morerepiped. The estimate (#435094323) was $30,275 to demo every wall and ceiling necessary, disconnect first- and second-floor bathrooms, toilets and sinks, and replace the main stack. That was presented to me as the only option -- no alternatives, no phasing, nothing. And it did not include the roughly $6,000 I'd need to close the walls back up and reinstall fixtures, or the ~$400 roofer I'd have to hire and coordinate myself. Their own estimate puts the hole repair on the customer in writing. All in: nearly $37,000. Meanwhile my first-floor tenant was told she couldn't use her bathroom or her kitchen. When I hesitated at the number, I was told that at least if I sold the house I'd "have retail value." That's the line that made me stop and get a second opinion. Thompson Plumbing came out, found the actual leak -- old hubbed cast iron serving the kitchen -- and repiped it. $2,995. My final invoice was $3,420, and that included an unrelated frost-free silcock I added on. My toilet was fine. My kitchen sink was fine. My tenant's kitchen and bathroom were fine. Not one wall was demoed. Same house. Same leak. Ten percent of the price. I'm not going to speculate about why the two assessments were so far apart. I'll just say this: if 128 Plumbing tells you your house needs a $30,000 repipe, get a second quote before you sign anything. I nearly didn't, and it would have cost me thirty-three thousand dollars I did not need to spend.

I ended up having to help him through checking everything. I eventually got an "estimate" that included overpriced repairs that cost as much as replacing the unit. It had a digital "signature" on it that just was the tech writing NA. I never actually signed anything. Nothing they sent me mentioned anything about late fees, but considering I was done with this company and couldn't get them on the phone reliably to pay I mailed a check. The check was never cashed, and I tried calling a couple times over the last year. Now almost a year later they email me telling me I have a years' worth of late fees because they never cashed the check. I finally was able to call during the day (not always easy for me). I got a person who again told me the person I needed had already left for the day. I told them if they wanted to be paid they needed to take the card over the phone right now. She agreed. Then told me the current balance. I refused to pay the late fees and told them I would authorize only the original balance. She put me on hold while she checked and then blind transferred me. The person answered like they had no idea who I was. I explained the situation again (very frustrating) and he knew exactly who I was and already had the information. He stated they have several ways to pay, except apparently those ways aren't check since I tried that. And none of the mailed "invoices" I received provide any payment information, terms and conditions, or anything but the current balance and how many days late it was. Just "Past Due - Please Remit" and an address along with a return envelope. But I had already tried that. This person claimed to be willing to take the payment, but when I rejected the late fees he claimed he needed to investigate and would get back to me. I told him I am not available during the day and he scoffed at me. I gave him one final chance to accept the payment without late fees right then or I was going to stop even attempting to pay as my life doesn't revolve around a waste of time diagnostic service with a technician that didn't know what they were doing. It shouldn't be this hard to pay them. The late fees should have never existed if they just cashed the check I sent or had ever provided me with payment instructions. other than "Please Remit", a return envelope, and an address. I will never use these people again. Everything with them is a clown show. Can't get straight answers, can't get things properly diagnosed. Can't get trained people. Can't even pay their bill. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
