Central AC stopped working. Ended up being the capacitor which was replaced right away. Arrived early the next morning after calling.

RCL is a great company, one stop shop for ac, electrical and plumbing. I needed a new ac, and I spotted a van at another house in Taunton. I called the customer service line they were able to provide a day for consult. We agreed on the price and work began. Marc Mason the owner personally came out made sure his team was all set. The Install went smooth aside from one of the workers stepping through the ceiling. They apologized and offered to take care of the repair. It was an accident and I understand things can go wrong. He had a great attitude, was knowledgeable, never pushy, and took the time to answer all of our questions. After two phone calls and no response to the email we sent with questions about a plumbing estimate, I finally received a call from someone in their office who stated that they "might not be able to answer" our questions. We requested clarification on several items, including the length of copper piping quoted, which was not listed anywhere on the estimate. The company responded that they do not disclose cost per length, but that was not what we asked. As customers, we are entitled to know exactly what we are being charged for, yet no additional information was provided. The estimate remained vague and generic, offering no transparency or detail. Because of this lack of clarity and unwillingness to provide basic information about their own quote, we chose not to move forward with this company. read more

Had a drip from a main water coming in the house. Sergio was pleasant enough. No pipes replaced, just a washer and plumbers thread putty. He charged well over what it should have been. We paid it. Contacted the office for a itemized bill. was told we would get a call back because it didn't make sense. It has been 4 weeks. Nothing. We have email Mr. Mason the owner. Nothing. DO NOT CALL THEM. I recently had RCL perform maintenance on my HVAC unit. The technician was pretty solid and professional, until he charged 500$ for a capacitor. I told him he was gouging me but wouldn't budge, and offered no alternative. I contacted management and they offered 100$ off the coil cleaning. Hope this helps future customers. read more

I called RCL Mechanical after seeing a special on furnace tune-ups on Instagram, as our furnaces hadn't been serviced since they were installed with the construction of the house (13 years ago). I called and they were very helpful - the appointment was scheduled and the service technician came right on time a couple of weeks later. What I really liked about our technician (I wish his name was on the invoice!) was that he explained everything he *was* going to do and then explained what he *did* afterwards. The furnace in the basement was making a gurgling sound that I told him about, so he replaced the water pump for what I thought was a fair price. I now feel confident that our furnaces are ready for the winter. What I also appreciated is that at no time did I feel pressured to do any extra work. For the water pump he explained what was going on, showed me the price, and it was up to me whether I wanted to go through with it or wait. I really appreciated that and I'll definitely use them again! read more

They show up when they said they would, and let's face it, these days that alone practically makes it a pleasure. And patiently answered all of my stupid questions. I called RCL on Thanksgiving week as the weather was turning and my Mini-split system was not heating properly. They told me they would send a tech, but then had to cancel the day before my appointment because they had to honor their contract customers' requests first before a non- member call. They recommended GEM. This is the only reason they don't get 5 stars, because GEM Plumbing and Heating price gouged me, filled the system, which eventually failed again. I called RCL back, signed on as a member, and had techs come out to diagnose and repair my system. So far, the system is holding strong. The Techs were knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. I would highly recommend them!!! Again, I would have given RCL 5 stars, but they recommended GEM, which resulted in a very expensive and ineffective service call. To the RCL Management: Please take GEM off of your referral list!!! read more

Beware $99 trip charge is just the beginning. Add on $150 "Extended Diagnostics" (never explained) and $150 Safety Check (again after the fact told its mandatory and I'm told it will be charged everytime) for a total of $400 just to show up and then work was done without prior permission as well. Less and an hour a half and over $400 on labor because the $300 part included the labor for that installation. Then after the $700 tells me I ought to have them come quote a replacement, not before the $700 charge though, so I can't forgo the repair and replace it. Just taking people for everything at the holidays! DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

My elderly sister who lives in Plymouth had RCL come into her condo and look at a new Navient system which had been put in by another company. They came in a couple of times and did say maybe you should get back to company that put it in. What I didn't like is how they up their future service fee from $2000.00 to 4000.00 to 6000.00- Knew then they had no interested in job. Wouldn't trust them at all!!!!! read more

First of all: Incredibly expensive. I figured it about $500 an hour for a toilet installation and a mix valve replacement ($1200). But worst is that it is $129 for the service guy to show up for a quote. Once he was here, he asked me what he was to do, then looked at his pad for and gave me a flat rate. He never needed to show up! They could have given me the flat rate over the phone! He showed up just to charge me $129. read more

I hired them to inspect an oil heating system before closing on a home. I told the tech (Cory) I wasn't familiar with radiators or oil heat and needed a full inspection prior to closing on the home . He said everything looked fine, the oil tanks were old but in good shape, noted some obvious corrosion on the boiler and barely glanced at the radiators. The very next day after closing, a radiator started leaking. He came back, said he fixed it , that it wasn't pitched correctly but the leak continued. After spending over $800, I had a local oil company do a FREE inspection and they immediately flagged the oil tanks as unsafe and said the boiler needs replacing. The radiator leak was from a bad valve, something RCL completely missed. Save yourself the money and frustration and hire someone who actually knows what they're doing and won't take advantage of you. read more

RCL Mechanical installed a mini split in my garage. They finished the entire job in one day! The office was very friendl. They made giving a deposit and paying balance very easy. The thing that I liked to the most as they took all the empty boxes and trash that was produced from the job and took it away instead of leaving it behind, like some contractors do with other type of trade service. My toilet was "running" for quite awhile and I just never got around to call for service. I then got my water bill & it had increased by about TEN TIMES my previous bills. I was shocked and felt very stupid because I hadn't thought anything of it and didn't turn the water off to the toilet! BIG MISTAKE. I called RCL (having used them before) and the receptionist, Nicole was great. She is the one who told me to turn off the water! The Service Technician called when he was nearby , was prompt, very polite and explained everything to me very clearly. He showed me three options with the prices and I selected to replace the toilet. As soon as it is delivered, he will come back to install it. I really like the way they sent me a text acknowledging my appointment AND including a picture of the technician so I never have to worry if the person at my door was actually with the company before I opened the door. As a woman alone that is very much appreciated! I would recommend RCL for all your Plumbing and HVAC work. They are fair and reasonably priced. read more
